Just Cavalli Gold for Him

I am new to this community as well as I am to perfumes, besides, English is not my first language, yet I will try express my thoughts as broad as possible. So, first things first: Boy, this is such a mesmerising perfume. The piquant, radiant cardamom in the opening is to die for, people who love the scent of it (like me, heh) will instantly fall in love. if only it lasted longer, but after 20-30 minutes it transforms into a realistic coffee note which was lingering behind. I guess it's the characteristic of it. Furthermore, I agree with the "this reminds me of" section, my «love at first» sniff-"Intoxicated" by Kilian might be quite similar with those two main notes, especially the former, however, I think Just Gold for Him is a ristretto/espresso infused type of coffee fragrance while Intoxicated is vanilla/cinnamon coffee. Both are fascinating. I don't sense any leather(which is a signature feature of Roberto Cavalli) and it's not that important. I really didn't wait long enough to evaluate the longevity and sillage and etc. I just ran here to write down my view. Having tested and worn many fragrances, I've come to a point where I now think that, in the form of a fragrance, perfume- as an olfactory experience, is actually meant to take us on a vibrant, spirited journey, and make us feel something ethereal/otherworldly, if not simply extraordinary. Although this is rather relative, changes from person to person and/or fragrance to fragrance, but it's still legit. If it does it and there is a craftsmanship behind, it truly doesn't matter whether it stays four or ten hours. When you get on a roller coaster, you pay money for the experience/amusement, not the duration. Hence, perfume is supposed to evaporate, not stick.

A wonderful fresh coffee scent laced with spicy cardamom! Every now and then, a marvellous fragrance appears a bit out left of field and Cavalli Just for Him Gold EDP is an example. But we shouldn't be surprised when the nose behind this fragrance is Domitille Bertier. She also created both Midnight in Paris EDT & EDP and Versace Man and many more. Domitille's style is evident in Cavalli JFHG, with the fresh top and warm spicy undertones. The "fresh" here is in reference to the time of the day rather than the note (i.e not citrus or aquatic). The top is similar to a freshly roasted coffee early in spring or autumnal day. The airy spicy undertone with some smokiness here is reminiscent of the nose's other creation. Not a complicated fragrance or exceptionally unique but well done and crafted with good performance. Earlier today I wore Histoires de Parfums Tubereuse 3 Animale and Cavalli JFHG in the evening created a beautiful blend. Unfortunately, I believe that it is now discontinued or becoming hard to find but a 50ml bottle will go along way. An excellent and standout fragrance for the office during spring and autumn. Cavalli JFHG does have a Christmassy feel about it hence it's my scent for the evening whilst staying at home during the festive period. I am a 52-year-old male but the fragrance is suitable for 25+ and unisex IMO. A solid 7.5/10, Happy Holidays to everyone!

Ever though that coffee was a genderless scent? Try this then. It is so undoubtely masculine and unique. If you did not know that coffee was a note, it's hard to say what this smells like except: 'this is how a man should smell'. Once you realize that coffee is a note, you smell it subtly every time. Gold for Him has so much depth and is so revitalising every time I smell it. Perfect for a long day or long nights. This is probably one of the only fragrances that can cure sleep deficiency.

this really evokes Coffee memories for me. I love the smell of coffee more than the taste, I wonder if it's cause it cleanses the nose palate... but I just read that's just psychological, apparently de Perfumers smell their own skin to do that. I'd like that it had the bitterness of the coffee, but then why I just don't open a jar of it? :)

Tried this one today, and this is one dark coffe smelling fragrance, it starts very strong and even after 4 hours i can still smell it, not as much as when first applied but this is one good strong dark autumn smell, and did i mention i liked it but then again it's not any revolution, better has been made before.

this dry down to pure amber - so nice that I love wearing it myself....too bad the beginning is fresh and typical cologne smelling, not feminine

Got it on sale, pleasantly suprised by smell. It is eau de perfume so smell stays long and I can smell it after few days on jacket.

Whoever has this for sale, messege me, am looking for it

For me any roberto cavalli is good , very underestimated house great value for money and smells gorgeous .

Overall: 2.25/10 Here's Why: Loud, Boisterous, explosive opening. Surprisingly, that's the best part. This smells like burnt espresso, bay leaf and oregano. The leather is hardly detectable underneath the burnt coffee. the staying power is slim, the silage moderate and the bitterness never goes away. dry down stage means disappearing act - it finally mellows out and then disappears into a Lucky Man replica that wafts for an hour or so and then fizzles out. This is not my cup of tea. (or burnt coffee for that matter). Repulsive.

Today I made a mistake. This fragrance was an irresistible deal so I bought it as a "back up bottle" so as to say for my Just Gold for Her. Well I only realized when I came home and decided to give this a shot *after* checking out the notes and reading the reviews here. I thought I would like it, so I opened the package and generously spritzed myself. Well the initial burst is definitely masculine, so much so that I was like, hell I can't wear this because everbody will think that I had just skipped the shower after sharing some intimate moments with a good smelling man. 2-3 minutes on and the super masculine, sharp burst is gone. I am left with the "clean diaper" effect plus some soft spices which I like... So this scent is mellow, soft, spicy and rather slightly masculine on my skin. I don't smell much coffee, if at all, it's really the black pepper and leather which takes the lead. Overall, the scent is very refreshing, comforting and suitable for all seasons. It reminds me of YSL's Nu, but a softer, fresher, less complex, flat version. A modernized body spray version of the grand vintage Nu maybe... If you like spicy or woody orientals, you'll enjoy this regardless of your gender. Just like his sister Gold for her, the scent sits rather close to skin and has moderate sillage & longevity. I don't regret my purchase. Albeit I won't be wearing this to work, it is definitely a hit for relaxing at home as well as daily go outs, and it's especially good in air conditioned spaces. This scent has calmed me down for some reason... 8/10 - Recommended. *Discontinued, grab a bargain if you can. *Migraine safe.

Just Cavalli the original was a knee jerk buy for me and a fragrance I subsequently got shut of in a recent wardrobe cull. However I don't think it deserved the slating it gt from the fragrance community because it wasn't that bad, the reason I got rid was because I found it a bit too much like a mundane deodorant not due to any offence it caused. I have to say the bold opening notes of this fragrance made me stand up and pay attention reminding me spicy scents like Xeryus Rouge or Hot Water and kind of sharing something with D&G's The One. Then a drydown which delivers a coffee note (which is even a bit nutty) in addition to what is an incredibly warm base of woody notes and approxmated 'leather' from the original fragrance (which everyone seemed to HATE!!!) and a soapy spice of cardamom. When you weigh all that up it sounds like a very interesting fragrance right(?) but in reality you end up with something a little uninspiring. I don't know why that is because I quite like Just Cavalli Gold and the performance seems to great. This is second time trying it and it's definitely wearable and an improvement on the first effort in this range. Still something is cheap and cheesy about this whole thing slathered in Gold and snakeskin it's just tacky. No one is going to smell this and declare it as revolutionary but worth a sniff for those after a thick, heavy, wintery 'Going out' fragrance.

Masculine, long lasting, and with perhaps the best coffee note on the market. Tad sweet, but the warm spiciness balances it out nicely. It leans toward being a gourmand, but has a unique composition. Think of Rochas Man with a stronger coffee note and a more masculine vibe. This is one of the few gormand-like fragrances I would wear because most lean unisex in my opinion. The complaints from the ladies about not being able to wear this fragrance because it's too masculine is mind boggling. For Pete's sakes, it's a guys fragrance. What did you expect? Flowers and candy? This is a man's fragrance. Made for men. Sorry if that offends you. The point is, by all means, never blind buy a man's fragrance if you are a feminine lady. My wife has learned that lesson too many times when buying fragrances based on reviews here claiming to be unisex. She's not a gender bender... she's all woman. And yes, men and women should smell differently. Shoot me.

Bought this for myself (I am female) as I adore coffee leather and cardamom and the whole Roberto Cavalli female line. There is no milk and sugar in this scent. It is soft spicy but in an almost nauseating kind of way. I do like it, the cardamom and coffee are definitely present, but it has a herbal basenote that when blended with the sweet coffee makes me feel quite queezy and sickly after a while. I do like it, but in small doses. Could not imagine wearing this in summer it would be overbearingly nauseating. I bought it as male fragrances tend to have better projection and lasting power than female scents (this one does compared to female Cavalli's) and it was a good price at under £30.

After the bad experience with the 2013 'Just Cavalli' release, i did not have much expectations from this one. But it is better than i thought it would be. A drydown dominated by a burnt coffee smell together with a base of woody notes. Performances are very good and while it is nothing groundbreaking, it actually is a pleasant fragrance that doesn't come as synthetic as expectations might be. And certainly much better than the original release. Office friendly as well and also an option for the fans of the 'Play Intense' & 'Rochas Man' that were looking for a less sweet alternative.

Wow, I'm getting all the accords that people are listing - warm spicy, coffee, etc., but I am getting them for about 10 minutes, then after that I can't detect anything. After about 30 minutes this seems to become a skin scent on me. I asked my fiance and she also had to come close to the skin to pick up the scent. Maybe this was a bad batch, maybe my skin was super dry, but I can't give a scent high marks when it disappears after about 45 minutes.

This was a blind buy, because I wanted to try something from Roberto Cavalli. Oh man wonderful scent I got the coffe not from the first smell, very veritale in my opinion, it still has the freshness for warmer day. But for someone who does not like coffee it is horrible. Even tough it has a wiff of freshness it does not appel to someone who is completely into fresh or aquatic scents. And the performance is great, a solid 8 of 10

First minute it smells nutty, after 5 minutes it starts to Smell like baby powder or a diaper, a clean diaper tho, if that makes anything better. I still get that feel and im 30 minutes on the fragrance, so i dont know about the drydown nor am i interested for how this starts. This is a pass for sure.

Sorry but I don't detected any coffee here.. very old fashion aroma, with some poudery and Armani code vibes. On my skin not so long lasting power.. pass!
