I absolutely love Roger & Gallet perfumes; they're accessible to everyone, yet manage to be distinctive, elegant, and clever. Rose might seem very simple, straightforward, but it's anything near it. Its structure is marvelous, ultra-delicate, and soothing. The fragrance opens with a sparkling, colorful rose, light yet unique, far from supermarket standards. Then, a peony note blends with some delicate white notes, settling on a bed of creamy almonds edged with very soft amber. It's enchanting, slightly powdery but just the right amount, and above all, comforting. On fabric, the scent lingers, and on the skin, reapplication is never tiring. Like all the brand's perfumes, everything is designed to allow for frequent application several times a day, without ever feeling overdone; the delicate nature of the fragrances makes it possible. And how pleasant it is to allow yourself this little Roger & Gallet break during the day, this wonderful little space out of time. Rose has a rather intimate, yet not entirely so, sillage; it lingers for several hours, and what you discover is magnificent: an elegant floral scent, luminous, colorful, discreet yet magically warm, without ever being overpowering. How lovely it is to wake up in the early morning to the scent of fabrics sprayed with Rose the night before; the drydown brings out delicate notes straight out of a Walt Disney movie. It enhances the moment. If these perfumes are primarily distributed in pharmacies, it's because they deserve it. Roger & Gallet offers an aromatherapy experience for everyone, and for that, I couldn't be more grateful. Thank you, Angéline Leporini, for this beautiful gift. My villain origin story is the longevity, or rather, the lack thereof, of Roger & Gallet fragrances. I know it's an Eau Fraîche, and I know there is a solid version, which is probably the only way to make it last longer, but holy shit, it's one of the best rose scents for me. It is very realistic, very round, sour and sweet in just the right amount, fresh and airy, and in general it's just amazing. The only pure rose fragrance (and not just a perfume that also contains rose) that could top this for me is Le Baiser by Lalique, of which I have a vintage miniature. I barely use it because I'm afraid of finishing it. Back to the Roger & Gallet, though, it's an extremely good everyday rose scent. Like, please, make it into an EDP. I am begging you.

A beautiful, fruity floral rose. In fact I think it beats most of the fruity florals in the current market (e.g. Delina, Flower Bomb etc) because of its simplicity, freshness and femininity. This beauty is gentle, demure, refined, yet fresh and sexy. It has a prominent, juicy mandarin at the top, and fine rose/peony in the center. The base notes are barely detectable which is fine. I finished half a bottle in a year and am thinking of getting a back up bottle LOL.

This is for the occasions when you just want to wear something pleasant, clean and feminine, when you don't want to tire your nose with any complex or heavy fragrance. I don't like many rose fragrances, but this one is lovely. Light, soft, watery, soapy, clean, delicate, feminine, and fresh. Blind buy worthy.

Very gentle and fresh! I really liked it! I smelled roses, but what i liked most was that there weren't only roses! Amber and almonds give to the perfum a unique character!

Simple fragrance. However, simplicity can also be an asset. My boyfriend loves it and it makes me feel sexy

If you love soft roses & cheerful pale pink frags then you should check this one out. It may not be a masterpiece signature scent, it may not excite your olfactory system with strange & daring accords, it may not have great sillage or lasting power, but it IS reasonably priced & terribly "nice"...a little pick me up that is guarenteed to put a smile on your face this spring. Soft, soft rose is at the heart of this fragrance. The slightly sour mandarin-peel start warms & becomes juicy & sweet as the rose begins to open...gentle white petals tinged with pink. The watery peony is very present but the amber base keeps this scent creamy & soft & there is no high white floral to mask the rose. I find it hard to distinguish the almond - I imagine this lends the perfume the silky, milky quality that lilith accurately describes. A gentle rose pudding that even this non-rose-fanatic can enjoy! At one point it reminded me of a far more gentle rose version of Bright Crystal (must be the amber-peony) & if I was to choose between the two I would pick Rose for her more natural, softer side. Nothing groundbreaking for a rose-lover, but just perfect for taking tea in the garden bathed in spring sunshine...using your best bone china, of course!

Most of the wellness waters from R&G work best when you spray them right after the shower and body lotion just about everywhere and then get dressed. That way you stay in this discret comfy cloud of clean goodness for most of the day. It works well since there was an extensive body care (not as much these days) and you have full experience. I've been doing it for years. It's my first bottle, soap etc of this Rose and if I do it that way, I can't stand it. After about half an hour, all I get is very unpleasent screechy metalic peony and nothing else. And then I have to at least change my clothes. But, if I spray it reasonably, as I usualy do with edt and edp, it's lovely and I get all the notes I'm supposed to. Longevity is quite decent. Simple, humble, high quality, everyday care that makes you feel good. It will not impress anybody and you will get no compliments, but it will comfort you after a bad day and help you feel just a bit more human during a flu or mornings sickness. R&G stuff is great for expecting mothers who can't stand perfume anymore, but feel naked without. It's one of those little things that makes you feel better when you're not at your best. And it works wonders in heath.

It’s pretty and very very light with a slightly hint of sweetness, not like gourmand sweetness but like an airy floral sweetness. At first spray you will get mostly alcohol, till it bothers your nasal passage. But as time passes it settled into an airy rosey, pretty smell. Not a big deal. I describe it as a body mist than a perfume and for it to have a “stronger lasting” smell I have to do at least 6 to 8 sprays every morning before leaving for work. It’s very light, like I said and a very inoffensive, body lotion like scent. But will not buy again.

This is an underrated beauty that smells like a less complex version of Stella. I get a happy, bright (brighter than Stella) and realistic rose. To my mediocre nose, peony is often similar to rose, and so it is in Roger & Gallet's Rose. The background smells musky, sweet and a bit powdery. Super-pretty, but with rather soft sillage. Lasts for 2-3 hours. Highly recommended if you look for an inexpensive and easy-to-love rose.

Like many other I don't feel like rose rules this juice. It smells creamy and soapy and clean, i.e. nothing like your average sweet and powdery rose. I would agree with those who say that there is definitely quite a lot of peony, mandarin and almond involved..And there is just enough amber to make it smell warm and inviting..I like to think that this is how I smell after shower:))

Not a true rose, but a scent that is vaguely floral and pink, with strong peony and subtle citrus. Like triple-milled French guest soap, clean and creamy. A sweet love potion in a fairy cup. Sillage and longevity are not impressive, so spray liberally and spray often.

I am surprised that there are no red fruits listed because to me this smells like a fruity rose. This fragrance is nothing innovative, but it makes you smell lovely without offending anyone and without being overly perfumey.

Gently and impressively as fresh roses can be, but the dry down is warm, which is not surprising with amber and almond milk in base notes. I like this Rose so much and I think Roger & Gallet is a great choice for summer.

Green rose 🌿 Low longevity but simple and easy to wear every day.

A few watery pink roses with their stems, prominent mandarin, and other light, delicate florals. It smells like a rose and fruity/citrus tea in a way. It's a light fragrance with shorter longevity and smaller sillage but this will be good on hot summer days when most perfumes are too heavy or strong. Sometimes all you want is a light simple scent done well. Not every fragrance has to be unique or complex. And this one is cheap enough that I don't feel bad about spraying often. But the quality is nice for the price!

Definitely your grandma's rose, which can be a good thing but I personally like my roses thorny and a little indolic so it's not for me. This fragrance is very linear, sweet and powdery to the point of being artificial and stuffy, it lacks realism and something to cut through the frilly sweetness imo. Alas, my search for the perfect spring/summer rose continues.

A heady, powdery, and ultimately rather dated rose. Disappointed with this composition from Roger et Gallet. A flat rose, neither fresh nor spicy, with no flavor. Despite the quantity of natural ingredients in it, it smells synthetic to my nose. Nothing original with this one, I suggest you to try others compositions from the brand, like vanille soleil or Néroli if you want a fresh floral aroma that don’t feel that old and are really original.

First spray hits you with strong scent of alcohol. And the fragrance gives me a headache. I don't find this perfume to have any exciting quality to it. I find it simple and too strong, fades very quickly as well. I will be trying to return this unfortunately. I was very hopeful as I love the scent of rose but this is making my head spin - not in a pleasant way.

Somehow I have managed to avoid Roger & Gallet my entire life. Not sure how or why, but today all that has changed, as I am now wearing ROSE eau douce parfumée. This is a very light, natural-smelling cologne featuring a pleasant, slightly sweet rose scent. I'm not going to complain that the sillage is low and longevity poor, because no one ever claimed that this was supposed to be perfume. Instead, it's a friendly body spray-type scent best suited for a quick pick-me-up or when wants just a touch of rosiness. Smells just fine, for what it is. No complaints.

The Maison tells of an Indian garden where rose petal scented water is born, water as light as a silk sari and in whose water mirror the Sultan's palace is reflected. A very romantic, shy rose, made milky by the almond milk contained in the olfactory pyramid. This too, for me, is a fragrance that I use as a good night perfume. A scent that accompanies us in the world of dreams and in the enchanted world of fairy tales .... Average duration, a non-invasive fragrance typical of skin perfumes.

If you had me test this without knowing the name I would never guess rose. The most prominent top note, in my opinion, is the mandarin. Keep in mind that this isn't a brash or thin citrus note. This is balanced by the rose note and quickly blends into a creamy (thank you almond milk) white floral with a bit of warmth so it isn't shrill (must be the amber). Also, I think this is such an affordable way to try different classes of scents that you might not normally gravitate towards.

'A rose by any other name would smell as sweet'. For all lovers of rose scents this one would have to be in their collection. I personally am not a rose fanatic but the subtleties in this fragrance is winning me over. The mandarin sweetens it and the peony and white flowers cradle it.Together with a base of almond and amber you are enveloped in soft sweet rose petals and milk. The more I smell it the more seductive it becomes.

Quite an unidimensional, uncomplicated, fresh, powdery old fashioned rose. Ideal for layering, the rose note apparently present on some perfumes never really develops on me, so I've used it under Chanel number5, Calyx and Jaipur bracelet making them rosier and incredibly more feminin. Very good if you are going through an ultra feminin phase and incredibly cheap to buy in independent pharmacies iin the UK.

This perfume doesn't remind me of a true rose fragrance at all. I mean roses is not what comes in mind from the first moments I smell it. I smell a distinctive peony and almonds though. Nice but with poor staying power, an everyday simple fragrance for all ages (it lacks character).

I smelled this on my sister in law and it was very lovely on her. It reminded me of both Chloe EDP and Stella. To me roses are dominant in this fragrance for sure. This perfume is so affordable and smells much more expensive than it is.

I love this. It is very subtle and the roses are not quite in bloom yet - early morning dew, a hot day coming. Aromas of summer flowers will drift on the breeze with the lazy bees. Ahhhh

I was obsessed with rose fragrance. This one smells fresh and slightly soapy, it is like you just have step out of shower. It is a good daily fragrance.

BEST WAY TO DESCRIBE THIS SMELL IS..... IF PURPLE ROSES EXISTED THIS IS WHAT THEY WOULD SMELL LIKE. THIS SMELLS PURPLE. LIKE PURPLE ROSE BUDS.

A soft, watery/green rose with peony, quite light and energetic in a serene way.... but only lasts around 2 hours on me. Pretty, though.
