Roccobarocco

This was a real bestseller in Italy between 80s and 90s. I've never disliked This scent but as it was everywhere and usually chosed by women with a lot of make up and bad taste: those who want to be noticed. I ve never totally considered as a refined scent. But it is. I was wrong. This is a true masterpiece in balance. It is deep and light, soapy and sensual, soliflower and a concert of notes. Creamy and metal. Airy seduction: smell like a tropical fat flower. At the same time I could swear to sense every single note. Orange blossoms ylang Narcissus Santal jasmine peach tuberose benzoin bergamot amber.. Divine. Refined and spectacular perfect in every season. I believe you have to use just a few drop of it to fully appreciate this perfume. It is a like a classic cologne for man but concentrated and adjusted for woman. Nice "surprise". I love it. High Resemblances with Giorgio Beverly Hills (they shares Almost the same notes Giorgio is more bright and "fresh" hight gardenia and a huge sandal that give it that incense presence where RB is more yellow honeyed) and some sides of Vanderbilt and Jontue the first Joan Collins.. P.S.: the scent named Roccobarocco Extraordinary is the 2000s redition of this one. Almost identical with some obvious little differences. It was created in 1986, no1987. Giorgio arrives in Italy in 1989 firsts 90s.

This was my fragrance from the time it came out until the mid 90's...I love it and have a tiny bit left in a tiny bottle. I long for this scent to return like a phoenix from the flames one day!!

Preso per natale del 1986/87 Mi piaceva il suo odore ricco, dorato,caldo e festoso,lo sentivo in perfetta sintonia con l'atmosfera natalizia,le feste, i dolci,le luci e il calore. Molto saturo di fiori,una nota verde che li introduce e poi lascia esibirsi tutti gli elementi presenti: frutti,tuberosa,fiori dall'odore carnoso e pieno,benzoino,resine calde e dolci,una scia intensa dal colore dell'oro sfumata di scuro nello sfondo.

The strongest note or accord here is what I call "suntan lotion jasmine." There is also a hint of fruit (peach I'd say is most obvious), though I do try to avoid top notes, so keep that in mind. Clearly, alehydes are present, but I don't find them to be irritating, as is sometimes the case. After about an hour or so, it dries down into something really nice, with excellent balance. It's a light sandalwood, with a hint of powder and sweetness. The suntan lotion jasmine persists, but becomes one of many notes working in harmony. I'd rather wear this than so many typical vanillic/woody men's fragrances of today (I'm male), so long as I would be able wait about an hour to get to the drydown. Otherwise, the opening would be a bit too "feminine" for me to go out in public with.

Is this still produced? Long time no see ... I used it in the early 90es but now I could no longer. It's very persistent with a strong fruity touch.
