Monsieur Rochas Eau de Cologne

Coming with a second comment for this gem. Monsieur Rochas is one of the nicest vintage fragrances I have ever come across. Bright citrus, charismatic chamomile, intelligent oakmoss - all balanced to perfection. Good for all year round, never too fresh for winter, nor too strong for summer. If it was in production, Monsieur would be my signature fragrance without any doubt. Unfortunately since it is long gone from production, I treasure my 60ml bottle to bits, only giving whiffs of this magnificent juice every now and then. I have hopes that Rochas will one day bring it back, just how they did with Moustache, which I have ordered a bottle recently. Monsieur is not in the limelight when it comes to vintage discontinued fragrances, however it has to be among the best. Highly highly suggest you to look into this one if you are a fan of vintages. If this isn't class for you then I don't know what is. 10/10

This is just..... WOW! A true gentlemen's scent as well as my favorite old school fragrance. Very glad to own this because they don't make fragrances like this anymore. It smells like a mossy and citrusy barbershop fougere with a magnificent note of chamomile. Just heard that Rochas is re-launching it's classic fragrance "Moustache" in it's original formula as well as an EDP concentration. However I have not tried it yet. This means that it might, just might be possible that they will bring back Monsieur as well! Goodness, if that happens, it would be the best thing that has ever happened to me in my fragrance journey!

Some chypre can come off as "cheap" and "eh". This, truly has that french R, which stands for: ROCHAS! I love it. Such an elegant, understated, classy gentleman scent. Timeless elegance. -AB-

It's just okay. Monsieur Rochas EDC has that classic, older fragrance vibe, but overall I find it underwhelming, and overhyped. Performance is on the weak side. There are many others in this neighborhood that smell better for the same or less price.

It is an EdC, it is fleeting. In the five minutes it blooms, the tobacco topnotes - I am referring to tobacco leaves, not tobacco additives like cherry or plum - play along with spicy, herbal and woody notes (I cannot identify which). I can also sense animalic tones, civet and an animalic musk a la early 70s, maybe. It is very much like many of its times, Yatagan comes to mind, also R&G Open (even though the it was launched later). But this is denser, smoother, I would say it has some finesse the others lack, maybe because of florals. It is a beautiful blend. For the times we live in, pretty original. I have the feeling it would be cherished by perfumistas if it were available today. Maybe dated? Still, well crafted, that is, what it takes to overcome the weight of time. PS: Don't let "EdC" fool you. I applied liberally, could not feel any of it in no time. A very humid day today (20° C / 68° F, 99% humidity), it bloomed after light sweating. And after some hours I could sense a totally different scent on me. In that sense, very old school - a time when grooming did not involve shrieking loud scents with the potential effect of imposing sillage on everybody else.
