Muse de Rochas

I find this scent to be beautiful. It's the first and only one I've tried from this perfume house. For me it has a bit of a split personality in that it begins slightly fruity, slightly green but mostly clean and soapy with a powder/dusty,salty sweetness as in Lolita Lempicka, like ChypreAnn mentioned. As it dries down, the sandalwood becomes extremely apparent on my skin. I wonder if that's why one of the reviews likened it to Samsara. The sandalwood in this reminds me of Estee Lauder Sensuous but Muse de Rochas is much sweeter and more feminine..while Sensuous takes on a more sappy, resinous vibe.Muse de Rochas manages to pull off sweet-fresh-clean and sultry-woody at the same time.Sure....I also found it at a bargain price at TJMaxx....but I wouldn't discredit it because of that....it's very nice and worth the money in my opinion. Initially I bought a bottle for myself and then went back to buy a bottle for my 20 year old step-daughter for Christmas. I'm hoping it will be just what she craves...as she is trying to transition into wearing more "grown-up" fragrances. I think this one might satisfy that requirement as it retains the sweetness of youth yet also offers a certain edginess found in the bizarre combo of notes and the spicy-woody-musky base. I can't say that the banana leaf ever really stood out but then again I can't say that I have ever smelled a banana leaf to know what one smells like. I'm guessing it lends to that fresh, green (slightly bitter) quality. I'm looking forward to smelling more from Rochas!

There's Rochas DNA here. I got a waft of Femme when I wore this yesterday and started to sweat while doing housework (is that the bergamot, peach and cinnamon?) This is nice. Low sillage, decent longevity. Banana is more noticeable if you spray with gusto. Smells artistic, I think the name Muse is befitting. As is the purple bottle. Kinda lets you know you're about to smell something weird but appealing. Note: I sampled Perry Ellis 360 Purple and did not think it was very similar. 360 Purple was much less tropical smelling, much more floral and musky. Update: Upgraded from "like" to "love." The more I wear Muse, the more I adore it! The banana leaf note weaves in and out, and the tropical notes play so nicely with the musk and amber. It has so much of what I love in a fragrance--green notes, orange flower, peach, and amber-- and is really perfect for hot weather. I appreciate how it's tropical without coconut, so it smells beachy but not like tanning oil. I'd love more sillage, but because it doesn't scream loudly, it's a perfect scent for work. It lifts my mood but won't disturb my coworkers (who seem to get migraines from EVERYTHING.) For the price, I don't mind having to spray a lot, those sprays DO last all day, although I get sad every time I see the fill line getting lower and lower...

I am so thrilled to have found this beauty blind at Marshalls for $14.99 per 1.6 oz. Just gorgeous! It is a fruity floral but divine and sophisticated, not Kool-Aid or cheap body spray. I can smell each of the listed notes and I can also detect violet like some other reviewers, although it is not listed. It smells like the fanciest candy or perhaps a delicious fruity cocktail made with fresh juices and top shelf liqour. I didn't really know what to expect, but Rochas rang a bell, it is an EDP, and made in France. I'm starting to notice that french manufacture at least gives an indication of quality, like french wine, cosmetics or lingerie. Those French know a thing or two about the feminine arts. The bottle is really gorgeous, with smokey purple glass and an almost heart shape. The cap is well crafted and snaps into place firmly. The outside of the box is basic but it is lined in violet lace print on a white background. It says "Une Muse sommeille en chaque Femme" just inside the box top, which google translates to "a muse lives inside every woman." Isn't that lovely? I'm starting to feel quite talented at blind buys, but I could never do it without Fragrantica! It's quite a thrill to pick a gem out of a cluster of celeb frags and outdated fashion house throwaways. I'm a happy lady!

Sometimes we blame a house for not performing to our standards. We expect every perfume they produce to be at some invisible standard we have set for them and if their newest creation has not towed this line, all hell breaks loose. I have read negativity posed at Muse and I don't know why. It's a delightful little oriental floral that sits close to the skin after it drys down. It eventually becomes a woody vanilla with a light musk dancing with swirls of resin. It's a surprise perfume because its beginning is nothing like its ending and I like that. It sits close to the skin making it perfect for a variety of uses, the office, close encounters, small spaces...you can figure this one out. There is a definitive powdery finish which is quite nice when the florals come back out to announce themselves. Sometimes I just want a perfume that's demure, dainty, coy and exquisite in its presentation and Muse fits this bill. It lasts quite a few hours happily for me and the bottle fits heftily in my hand. It's a beautiful dark lilac color with a metallic cap, no plastic and gold lettering on the front. Yes, sometimes I do want a feminine perfume that speaks of gentleness, not weakness. Muse de Rochas sustains a number of these qualities.

Lightly, delicately, perfectly divine. I usually favor the dark, spicy, mysterious, smoky orientals and powerhouse vintage fragrances, but this blend is a rare and special exception. It is poetry. Rochas is a true master. Gently sweet and soft but mesmerizingly gorgeous, it smells more expensive that it is. I smell the most beautiful florals mixed with rain and fine sandalwood blended with a lovely musk. This is a wedding day scent; a naked honeymoon smell. Of all the "nudes" going on right now, I choose Rochas Muse as The Perfect Nude. Other than a wedding, this scent brings the imagery of a lovely nude woman in repose while her artist lover paints her laying across their passion bed with a window of rainy rivulets as the background. The perfect light sweetness with a hint of peachy tart, sheer, perfectly blended, nothing too sharp, sour or sticking out, no fruit punch or candied pralines (Thank you, Rochas!) I think of fine ivory satin and French lace in a not-so-innocent way when I smell this. I usually do novels for reviews. I won't bore you to tears with this one because it is just simply beautiful, purely classic yet unique... and the name is perfectly fitting. Muse. Yes, Muse! :)

Soft, subtle, good for the office and professional settings, unobtrusive but noticeable. Mango and peach are well paired with a citrus that keeps it from becoming too sweet. The white florals are soft and sweet, and play well with the fruit. Musky, but more strongly vanilla, with a distinct amber note in the drydown. It is as different from Femme Rochas as possible; about the same "distance" as Eclat d’Arpège is from Arpege. Nonetheless, this on me is a soft fruity floral with a long, lovely drydown. I wear it to work quite often. Not a lot of compliments, since this wears very close, but very enthusiastic responses from those who manage to get a whiff. A little powdery violets on drydown, but mostly the florals are bright, white and sweet. Projection virtually nonexistent, longevity 5 or 6 hours, no silage to speak of.

It has taken me several weeks to be able to talk about Muse de Rochas as I am so frustrated that it is one of those rare perfumes that you occasionally find that you cannot smell on yourself shortly after applying ! I cannot even rate the notes other than the banana leaf as within a few minutes I just cannot smell them to pick them out,and can only detect the faintest whiff if I breathe on my wrists,whereas others can smell it on me ! All I do know is that this is a lovely,original perfume which reminds me a little of the original Lumiere which I loved,but then it's gone. A very dissapointing experience for me as I was so looking forward to receiving it and it wasn't cheap, but I still love it and will wear it, I'm just sad that I am not able to enjoy it properly .

My first experience with Muse de Rochas was Hmmm...where'd it go? I left it alone for a few days..One night I sprayed some on my neck & cleavage before bedtime and found it develops into the most intimate smell! Wears very close to the skin..not intrusive to others. After 8 hrs I can still smell the heavenly, almost secret scent on myself. Mango and vanilla in the opening, hours later I pick up the banana, so unique. I wear it to the office often! The only thing I would suggest is that you give it a try before buying, my daughter's chemistry only lasted about 30 minutes. So, that being said, Muse either loves you or leaves you! Beautiful. I normally prefer bolder scents with at least a moderate projection. This is a gorgeous exception. The opening is interesting, fresh and green, most likely the banana leaf. The dry down is just stunning. It wears very close to the skin, musky, but it doesn't come across as weak at all. I get quite a bit of the cinnamon, vanilla, and sandalwood. The floral notes are very soft and the fruit is delicate, barely there, not overpowering or candy-like at all. Everything about this perfume is soft, subtle, and understated... the complete opposite of most of my favorites but it works. I'm very happy to have Muse de Rochas in my collection.

This a lovely powdery musk that gives the effect of a blurred line between having perfumed skin versus having skin that naturally smells perfumed. This is the latter. When I wear this, I don't get an outward feeling of wearing any perfume--what I get is a silken waft of sweet musk...my own pheromone. Rochas has yet to disappoint me. It is beautifully blended and thankfully not one of those screechy fruit-choulis that continue to captivate a large perfume audience...I admit to not being part of that audience anyway.

I like it very much and I don't get the negative comments. There is nothing in this that might make me think at an average floral fruity. I think the cinnamon gives a nice spicey touch to the perfumes heart and makes it really suited for cozy, intimate moments. I tested 4 times already and staying power is very good also. I want it and thinking of adding this to my list.

Took a chance on set of this fragrance and lotion that I found at Marshalls a couple of years ago and so very glad that I did. To me it's soft, feminine and romantic. Combined with the lotion it's divine. This will be a staple in my collection of must haves fragrances...simply put, it's lovely.

I love this. It's subtle but yet present... I think I smell more the air behind me in my silage, than I smell it on me. I don't feel the sweet fruit... It's more a softness. It's elegant and discrete. At a point the dry down on my skin reminds me of tarragon...

banana leaf and mango... 14 years ahead of its time. Imagine if Rochas released it now!

I get a Caleche vibe from this one, it is extremely cheap at the moment and the stock after checking the batch code is a few years old too. So intrinsically yet a brief reminder and likeness to Hermes Vintage 'Caleche' Truly reminiscent, and there are so many reviews on Caleche, most of these reviews reflecting on what I would like to say on this fragrance anyway, and those vintage fragrances from yesteryear that have a similar vibe. This definitely reminds me of vintage 'Caleche' and other fragrances of that era, and I happen to love Chypres and those of this olfacltory group. Including Lanvin's 'Arpege' EDP, MaGriff, Carvan and Balmain's vintage 'Ivoire' Incidentally Revlon's inexpensive Charlie Blue the new version although the notes are completely different, and dissimilar. I feel Rochas Muse De Rochas harks back to an era where fragrances were statement accroutrements whether feminine or masculine, meant to reflect taste and patron loyalty to the fragrances design house. Most fragrances actually last quite long on me, however I am disappointed to say that the longevity even in the tropics does not last as long on my skin as I would like. Yet being price friendly at the moment it's selling for 10 Australian dollars for a 30 mill flacon, I paid 13 $ for mine, one can re spritz often. The flacon design reminds me of a feminine Haute Couture silhouette. The package has such a vintage vibe and thus clearly providing a fragrance niche for those wanting their beloved fragrances of day's gone by, a little bit of luxury and uniqueness restored. Very impressive. Pity there was only one bottle left, as luck would have it I scored the last one. But in reflection, I would probably not repurchase because of the lack of sillage. This fragrance could easily be unisex too, and that's a non issue for my fine self.

I owe Muse a apology. When I tested it some 20 months ago it was a very cool day in September and I'm assuming my skin was cool as well. It seemed an unremarkable fruity floral, was completely linear and had a "shortgevity" of under an hour. This past winter I was given a gift set by a well-meaning friend so I tried it again. Cold temps + cool skin = same result. But it was a gift so I kept it. Last night I found the bottle while looking for something else and decided to spray my pillowcase and, what the heck, my neck and arms as well. Hmmmm... warm night + warm skin and guess what? Muse took a 180 degree turn and became a satiny smooth sandalwood cloud sweetened with mango and orange blossom! It sprayed on my skin with an oily sheen and I could still detect it this morning on myself and my pillowcase. I applied it again after a shower this afternoon and can detect the faintest hints of cinnamon and musk under the blend of sandalwood, mango & orange blossom I picked up on last night. I'm 4 hours in and it's still going strong, as if I applied it just moments ago. Rochas Muse is truly a very, very pretty oriental fragrance and I say with all humility, "I was wrong." Now, about banana leaf... Really? Has anyone here who says it's detectable actually smelled banana leaf? I'd like to but my passport has expired so no weekend jaunt to a banana republic is on my immediate agenda. I suspect banana leaf is a "phantom ingredient" tossed into lists of notes just to add an aura of mystery. After all, who can say for sure? :)

Having a respect for the house of Rochas and out of my love for Madame Rochas, I took a chance on Muse and it has worked out extremely well. It really is a beautiful perfume. Serene and sophisticated, with a touch of luxury. The first spray of Muse gave me a flash-back to 1989 and the release of Samsara. That beautiful sandalwood is what I enjoy the most about this fragrance. I was glad to read that it reminds others of Samsara as well. The banana leaf is there in the top notes, which is a bit of fun. Then I smell green mango, perhaps slightly under-ripe and a little 'fizzy'. The base notes reveal themselves quite early in the wearing. Sandalwood, powdery musk and cinnamon provide a lovely balanced warm base which purrs along for hours. I don't find it to be strong, yet it leaves a soft trail. I wear it often to work (one spray distributed across both wrists) and frequently receive compliments on it. With one spray I can smell it easily for hours after I have applied it and it stays on clothing for days.

This is a very soft, gentle muted powdery floral musk. It is not fruity or green. It is barely there and nice. Cozy like the smell of fabric softener left on a blanket in the closet. Mainly white musk really. It leans slightly aquatic. Like a faded powdery Reveal with less salt and more white musk. I doused myself in this and can hardly smell it after about 10 minutes. Just the trail if I run my nose along my arm.

I was excited to find a 30 ml of this perfume at TJ Maxx for $9.99. This is a mellow, pretty scent; I can smell the banana leaf, but it's definitely not banana-pudding-like; it's sweet in the same way that Lolita Lempicka is. It smells much more expensive than it is, and I'm very happy with this purchase. True, it's one that needs to be reapplied frequently, but at this price, that's not a problem.

Very faint, green, and muted, with a nice mingling of notes. It's nice but not outstanding. Needs a lot of reapplying to make it stick. An intense version of this perfume would probably do very well. The banana leaf was an inspired ingredient, but if you want a real exotic scent, go with Sira des Indes.

I sample-sprayed this on skin and clothing this morning with a plan to sniff its development while I went about my errands. Guess what? No development whatsoever! A light, fruity floral at application, it was gone without a trace within an hour. Rochas, what happened?

Found this at TJ Maxx for a very reasonable price. The first spray was a nice surprise. This reminds me a lot of Bvlgari BLV, which I have always enjoyed. This is a softly sweet scent that is very appropriate for daytime wear.

It is like the watered down of D&G Sicily. Good in theory but not worth a try in practice. Does not last, box and bottle A+ for display.

Styrax with an added layer of styrax. Nothing wrong with styrax! Styrax is sticky and lingering, and very cool for summer nights.

This is a weird experience of a perfume... It doesn't have top notes, it goes straight to the base notes. After about 15 minutes it smells very, very similar to Chergui by Lutens, so i suppose the notes they share are center stage... None of the 2 evolve on my skin, they are from beginning to end true to what they originally promise. I guess powdery, ambery smells like these could be layered with strong citruses, for more light. However, i don't consider them complete works of art - something is missing.....

A worthy purchase just for the banana leaf note alone, Muse also has a very pretty retro looking bottle and bucks the current trends with it's retro smelling juice. Muse has all the best qualities of a traditionally styled scent but with a modern subtlety.

This is really odd & awkward. A fruity-vanilla. Massive powerful mango-banana-peach combination on a vanilla-ambery base. I think it smells unlike anything on the market, but to me is totally unwearable.

I find this to be very bland with little sillage. I cannot discern any specific notes. I've sampled for about 5 days. Not purchase worthy for my wardrobe.

I didn't like it. It is somehow harsh and has a very fresh or even masculine undertone. I didn't get Banana, Mango or Peach from it.

Really sharp and overpowering. I'm getting lilly of the valley in an unpleasant way. No fruitiness whatsovever. Very disappointed.

Delicate, feminine, fruity, sweet, soft, powdery, smooth, waxy, resinous, soapy. SorceressOfTheDark has pretty much said it all in her review & I agree wholeheartedly. I was initially drawn to this when I saw the review noting a similar "DNA" to Cacharel's Noa. I like Noa for its soft simplicity, so the idea of a similar scent with slightly different notes is an enticing & very tempting prospect, however I don't really find much similarity between them. Noa is floral & musky. To my nose Muse de Rochas is fruity & powdery. As this really is a delicate scent; surprisingly starting off quite brash, fresh and fruity, then quickly (within half an hour) settling to a soft, smooth, subtly spiced, effervescent, resinous, powdery finish, I'd have too hard a time trying to describe it accurately in a review. Somebody else mentioned that this is like two perfumes in one & I'm inclined to agree. I will say that it's in the style of Prada Candy, Infusion D'Iris & Valentino's Rock n Dreams, with a touch of Daisy by Marc Jacobs. It's certainly of the same ilk as these other scents. The peach, musk, cinnamon & myrrh from Rock n Dreams with the benzoin, musk, iris, violet & rose of Candy or Infusion D'Iris. The green, waxy consistency of the violet leaf in Daisy seems present here. Daisy, which I'm not much of a fan of, somehow manages to smell of sweet banana without actually having any banana in the notes. (Due to the combination of buttery gardenia, sweet strawberry & violet leaf?) In Muse de Rochas, the opening is all about the banana leaf, mango, peach & cinnamon, with a subtle, herby touch of bergamot coming in soon after, with "washing powder" orange blossom powdering my nose in a soft caress. This first half an hour makes me feel like I'm wrapped in powdery pink bubblegum, and then MAGIC happens. The sandalwood and cinnamon here are quite slight but work wonders with the powdery, waxy banana leaf and peach/mango combo. They add some spice where it's needed. The dry down is where I'm sure there's myrrh, working well with the musk, banana leaf, vanilla and sandalwood. It sits extremely close to the skin in the final stages and as others have said - it's extremely hard to smell on yourself at this point, but if I sniff very close to my wrists it surprises me & I catch soft hints of it for a good few hours, so it does stand the test of time, albeit subtly so - lasting, at tops, for around 4 hours. Gentle, simple, understated. Sadly I find none of the narcissus here, but I have a soft spot for this scent, so I don't really mind. This is definitely one of those "my skin but better" scents, like the remnants of a fruity soap or fruity shampoo. Not really my style, but enjoyable nonetheless. I bought a bottle for my mother.

I can't believe so many reviewers have commented on the banana note in this perfume! I have a big bottle of this, and rarely wear it, and I don't detect even an iota of banana and it certainly doesn't remind me of Patou's Sira de Indes which REEKS of overripe / rotting bananas (and who on earth would want to smell of bananas anyway?!). I had a big bottle of Sira de Indes which I bought online as a blind buy and I found it so awful that it was one of very few perfumes I returned and got a refund for! Anyway, so to me Muse smells nothing at all like that, thank god !! It 's quite dusty, powdery and retro smelling and the powderiness puts me off a bit, although it smells pleasant enough, but yesterday I had a brainwave and layered it with DKNY Pure, which is also nice enough but I don't love it, or wear it, much either because it's a bit too shrill, tart and 'cold' smelling to me. Together though they smell lovely! The tartness of Pure cuts through that powderiness of Muse to create a lovely soft, very feminine, slightly (luxury) soapy aroma that I get lovely little whiffs of when I move around. So nice! Also, that combo lasts for hours and hours on me, which is another bonus, and I'm not a heavy sprayer of perfume and usually just use one spritz (two at the most) on my wrist and dab a little behind my ears and on my tummy. So, I'll wear Muse and Pure together, not separately, in future (I think I've created my own perfume - Pure Muse!).

This was a blind buy, based on the fact that Jean-Michel Duriez is the nose, and the fact that it seems to be polarizing. I absolutely love this. It has both a vintage and a modern quality, which I find intriguing. It's subtle yet present. On me it's a sort of aldehydic-floral musk. Crisp and warmly sexy at the same time. I get vibes from the '60s and '70s, yet it isn't completely from those eras. It warms up and is a touch animalic -- in the clean sexy skin sort of way, not the barnyard animalic way (which I also love). Don't really find similarities to Siri des Indes, which I also love for very different reasons. Yeah, there's banana leaf, but this is not a banana scent. This is more along the lines of Clair de Musc and Caleche and Madame Rochas, and there's also something reminiscent of Andree Putman's Preparation Parfumee in it. Oh, and FM's Dans tes Bras. It's one of those that's fairly quiet --- where you catch a whiff and wonder what smells so darned good, and realize it's this. Your skin but so much better. There is also a whisper of Femme de Rochas in this -- it's a magical perfume with several Rochas ghosts inhabiting it, actually -- and I'm kinda glad it's underrated and misunderstood because by rights it ought to be crazy overpriced. Beautifully done, Jean-Michel.

I also had the same experience with Muse dr Rochas as many others did- it started out nicely but in a just a couple of minutes I could not smell it on myself at all and that's unusual for an Eau de Parfum of this style, and my skin usually retains fragrance very well. I found the opening delightful, however, since I do appreciate a good fruity scent. I will try it again and apply heavily, maybe it will surprise me. Perhaps it is the wrong time of year and it will bloom better in summer? It was a $9.99 bargain at TJ Maxx so no great loss, but Rochas is one of my favorite houses and most of their older perfumes have legendary lasting power. Not sure what they were aiming for here, maybe the younger market, but I think of Rochas as a "more is more" house, which is one of the reasons I love their fragrances. UPDATE: After several wearings this is really growing on me! The longevity is a lot better than I originally thought. I am getting something very much like plum, although that is not a listed note. Very pretty, perfect for work, and dare I say quietly sexy?

I wear Muse de Rochas; it doesn't wear me. I have to admit, at times I like to be worn. This is blended so skillfully though, it makes me pause. It opens with citrus to me, but doesn't last long (thankfully for my taste). The scent then starts softening. This soft, musky skin scent develops on me that makes me pause for pleasure. I cannot get enough of this scent. I bought this early in my latest game of perfume. I took it home and smelled it. Thought it was good and put it in my cabinet. Wore it one more time; liked it very much. I frantically have been looking for the right scent. Shopped, smelled and had a delicious time. Today, I was tired. Nothing seemed to suit me. I brought this out today in frustration. Tom Ford yesterday was quite a ride. My own piece of zen today.

Another blind buy from TJMaxx. It's not ground-breaking in any way, but it's not bad either. What makes it slightly different than all of those celebrity fruity florals lining the shelves of TJ Maxx, is that it does have a pervasive note of bananas with a undelying, but subtle smokiness. Unfortunately the smokiness doesn last for very long as the scent slides quickly into a tropical and slightly gourmand skin scent that reminds me of Patou's Sira Des Indes, which is also features banana leaf. Muse, like Sira Des Indes, doesn't last long and doesn't have great sillage. Both would be best worn in warmer, even hot weather for the full effect. If you find that the prices for Sira Des Indes are more than you would like to pay, trust me, Muse is a perfect substitute.

My friend works in a pharmacy with a a large perfume section and offered to buy me one for Christmas. So I gave him a list to chose from (so it would still be a surprise) and he got me this. I'm kind of disappointed - I almost didn't include this one at all. looks like he went for the biggest bottle for the best money. Not complaining too loudly - it was the best present I got this year. Anyway, yes it's nice enough. Starts off a bit green then settles to soft musk. Thankfully, not the kind of musk that goes dirty on me. But is it special? Not really, of the 50 odd perfumes I have this one is likely to be one of the first to go (but not before Karleidescope). I'll try giving it a proper outing and make my decision from there.

I tested Sira des Indes because I wanted a banana note, but I found it a little old fashioned and just wasn't keen on it. Muse De Rochas is soft and gentle - a skin scent that leaves a subtle trail of fruity musk. I get the Banana Leaf above all else and it has a sweet banana feel (including the creaminess) along with a slight fresh greenness. I can sense other juicy fruits but I'm not sure I would really be able to pick what those fruits were. Then I get something that almost smells a bit like licorice.... Not sure where that comes from in the note structure but it's interesting! The more it dries down, the more the musk and vanilla take over with a hint of cinnamon. It's lovely! Like a fancy banana bar soap!

I bought this blind at a great price from TJ Maxx, because I trust the house of Rochas. I still have some of my beloved Lumiere and the beautiful blue oriental elegance of Byzance,not to mention a tiny bit of Madame Rochas and a mini or two of Eau De, Rochas, my favorite "eau" ever! I compared it to Rebel Fleur by Rihanna, even though her's is not nearly as subtle and complex, becsue it's top is fruity/fresh, the mid is warm sweet white flowers and the dry down gourmand-ish with vanilla, amber and musk. But--this scent is so much less obvious and changes so beautifully on the skin. It's a great purchase for fall/winter wear--WIN!

I also experienced that while I could not smell it myself, others could! Light, powdery aldehydes, sheer florals, fleeting fruit. The drydown is primary sandal, but there are no quality oils here as fixatives. Oh, where has our oakmoss gone? Patchouli, oakmoss' ill-chosen successor, would have overwhelmed, so they used vanilla, sandal, and an artificial vanilla instead. Likely this would wear perfectly well in a warm climate, but in the dry winter, it is too discreet for me. Compare to Jean Patou's Forever Patou.

Delicious. A pervasive, yet very subtle banana/mango note overlays white florals and a kind of warm skin scent. Not at all a pungent fragrance, but a very personal one. Very different to most fragrances around on the market at the moment. It's not loud, but has a strange, hypnotic quality. The bottle, incidentally, looks much nicer in real life than the photos - it has a metallic cap and slightly luminescent glass, like the original Lumiere fragrance, for anyone who remember that one.

Thus one has been a sleeper ever since it was launched. I wouldn't call it a masterpiece but it really grew on me, and I bought a backup bottle, which I rarely do, because I found it to be easy to reach for and the perfect office scent. It doesn't offend anyone, but it's not a faceless clone either. It's cozy, likable, comforting, and just really pretty. Lots of cheap bottles out there now, and a safe blind buy for those who enjoy well done fruity florals, in my opinion.

A TJ Maxx blind buy for $9.99, this is a confounding perfume. It is so light, it makes me wonder if I am slightly anosmic (I am most certainly not.) Yet, what I can smell of it, I can still smell on my skin 8+ hours later. I wish the scent was more amplified, but still close to the skin as it is a lovely, lovely white floral. As it is, this is another Dolce by Dolce & Gabbana for me. I will use it to scent notes, letters, etc.

I agree this is a frustrating scent to review, as it has so many notes, yet the scent is light, and flat. Could have been so much more than what it is really. Nonetheless it smells nice, but goes away so fast, so no sense in buying it . I am kind of dissatisfied with that one. No sense of direction in that scent, no top notes , or middle or base, don't know who came up with such a lousy creation under the Rochas name!?

I'm sorry, but no. I am like fragrantica obsessed, so I saw a bottle of it for cheap and checked the notes from my phone. Bought it, sprayed it on a tissue, absolutely hated it. Gross, no, yuck. I smelled zero fruit, zero sweet. It smelled like powerdry and cinnamon grandmother perfume. I slightly smelled banana leaf, but zero notes other than that. Gross, just hideous. If you love it, great but I'm not a fan.

I keep coming back to this one, I bought it a few months back and I find myself craving Muse de Rochas more than I expected I would. The prominent banana leaf made me a little skeptical but it blends in perfectly to a warm, soft, velvety comfort scent. To my skin it is perfectly balanced, not too sweet, the mango and banana leaf give it a unique touch, and the muskiness around makes it soft and comforting.

Gifted sample from a lovely fragrantican. What a frustrating perfume, i vaguely smell the green top notes but i really have to sniff hard. I do get a light floral heart with sandalwood and musk. No projection on my skin yet what i smell i like. Delicate unusual and feminine maybe projection is dependant on chemistry.

I love to try new things!!! Perfume is one that I will try just on a whim! It is a beautiful scent just a little to light for me. I love florals among other things too. Very versatile when it comes to many things. I will keep this in my collection among many others, as a calmer one.
