Secret de Rochas Rose Intense

A Deep, Dark Red Rose... This is a gorgeous rose scent, deep and dark with soft near-blackberry fruity tones tilting it rouge. Patchouli is there, but more faint than I expected and I wouldn't call this a rose-chouli. Other reviewers have mentioned, and I also catch the similarities to La Petite Robe Noire Black Perfecto EDP (maybe a faint almond note?) but agree this is a little more rose forward. There's also similarities to Aqua Allegoria Forte Rosa Rossa (again maybe a faint almond note) but this is more powdery/musky. There's a touch of petrichor rose in the base - likely from the oakmoss - but it doesn't take over as can sometimes be the case, and there's a perfume-y vibe running alongside in the background. All in all this is an amazing & affordable deep red rose scent. It's a love for me. Enjoy! Update 07/11/24: Wearing this today, and it's way stronger than before. I should have sprayed once instead of twice in the summer heat. That being said, it's still gorgeous and the rose has taken on some wine & jam tones, along with the strengthening of the perfume-y vibe in the background. I may reserve this for cooler months. Still a love.

I think this is good stuff. Love the pink juice. I'm getting the soapy rose, the green leaves and moss, and a fruity but not-too-sweet undercurrent. Reminiscent of Tocade and even Muse. I'm falling in love with Rochas, there's not one I've tried and disliked. Now I want to try the original and oud versions. Edit: longevity and sillage are poor (I did expect this, based on reviews.) I wouldn't buy it again, but it's a good scent. I'd recommend Tocade over this, for sure, if you enjoy a floral vanilla. Another edit 11/17/22: I think I WOULD buy this again, if the price was reasonable. Longevity and sillage are moderate. But I return to this frequently for the fresh green rose. and passionfruit. This reminds me a bit of Nahema (the new EDP.) 2025: on my 2nd bottle

Like tandaina said, this perfume needs heat before you can start to really smell it. At first spray, I barely get anything. But as the day warms up (or as I start running around), I can smell the sweetest rose smell coming from where I sprayed on skin (I can't really smell it on my clothes though). I've gotten more compliments on this than any other fragrance I've worn so far. To me, it almost smells like a rose flavored black tea. It smells different from the other rose perfumes I've smelled: like a lovely and innocent rose. The more I smell this, the more I fall in love with it. It's not a statement fragrance, but it's so pretty for everyday use.

I've changed my mind about this one. It's a total can't-live-without fragrance in my colllection at this point. Nice on its own, but sometimes I layer it, too. Today I began the day with LPRN Perfecto EDT and topped up this afternoon with Rose Intense. They combine nicely. Backups have been secured :)

Dark, dense, fruity and clean rose in the opening. Eventually turns soapy, green and a little earthy. Not too sweet, but the first 10 minutes are. Can be worn by men in lower doses, but generally leans fem for the first 30 minutes. Projection is monstrously strong. Longevity is about average.

Oooooooooouuuuu lovely little hidden gem This is an innocent sweet fruity rose but with something rich and juicy in there that isn’t sour or synthetic smelling. Like a fresh tart fruit and a young rose. I like this very much!!

Can't smell the roses..but LOVE everything Rochas..So I have it..One thing I noticed that if I use it on a non showered skin, its longevity increases.

The opening almost smelled like a fruity lip balm I used to have but only briefly - it's the passionfruit that shined. It's slightly peppery for a moment in time. It quickly tempers into a red rose, but the passion fruit is underneath in a delectable way that doesn't at all make it too fruity for me. So full and loud. Sometimes depending on my skin it's a little powdery or sometimes there isn't any powder; just red rose, stem, leaves and all but with a kick of red fruits. For me, this is not technically a fruity sweet rose at all - although it may begin like that. Rose is at the heart and throughout. This is a very "perfumey" rose - like I said there is a heavy and mostly realistic rose in there but I wouldn't say it is one hundred excpeptionally linear or realistic in the way that Annick Goutal's Rose Absolue or SL Fille de Berlin is...You can find this one for a rather good price so if you're a rose lover, I would recommend! Edit: Colder weather amps this one up! It really does smell like you've bathed in rose oil. I feel regal. I love it. Wishing the sillage and longevity were better. Reasonably priced enough for a few sprays though.

a rose is a rose is a rose. slightly sweet May rose, a dash of green, over a modern base - amber, patch, oakmoss, clean musk. verging chypre. the fruit, i don't really detect, unless it is enhancing the patchouli. perhaps a peachy apricot, but that could be the power of suggestion. i wondered about it's similarity to Le Petite Robe Noir Perfecto, but no, this is far more rose! and with little or no fruit, (none of the pink and dark fruits), but there is that clean musk, that keeps this similarly "fresh". While it teeters at times in the opening on the rose hand soap, it never goes there. Not a Nahema, not particularly complex (but neither is Midnight Poison or many other patchouli roses), but I found this a very well put together, enjoyable rose that i would recommend to anyone who enjoys rose as the main player and doesn't mind a bit of ambered patchouli in the mix. edit: July 2020. wearing this again and I detect Ambroxan and because of that, this is somewhat reminding me of Rose Velours in the dry down.

rochas rose winter test, two sprays in inner wrist impressions: like a turkish delight rose some kind of dark cherry?? not a seetiw scent or juvenile (i say this as ive just revewed a rather young smelling sweetie and it had cherry) this is rounded, there is a berry of some sort, not tart though. the tester was going off, but i get the mid notes and dry down its light enough, not a skin scent, i like both heavy and light scents, i dont know that i can get the fruit notes listed - but then i have mon paris on the other arm so really this cant compete with that sillage baby. i think this is a nice scnet, have a go with it, i think the more scents i have tried and aquired the more anal i get. EDIT i have a sneaky feeling my guerlains have alot in common with this. the dry down of rochas is semi in line with the le petit robe noir line, i have couture and edp. there is a light but deep 'purple' to rochas, almost a spice. not spicey overall though

Wearing this today, having bought blind at TJ Maxx. It's a delicious, fruity dark rose, with some patchouli thrown in. It's really quite lovely, but nothing really spectacular. It's pleasant, and actually takes awhile to really "bloom" on your skin, so to speak. I couldn't really smell it driving to work and thought, meh...but mid-morning, I kept getting these wafts of loveliness and realized it just took awhile to get going. It's not something I'd purchase again, and to me, it's very safe for work. You can enjoy it (barely, and only after it warms up) but others around you won't even likely notice it. The juice is a very pretty dark pink. Again, I think this is very pretty, dare I say, even interesting perfume. I just don't NEED it in my life in any permanent way.

So I found this at TJMax for $29 and decided to do a blind by since I'm a fan of roses and it got good reviews. This is an interesting one. I got home, sprayed it in the crook of my arm and sniffed. Huh, almost nothing. Very light, a little rose but something bright as well. Maybe green? It was all so light I really wasn't sure. I was disappointed. I went about my day and as the day got warmer I started to feel as if clouds of roses were wafting around me, not too sweet but very definitely *rose.* It survived a hot sweaty ride on my horse, it survived a hot show afterward. So I'll be trying this on warm days and update.

I'm not sure who voted on the long lasting longevity and the enormous sillage because they obviously have a different perfume. This perfume is light, delicate, fresh, close to the skin. The rose in this is very fresh...not your typical rose scent. It's a little fruity but not loud. This perfume is very inoffensive and easy to wear. Maybe a little too easy. I think this is a pretty scent but nothing special. Gone before you know it. Longevity- 1-2 hrs sillage- very soft bottle-nice but not outstanding.

What an intoxicating rose This is a sparkling floral that is not overly sweet or sour on me. Its slightly classic smelling and is something you would wear out on a special occasion. I get the imagery of soft, clean skin, champagne and red lipstick.

Reminds me of David Yurman but fruitier with a sexy musk underneath the rose. This is an elegant and slightly sweet rose. Would also recommend if you like Nirvana Rose, La Fille de Berlin and Pacifica Persian Rose

A spicy patchouli rose scent with great lasting power. I don't generally love patchouli-heavy scents, but this is good in winter. Also lovely layered with a sweet vanilla/cream scent.

I just received this in the mail, the bottle was not full to the top, so I will be calling fragrancenet about this. It is very sweet,sugary, syrupy..........I can't detect a genuine rose scent but will try it again and see if the rose makes an entrance... Can be headache inducing because its so strong like a rose nectar...but barely can detect a rose scent, because the nectar takes over.

I have a LOT of beautiful rose perfumes. I ditched this one because, with all the perfumes I have, I don't have room for "just ok " And this one is just ok. Smells very generic on my skin. In fact, on me, the rose barely makes an appearance. The price is really good though. Somebody else might like it! Everyone's chemistry is different. This perfume doesn't shine on me, so it's a pass.
