Rochas Man Intense

“Rochas Man” needs no introduction, just a reminder for the sleazy noses of the aficionados: it’s the prophetic and hieratic monolith of gourmand haute perfumery, a masterpiece by Maurice Roucel. This new flanker is - happily - a more intense version of the original - in eau de parfum concentration - with all the naturally consequent goodness of that: More richness, creamier, warmer and with a few small tweeks that make it finer than ever. It continues to maintain the distinctive character of its kind, discreet and respectful projection - which is so pleasant and seductive -, but with more charm and duration. This release is masterfully balanced: suggestive, long-lasting but at no time excessive, invasive or "noisy". Just as “Rochas Man” has been one of the fragrances that has given me the most compliments - and results - in my entire life, I already anticipate this release is my new “unicorn” date fragrance (for intimate, very close encounters); this scent of sweet coffee with vanilla, combined with lavender and soft woods, always helps me feel good and happier. The original is a little fresher and more “airy” than this one - despite its enormous similarity -, so they are not redundant: You can use the OG during the day and apply a few sprays of this one when you leave work and go to the movies with a pretty and loving mate... DYKWIM? ... So feel good, be happy and make people happy too. :)

First impressions: I’m in love with this smell and I think the quest for a perfect coffee scent is finally over since my beloved Givenchy Play Intense is discontinued This does open up a bit sharp as on the opening you get a strong roasted coffee smell and sharp/medicinal smelling lavender. It’s actually quite nice but it is slightly harsh so please let this settle on skin before judging this !! As it dries down you get more of the cappuccino smell as the coffee smells more sweet/creamy and less robust and the sharpness of the lavender dies down but is still present. What you get is a very cozy,warm and inviting coffee smell that will put you in the state of a mind of a great smelling coffee shop. As this dries down it doesn’t change much but as time goes on it does get more smooth and creamy while the lavender gives a nice airy freshness that is very relaxing !!! I can see this being a people pleaser for sure and especially for all the coffee lovers out there ! In comparisons to the OG. It’s more mature and grown up smelling,has a stronger coffee note, but also has a more natural smelling lavender note and much less sweetness. I highly prefer the Intense but I still do enjoy the OG

If you liked the original Rochas Man but wished it had better performance, Rochas Man Intense is the answer. It’s a fixed version, better in every way. This is what the original should have always been: bolder, long lasting, and more satisfying. The projection is just right, and the longevity is phenomenal. It clings to my skin for hours, leaving a beautiful trail behind. It's an EDP after all. The scent opens with that familiar, addictive blend of coffee and lavender, but it’s richer and more robust. The vanilla and sandalwood in the base are smoother and creamier, making the fragrance feel more luxurious, at a low cost. - Scent: 9/10 - Bottle: 6/10 (still not a fan of the shape, and it being more pink doesn't help..) - Performance: 7.8/10 (projection is average, but lasts nearly all day) - Price: 9/10 on discounters - Occasion: Great for winter/fall days and nights, and also the coldest spring days. Perfect for special occasions or just as an everyday cold weather scent. - Number of sprays: 4-5 (in cool weather) Overall: 8/10 ☕

I love this fragrance. It's inexpensive and great value for money. But as others have said, performance isn't the best and it pretty much disappears on skin in a few hours. That lovely coffee note lasted about 1.5 hours on my skin before leaving just a sweet vanilla base note. If it had better longevity and sillage, and that coffee note hung around for longer, it would be a perfect 10 from me. As it stands, I think It needs to be layered with something similar to elevate it. Maybe Ferragamo Uomo or D&G Devotion Pour Homme? Perhaps Rochas will treat us to an Elixir flanker that actually delivers on the 'intense' scent we were expecting. Here's hoping. 8/10.

This opens with a striking burst of fruits blended with a woodsy accord, before gradually retreating into what is powdery, vanillic heaven. It strikes the perfect balance between a close skin-scent and medium sillage, enveloping the wearer in a warm, creamy cloud. While woods remain detectable, the coffee note is not very prominent. For anyone who remembers and loves the original Rochas Man, its DNA runs through this version, yet steps away from the EDT freshness, paving the way for a more mature, bewitching potion. Think Mon Guerlain blended with Hypnotic Poison... sweet enchantment.

I now own both the Intense and the EDT and have to say the Intense wins. It is so much smoother with a very nice creamy cappuccino note which is there from the very beginning. The lavender note is just right and the vanilla is not sickly sweet. I much prefer the intense. Ideal for cold weather and nights out. A very nice gourmand fragrance. It does remind me of the discontinued Givenchy Play Intense which I loved. I have started to layer this with D&G Devotion Pour Homme which is very nice indeed. A much stronger coffee trail.

Had and sold the original Rochas Man Intense, so had to acquire the re-release. Not as sweet as intoxicated and A*men, but sweet none the less. Absolutely get your nose on this one if you enjoy gourmands or frags within the coffee genre. Very impressive and from a designer brand that doesn’t get as much love in the market. The minimalistic phallic bottle shape which always cracked me up is a reminder of the old adage never judge a book by its cover, or its what’s on the inside that counts.

Ignore the haters. If you’re here it’s because you love the original but disappointed by it’s performance. This one is spot on the original, a bit more vanilla making it a bit denser but overall, same vibe as the original. Performance is like 6-7 hours which is an upgrade from the EDT. It’s not beast mode but it’s such a classy scent that you just can’t ignore and must pick it up in my honest opinion. You know the scent is 10/10, you know the performance is better now, so why not?

I got Rochas Man Intense at the same time as the OG Rochas Man to compare them. To me, they are incredibly similar. The biggest difference is a slightly stronger coffee note in the Intense version, while the OG feels a bit fresher due to the raspberry and the stronger citrus and floral notes. Overall, the difference is not that big. When not comparing them side by side, they feel the same, so grab any bottle and enjoy these heavenly perfumes.

More wearable coffee scent than halloween man x, while coffee break by maison margiela is still probably the most wearable. The cappuccino note is nice to the nose and doesnt dominate the whole formulation. Usable in day or night time, fall winter spring seasons are the best times to wear this. Someone mentioned an iris note in this fragrance, but I dont get that at all. It's just sweetened off lavender.

I bought Rochas Intense for around €20 during a sale. At first, it left me underwhelmed—it felt almost invisible on my skin. Much later, I decided to try it on clothes (something I didn’t even realize you could do at the time), and that changed everything. On fabric, it really comes alive and smells fantastic. It does take a generous 6–7 sprays, but still—this has become one of my favorite fragrances.

The original is my favorite men cologne ever. Can’t wait to smell this intense version. Ugh, too bad I won’t be able to smell it on anyone, no one seems to gravitate toward this amazing scent! Might buy the smallest bottle that they offer just to spray it in the air! Lol

If you liked the original then you’ll enjoy this one. It’s darker than it’s predecessor and lasts longer. I just layer the two versions together to get the best of each one. Sweet coffee scent is a comfortably nice fall and winter frag.

Very close to Rocha Man original before reformation 👍 good release 👍 but I still prefer the edt version which is more complex my 👃 the best thing is to layer both! ❤️

Very old fragrance, you probably never knew existed. Was extremely hard to find. I’ll definitely be picking up a few bottles of this re release!

The cappuccino note is definitely still there! A little more well rounded of the original. And a bit stronger. Glad they re released this one

Rochas was first so how Can this dupe roll coffee break?

I always wanted to try the og rochas man, however, I could never find it, so when the new release came up, I took my chances and...well here's the verdict: It's a pleasant scent no doubt about it. The cappuccino and the woodsy scents are very prominent when sprayed. I hardly notice the notes of lavender and the citrouses and the vanilla graces it's presence when the perfume starts to dry down. To sum up, it's a fragrance that seems to have 3 notes throughout it's longevity. And speaking of longevity...well it's kinda long lasting alright, after 7 hours you'll gonna get faint wiffs here and there, that you forget that you were wearing it. Has for the projection of the scent, it's the weakest fragrance I have in my entire collection, it kinda makes a bubble around you all day, so if you wanna try to impress someone on a date, she has to come close to you. Definitely a good fragrance for office, because you won't offend anyone with this fragrance. Although I'm tempted to try this one during a hot spring day or summer to test it's longevity and projection, it might be just like Kenzo pour homme EDP version, and be a beast fragrance, without knowing it.

Just received this one too. I was already bought and fell in love with moustache so this was supposed to be easy blindy buy. As a scent only I excepted little bit more. Its not bad but its missing something. Its very subtle. Very much of focused and steady one but would need some edge I think. The performancewise I would try it more on little bit on warmer than now (winter +/0 celcius). Since it seems to be working better in more heat. The projecting time and performance was allready more like an activated. Allthough wouldnt be my first pick to the gym, Id try it on spring or fall. Wouldnt hurt to try even on cold summernight. As a opening, it opens with widely but subtly lavender mostly and in some very subtly coffeehint and vanilla. Aa a time goes by the coffee takes over in a good way. As a pyramid says its about that. Im really not into trying the normal version after this. Its okay scent but nothing special like moustache.

If you know the original, you will recognize the kinship without any worries, now let’s talk about the differences between the intense version and the EDT: The EDT has a more luminous and floral opening, it projects stronger in the first hour, the cappucino is softened with a very discrediting note of raspberry vanilla. 5h of perfume life. The intense jumps in some way the light and floral phase of the EDT , it is a darker version around a cappucino immediately on the front of the stage it is closer to its user on the 1st hour but forms an opaque bubble of browned cappucino. The scent’s wake and shelf life are better 7h. You can now choose the version that suits you the most, but they are both very beautiful perfume

A smooth blend of coffee and lavender. a fantastic alternative to Maison Margiela Replica coffee break. Doesn't smell expensive or luxurious and has the quality of a 50 dollar fragrance. aside smelling kinda cheap it is very well done. has a constant undertone of lavender and opens with a very bitter coffee which dries down to become sweet, smooth and gourmand. performs relatively well but not exceptional. worth the price if your looking for a coffee fragrance

coffee is one of the first things you smell, but fades slightly and you're just left with a sweet vanilla lavender with a wisp of coffee, smells a little like play dough on my skin, as do a lot of "Older" perfume styles. Wouldn't say i smell it on clothes though. Overall a nice light perfume, so light its like a dash of basil on top of whatever else you got going for you.

I can imagine that the original series of this one were stronger, as the Intense name means, but I didn't have the opportunity to smell it at that time. The one I bought in 2025 is probably the weakest parfum I have in my collection, just like soapy water. What a pity.

Sweet, unisex, warm cinnamon-like spice in the opening. Maybe some apple?! In the deep drydown it resembles Luna Rosa Black from Prada, maybe slightly more masculine leaning at that point.

I like it. Nice coffee lavender scent. Not too sweet or strong. Just perfect for fall, winter and spring evenings.

Ok I took a chance on this based off of mostly male reviews saying it was creamy and sweet coffee..? Mehh sort of 🤷♀️ Well it is, but NOT as good as replicas! I was hoping for a dupe. It wasnt.its like a younger cousin trying to be like their best friend older cousin. I found the lavender compared to all the other fragrances I’ve had with this note, to be ok just ehh! Also it’s not as sweet and rich as Replicas coffee break! And sooo many reviews said it was!?! Darn It’s not! In fact it was sooo odd but the coffee and lavender left an initial CELERY note! It was odd!! It tones down five mins later and was lavender almost bitter with the dark coffee. Where as Replica, starts and stays a sweet CREAMY deep lavender latte! I had so much hope for this being a replica coffee break dupe. But this is really a cheapie In all ways but I don’t hate it! I just wish it was MORE? The notes and composition are just “less than”, replica in all ways. Also not as long lasting as Many claimed on me anyway In this case replica coffee break definitely is brighter, stronger richer, creamier and lasted longer! I get so many compliments on coffee break. Honestly if you want a sweeter more feminine lavender? Guess seductive noir is sooo much better! So I learned from this buy? That Coffee Break is now a fall spring staple scent for me! I’ll keep this as a bedtime lavender? But ehh I will say...the vanilla dry down is actually really well done surprisingly!! But I didn’t get this for the vanilla alone I wanted the vanilla lavender perfect combo that replica has and this just isn’t it! Same with Burberry Goddess and Mon Guerlain this one would be in the middle of BG and CB in regards to lavender. BG is very aromatic and actually gives me a headache (I think the ginger is the issue there) the lavender has the right out of the garden vibe and This scent is right in between the two I would buy again if on sale but I’ll stick to Coffee Break and Giess Seductive Noir ( which to me would smell amazing on a man as well!) but no coffee in that Oh well not horrible but not my fave

Opening is sweet and gourmand. There is a prominent coconut note which isn't listed. It quickly offers up other notes of coffee and chocolate too, and as it wears the scent becomes more lactonic and starts to smell a bit like chocolate milkshake. After this, a dry note reminiscent of "biscuit/cookie" develops off the skin, and it then smells a little like Tiramisu. The drydown also has a "malty" aspect and does put me in mind of "H24 EDP - Hermes". Performance is ok. Projection about 1-2 hrs off my skin, Longevity 3-4 hrs though it does linger as a skin scent for a good while longer. It's a modern, masculine scent. Would suit ages 18-45 (ish). Good for every season except high-summer. (Overall I prefer the original "Rochas Man EDT." This one does feel quite generic and...ultimately forgettable).

Rochas Man Intense starts out with a strong coffee scent along with the lavender which sits below the coffee. As it dries down, it becomes slightly more sweet and takes on the cappuccino character. I wouldn't call it a strong gourmand type fragrance since the coffee scent makes up part of the whole fragrance. That is, the coffee is there, but you won't smell like a walking coffee roaster. Perfumer balanced everything well. Perfect coffee scent for me. Where Rochas Man Intense fails for me is in performance. The really nice coffee scent is gone in about 3 hours. What remains is a pretty nondescript woody/vanilla skin scent that sticks around for about another 3 hours. If this is the intense version, I can't imagine what the OG must be like. I see no point in buying a bottle.

Sigh....I fell for it again. What did I do? Bought 2 bottles when a tester showed up because of the "glowing" reviews on Youtube and sites like this. Does it smell ok? Yeah its ok. Are there a 100 other colognes I would rather wear? Yes, and thats the problem. I can not think of a single occasion I would reach for this over many many others I have in my collection. How does it smell? It smells like mint, coffee, with a hint of vanilla. So if you want to smell like Mint Coffee, this is for you!! Its not for me. Also, honestly, it kind of smells dated, and sure enough come to find out this smells very similar to a Rochas that was released in the 90s. 4/10- Ok at best. Dated. Disappointed.

Blind bought this recently as I've been searching endlessly for the perfect coffee scent and unfortunately don't think this is it. It's definitely a pleasant scent and the coffee is definitely detectable but it's a little more a sweeter creamier coffee than I was hoping for and it's not as coffee forward as I was expecting. It reminds me a lot of Halloween Man X but slightly more mature. Very typical masculine aftershave vibes with a (admittedly quite pleasant) coffee note in the support role. Not overly expensive but I think there are other scents that are more worth the money and it's certainly not the coffee scent that I'm still searching for

Rochas Man Intense is a foggy vanilla tonka cloud for extreme budgets. The briskness of the lavendar might be more noteworthy than the coffee for me. I guess it’s easy to wear but not particularly interesting. - For a better lavender/vanilla: Caron Pour un Homme Parfum uses high quality natural oils - For a smoother lavendar/vanilla: Armani Code EDT has a slicked back fine tuning this one lacks, but stays simple - For a better aromatic coffee: Robert Graham Valour is more interesting and masculine but stays easy to wear - For a better pure coffee: Akro Awake is about thirty times more realistic smelling 6.9/10

A fair warning: this contains a synthetic sweet note that in my opinion smells slightly cheap and juvenile. There is not a ton of it, the whole scent feels a bit like a more mature and less sweet version of Salvatore Ferragamo Uomo. But it is still a bit too straightforward, a bit too synthetic feeling and a bit too youthful.

This is nice. Opens with a distinct coffee note, then it goes woody. Finally you get a creamy cappuccino/vanilla notes that is reminiscent of the EDT version. Longevity and silage are both OK for a EDP. The dry-down is the best bit and is really creamy. This is a easy like from me.

I first bought Rochas Man in 2009 and it was really good. This Intense version ultimately falls short. Intense is rather flat and not as sweet, rich or smooth as the vintage Rochas Man. On its own, Rochas Man Intense still smells okay, but I'm just letdown.

This is a vanilla/coffee perfume (more vanilla). Quite smooth with a creamy(ish) dry down. It's OK but no WOW factor here. Performance is more like an EDT.

The coffee note was far too synthetic for me. It smelled chemically, and that was a shame because otherwise I loved this scent.

Sorry, I haven't smelled the original. But this is hard pass for me. Way too sweet for my taste. Like stepping back into a Juicy store in 2005. And where's the coffee?

Rochas, just like Davidoff, is a perfume house that i don’t know where to place. In my early days in this hobby, Rochas came under my attention with a couple of affordable fragrances that allegedly punch above their weight. Rochas Man with its...interesting bottle shape and Moustache as a similar scent to YSL Tuxedo. Later down the road i learnt that Rochas has more to its name than these relatively recent affordable releases. Its a house with history behind it, thanks to classic perfumes such as Rochas Femme or Madame, released in 1944 and respectively in 1960. Such old perfumes would make me place Rochas amongst the great houses from the middle of the century whilst the newer designerish scents make me label it as a modern affordable brand. Even back then i was aware that Rochas Man is a coffee inspired fragrance so i had an ideea about the scent DNA. Smelling the Intense version confirms that my expectations were right. Indeed its a sweet coffee-forward, mass appealing and very pleasant men’s fragrance. The cappucino note is accurate because its a soft and sweetened coffee-like accord. There is a lift to the fragrance thanks to the lavander but i wouldn't say its a fresh scent overall. Aired out is a better word. It dries down to a masculine vanilla that surprises me with its persistance because it maintains the fragrance's intensity admirably and for a long time, atleast on my skin. It’s in the vein of Salvatore Ferregamo Uomo which is a tiramisu centered offering done very much in this style. Both are “yummy” smelling coffee themed fragrances but not full on gourmand interpretations and that is even more apparent in Rochas Man Intense. As someone who steers away from obvious gourmand perfumes, this is a very positive aspect. I would even say this one beats Ferregamo Uomo because its a bit richer and warmer, with more volume on the coffee/cappucino accord and it performs better on my skin. Keep in mind that im speaking in relative terms because i wouldn’t call it a thick and heavy, wintery fragrance in general. Quality wise i can confirm that its good and a smooth scent that doesn’t betray its affordable price tag. Just like i said about Ferregamo Uomo, Rochas Man Intense could also stand toe to toe with houses like Paco Rabanne, Armani, Versace, JPG, D&G and others in this bracket of designer houses. It’s not top of the line, ultra luxury quality but its far above supermarket quality level. Again, its on par with the designer houses i just mentioned and it strikes me as a compliment garnerer. It is the only Rochas perfume i’ve smelt so far and it’s one that falls clearly on the modern side and style of the house. It would seem like the house tried its best to keep up with the times, although a general lack of releases doesn’t aid that endeavour very well. Given how i deeply respect and appreciate oldschool perfumery, the nostalgic side in me wishes that the house remained faithful to its roots. On the other hand, i also appreciate when a perfume house doesn’t rest on its laurels or bitterly cries and yearns for bygone times so i cannot criticize Rochas for bringing itself into modern times. I only wish they put out more fragrances because they clearly have the talent to remain relevant AND the decency to not ask for inflated prices.

My bottle came in just the other day and let me tell you I am kind of let down. This to me smells like the stronger, ''vintage'' bottles of the regular EDT. Pre-2011 bottles essentially. It's a bit more vanillic perhaps, but the differences are minimal. The newer EDT bottles are watered down and very fleeting. I had a 2009 EDT bottle which performed fairly well, with around 6 hours of longevity. This new Intense version reminded me of those older formulations. I don't really get any discernible or amped up coffee/cappuccino notes, no ''ice cream'' accord. It's fairly standard actually. So all in all, if you can find it discounted like I did, it's a good pick up if you're a fan of the original. Otherwise don't pay retail prices for it. 7.5/10

Bottle arrived today. This is everything I thought it was going to be based on the previous reviews and videos of the fragrance. Blind-bought, but knowing that regardless I would like the scent, and I do. Prominent *delicious* coffee note, supported by a vanillic/mildly woody base. Love it. Performance, though....ugh. I'm doing the 'facepalm' as I try to type this because, once again, I have a fragrance that smells out-of-this-world good, for about an hour. I am just...dejected. Edit/update 2-1-25: Gave this another spray on the forearm in passing. Noticed it for a solid 8 hours or so. Not sure how that is possible in just a few days of getting it. But I'm not mad about it at all.

This is basically a watered down version of the original interms of the composition/projection and silage. The original is very unique with bergamot mixed with fruits and lily of the valley that gives it a bit of sharpness this doesn't have that...if you already have fragrances with amber and vanilla based then you don't need this, save your money or stock of on the original. overall, the brightness has been toned down but that's what made it unique in the first place.the Extreme will be something that's redundant or familiar...

I love the original version but by the time I’d discovered it, Intense (the 2002 version) was discontinued, so I bought this as a blind buy. Just got it yesterday. Several people have asked what I’m wearing, I really love it. To me it’s a richer and deeper version of the original Rochas man. If you love the original, you cannot dislike this (in my opinion) really classy fragrance and I will order more.

Wait till this hits discounters. I have it and it smells good in general, it’s pretty similar to Halloween man x just less roasted dark coffee vibe, it’s a brighter version of that. not sure about performance yet, looks like it’s decent 6-7 hours (overspray and you’ll get more) Could be pleasing to the public, it has that mass appeal vibe.

Would've Love for them to have made this intense version to be a copy of the discontinued Givenchy Play Intense. They were neck n neck back in the early 2000s but Play Intense always won by a hair. To find Givenchy's gourmand coffee rendition will cost you an arm and a leg.

A nice lavender & vanilla fragrance, not cloyingly sweet. I don't pick up on much (if any!) coffee. I'm not sure I'd buy/wear it but it's a decent fragrance that could quite easily be regarded as unisex IMO (note: without coming across as overly feminine).

Disappointing they removed the raspberry...in my opinion raspberry & coffee work well together. Sad that this seems closer towards replica coffee break, hated coffee break and loved the OG rochas man. Why take the raspberry out?

The Intense is in fact a much darker, resinous fragrance when compared to the original. It performs better in both sillage and longevity, so it's a well worth it purchase even if you own the original. ✌🏾

Love the smell but soon after you realize it won’t last. I feel I have bad performance and zero sillage with this. If this is the intense I hate to see the regular versions performance
