L'Homme Menthe

Fresh and pleasant. Great for the warmer days where you just want to smell good without wearing anything too heavy. A bargain for 30€.

Hi friends, I hope you're all well...So, L'homme Menthe by Roger & Gallet: The heart of the fragrance is definitely the clary sage and lavender, as those notes definitely embody the scent of the fragrance. The mintiness is there at the beginning, and it slowly fades into the background for the lavender and clary sage to take presence. L' homme Menthe reminds me of a minty version of "La Futura Homme" by Armaf in which both fragrances share the clary sage and lavender notes. It's a great office safe fragrance for work. Nothing inoffensive. @Old School Tie states that there is something AdP Colonia Club apart this fragrance. Other than the mint note, which both fragrances share in common, they are NOWHERE NEAR the same in scent. I find this fragrance to be better smelling and more mature. There is no bubblegum mintiness in this scent like AdP's Colonia Club. On my skin, Colonia Club reminds me of minty bubblegum, which is juvenile to me. I don't like the bubblegumminess of the mint note in Colonia Club, but L'homme Menthe's mint notes do not have that bubblegum smell AT ALL. It's a sweet minty scent that pairs well with the lavender, clary sage and woody base notes. In this scent, the mintiness is prominent in the beginning and towards the middle of L'homme Menthe. But in the actual heart (middle) of this scent, the mintiness dies down so the lavender and clary sage take center stage and the mintiness acts more as lingering supportive notes throughout the rest of the scent. Roger et Gallet's L'homme Menthe smells "sensationnel", and I would recommend it to guys like myself who like sweet minty scents with clean, lavender smells and a slightly spicy, clary sage redolence that works together to produce a masculine, gentlemanly scent that's perfect for everyday use or special occassions. This is all just my opinion. Take opinions and reviews with a grain of salt. Everyone has an opinion regarding smells. Some people love a specific fragrance. Some people hate it. Some people lie regarding reviews and opinions. Some state the truth. My advice is for you to GET A SAMPLE OF ANY FRAGRANCE BEFORE YOU BUY IT. That way, you can assess it for yourself and have your own thoughts rather than strictly going off someone else's thoughts and opinions.

It doesn't deserve so low rating. It has a moderate performance and a pleasant smell. It's not so intense but it worth what it gives you. Green-minty, cologne for everyday use.

If you fancy walking around smelling like crushed mint then you’ll need to look elsewhere. I wish fragrantica included the aromachemicals as this one might not share similar notes with others that I would group under generic “fresh spicy” but there’s a common thread and it doesn’t feel all that cutting edge in 2022.

Very pleasant, smooth mint backed by juicy greens with a hint of sweetness and a dash of spiciness. I would say that the ingredients are pretty good quality, there was nothing overly synthetic in the blend. Leaves a decent oily patch on back of hand after application. Easily survived an afternoon and a swim in a chlorinated pool. It was 41€ for a bottle in the place I tested it. Probably about right given the complex market of the 21st century. I would definitely buy this and use it if I wasn’t already so overloaded. I still might splash out once we get to spring and there is something of AdP Colonia Club about it, which I like.
