Aquawoman

Nothing beats this one for me and on me. Very attractive, exotic and sensual, bright and warm but with a cool salty humid oceanic breeze (not beachy, and not Mediterranean oceanic, more tropical beach on a 50% humidity day) to cool down your hot summer and early autumn nights. This smells best in dry climates - becomes too heavy for humid places as it already smells humid. Also great for day. In fact Aquawoman starts off bright and fresh and slightly feminine in a ‘I’m not looking for love, I’m just feel sexy’ way, and warms throughout the day into a still very fresh but yummy sensual marine base towards the end of the day (the mango musk is key). Perfect for day to night wear. I fell off my chair when they discontinued and have about 5 sprays left kept in the refrigerator lol. Almost spent $400 buying a second hand bottle (don’t). This was my signature scent and my all time favourite next to Polo Sport for women. But WAIT. After years of research and searching, Hermes Eau De Merveilles Bleue is so so close! Just body shop mango moisturise yourself, 3 spritz of HEDMB and you are pretty much Aquawoman again (sans the rose notes :( ....) works for my skin type and I hope it does for yours! Did I already mention that Rochas is my favourite perfume house? Whatever they create it is a sheer masterpiece. I rely on their fragrances unseeingly or should I say unsniffedly? Aquawoman was no exception. I loved it from the very first time I tried and thought I needed to own it. And then I came to the question: why on earth they have to discontinue the production of their best fragrances? But to make a long story short the point is I am a proud owner of a bottle of Aquawoman by now. The fragrance itself begins with a burst of aquatic accords (and it doesn't smell synthetic like in the most aquatic fragrances), followed by bergamot and leading to the listed note, faint rose. Although the notes listed in the heart are lily and rose, I detect only some indefinable flowery sweetness with some very light wood. There is something extremely sexy about the drydown. I have to agree with those who mentioned the cologne resemblance. There is nothing particularly feminine about it to my nose and it certainly doesn't smell at all too masculine for a woman to wear either. It feels as sexy as wearing your beloved's shirt.

I was lucky to get my hands on its original version. It leans a bit masculine for my taste, but I can still see myself reaching for it often on hot summer days. This is a truly intriguing fragrance. The marine notes are spot-on—I sprayed it on my arm to test, and as I lay down, it occasionally radiated a salty, fun marine scent. It smelled so good that I kept trying to catch that salty marine effect again and again. Thanks to the bergamot, it has a pleasant, acidic citrusy touch, though it’s so light that you can barely detect it. Meanwhile, the mango and hibiscus add a subtle sweetness to the salty marine notes, creating a truly unique combination. One moment, it’s the scent of the salty sea; the next, it’s like you’re sipping a cocktail on the beach. I don’t understand why this isn’t being sold anymore because, in my opinion, it’s an amazing perfume. It’s perfect for those who are tired of mainstream fragrances. Also, a word of advice—it’s best when applied in moderation. If you overspray, it starts smelling like you’ve fallen into a barrel of aftershave lotion.

To all of you who are wondering about Aquawomen, I recommend it sincerely. I would consider this to be one of the most remarkable perfumes I have ever had - a real stunner. It is a true marine scent, but much much sharper then Cool Water and other ocean-themed fragrances, a little bit masculine (being very sharp and long lasting, like most of the male perfumes), but still a scent strictly for women. I would never describe this as a subtle - It has all the qualities to get you in the center of the attention: overpowering but not offensive, sexy, sparkling and fresh. I don't see romantic and quiet woman wearing this; it's for powerful and energetic ones only.Aquawomen has attitude and style. A real ego-boost :) It's not only a great, refreshing summer scent; it can also be worn in cold days and the bottle is so gorgeous and classy. All of this makes it a five star perfume in my book. ;)

...Continued from my Post last week. So, I've been liberally spritzing this on for over a week, and yes I've spent waaaay too much for this. Unless I've been sorely duped by the seller and I've bought a dud, this Aquawoman is completely a joke. The only thing I can smell is faint salt water, and even that fades within the hour. For almost $200.00 I am sick, knowing what a great fragrance I could have had for that. Very disappointed. This is the last of my Blind Buys, at least as recommended on this website. :( Update: March 2019. Spring is here in south Florida, and I've just been going through my perfume/fragrance collection, needing something for this bright, fresh day. Today, I took this beauty from its box and applied liberally after my morning shower. OMG. How did I ever question this amazing aroma??? And now I see it's around $350 on Amazon and Ebay!!!

I can't get over that Rochas discontinued two of their fabulous fragrances, namely, Alchimie and Aquawoman. Aquawoman is perhaps the best aquatic creation I have ever came across. The watery and floral notes entwine in a way to give you a taste of a real ocean water... When I wear Aquawoman, I see myself sat down on the sea shore... shells and pebbles get washed on and on by the ocean weaves... the ocean foam is so cool and refreshing... I hear seagulls and albatrosses dancing above the ocean surface... I feel hot sand melting under my feet and the sun kissing my skin... suddenly, I smell flowers... I turn and open my eyes... it is my beloved husband walking with a bunch of roses and lilies... This is Aquawoman for me...

I recently helped my friend (who is much older than me) clean up his house. The house had nearly not been touched at all for two years. My friend's wife left a few years ago and left some of her things. I found a lot of cool old stuff including this perfume. I love the scent and have been wearing it every day since I found it. It is a lighter brighter scent that is acceptable for everyday use. It is airy and floral, sweet but not too sweet. I am disappointed to find out they discontinued this franfrance, especially since there wasn't a whole lot left when I found the bottle :(

All the recent posts complaining about this scent and its longevity - please bare in mind that this perfume is discontinued since arround 2008. So the bottles you buy online are very old and the scent has changed it's notes. I know because I own a bottle of this perfume that changed overtime. I remember the scent when it was on the market and freshly made - everyone on the street kept asking me about it....It was amazing, such a shame for Rochas do discontinue a perfume like this :(

for me this is a unique scent. the only fresh scent that my mother liked. She likes heavy, viscous, floral and floral chypre scents. sometimes sweet sometimes not. musk. amber. oud. jasmine in a concentration that causes an atomic explosion and global extinction of species. She hates the light scent of a flower meadow, hates the scent of sea freshness.. but this scent is an exception. recognition from someone who basically hates such scents is the best possible praise.

I am carried away by the beauty and aquatic freshness by Aqua Woman. I can feel the warm rays of the sun warming my skin gently as the transparent blue beach water rushes and recedes. A cool breeze carries tropical flowers and sweet salty spray in my hair. Little colorful fish are swimming around my feet as I walk through the shallow beach. The notes of ocean, tender flowers, mild fruit and amber notes are so warm and cooling, like the sweet sea breeze Ah....

...so, I put this away for two years...now, it's June 2016, and suddenly I am compelled to write another review (I wasn't too taken with this perfume in 2014, I see...) Don't know what's changed about my chemistry, but now I am enchanted with Aquawoman! I am surrounded by a cloud of summertime oceanic breeze - ! Longlasting, sparkling and fresh! And I have 3/4 bottle left to enjoy this long, hot summer!

I reluctantly bought this last week, untested, and I am glad that I did. I absolutely adore this scent! When I spray this, it evokes images of an ocean breeze,wafting through windows on a hot summer day. The moment you smell this fragrance, you are left feeling instantly refreshed. I don't understand why this scent was discontinued when there are so many other (vile) perfumes in the Rochas range.

Finally I found another fragrance I could fall in love with! At first it reminded me of a romantic cologne my father used to wear but in a female version but then it has this fresh and aquatic (but not soapy!) note to it. Unlike any other "blue"/aquatic perfumes this one really fits the underwater scenery. I have to admit it reminds me of the movie Into The Blue.

I was lucky to get several decants of this perfume. It smells divine! The most feminine aquatic perfume which doesn't smell like bathroom freshener. I've tried many aquatic fragrances, but nothing smells even close to Aquawoman. 300 EUR for the bottle is not worth it, but if you see someone selling decants, it's worth trying!

Ordered this on Amazon and it arrived today. So far, what I'm getting is fresh, watery, oceanic...projection around a 6. Time will tell regarding Aquawoman's longevity. Something is telling me I paid waaaaay too much for this blind buy (I'll blame it all the rave reviews on Fragrantica!!)...to be continued...

This is one of the best ozonic/marine scent, a romantic sexy sophisticated freshness that takes you to those fruity hills over the sea. This is niche! A very hard-to-find fragrance...but a must have!! Love it. 10/10

I used to love this fragrance and searched for something similar for years. Aqva Divina by Bvlgari is pretty close, imo. It has the same aquatic and sharp, a bit masculine and strong character.

Skin scent cool dry, unisex salty bergamot rose excellent for a 30+ degrees humid day. Try before you buy! The vegetable like mango imitation is goregeous. No regrets...

Dear Rochas, please bring it back! After all these years, I am still thinking of it. It is, by far, the best fragrance, ever, for me. Please reconsider!

I have found something similar. It doesn't last as long as Aquawoman used to on my skin but the smell is almost the same. MAC TURQUATIC unisex

I love this perfume as much as I love swimming!I swim regularly and I always wanted to know what perfume would match the times I'm diving to the turquoise water and I've found it! though I'm not a sincere fan of sea notes,it's very well mixed in this one.it's a bit salt like ocean water,but it also has some lovely floral and aquatic notes that doesn't let it smell too salt. it smells fresh,without being freezing.after about 5 minutes I think I can smell something like mint.exactly like blue mint gums that makes you fresh,whenever I smell my wrist I feel refreshed and chill. the bottle says it all about this perfume and the color of bottle is just right.if you look at carefully there are some signs on the bottle that resemble to water waves.it's not just a typical summer fragrance.it can even be wore in colder months of year. I see here that all of reviews are positive too and it seems that I wasn't the only one who adores it because I like swimming!I can't wait to take a bottle of it in my collection.I just hope I can find it.

Reminds very much of Aqua Di Gio (for men) by Armany (which I like very much on my friend), but really never expected it in a female fragrance...That is why my descision to love Aquawoman or not is still in process. If I hadn't smelled Aqua di Gio pour homme, the answer would be definitely "Yes!". Now I just can say that I like it: it's fresh and quite comfort to wear, I wouldn't say it's too masculine...It is better to say that male fragrances similar to this one are just too feminine :)Kind of fresh aquatic fragrances, very popular these days, which cheap clones are very widespread unfortunately...:( Long-lasting enough. At least 6 hours on me.

It's like walking on the dunes -- not the beach! -- and smelling the wild flowers as well as the sun and salt and sand. I love the fragrance, but it barely lasts an hour on me and it's barely there to begin with. If it were stronger I would wear it all the time. As it is, it's not even worth it, especially with a mask on. If it weren't so pricy I would bring the bottle with me and reapply throughout the day.

sea,feezzzz note ,aquatic and rosy touch ! thats wht i can say about Aquawoman, so fresh strange and clean note i cant get that mango note any where but its so fresh and great !! i wear it about 5 years ago the bottle itself is so strange and attractive with that shell shaped i consider it one o f the successful fragrances by Rochas !! i like that perfume

It's an aquatic scent that leaves no one indifferent, people will ask you what you're wearing! It's fresh and soft, with a slight fruity-floral accord, and you can really smell the sea breeze! It reminds me of those turquoise and endless Polynesian beaches...

This is such a distinctive, marine, refreshing scent. Great for the hot summer! Very long lasting. Just love it! Unfortunately it's not manifactured any longer...

For my aquatic and ozonic lovers out there: pure marine is not like aquatic at all. You probably have smelled this in the 90s-early 2000s. This is sharp. The only analogy I can think of is sal ammoniac. But not unpleasant and made into a perfume. When it settles, it becomes more feminine, but this woman is no pretty little flower. This is powerful and a bit mature, like 40 and up.

This fragrance reminds a lot light floral Lumiere by Rochas, too, only this one is aquatic also. Not my cup of tea.

yessss...just got my 100ml bottle of this...I am so happy...found it hidden away in a equally well hidden owner's fragrance boutique in my home town. I actually knew it was there a long time ago...I just never actually brought myself to pay 75 euros for it. well now I did and its a good investment :))lovely...a bit masculine, peppery but also a good flower aquatic an actually soft enough. its addictive an has good silage and lasting power. the bottle....gooorgeous like a shell with a nice metallic detail around the cap. the cap itself...heavier than the bottle :)))) could be a weapon, must have like 200 grams, kidding. beautiful scent altogether. perfect for summer and sporty people. Casual frag for everyday delight. so happy to own it :) so enthusiastic ...ok I will stop now...thanks...bye :)))

Loved the top and heart notes, it's divine, and I usually like those notes, however, the dry down is definitely patchouli which is not listed. I don't care for patch unless it's very well blended and not discernible. So this is a pass, though the top notes are lovely and surprising. If you like Coco Mademoiselle but want some fresher more aquatic top notes, here you go. but the base note is big on patchouli like CM. I'm surprised it's discontinued, it's way better than others out there in this category such as Eau de Marveilles Blue but for some odd reason they always discontinue the good ones. Although for me the patch makes it a pass.

This is a very unusual perfume, quite unisex, almost masculine. The Salt note in combination with the Bergamot makes it quite dry. The Rose is restrained through the opening, but blossoms in the heart. Although it is not a listed note, I get a good whiff of Lavender, although this could be attributable to a tart, unsweetened Hibiscus. I find not Lily of the Valley whatsoever. This perfume could also be in an "Aquatic Fougere" men's category. Good strength, but weak sillage. While I do like this scent, I think much more affordable options are currently widely available all over the men's market.

Well, I finally got to him. The first 10 minutes, cool, frost, ozone. Sea resembles remotely. And then popped up in the memory, the smell that I've heard more than once. Wearing just did not wear, but I know it. And a male scent, obviously on me male notes issued does not want this to wear. Let's look at the notes, you see, and really gave Acqua di Gio Giorgio Armani. So that's what it looks like! Similarly, almost one to one, Aquawoman a little thinner, and Acqua di Gio just with a touch of green herbs. No-o girls, I do not want to smell, Acqua di Gio is in the liver sits on every corner it.

Simin Shaikh mentioned on youtube that Mithqal Ard Al Zaafaran smells very similar, and that the notes breakdown of Mithqal on Fr are wrong, they are: Top Notes: Bergamot, Roses, Sea Notes Middle Notes: Roses, Lilies, Hibiscus Bottom Notes: Amber, Mango, Musk Which makes it more similar to Aquawoman, bc when I looked there, I was like Whaaat? Anyway, as this got so pricy I thought someone might want to try Mithqal (not a dupe but similar).

When the weather is bad and rainy and everything around me seems grey and sad, I need a fragrance that reminds me the sea. Aquawoman is a very particular scent. I smell and I imagine ocean, freedom, a reef that has been covered wih salt, wild waves, wind. I dont't smell algues or fishes. It is pure freedom, in a elegant way. On my skin it's quite dry. A little beautiful masterpiece in the range of marine scents.

Aquawoman is mariner on sailboat. Under the sun, in the middle of the blue eternal surface. Searching for favorable wind and cutting the sea. Proud like cruising seagull, and brisk as golden light reflecting the water. Masculine above all. I asked a friend once what perfume are you wearing, he replied Aquawoman. We laughed. I think the answer would even be funnier if he was wearing Aquamen.
