Gingembre Rouge

I got to know about Roger & Gallet scents from reading reviews on Frangantica. Decided to get Gingembre Rouge first As a blind buy as I'm really a big fan of fragrances with ginger notes. This didn't disappoint. It's the kind of fragrance where all you wanna do is sniff yourself all day after applying. It smells lovely, sophisticated and just so well made. The ginger notes are not strong, they just make the occasional presence and then flit away, but I don't really mind that. I also got the deodorant and shower gel and when used all together, I get about 6-8 good hours of wear. When used by itself, the fragrance dies away after about 4 hrs and I have to re-spray. I'm definitely trying more fragrances from R&G!

I discovered this fragrance last winter and I love it very much. It does not smell too strong or too sweet or too fruity. It is the perfect mix between fruity, bubbly, stimulating and fresh. It's really different. Unfortunately it does not last very long but with the cream of the same smell it lasts a little longer. On the other hand, it does not bother me to apply again in the middle of the day to be sure to feel all day. :)

How I wish someone would create an eau de Parfum of this! It is airy and fresh, citrus and spice with a fruity overtone: just delicious. But it doesn’t last:-(. I love it though. I also enjoy Feuille de Thé from R&G but it doesn’t show up in many searches. I found it in a little pharmacy in the South of France. I’m holding out hope for some EDPs of my favorites from R&G.

I love this. It works perfectly on my skin..and it reminds me of Summer, everytime I use it. The only problem is that it doesn't last long..but, anyway, it's not very expensive.

Love at first scent, but so weak as a cologne...

so fresh ..so crisp..so juicy ..so succulent.. so fine in an ordinary way..so tropical like a fruit punch with berries and exotic fruits.... so great.. so uplifting.. so invigorating.. so full of life.. bliss.. and happiness ..so alive ..so bright.. so full.. so opulent ..yet sheer.. so fruity ..so tart.. so fruity ..almost sweet.. but not sickly sweet.. perfect for summer ..and tropical weather..i wish i was the queen of Sheba and had people just spraying this all over me wherever i went.. for i get tired from re applying ..the longevity is so poor.. but its a pleasure just to reapply ..to refresh ..to re energies your entire being..a truly lovely.. hip.. modern ..luscious.. yes this is the word i was looking for ..its utterly luscious ..juicy.. something you'd almost want to drink.. but perfumey ..at the same time ..it initially reminded me of the escads special summer collection.. the tropical fruity ones ..but this one has a bit more tartness.. and crispness and a bit of a wintry berry feel to it ..almost like gooseberry or cranberry ..they say its all about ginger ..hmmmm i love ginger but this doesn't smell like the ginger we use in food as a fresh ginger root but the only thing is that ginger.. is anti nauseating and this perfume to me is also de nausiating..its vibrant its full of red currants and pomegranates its full of clean white silvery musks ..that make it stay high up there.. with the fluffy white clouds of angels..such a pure virgin.. naughty.. luscious connotation.. of subtly mesmerizing accords.. of bliss..almost watery.. almost aquatic.. almost fragile.. but with a character.. with a hot heart.. how can something like this be sticky and sickly.. and linger forever ..such fragile soles like this tend to flee the scene quickly.. or else they ll be too much to take..its essence lies in its fluffiness.. and sweet vibrant ..watery ..juicy ..accords.. a hint of every citrus y mandarin ..and litchi.. and a hint of ceder to tone it down ..all my favorite citruses and fruitiness in one.. what else can i ask for ..i didn't buy anything on the spot for a very long time.. i even wanted to get the 200 ml but its stil not out..i am sure its gonna finish pretty soon and i ll be going for seconds ..its what i ve been craving for a while now..i just wish it lasted a bit longer on me its 20 min tops..but i wear it for my personal pleasure.. keep it in bag for an instant refreshing splash ..

Yesterday, I tried it on the back of my hand in the local pharmacy. Half an hour later, I remebered why I didn't bought it before. The opening is glorious juicy, red, fruity but still delicate ginger with just right amount of exotic kick. It really is gorgeous...until it dries into something musky, acidic and funky but not in a good way. I'm not sure does it reminds me more of gastric juices or stale sweat, but I do know it's not something I enjoy. It's the first R&G that I like that doesn't agree with my body chemistry. Pity, I was looking forward something red and easy with a bit of a bite for colder months ahead of us. Body care would have been fabulous around Christmas... There is still rose left, but I gave it to my least favorite grandmother one year for mother's day... Amande Persane is back, in Héritage Collection with Shiso, Gingembre, Thé Vert and Lavande Royale. Summer '25. I bought a small gift box of this, because it's affordable and the soap smelled divine. I'm glad to report it behaves differently in heath, there's no acidic dry down. It probably evaporates before it gets there. I'm quite enjoying it and it wouldn't be the first 'one season only' fragrance I have. Last year, I even bought Rose. I'm so frequently in pharmacies, it was logical I would cave eventually. Also delightful in heat.

Tested only on paper strip. To try on skin when possible. As with all other R&G fragrances I have ever tried, very natural-smelling. I can smell the ginger, but under a strong, juicy fruity note. This fruity note is a bit sweet but not so sweet as it is usually the case with fruity notes nowadays. The main word I would use to characterize it is "juicy". I can smell the litchi more than the pomegranate. Underneath, a hint of spicy notes and woods. Linear (does not change over time) but interesting nonetheless. I would like it!

This is ginger and fruits at the start, but I especially love the dry down when it has deeper but soft "gingery fruity-musky" tones. It smells quite natural and descreet and stays close to skin not to offend anybody. Not a green one. For hot summer days and evenings when you don't want to smell around too loud, just few sprays, settle down and you're good to go. It's mostly gone after few hours so you may want to carry the bottle in purse. Oh I layered this with Rose Imaginaire, too, didn't smell bad either.

This is a very well blended fragrance. I am impressed. The ginger is softened by the pomegranate in a very sensual way. The ginger here never gets overpowering but it is strong enough to give the pomegranate something interesting to play with. On top of that, everything smells very natural. Sillage is impressive. This is a perfume with personality but, at the same time, it is unlikely to offend anyone. I think it makes for a safe blind buy or gift, and has signature potential. Thumbs up!

My introduction to R&G fragrances. A very soft gingered pomegranate scent, with an almost ethereal trail. Musk does not stand out on my skin much, but I can definitely detect the cedar. Something to wear when you want to be casual, but sophisticated; and definitely juicy enough for summer. Silage, longevity and projection are quite weak on my skin. Longevity: 5/0 Sillage: 5/10 Projection: 5/10 Overall: 7/10

Finally tested on skin! As with all other R&G fragrances I have ever tried, very natural-smelling indeed I agree with the previous review I wrote, though the fruity note is somewhat barky. It's fresh in a juicy way, plus the ginger, but it is not sweet at all. Completely unisex, unusual and very nice. Would like to own. Lasts at least 3 hours after handwashing and all, which for R&G is amazing :)

I love this for after the shower! It's fresh yet spicy and soapy, it opens a little too sour but settles down into a lovely clean smelling veil with surprising complexity. My taste in fragrance doesn't always translate well to summer but this hits that spicy-soapy sweet spot for me so I will be getting it, I just wish it was an edt/edp instead.

Very very unusual fragrance, opens with a fresh burst of pomegranate, I kinda get the lychee drydown in there, smells a little soapy I guess. The let down is the longevity, this must be something you love wearing, as others won't get much of a chance to notice it. Nice, but it's a very light cologne that's gone in literally 30 minutes.

This smells a little bit like a pina colada, I get a strong pineapple note even though it's not listed. It's a tropical fruit cocktail of a perfume. I actually really like it. However the longevity is very poor, even for a cologne. I only bought a small bottle which I will use up, but I can't see myself repurchasing.

In the opening you get the ginger. As it dries down fruits come in. Very summery and aethereal like a cold summer drink. Quite nice if you are not into the screaming 'I am here" perfumes. Suitable for nights out at a beach bar, cause it blends smoothly with the sea breeze 🌅

A really nice gourmand ginger. I love layering it with my other vanilla-based scents, to smell like ginger cookies. Not gingerbread, but those delicious cookies that have candied ginger in them. A solid 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Fruity, fruity, fruity...with a hint of ginger! Is like a summer cocktail very good the first sips but then just boring... I used up a bottle last summer and I like it but did not fell in love.

This is a lovely fresh-spicy, fruity scent. really very pleasant. Unfortunately the longevity is pretty dire on me, so I'm going to be giving my bottle away. what a shame!
