L'Homme Cèdre

I suddenly melted to the floor, becoming one with the wax on my parquet. L'Homme Cèdre is one of the fragrances in the Men's Quadrilogy from those enchanting colognes that Roger & Gallet started to launch in 2017. Living in France, I hunt them down one after another in the most remote pharmacies in the country where they are sometimes still available. I hunt them down because they all are so perfectly crafted and they form a veritable bible of French perfumery, in a market positioning that doesn't usually allow this. So, let's get back to L'Homme Cèdre. Its scent reminds me of a freshly waxed parquet floor; there's something honeyed about this composition, particularly tender for a men's cologne, which I suspect comes from the nutmeg. What makes this fragrance truly interesting is its radical nature: the man (or woman) becomes cedar. It might be off-putting, but it's actually intoxicating, refined, and so comfortable. The performance. Far from being shameful for a cologne, it's still inferior to the brand's other releases. The sillage is minimal, and its longevity, while good on fabric (I can still smell it on my scarf several days later), is surprisingly weak on the skin. The fragrance is still there, but barely perceptible. I really think it performs better in cold winter days, I wouldn't be able to explain why, but this is the setting where the scent was way more consistent. This is definitely not for men who love to wear provocative baroque alcoholic perfumes, but for casual men who like a touch of poetry as a final touch to their look. If you have the opportunity to get your hands on it and you appreciate woody scents, don't hesitate - no testeur will be available for you to try it. In France, in 2026, products of this quality at this price point are no longer available. I'm hoping for a revival from Roger & Gallet, but given the brand's recent offerings, I fear it will all be just a fond memory.

Its a nice refreshing woody scent. Smells classy and somehow expensive. Its an EDt so performance is shaky but its just something to refresh and smell nice. I really like it. So far I like everything I smelled from Roger & Gallet.

Simply a repackaging of L'Homme Sport. Nothing more.

Woodsy, dry cedar with an old lady musky vibe underneath. Less projection and presence than others in this line but certainly wearable.
