Serpentine 2025

LOVE at first sniff! I tried it in store today (The Perfume Shop, UK) and bought it on the spot. It's tropical, sweet and powdery, has a niche quality. It's airy, light, a bit tart in the opening, elegant and bright. It's tropical and resembles vacation scents, but without the sunscreen aspect. I get berries and citrus on opening, with a powdery and light vanilla dry-down. I have no idea why it's voted so low! It's a beautiful scent, and very different to what is currently being mass released and offered by most of highstreet fragrances. Honestly, a breath of fresh air! And I love the design of the bottle!!! You can take off the snake decoration, which is a bracelet/bangle, and it's beautiful, nicely done, not cheap looking. I will wear it with pleasure. I can tell a lot of thought has been put into this release, in the fragrance creation and the bottle design. Definitely for lovers of sweet and tropical, beach type of frags like: Sunkissed goddess by Kilian, Maui and Maldives by Kayali, some of the Sol de Janeiro mists (but not the most gourmand ones). It's not a buttery/creamy frag, but I pickup powderiness, like it has iris or violet (but it's not listed) and it has a bit of a marshmallow like vibe, maybe it's ylang ylang (also not listed)??? I also detect frangipani. The closest from what I have in my collection and from what I know, I'd say it has some similarities with M.Micallef Ylang in gold! But no banana-like undertones. More like powder covered candies, mixed with white florals and a dash of sunrays/sand/warm skin-but no salt, it's not a salty frag. I LOVE pathchouli and own a ton of patch frags, but no patch detected in this one! I have no idea what's with the notes list on here, but I don't get lavender either, and I own lavender frags too! Including Ysl Libre and Burberry Goddess, and this has no resemblance, when the notes listed seem so similar! If it's true, and all of the listed is in here, this is truly, masterfully blended! Longevity: I spritzed it around 5:30pm and 6h later it's still constantly under my nose, so wow... powerhouse! I used the tester in store, so if I have any different observations later on when using my bottle on different days, I'll let you know. Don't sleep on this fragrance. If you like any of the fragrances I have mentioned, test it. For someone who blind buys a lot, I must say, this is not blind buy safe! Side note: the price was a very nice surprise. Idk was that a promo/introductory price, but it's currently at £100 for 100ml and £52 for 50ml for parfum, not au parfum. Only the 100ml bottle comes with a bangle, 50ml doesn't get the decorative snake. I also had a 10% discount, so £90 for a brand new release of a 100ml was quite a shock (in a good way!) Second side note: this looks like a re-release of RC Serpent from 2005, and after checking the notes........the OG had frangipani and violet! My nose didn't deceive me. I never tried the old verion, so now I'm intrigued to try the OG and compare it!

Arabic kokuları anımsatan bir tarzı var, normalde pek sevmem ama bu fazlasiyla gizemli bir havaya sahip olduğu için hayır diyemedim. 100 ml aldım ama acaba daha küçüğünü mü alsaydım diye şüpheliyim. zaman verip gözlemleyeceğim kendimi. 30/35 yaş üzeri kadınlara uygun. Açılışı biraz zorlayıcı , listelenmesede yoğun şekilde acı badem hissediyorum sonrasında safran ve yasemin karışımı durdukça vanilya da hissediliyor. Kör alışa uygun değil, kışlık bir koku. Ama kesinlikle son kuruyuşta kendine çeken seksi bir yanı var. Sanki kokladıkça kafam karışıyor , sen neymişsin diyorum 😍 özel davetlerde özellike geceye çok yakışır. Hemen karar vermeyin küçük 5 ml sample edinin. Şişe tasarımındaki yılan harika bir bileklik oldu 😍 negatif yanı bende pek kalıcı olmadı oyüzden yüksek ücret ödediğim için üzgünüm. GÜNCELLEME: parfüm resmen durduğu yerde demlendi ve müthiş vanilya /deri kombinasyon patlaması hissediyorum..gayet kalıcı artık.. Deri derken bu bildiğimiz hakiki deri mağazalarına girince aldığımız keskin boyalı deri kokusu + sıcak vanilya... İlk mağazada kokladığımda o deri kokusunu acı bademe benzetmiştim.. Şimdi daha iyi anlıyorum..Çok yoğun çok iddialı ve çok seksiiii, ayrıca gizemli. Başta biraz maskülen gibi gelmişti ama bence bir kadına daha çok yakışır. Kuruyuşta odunsu bir keskinlik de hissediliyor sanırım paçuliden kaynaklı.. işte o biraz maskülenlik katıyor. Bu kokunun kıymeti zamanla anlaşılacak..

First things first: despite the name, get the original Serpentine out of your head when testing this one. If you're expecting something similar to the OG, you will be set up for disappointment. However, this fragrance stands on its own and lives up to its name. She is a temptress. Think Selma Hayek dancing with a python in the movie, From Dusk Til Dawn. (Google it and you'll immediately understand what I'm saying. The opening blast of saffron tickles my nose in the same intriguing way that Side Effect does, but the similarities don't go much further. The composition is an interesting blend of niche and designer sensibilities. She's bold yet intimate, mysterious--fit for a succubus. You know she's manipulating you in more than one way, but you don't know exactly how, nor do you want her to stop. Indeed. she has her audience and doesn't care to appeal to the masses. Love it.

I reviewed it when it just came out and it was summer and 25C where I live. Now in winter this leans a lot more powdery and get a bit of a leafy patchouli and the lavender - which I couldn't detect months ago! Might also be that the juice changed and matured few months since opening. I don't get any smokiness, but yes, I think a man can pull this off too, although it leans more feminine. There's this slightly lipsticky quality to this and airy sweetness. I still don't think it's heavy, it's very versatile and can be worn in warm and cold weather - not a lot of fragrances have this quality, epically if they have patchouli which is more cold weather suitable.

Bu parfüm oldukça olgun hatta maskülen sayılabilecek bir parfüm. Kesinlikle ferah bir parfüm değil hatta açılışı tamamen erkek parfümünü andırıyor. Koku sonrasında çok tatlı olmayan bir vanilya lavanta, safran ve paçuli ile devam ediyor. Çok hafif deri havası da alınıyor. Bir erkek bu parfümü çok rahat kullanabilir. Koku soğuk havalara ve kış günlerine uygun. Rutin kullanımı zor. Sıktıktan 2-3 saat sonra bir miktar lalique Encre Noire A L'Extreme parfümünü andırıyor. Yayılımı ve kalıcılığı yüksek. Kör alışa kesinlikle uygun değil

It’s definitely a challenging fragrance. Very wintery, but it can also be worn on autumn evenings. To wear and truly carry a scent like this, you need to be very serious, full of confidence, know what you want, and not let anyone control you. On me is a very spicy 🔥 vanilla with the support of saffron and patch with lavender smiling 😊 all the time, around your neck . Beautiful ❤️ work.

This new fragrance is far from vintage. People often associate florals with vintage, but this one is powerful, and full of personality. Warm, spicy, and sweet, it’s a long-lasting scent for an elegant, sexy woman. Unlike many recent repetitive launches, Serpentine feels deliciously unique — made for a woman with attitude and strong character

I absolutely adore this perfume. It's playful and sweet, but it's also complex with a bit of a heavier base. Ultimately, it's seductive. I wear it on nights out and it does get a lot of compliments. Initially only got a sample but absolutely buying the full size.

This fragrance is intriguing 🤔 Not easy to figure out. I am loving the dry down after a quick spray at Chemist Warehouse. I might have to pick up a 30ml. Update. This is niche quality to me. Love it. I've been wearing it so much during winter.

People on here are not right on the head voting on similar frags just because they have a... SNAKE DESIGN on the bottle or 'SERPENTINE' in the name 😂 go get a better hobby, GET A LIFE. Ysl black opium 'SNAKE JACKET' voted as similar? PLEASE.

I smell mint in the opening but i guess thats the lavender. A very refreshing kind of smoky lavender. Soothing. Love it!

i love it. Smells like tiramissu to me. It says women's perfume but men can use it too. It's unisex.

agree the initial spray is harsh, as theres a bit of a plastickness but it fades on the dry down and is a spicy warm skin scent, i really like it and was worth the money for the bracelet but wouldnt rush to repurchase

I had very different expectations on this fragrance by reading the pyramid. It actually turned out to be a very spicy and almost smokey perfume, with a ton of patchouli. I guess it seems more suitable to middle-aged women. I don't think it would appeal much to a younger audience, because it feels quite heavy. Honestly I enjoy the drydown way more than the opening.

Im very surprised it doesnt not have any oud in the notes , i thought its entirely oud . Its good dont get me wrong but it smells like oud , spicy , a bit animalic and metallic . It leans more unisex . I would love to have a sample / decant of it since i dont have oud smelling perfumes but i wouldnt buy full bottle although the bottle is gorgeous

This is SO strong! It hits me first with the saffron and patchouli (which I don't really like on myself as it pulls quite sour). It smells rich, like a more mature lady who's got an expensive lifestyle. Not for me but definitely could imagine this smelling amazing on someone else!

At first spray it was fresh and lively, but unfortunately, on my skin all I could smell within 10 minutes was vanilla and nothing else. Definitely doesn't work for me.

I am shocked someone has described this as airy. It's very strong. I had to check a few times that oud wasn't in the notes, because it is a very oud and middle eastern coded fragrance. Also the notes listed here aren't correct. I have a sample and pink pepper, cardamon, bergamot, jasmine, saffron, rose petal, vanilla, patchouli and cypriold essence are listed on their packaging. I guess the strength is the lavender, patchouli, cypriol, pink pepper and synthetic saffron jostling for attention. It doesn't sing, it screeches. I feel like I could love this if it was done better but there doesn't seem to be much harmony. The lavender has a dry powder to it like English over French. Bergamot doesn't do much. The pink pepper gives it a little depth. The dry down is a little better, a little softer, powdery from lavender and white flowers, soapier, with less screaming, but there seems to be an underlying herbaceous bitterness from the cypriol that I don't enjoy. The vanilla stops it from being entirely green but isn't a strong note. It's much better and softer on skin and not one I would overspray or put on my clothes. It's not a safe blind buy. It could be unisex. I think it is one that others could be overpowered by or get a headache from if over sprayed. Longevity is good. Sillage is strong.

Reminding me of cheap synthetic oud/saffron perfumes being made nowadays. Even bottle looks cheap. Not even close to original Serpentine.

I received a sample of this in the mail around a week ago and instantly bought a full bottle. It's stunning. I really adore strong warm woody fragrances for going out in the evening during the colder months and this is everything I want. It's unashamedly sensual. You get a little fruity citrus in the opening but to me this is fleeting. It transforms into a beautiful blend of patchouli, saffron, vanilla, musk and jasmine. Maybe it's too loud for some. The projection, sillage and longevity is excellent. I don't know if I'd say its beast mode but it's a heavy hitter which I love. I feel a bit shy saying this but it makes me feels sexy. I would literally pour myself into a beautiful outfit and a pair of heels and feel like a queen wearing this. I can see why this was originally launched in the Middle East. It's so Dubai coded although there's no oud. Expensive smelling, beautiful and sexy. It's also available at an amazing price in the UK. It's a new love.

Middle Eastern style done in a softer and more palatable “designer” way. I get saffron over a vanilla-patchouli base. Smooth and smoky sweet, hint of spice. First spray I almost smell oud and/or praline. I absolutely love the first spray. Reminds me of Van Cleef & Arpels Oud Blanc, or a possible release from Kayali. However it fades fast, remains a muddled soft vanilla-patchouli on my skin and clothes. I wish it kept the strength and dazzle of the first spray. Overall it’s nice, but the dry down doesn’t have the punch of the opening. Also for reference: the snake can only be removed and used as a bracelet on the largest 3.4oz bottle.

the bottle at sephora was mostly empty so i only got the tiniest spritz but i’m very intrigued! creamy fluffy vanilla that’s not boring. edit: i don’t know what i was getting that day, or maybe the drydown gets better but it is a difficult and pungent perfume I had to throw away the strip because of how nauseating it was. I even waited half an hour just to see if it was drying down in a better direction but no.

Im a niche girlie at heart and I finally got a whif of this at CWH. Bought it instantly, but only the 30ml. Im usually not a patchouli girl and my partner really dislikes it too- but we both like this!!! Will order a FB soon. It could just be my nose, but the composition comes across as a cool toned spice & vanilla- which for me is so unusual with so many saffron inclusive fragrances

Not a review, just a question. Cavalli used to have a discontinued perfume called Serpentine. Did they revamp it and relaunch it? Also, the bottle of the discontinued one was so beautiful, also with a snake design, but embedded in the glass. This bottle looks tacky to me. Strange! Usually, Cavalli scents have beautiful, elegant bottles.

I smelled it today. It’s a vintage scent, like a perfume from the 90’s or early 2000’s I would smell on cool mums that I thought they smelled good and were well dressed when I was a kid. Sweet tropical smoke. Not my type of scent but it’s very beautiful and nostalgic. It smells expensive and lasts a very long time.

Interesting fragrance. It’s smokey and a bit sweet and slightly herbal. To me, it’s very masculine. A man can wear this without problem. It’s a strong and memorable scent, but at the same time it is not overpowering. It’s really elegant. A good choice for a self-confident person.

Oh I'm loving the way reviews on this! And you can even take the snake/bracelet off to wear I hear? ... I need to get my nose on this ASAP. Need a trip to the perfume shop !
