Wow! This fragrance is...BEAST MODE! But a gentle giant at the same time... IMO; Roberto Cavalli's Uomo Silver Essence... The little brother of Roberto Cavalli's Uomo. I love this flanker, damn. I only bought this outright, because i love the original Uomo By Roberto Cavalli. Plus Amazon had this 100 ml under $50, so i got it. The cardamom, ginger, tonka bean & lavender combo is amazing. Its a sweet but spicy mixuture. This fragrance...its just...Very versatile, pretty much your go to for any situation. You'll definitely stand out, while wearing this gentle giant. This lovely scent that just bumped off a fragrance, from my top five... It's that good, i'll certainly keep this in my rotation. Bring this with you on a date, so when you leave her place and she goes to bed...she will call you up and say her bed smells likes you and miss you because of it. Make a scent memory. Out of my 200 plus bottles...it's gets kind hard to be surprised or get excited about a new fragrance...Because you think you've smelled it all...and then you find a diamond in the rough. In other words, i'm happy with my blind buy. BTW: I'm gonna use this on my birthday to create a nice scent memory, and wear this only around my girlfriend and or special events. I don't wanna over use this, and have it lose its relevance. It's a sleeper, that can become background noise(E.G. Like Invictus, Creed, One Million, etc...). Basically you smell it all the time, and from everyone around you, that you can no longer pick it out the air. Like smelling flowers on a sunny day, and then it rains...and everything(fragrance/scents) just gets blended into one. I used five sprays...both wrist, back & front of my neck, chest. Incredible niche quality juice, Christophe Reynaud is an absolute genius perfumer! I have tried the entire line except the original Uomo and they are all absolutely stunning! This exudes a softer masculine energy and requires a confident man to really pull off. Photorealistic floral violet opening, with warm spicy cardamom over a thick realistic velvety lavender accord, grounded against a sweet tonka base with some light green notes. Woody undertones come through as the fragrance dries down more. There is a very obvious iris note in this as well even though it isn't listed on the notes of the pyramid on this page. You can tell that they used extremely high quality ingredients. The fragrance is so beautifully blended. Women absolutely adore this fragrance. It's so elegant, just like the Golden Anniversary and Deep Desire flankers, however this is a much more versatile fragrance: it is much more suited to warmer weather than the previous flankers. Longevity is excellent for a fragrance of this style at about 8 hours on skin. Projection is huge for the first three hours. I believe this fragrance is unisex, but as I mentioned before, it takes a confident man to really pull this off. I don't see men liking this much as women do, as the main character is definitely that juicy violet leaf. The entire RC Uomo line is absolutely outstanding and offers some incredible bang for you buck. All of the fragrances I have sampled have been niche quality and put some of the more expensive houses to shame. It's such a a shame that most of this line consists of limited editions. If you like the original iris focused Dior Homme fragrances, you will really enjoy these, as you can see by the parallels drawn to other frags in the reminds me of secrion 8.5/10 and growing even more on higher!

Saw a 60ml of this for $27 and almost blind bought it then I saw it in a department store and compared this to the original black version. Immediately I prefered the original but over time the silver version has grown on me to the point where I prefer it. Not yet sure it is beast mode or just heavy but this fragrance has the most pleasant drydown silage, the experience reminds me of why I bought burberry london because of the "what is that amazing smell" vibe. The bottle is very Versace Eros like and looks awesome even if all that glass makes it heavy for a 60ml. UPDATE: 2 sprays on my shirt = 1 spray on my chest and it keeps getting better and better. Sprayed at 5:30pm, its now 9:30pm and still smelling fantastic 22C 70% humidity. Reminds me of higher pitched version of Chanel Allure Homme Sport Extreme (not as many compliments) but instead of staying the same, it evolves. UPDATE 2: it's not 8:30am the next day and my shirt still smells pretty strongly. Longevity it super solid. Silage is still only pleasant whiffs

I have been using this for a few days. Instead of telling you about how wonderful it is and the note breakdown, I am gonna say that it reminds me of 2 fragrances - YSL L'Homme and Dior Homme Intense. I had Silver Essence on me and I tried the 2 mentioned in a Notino shop here in Bucharest. Silver Essence just has something of both worlds. Lasting power is outstanding, but don't take my word for it and try it on your skin as fragrances tend to stick to my skin for a long time. As for projection - it fills a room with only 5 sprays without choking anyone. As I view it, it would go well anytime as long as you're at least wearing a polo shirt and some jeans, preferably being dressed up. EDIT: forgot to mention : projection dies down very much after 3h EDIT: got a backup bottle of this (totally worth it). found a 100ml tester for 20$ - that's a steal

First off, A huge thanks to Leon aka Lockon for introducing this fragrance to me. As you can see this is my NEW signature fragrance..Spicy with just the right amount of sweetness.. This is a year round, all-occasion monster.. I recommend you pick this up, but shop for it online to get a good deal.. This is one of those fragrances where I would pay retail price for because it’s that good!! Blind buy this and you won’t regret it.. Besides the bottle looks really cool! Rating 9.8/10. Good smell! The begining is just like Cavalli Uomo, the black version! But the drydown is just great, it reminds me a lot of Valentino Uomo, i think because of the orris, which i like...nice bottle also! So if you are familiar with the notes/ Uomo black version...definitely a blind buy! Perfect for cold weather, i would not dare to wear on summer....to sweet and intoxicating! Too bad for the sillage/longevity....BUT for 15 euros good for collection!

I just received this beauty today, but still didn't have a full wear for it. It's addictive, I sprayed on my hand and kept sniffing it, the scent is so good, elegant and masculine, sweet, warm and some how fresh. This will shine in the cool weather, here in Egypt we are at the beginning of Summer, can't wait for cold weather to wear this amazing fragrance.

Beautiful creamy, waxy Iris, with a sweet tonka beneath. It never goes too powdery or sweet though, actually it would make a wonderful signature scent, as the ginger and violet make the scent slightly tart, youthful and dynamic. Perfect for all seasons, but the high heat would make it cloying. Definitely a grower, and a very unique scent !

This is a beast , great performance !! longevity +8 hours , projection still strong after 3 hours , love these sweet spicey notes ,compliment getter as well, this one is highly underrated , slept on by many but i bet this will be hyped soon ,i wear it at fall / winter. Very classy and rich in scent but not offensive at all. It is one of my top 5 favorite perfumes. I love it and that why I have chosen it to be my wedding perfume. it has some of Dior homme DNA. Addictive scent. The more you wear it, the more you like it. Very versatile, but in the same way also very different. It stays away from the common woody-citrus cliche DNA, and that makes it a perfect signature fragrance. Very elegant and sophisticated. Spray on clothes for better longevity.

Really nice perfume, blind bought it. It's on the sweeter side, I would never take it during summer even during cold nights. Reminds me of Ferragamo F Black, but more office friendly, not that harsh. Its a steal for that price. I would say safe blind buy. Sillage + longetivity are great

This is simply great fragrance! it smells so elegant, classy and inviting, but not overpowering. modern masculinity! silage is very noticeable it projects nicely for a 3-4 hours. women loves it! fully recommended in my opinion

This fragrance is seriously addicting! I love the warm spicy notes mixed with the fresh lavender and geranium. It's perfect for a night out and definitely makes a statement.

Don't sleep on this one. Creamy iris and powdery violet leaf makes this the best of the series. A blue fragrance for cold weather.

Floral, spicy, cakey, sweet, fresh, slightly earthy to my nose. Very pleasant.

Crude and a little clunky but not without merit and in fairness this combination of notes has not been overly done. The opening is a very unusual, synthetic fruity, sweet candies vibe but with a herbal, slightly cerebral lavender. The drydown to me is a transformation into more of a woody, powdered smell without knowing the notes I said, sandalwood, ginger, iris and an unmistakable note of violet. Well I was pretty spot on, I also get a kind of crayon and pencil shavings base which could even be described as a touch leathery or some Tonka or something? Sounds confused and like the sort of stuff I’d usually critique hard, but hey I’m going easy on this because it was pleasantly surprising. The opening was pretty unique smelling but I’m not sure whether I could say I enjoyed it or not? It was a bit loud and slightly tacky. The settled scent actually showed me a little nuance and revealed other notes, it’s okay but I probably wouldn’t wear it again.

A glimmering fragrance that is smooth, floral but with an added little spice kick to keep it interesting. This is like taking a stroll around a loved and well kept botanical garden to inspect the fauna. The initial steps of violet and lavender notes have a mild hum like real flowers, not a plastic plagiarism found in synthetic fragrances. Journeying on, geranium pops into bloom whilst the oakmoss really grounds this fragrance and stops it from getting away and becoming a sickly floral bomb. No garden is complete without some produce; aromatic cardamom and fiery ginger gives this scent a bit of buzz, and will leave you sniffing your wrist to savour it. I love the scent. I love how it evolves over time. My only bugbear is that it lasts about 4 hours (skin type dependent) Uomo Silver Essence is a quiet kind of luxury that doesn't need to announce itself. It simply is. A great, classy signature scent that can be worn on all occasions.

Just got in uomo silver essence and I really like it! looking at the note break down it reminded me of le male le parfum (doesn't smell like it though) and also of millesime imperial! I get the aquatic fruity (to my nose) sweetness and the same calm feeling I get from MI at least for the first couple of minutes, doesn't smell like MI just strikes me as a similar style for all of 5 minutes. As this settling further on the second it becomes quite unique and goes it's own way. It's now creamier and more vanillic based sweetness although vanilla isn't listed as a note. Definitely something I could myself wearing most of the year, and a great price point too. side note the note break down on this one is deceiving as it carries quite a hefty amount of sweetness that I didn't expect, so if your planning on buying this as a dry mature scent don't chances are you're not going to like this.

It's a fragrance tragedy that this stuff has been discontinued because its very hard to find now. Simply put, this is a powdery, mildly sweet and somewhat spicy fragrance. Just dont overspray with this one. Some may find it a little cloying if overdone because of the rich violet and tonka mix. The waxy iris here does a good job keeping this one tamed and silky smooth. Solid projection as well. Even though I really enjoy this one, I still feel there will be some that don't. Just keep the sprays to a minimum. Less is more with this dna. I believe this was a budget creation that turned out much better then it should have. I will be holding on to my next bottle for a while as I believe the price of this beauty will continue to rise over the years.

This is instantly quite a powdery fragrance, from opening to dry down. I'd describe as woody-floral but being on the light side of both. This is a subtle fragrance with light sillage and close projection on my skin. I have dry skin so lighter scents do have a tendency to say "...Elvis Has Left The Building!.." more often than not. But when Elvis is in, the fragrance is very pleasing, a quiet, gently wafting, unobtrusive and pleasant vibe that is a pleasure to wear. I can't foresee anyone not really liking this floral-woody, slightly spicy fragrance. Priced about right as it has expensive nuances and overtones, no way does it smell cheap but refined and cared about. I'm wearing it today and enjoying it.

Interesting.... The opening is captivating, exceptionally well blended to where you are immersed in violet fields, spritzes of cold ginger and subtle cardamom giving depth. The creamy oris and tonka are also there and noticeable not yet fully taken over. What a great opening! Now in the middle and base the orris and tonka fully take over and the ginger and cardamom slowly surrender. It is so buttery and edible you can almost feel how sticky it is. The lavender also plays a very PIVOTAL role in the mid and drydown standing like a Roman colum in this creation. And bear in mind, this transformation still takes place amongst a violet field. Truly, a beautiful scent. Goes highly recommended.

In the opening it reminds me of Lalique Hommage a l'homme and i was kinda upset because I own the Lalique but it evolves in a different direction, and I enjoy it. For the price I got it I am pleased only 12 euro for 60 ml full presentation, but I will not repurchase in the future. Over all a good creamy fragrances, no synthetic smell, office safe in my opinion. Later edit : The drydown is more and more enjoyable, unfortunately after checking the barcode i understand why the price was so low, 2 July 2017, no problem, I'll wear this one all autumn 😍

Why does no one get an Azzaro Night Time vibe off of this? They share vetiver that I know of. This is only slightly like the Regular Uomo(regardless of the 3 notes they share).It's okay, but to me, not worthy of flocking too...as in If I smelled this in the store, I'd have not bought it...but I bought it online, so yay...like not love, won't buy again. It's mild and boring...yet not generic, and not gross. It could be a safe blind buy if the gift recipient doesn't fall asleep before saying "Thanks."

Fresh floral sweet and creamy. Has a bit of a mature vibe but nothing grandpaish. You have to be a fan of violet to enjoy this as the opening is in your face but it settles down to a semi sweet creamy accord. Nothing out of this world but still pleasant and versatile enough to be an everyday scent but of course it's no longer in production.

A very sweet and spicy fragrance that settles down to a sweet powdery one, decent projection and longevity considering the price. It's synthetic but in a good way. Reminds me of Bulgari man in black without the booze.

I dont know about Valentino Uomo, but this thing is very similar to Zara 9.0 (old bottles) with creamy tonka added. I have a 2017 bottle, it has a really solid 8 hours of longevity and good sillage.

Opening is so good and the others 15 min... after this time it smells like lemonade in a good way but so different from the black bottle. i prefer the normal version much more!

I am kinda dissapointed with the projection, sits really close to the skin. However, a nice fragrance overall.

Did not think this is anything special. I love the original version but this is just more of a standard spring type fragrance. Does not have much in common with the original. Very green and sort of generic to be honest, the original is more distinctive as it only has a few well selected notes but this is just like many others you've smelled before. It's certainly not bad but nothing to write home about. I will say the longevity and silage are excellent for a fresh fragrance though.

I bought this fragrance without ever having heard it. I was not completely disappointed but I am not even very happy. At first impression I tell you that it looks like a quality fragrance, no synthetic smells, plus it evolves very well. BUT(!!!!!), it's not for everyone. Some say it looks like Allure Home sport Extreme, but they have nothing in common, although I would have liked it very much. I don't like the opening, it smells like a cranberry juice cocktail and for some notes it reminds me a lot of Alien Man. After that it evolves well and is very pleasant. The duration is impressive, BUT (!!), the projection is not very strong, it remains very long as a scent of skin. Be careful, it is not for everyone. It's not that kind of smell you like right away, it's a difficult fragrance. The two things I like about this scent are the Longevity and its very complicated evolution. Longevity - 8/10 Longevity on skin - 9.5/10 Projection - 6.5/10 Silage - 5/10 Scent - 4/10 Overall - 6.5/10

To be more poetic,french like... Imagine a wooden shack with fresh hay and some flowers on the floor and pigs just pissing from above.

a banal scent with banal performances. it does not differ from anything else. no note wins over the other. 3/10 I expected more.

Really generic synthetic mess very strong. And somehow this smell gives me a headache. I just can't stand for it. The price is great just the scent it's not for me.

I'm only one wearing in, but this is a really odd fragrance. It starts off powdery and a touch creamy, but also...mentholated? That's the geranium. And it sticks around a while. The violet leaf is grassy, but not sharp or fizzy like you get in stuff like Green Irish Tweed. Throw in an herbaceous lavender, and you get a scent that's a little bit unfocused. It feels like the bright notes are competing with the warm notes. And this is all in the first hour or two. After it dries down further, you get a nutty/cake-y tonka bean that takes over with a touch of spice behind it. But still the minty geranium. Why? I'm gonna give it some more wearings, but my initial take is that this feels like the combination of two fragrances that try to do different things. The geranium especially feels like a misstep. EDIT: Trying it for the first time on a warm day was a BAD idea. The opening is just a tiny bit muddled, but it has some class to it. Like a really nice suit with a tie that's too wide. The dry-down, on the other hand, is a tonka lover's DREAM. So often, tonka and vanilla are used interchangeably, but this really showcases the unique aspects of the note. It's growing on me.

This fragrance is for some reason really hard to find in Europe. If you can get it at a decent price below 60€ I’d 100% say go for it. It’s got a strong citrus in the opening that I don’t really know if I like, but after 10-15 minutes the citrus fades away and the creamy iris and vanilla takes over along with that spice from the cardamom. The fragrance lasts quite a long time and projects quite well. I’ve had people smell this and asked for their opinion and got very mixed responses. Some say that it smells very synthetic (probably cause of the citrus) but I’ve also had quite a few saying it’s really pleasant and quite masculine. I’d say this is more suited to older people 25+ but as an 18 soon to be 19 year old I can still wear this and I like it a lot. It’s very unique and I’d say it’s worth the pickup for any fragrance collector. Not a lot of people are wearing iris scents, which I feel is a shame cause it’s such an amazing note. It’s not really a safe blind buy, but at 50-60€ or below i don’t see a reason why you shouldn’t pick it up. :) Best for early spring and fall, but can also be worn during winter with no issues.

This fragrance is unlike any other men's fragrance I have smelled. The opening is sweet, warm and spicy. floral, almost fruity, loud, woody, and a bit fresh. imagine the flavor of Ginger Ale plus Iris & Tonka. Not typically masculine at all. As others have said, a bit synthetic, but in a good way. I just read, allegedly there is a strong sweet and synthetic citrus(?) in the opening.... what? Not true. there is not even a single citrus molecule in that frag. which is fine. But, sometimes I can't believe what people write about fragrances on this site. There is a synthetic vibe, but it is not citrus. The dry-down smells better in my opinion, Less fruity, and less ginger less synthetic. More tonka, Iris, and Woody. but don't expect similarities to Dior Homme, these 2 have nothing in common, not even the iris. performance: good. longevity is about 7 hours, projection is just moderate, not too strong, scent: 6/10 uniqueness: 9/10 edit Feb. 2024: price: prices doubled in the meantime. 39 € for 60ml where I live (in central Europe). that's still ok, but don't pay more than this. it wouldn't be worth it.

Really great! Underrated fragrance/house. I smelled this 2 years ago in a department store and never forgot about it, so it makes an impression to say the least. Finally got a bottle this week. The fragrantica ratings are pretty accurate this time. Not really for winter, it just doesn't suit it. It's currently winter here in AUS, and I'm going to resist the urge to wear this. I just feel that it doesn't live up to it's potential in the cold. I'm VERY excited to give this a shot in the spring time, this will be perfect. Longevity is still fantastic no matter the season. Iris/oris is one of my favorite notes in perfumery, and this is done very well. Most iris fragrances are stronger and appropriate winter, so this is a nice change. Creamy tonka. Easily worn casually or formally. Nothing to dislike about the scent! I like this more than the original Uomo. Similar mid to S.T Dupond's Be Exceptional. 7/10 in winter 9/10 in spring It's cheap! Get it.

Smells like CK Obsessed, the original Uomo, and some tonka had a baby. About the CK Obsessed comparison: they very clearly use identical aroma chemicals, and they have the same perfumer. Especially the long-lasting top note. I don't know what it is but I smell it a lot in modern perfumery (I think it's one of the ambroxan variants). This has a ton of it. However there are a couple tiny differences between the two. Obsessed smells like it has a light mint note in it while this one is a touch sweeter and preserves some of the original Uomo DNA. I now own full bottles or decants of all the Cavalli Uomo line. They are good, affordable scents (and so is CK Obsessed) but don't expect to be totally blown away. I still think the original Uomo is perhaps the most unique and enjoyable of them all, but I also really enjoy Silver Essence and Deep Desire. Not a huge fan of the La Notte.

I rarely wear this to work, yet did so today. Non-stop compliments from women. It's violet on very forward iris root and lovely warm base notes. Maybe people noticed that it's a 2010s throwback. Fortunately it's not too grandfatherly. I also don't think it's an office fragrance, in the end. More "date night". I suppose it has been discontinued. I think of it as a "male" cousin to Guerlain Insolence. By the way, Insolence is one of the successful recent re-formulations by Guerlain, for "Les Légendaires". Maurice Roucel and Sylvaine Delacourte created Insolence for its 2006 debut, after IFRA, so perhaps it doesn't require herculean repair work to keep it going. 2017's Silver Essence disappeared by covid and ebay sellers expect 150-200 USD for what was a 40 dollar gem. Brand new Insolence can be found on the grey market for 60-80 bucks if you look around a bit.

I am amazed to know that no one has talked about how similar this is to CH Men Prive (especially the opening) . I blind bought a 100 ml bottle because it was available for around 30$ and as soon as I sprayed it I knew that I had smelled something like this before. I haven't yet used it enough to give a complete review, I'll edit this when I get to use this properly. EDIT: Yes, it does have a similar opening to CH Men Prive but the similarity ends there. The dry down was a bit too floral for me so I had to part ways with this one. Nevertheless, it projected well for the first 1-1.5 hour and remained a skin scent for the next 6 hours.

This has a classic men's fragrance feel to it. 30+ imo. Pleasant and agreeable. Nothing ground breaking but it's nice and cheap enough to roll the dice on a blind buy. Edit: I got this one on a whim. Fragrancenet only had them in 60ml which I thought was fine so I scooped. After wearing it a few times I fell in love with it. I jumped back on fragrancenet and got another 2 bottles. It's the only backup bottles I've ever bought as this is discontinued. Now I wonder how I'll get on without it.

A bit of a mess, to be honest. Not a terrible smell for the price you can get it at, but the blend is poor and the quality pretty low. The tonka, orris, violet leaf and geranium combine to form an accord I've never quite smelled before - a mix of sweet, waxy, "ionone-y" and slightly mentholated - but it's more odd than enticing.

I am wearing this one today. Picked it up after purchasing another Roberto Cavalli Uomo flanker. I really love these. To me, they are hidden gems. The opening on this one is AMAZING. And stays powerful throughout. I will love wearing this in the day time/office. But will probably wear La Notte during the evening/nights out.

Very impressive perfume! Spent most of my 2021 spring with him. Sweet, aromatic, creamy, semi-fresh. Just look at the ingredients listed, almost an all star cast 😁 Quality is shockingly good, it doesn't smell synthetic at all ! Longevity and sillage above average. Three of my friends asked about it and got it themselves! 🤟

Powdery and creamy tonka bomb. It's sweet, too, and could get cloying yet there are unexpected contrasts in this. I don't see a sedentary person experiencing this as coherent or sophisticated. Rather its perfect for a young person - teens - 20s - active through the day and night.
