Feuille de Thé

A fragrance that smells of "clean culture", Feuille de Thé by Roger & Gallet is a small masterpiece of simplicity. The fact that it bears the signature of Alberto Morillas — the undisputed king of fresh fragrances (think of CK One or Acqua di Giò) — is already a guarantee of balance and refinement. Although the name recalls tea leaf, this is not the classic "green" or herbaceous interpretation à la Elizabeth Arden. It is much warmer, brighter and more comfortable. It explodes with a sparkling, but not harsh, Calabrian lemon. It is a sunny freshness that immediately puts you in a good mood. The true soul of the perfume emerges in the heart. Ceylon Black Tea is not dark or bitter, but conveys a warm, almost silky, vaporous sensation. It is accompanied by a note of Clary Sage which adds an aromatic and slightly musky touch. On dry down it settles into a clean heat. Sandalwood and musks create a "second skin" effect that smells of refined linen and well-being. Naturalness: Does not have that pungent chemical smell typical of many cheap perfumes. It's a zen scent. It's the ideal choice if you want to smell good without looking "perfumed." It wraps you like a light cotton sweater on a sunny morning. If you love fragrances that smell of tea, citrus fruits and the outdoors, it's an almost safe blind buy.

I just sampled this in a pharmacy in Rome on a hot day and bought it on the spot. I love a good tea fragrance and this is one of the best of the best. It is super natural and not at all cloying. It has a special esprit quality that is such a pleasure to wear. It has a somewhat similar vibe to Caudalie's The de Vigne, but this one is more refreshing and uplifting with lemon whereas the Caudalie has ginger and a hint of grape. I love them both and think they both deserve a spot in my collection. Feuille de Thé has moderate longevity with low sillage, which isn't a bother because this is a scent that can be reapplied often as it is so refreshing to spritz on—it is a "wellbeing water" after all. The price is great too which for me is important for a light fragrance such as this because I like to spray with abandon!

This is finally on Fragrantica! Feuille de Thé is one of the best fragrances ever. It's budget friendly enough that I douse myself in it everyday. It smells fresh and woody, slightly spicy, and the black tea is such a nice touch. It's not available in my country and I can't find a similar perfume in the same price range so no one smells like me. I'm jealous of this scent. It's quite complex for the notes and price, with a good durability, too, but I do respray throughout the day. I like to layer it with either lemon or mandarine moisturizer. It's noticable enough. I don't get compliments on it often, but once when I sprayed it close to my friend she was surprised that she could recognise it as my scent. It's a perfect signature scent.

For a simple tea fragrance, this has decent sillage & longevity. The citrus is slightly sweet & the airy note lifts the scent making it smell naturally clean. The green notes are not bitter but combined with the black tea make the scent slightly astringent. I can't pick up the smoke note in this. This fragrance is pretty & perfect to wear in the summer heat. It is a light scent but with 2 sprays on skin & 2 on clothes projects enough to garner compliments. I prefer this over Elizabeth Arden Green Tea (very poor performance) and Solinotes Thè Blanc which, for me, had an uncomfortable cardamom note. The price point is good for this which will allow me to repurchase it & try others from this line as well. Such a wonderful find.

I was looking for a cheap perfume that I can use after I get out of the shower or the gym, something calming and not too heavy. I initially wanted to find something from Solinotes came across this brand instead. I smelled all of the perfumes and this one last and it stood out to me INSTANTLY - bought it on the spot. It has such a feminine lemony presence, and when you pull away, it lingers at the back of my nose and is reminiscent of a vanilla black tea. It’s not too sweet, it’s very fresh and clean, and the longer it stays on a skin the more it warms up. There is a hint of wood in there, which I love. This thing ran me only $30 and it was WELL worth investment.

I found this in a drugstore in the South of France and I absolutely loved it and still do. The Vetiver is what stands out for me and it gives an immediate lift! I only wish it lasted longer, but it’s very affordable. This and Gingembre Rouge are my favs so far and I would looove to find something similar to each in an EDT. Please let me know if you are familiar with similar fragrances.

I am so happy, finally a tea fragrance without musk! I love this scent, this is what Elizabeth Arden tea fragrances should smell like. Beautiful!!! I have been searching for a beautiful and simple tea fragrance like this for ages and I think I’ve found my signature scent. Just tea and lemon. Gorgeous!

I randomly smelled it in a pharmacy and immediately it brought back memories from my childhood and my cousin wearing Lancôme aroma tonic. I just love it. Since the aroma tonic was discontinued it’s great to find something that close. Maybe it’s the memories but it truly makes me feel good. I love it!

This is the sweeter sister of Wulong Cha. I love it a lot! A lemony, bit peppery black tea fragrance - to me feminine leaning. Despite its relaxing vibes this has a stronger presence. Very much worth its price! I would choose this over Wulong Cha any day!

Elegant and poised summer eau de cologne. Refreshing but not generic. Love the black tea note in this, it gives a deepness without making it less refreshing but composes the perfume in a more elegant way

I LOVE this, I just wish it would last.

This might be everything I wanted in a tea scent: just pure tea with lemon, grounded with a little bit of woodiness and spiciness but not so much that it blurs the tea and lemon. Very refreshing, clean, simple, the kind of scent you crave in the heat of summer when everything else feels too heavy or cloying. Or it's great for occasions where you want to smell clean and fresh and naturally, subtly good but not perfumey, like some office environments. It's neither masculine nor feminine; it's for anyone who wants to smell nice.

Initially more masculine & mature, sandalwood-heavy. But later the wood tones down into a gentler, brighter, clean scent. The lemon blends better over time and lingers with the tea & wood. Inoffensive, mature, suitable all year round. It’s what I’d expect an expensive hotel men’s bathroom to smell like. Low sillage.

Tea-based perfumes are one my favorites genre , and this one has by far the best projection and longevity, perfect for the office and a real compliment magnet. For me it is the most realistic English or Earl Grey tea fragrance! Airy, fluffy , creamy, citrusy and really soothing !

You’ll think I’m crazy- but I suspect this has the same “tea” base—- but much diluted—- as The Noir 29 by Le Labo. It ends up being a sort of clingy berry that doesn’t appeal to me, doesn’t feel fresh, and only vaguely resembles tea in a generic astringency.

A steal deal if your favourite scents are Wulong Cha or Tea Tonic or anything with similar light sweet citrus-tea DNA. In general, there is no big difference between them all, about the main accords, sillage and longevity.
