Fleur de Figuier Eau de Parfum

TOO MUCH PATCHOULI, TOO LITTLE FIG _______________________________________________________ Ever since I smelled "Acqua di Parma - Fico di Amalfi" I fell in love with the scent of fig. some time ago I read here that ROGER & GALLET would bring a perfume version of their fragrance 'Fleur de Figuer' on the market. I could hardly wait. And today I tried it and was very surprised. From the beginning there is an explosion of sweetnes. After some time the sweetnes transformes in the wonderful scent of figs, but unfortunately that doesn't last too long - for the longevity of this fragrance is quite short. To be honest, I was quite surprised and dissapointed about the short longevity of this 'EDP'. Overall: I love figs scents, but I need them to last - not worth the money. Longetivity: - 2/10 Sillage: rather small for EDP - 2/10 All in all: 2 out of 10 points.

A strong perfume with sweetness that is energizing instead of cloying. Fleur de Figuier eau de parfum will last on the skin for a very long time and continue to mesmerize. It is a steadfast perfume that isn't afraid to show its sweetness (which I can appreciate and expect from a fig-based perfume). Roger & Gallet often make very humble, soft-speaking perfumes (which are exceptional), and this eau de parfum is still a wonderful change. I think most people will know whether they love or dislike this fragrance upon first introductions. For me, it was an immediate love and continues to be with each wear.

I smelled this EDP version in 2017. I thought it was a masterpiece (ofc by Kurkdjian)! Only smelled it once, but it was enough to give me a good impression. It was an intense perfect sweet and fruity fig patchouli. As it is an EDP it has more body to it in comparison to their colognes. This version is unfortunately discontinued. Wish they'd bring this back.

This is very much a fig fragrance. It brings to mind summer walks in the Provençal countryside. It is unsurprisingly not as nice as Philosykos, but is a good affordable alternative. The opening smells very similar to the fruit, juicy and sweet. The fig leaf note is evident, adding a lovely green-ness and rounding out the fig perfectly. There is no sugary synthetic quality to the sweetness, instead the ingredients smell very fresh and natural. The cloud of patchouli complements the fig well here, adding a nice earthiness. After about an hour, the woody notes creep in, and there is some powdery muskiness to the drydown too. The fig endures, slightly more jam-like than in the opening due to the fig nectar note. As this is an EDP, the longevity and sillage are both moderate, performing better than in other Roger & Gallet scents, but this still feels more like an EDT to me. A pleasant, natural summertime scent, subtly sweet and somehow warm. Softly feminine, and evokes personal memories of my year in Barcelona. 3.5/5.

I do find the sweet fig part in Fleur de Figuier EDP quite similar to the original version, but the creamy texture seems to be amped up in EDP. With the addition of patchouli, it conjures up toffee to me, and actually reminds me some of the fruitchouli fragrances, albeit much less heavy. The sillage is moderate to soft and the longevity is around 8 hours. Thanks to the creamy texture, this EDP version feels less transparent and sparkly than the original, but slightly warmer and more cozy. It veers towards fruity gourmand to me, and is relatively light for the genre, quite lovely and affordable as well.

Screechy sweet fig, which is fine if you are in the mood for it. Much prefer their fig eau parfumée.

I love fig but thought this was too sweet and sickly. There’s occasional hints of bad B.O reminiscent of an artificial grapefruit smell 😟 I was hoping for more of a bitter, woody Philosykos fig. Disappointing.

Fleur de Figuier Eau de Parfum, Roger & Gallet. 09.24.2015 “Fleur de Figuier Eau de Parfum” is a pretty fruity/floral scent; but, it is not a fig scent. In fact, the fig note is hardly detectable. The perfume opens up quite strongly but, calms within 20 minutes. It is juicy and pleasant, slightly sweet (however, not sugary sweet but, rather, fruity sweet.) not cloying at all and has an overall positive and feminine vibe. I believe it is an everyday fragrance for daily use, inoffensive and suitable for all ages. As it opens up, its projection is massive, it fills in the room; nevertheless, it calms relatively quickly and, after about an hour or so, stays close to the skin. The longevity is very good; around 4-6 hours. The downsides, in my view, are that, firstly, it is not a fig scent. Pretty nonetheless. Yet, if you are after a fig scent, I believe that this will let you down. If, however, you are after a pleasant fruity/floral then, the perfume will not disappoint you. Secondly, I feel that I have smelled something like this several times in the past. It is the type of perfume that feels familiar so, there is nothing special about it that makes it recognizable or distinctive. It is for these two reasons that I wouldn’t recommend this scent. I feel, there are in the market equally pretty and more interesting perfumes to invest in. It will not be a disappointing purchase, not at all but, it won’t be a magnificent purchase either. I was never one to pay attention to Roger & Gallet's fragrances because the bottles are dead for the humble, yes, that's right, that old saying: "You can't judge a book by its cover.", I did that and I felt "bad- well", because after getting to know the fragrances of this House, I was able to recognize how high quality each one is and how great is its individual aromatic unveiling. Fleur de Figuier in its EDP version is a very intense fragrance that immediately hits the face and nose, an aromatic explosion of the very sweet fig scent, impregnating and highly uncomfortable if the nose is too close, or if overdosing. Figo here is in boiling syrup and there are nuances of leaves that, after the initial 3 hours, it becomes soapy! When drying it becomes milky, dense, hot and with a crazy gourmand intensity! The woody notes are recent woody and the touch of "cat urine", patchouli can be perceived slightly, due to a slightly unwanted burning in the nostrils, but nothing that is alarming and/or impossible to overcome. Hehehehehehe! Finally, Fleur de Figuier EDP becomes sensual, softer (this does not mean close to the skin), restrained and highly appreciable. Naughty musk, more milk, sap, fig out of the syrup, raw and purely natural. A very necessary find for those who appreciate unknown sweet bombs, yes, I must say that it has a "something" of exclusivity for not being so common! Roger & Gallet is to be congratulated for its "humble" bottle finds! haha

I have to say I was a little disappointed with this-I usually fall very quickly in love with Roger and Gallet (I'm currently carrying on with Bois d'Orange and Jean-Marie Farina), but to me the EDP Fleur de Figuier was generic and uninspired. It's feminine, more towards the girly-girl end of the spectrum definitely, pretty and sweet. To me its a young girl's fragrance-there is no subtlety, no mystery, its all upfront and rather innocent. It's fresh and light, summery and airy. The opening burst is very sweet-almost but not quite oversweet and it just steers clear of 'sickly'. I get a very distinct note of raspberry, but that might just be the generic ripe fruitiness. I'm not a great fan of Patchouli, but in this it is very muted and I think its necessary to add some weight and longevity. The candy notes are really high on me and overpower the rest. I think I'm going to experiment with this one and tone down the sweet gourmand and try and bring the green notes out, maybe layering it with Aqua Allegoria Herba Fresca (which is too green for me on its own).

Not everyone thinks of summer heat as lying on the beach among coconut, white florals and tuberose trails. If you go in a rural area, amongst the orchards or to a summer camp in the forest, or to simply ride your bicycle in the green alleys of the park, or maybe a garden tea-party or a backyard bbq or a kid's birthday, and yet feel joyful and sophisticated - this perfume is just right at home in such settings. I don't exclude it from the beach either, but it's more like a Mediterranean village summer scent. It has this milk&honey sweet sap-like quality, rather than citrusy-fresh. TBS Fig fragrance or Fico do Amalfi, layered with La Vie Est Belle would give you an idea where it takes you. Or if Tresor La Nuit (with its patchouli drydown) had a Fig-centered flanker -- Fleur De Figuer would be it. It is like sitting under a fig tree and its fragrant green leaves, while smelling green figs jam and getting whiffs of Tresor La Nuit from the wrist that holds the jar. It’s sweet, but still unisex imo.

Fleur de figuier Edt or fragrance water is a lovely fruity fig&raspberry refreshing delicious juice evoking "raspberry jam" as if you opened a raspberry jam lid for the first time and inhaled the juicy fresh raspberry and a little fresh green fig aroma. This was transformed into -Eau de parfume - hmm and and deliciousness I liked about the EDT has disappeared. They mixed some patchouli and woody notes into this I presume to make it stronger of a s ent and it has just faint traces of the perfumed Edt but it's not the same, more like a distant oriental cousin , so be careful if you think Eau de parfume is just a stronger identical smell, which it is not. I will continue buying the Edt, plus the perfumed lotion which are to die for..... :)

Really captures the juicy, natural fig much like Diptyque Philosykos. Sensual, soft woods and musk in the base really set it apart from the aforementioned comparison and give it overall a more feminine leaning scent but... Would I wear it? I have to say Yes I definitely would so it can't be that feminine. Lasting power is not that great but I suspect if you teamed it up with the shower gel or body lotion, you might get a performance boost. Regardless you will smell nice and feel refreshed wearing this...I like it.

This is better than the EDT, it has more punch, I detect the fig although it isn't as obvious as in the EDT, this is warmer, I feel easy to wear all year round...I don't detect patchouli, or woodsy notes, they are quite muted and well blended in...this is lovely, I truly like it!! This is a nice feminine scent, I feel it has a certain all around sweetness, but very natural...like not candy at all.. Longevity on skin is pretty good..

For those who love the genre this fragrance is top. The fig note is the only one that feels, persists and lasts considerably. It is certainly one of the Chypre fragrances that remain very sweet and with that hint of talcum that I like very much. I admit to having bought it as soon as it came out on the fashionable wave of the moment but then it conquered me. And I would add that this historic Maison never disappoints!

Tested on the top of my hand. -- Love it! Starts unusual, fruity, juicy but not sweet at all. Does remind a bit of fig skin. Dries sweeter, almost floral, but still not too sweet. Good sillage and longevity, unusual for R&G, and very natural-feeling while artistic. I want it! -- Update: it actually lasted around 8 hours on me.

This is the eau de parfum, reviewed in a warm summer day: yummy, dry, warm and comforting fig. I really like it.
