L'Homme Rochas

Just picked this up and wore it for a night... This is a very good fragrance. I own Moustache EDP and I think it is OK, but L'Homme Rochas smells superior in quality and is a great execution of a Blue Fragrance. Scent/Use: I can smell the cardamon, patchouli and the geranium. There was a waf of pineapple, but it seemed to be gone nearly immediately. I don't have a great, cultured nose as others do, but I've smelled enough clones/designers to know when a fragrance smells cheap, screechy, synthetic, and unnecessarily loud... This one is the polar opposite. The scent is pleasant, sophisticated, and versitile. It changes in the dry down and loses the fruit component, IMO, but is still extremely attractive. Based on my experience in one night, and the compliments of others, this might be in the regular rotation for Spring and Summer. I also contend that any and all Blue Fragrances are safe for the office, when not overapplied. Comparables... While it reminds me of BdC, I don't think it smells like BdC. It also reminds my of Missoni Parfum Por Homme, but it doesn't smell like a clone of it. I like this scent more than Acqua Di Gio Profoundo, D&G Light Blue, or Versace Pour Homme. I use those three scents as examples because the circumstances for wearing them would be the circumstances I would wear L'Homme Rochas, but not because L'Homme Rochas smells like those three. If I were going to a "dressed up" event, I would still opt for BdC, Dior Homme Sport, or Prada L'Homme. Value: I paid $18 for this (50 ml), and for that price, it's one of the best deals on the planet. If you are just getting into fragrances, and you're on a tight budget - this is one you should pick up. The only downside I had was that 4 hours later, it seemed to be fading fast. So, if I'm going to be wearing this at the office (and I will be), I will need to give myself one more neck spray after lunch (just one). UPDATE: Great scent, but either I go nose blind after 2 hours, or the longevity is really poor. Because of this, I can't really trust it during the day (because I don't won't to over apply it). That's a real bummer. I was expecting it to be in my Spring rotation for daily wear.

what dior sauvage should be. yes this a blue fragrance, but not JUST ANOTHER blue fragrance. it has that shower gel vibe but with something more refined, the famous ambroxan is present but not dominant. the opening is a bit fruity with pineapple and orange, in the drydown there are floral notes and juniper berries and this combo gives a calmy, soft effect like tea. more airy and classy than the other blue competitors. no bubblegum here. after 2-3 hours u can find the same sweetness of dior sauvage but toned down. another important factor is the compliment. i used in the last 3 days and i received compliments like " u smell good" "what are u wearing?", and it's quite rare, so many compliments in just 3 days... the performance is strange, it works like prada l'homme: u think is gone but it is still there. in the first hour it projects very good and there are many chances to get compliments. after that, projection and sillage are definitely softer. longevity is pretty good, i think other blue fragrances like sauvage or dylan blue are better performers. in the overall, this is your blue fragrance if you want something more refined, less in your face and super-versatile. fits good on young and mature people, very casual with no teeny vibe. spring and summer are the best seasons for rochas l'homme. of course there is no revolution here but a very solid release. rochas l'homme è un profumo della categoria blu, ma meno banale di tanti altri. più arioso e raffinato rispetto a dior sauvage o altri simili, ha una discreta performance che nella prima ora consentirà di avere complimenti come è successo a me. non sottovalutatelo! scent-8,5 long-7,5 sillage-7 versatility-9 uniqueness-7 bottle design-7,5 compliment factor- 8,5 rebuy?no my vote- 8,5 in one word- discreet

On first smell, I couldn't really smell what this was all about. I needed to spray it on my skin and spray a bunch. It's not very strong, but after I sprayed this all over and it dried down, I can tell you that the smell is excellent, and the combination of fragrance components is great. I don't know quite what to say about this one, but I feel like agreeing and disagreeing for you about things other people below me on here wrote. Finally I think I found something that trumps Cool Water Intense in terms of scent profile that I love, becuase I adore that DNA but it was a little too "simple" and I never got that beast mode performance that people rave about. This smells similar but with so much more depth owing to that blood orange and hint of cardamom in the opening, giving it citrusy/sweet/fresh yet spicy opening. The juniper in the mid adds to slightly fruity nuances; and the dry down with tonka gives it a pleasant sweet base and smells very similar to CWI but these notes adds to it layers, which works in its favour. Performance is a little underwhelming for now, about 5 hours on skin with first hour of good projection, I have kept it for maceration so I hope that it improves as I absolutely adore this! The performance is quite similar to CW Intense on my skin but atleast this is not pretending to be a beast mode with linear smell, the class and depth and the presentation adds to it charm. Quite pleased with this frag and I think I can make it my signature owing to its versatility and smell, just hope the performance improves, that would make this an instant masterpiece for me. If you can get his below €30 that is an excellent deal, get it ASAP!
