Fougere L’Aube

This brand is blowing my mind. Rogue fragrances are a recent discovery of mine and I’m extremely excited to be collecting them. This was my first purchase from the brand. Rogue Fragrances seems to be a brand that celebrates the past in a very forward way. That may seem like an odd statement but Rogue Fragrances comes across as modern interpretations of classic fragrance styles. It’s a fresh, mossy, floral that is very masculine. It reminds me of a blend of both Millesime Imperial and Green Irish Tweed. Fougere L’Aube is a lot better priced tho. You can buy a 60ml (2oz) for $110 from LuckyScent. Fougere L’Aube is a throwback fragrance that pays homage to the first Fougere ever made. An amazing feature of this scent...it has real Oakmoss in it and at such levels that this fragrance is banned from being sold in Europe. The Rogue Fragrance brand focuses on the integrity of their creations over accessibility. Rogue Fragrances is indeed a Rogue brand with its middle finger turned up at IFRA. However, if u are allergic to Oakmoss, I would avoid this or u will be in for a rough time. It starts off very bright with sparking citruses, moss and flowers (lavender Geranium and rose), it can be mildly powdery in the drydown at one phase but that shifts into the woody aspects of the scent. Overall, it has a very fresh vibe but unlike a lot of fresh fragrances, Fougere L’Aube is a freshie that can be worn with ease in all 4 seasons. Performance was very good. It lasts on me for 7- 8 hours and projection was strong for the first 2 hours. It’s not a disruptive scent but it could be with a heavy hand. It could be worn to work as it can come across professional but I’d also wear this casually just to throw people off. A scent like this when wearing jeans and a stylish hoody would be a great juxtaposition. Sadly, some will not like this and dismiss it as an Old Man Scent. I hate looking at fragrances from an ageist perspective. Older men can use a few playful fragrance options and younger men can benefit from using more sophisticated scents. Yes, this is admittedly a throwback as I mentioned before and to be honest it would fit a successful older man easily but a young guy will also make a great impression wearing it too. It’s not an original idea but most Barbershop scents are made to smell like Barbershop scents. This scent's unoriginal concept doesn’t bother me at all because of its well done execution. It takes a style of scent that’s old school, and practically unavailable in this form, modernizes it and reintroduces it to a public drunk off dozens of interpretations of Invictus, Sauvage and Axe by various brands. Rogue is actually one of my favorite finds of the year. Based on the wear, smell, value and construction of Fougere L’Aube, I would consider it a Strong G fragrance (P-Poor A-Average G-Good E-Exceptional). It’s one of the best options of this style of scent available right now and the quality is unquestionable. If this is an old man scent then unapologetically, I want to smell like that old guy. When I first tried the Rogue sampler, I was so blown away by Chypre Siam to take much notice of Fougere L'Aube. But when I had the chance to pick up a bottle in a swap, I did, and I have no regrets. It's becoming one of my easy reaches... when I don't want to think too much about what to wear, I spritz Fougere L'Aube, and it never disappoints. This is my ideal fougere. It does not have that whiff of barbershop which can feel dysphoric for me; it's far too bright and green for that. It opens with a big blast of galbanum, bitter and grassy, and crisp citrus, and an absolutely beautiful lavender. Lavender, for me, can be a tricky note. I dislike the high-pitched, shrill lavender common in many modern perfumes, but Fougere L'Aube's lavender is floral and plush, strong enough to be noticeable, but it stays in the background, content to let the green notes be front and center. My favorite part is the drydown. The costus note becomes more present, and helps the green notes meld with your skin. I have noticed a similar effect in Papillon's Dryad, although the two scents are very different: Dryad is drier, somber, more autumnal; Fougere L'Aube juicier, playful, brighter. Both, however, balance a plethora of green notes on top of an oakmoss/costus base, and both have absolutely addictive drydowns. Coincidence? I think not. This is lovely in warm and hot weather: the coumarin shared by the lavender and hay warm up the fragrance, making it slightly sweeter. But I think I prefer it best of all in cold weather: it is so sharp, green, and bracingly bitter, I find it absolutely beautiful. The mintiness of the geranium and camphor is stronger in the cold, too. If you, too, have a bitter tooth, you'll find Fougere L'Aube to be invigorating, easy-to-wear, timeless.

Fougere l’Aube, to my nose, is an experiment to see if you can plug-n-play different notes into the traditional fougere structure and see if they work to still give you a traditional fougere. Rather than swells of bergamot and lavender at the top, dial those back and insert a bigger and louder galbanum note. Delete carnation and insert rose. Delete oakmoss and insert hay. Delete the standard woods and insert petitgrain. It works very well. The galbanum opening is fresh, springy, and beautiful thanks to the extra-light touches of bergamot and lavender, like splashing your face with cool water. There is a purity and a cleanliness to the bitterness. The rose at the heart is powdery and soapy, like what we would traditionally get with lavender, and is swept with a pleasantly sweet and grassy hay note. It's a beautiful rose accord, and far from any fruity or baroque characters we frequently get with rose. Nestled underneath is a smoothly sanded sandalwood note that is kept light and creamy, and is given some green and citrusy geranium that lifts the rose heart into the air, and leaves the final skin scent energetic and fresh. The combination of the light and bright woods with the greens and citruses smells remarkably of petitgrain, its lemony/orangey character a dead give away, but that may just be a trick my nose cannot see past. Cleansing. That’s the word I’m looking for to describe what it feels like to wear Fougere l’Aube. There is an elegance and luxury to it, but it never succumbs to the weightiness of elegance or luxury. If feeling cleansed, fresh, and invigorated can smell elegant and luxurious, this is it. It’s a very simple perfume, but some of the prettiest things are simplest of things. Excellent work.

My first association was with Green Irish Tweed (and Cool Water, for that matter...), the main difference being that Fougère L'Aube was smoother and less dry and powdery. Looking at the composition of notes, this association is strange, because the dominant notes are supposed to be different (violet leaf and iris VS lavender, geranium and galbanum). But I guess the effect of different note combinations could be similar. On the second wearing, it suddenly clicked that Fougère L'Aube also reminds me of Chanel Egoiste Platinum! Cold lavender, geranium, bitter galbanum -- it's all there, once you get over the GIT parallel. But whereas Egoiste Platinum has this aggressive shower gel or 90s deodorant vibe going on that obscures the notes for me, I get better note separation here. It's more natural smelling. So, while I have never thought of GIT and Egoiste Platinum as being in a similar ballpark, I have to conclude that Fougère L'Aube is, in a way, an interesting mix of these two. It is green, dry, fresh, bracing, retro-clean and natural smelling. You can imagine yourself strolling in the countryside or coming out of a barbershop, so pick your escapist fantasy. Of the three Rogue Perfumery fragrances I have tested so far (Fougère L'Aube, Mousse Illuminee, Chypre Siam), it is the most easy going one. Just a very well done classic masculine fragrance. Performance is also very good for an EDT. As to the Fougère Royale parallel, it's not totally off the mark. There is a certain vegetal green note, I'm suspecting geranium, in common to both of them. But the current formulation of Fougère Royale is much sweeter and more modern smelling than Fougère L'Aube.

Pure class in a bottle. scent breakdown - Opens up with beautifully clean and watery lavender, geranium, and a menagerie of citrus’. As it dries down the greenery of the soapy oakmoss absolute, hay, and galbanum come in to support the geranium and lavender. In the deep dry down I get slight sandalwood nuances, but the oakmoss absolute takes over. personal thoughts - To my nose, especially in the dry down, it smells like a more nuanced, thicker, and natural Green Irish Tweed by Creed but with that iconic Rogue Perfumery DNA. While I would wear GIT in the heat of summer (as it is much fresher), I much prefer this as it has wonderful nuance and just radiates class. If you’re a fan of green fragrances, you gotta get your nose on this. Stereotypically masculine due to it being a Fougere, but wear what you want. Super easy dumb reach, and tied for my favorite from the house. performance - surprisingly powerful performance of 8-10 hours with classy projection for the first 3-4 hours. rating - 9.2/10. Signature scent worthy. when to wear - Formal springtime brunches; White Teeshirt and Jeans type of days; When you KNOW you look good song vibe - Deep in it by Berlioz TLDR - Lavender + Citrus + Geranium + Oakmoss + Assortment of Greens. The classiest dumb reach fragrance I’ve ever smelled. A must try if a fan of Green Irish Tweed by Creed or green fragrances in general. One of the best from the house.

I had some problems with this one at first. I don't think those little rollerballs do much, and even pulling that off and splashing this on, I wasn't getting much... a vague fruit (the good kind, melony, understated) and freshness but without the strong soapy green a lot of freshies have. Finally I managed to fit get a small atomizer to at least spray out of the bottle, and... oh my... I would like to directly address Manuel Cross: You, sir, are trouble. This is the second scent I've tried from my Rogue sample pack, and the second one that had me telling myself after only 10 minutes that I wouldn't mind smelling like this for the rest of my life, and looking immediately for how much a full bottle cost. It's classy. I do see the comparisons with Green Irish Tweed: no, it doesn't smell that much like it, but there is a definite overlap somewhere deep inside. It has that broad but understated zest, over that satiny, complex base that screams class. That said, I'm also seeing the same thing I did with the Tuberose & Moss: an hour or two later... it's still special, but suddenly somehow not as seductive, it's gone down a substantial notch, and much too quickly. I suppose given the price, that's a good thing, because it keeps me from wanting to buy enough of this stuff to fill a tub with and bathe in.

This is one of the most pleasing & soothing scents I've ever smelled in my entire life. When I first got my bottle, I'd routinely spray some on my hands right before bed, then fall asleep with my hands near my face to enjoy it as much as possible. It smells so good, it's almost a "waste" to wear it out, when I can just keep it for myself! It's that enjoyable. Women have nearly ripped me from my barstool to do with me whatever they will when they catch a whiff of this. It's maybe a decidedly "mature" fragrance, but this one is so smooth & smells SO good, I think just about anyone could pull it off. I'm amazed to see ANY dislike votes on this one, honestly. To me, this is a pretty perfect crowd pleaser. Clean, calming, understated yet indulgent. LOVE it! Just got a backup. Also just picked up Rogue's Bon Monsieur, which is an entirely different story than Fougere L'Aube. It's also awesome, but Fougere L'Aube has a smooth softness you really must check out before you skip over it. It's fantastic! These comparison votes... Not sure what to say. This is in a league of its own for the reasons I've stated loving it, IMO. I've tried all I currently see listed except Chez Bond... I can't agree with any of them at all.

If you were to take Green Irish Tweed, Chez Bond, and Mefisto and smash them all together...well, you would be wasting A LOT of money and making an absolute mess. However, the scent you would create would be reminiscent of Fougère L’Aube. This fragrance, as many have described, is classy, masculine, and natural - a great homage to some classics. It is a beautifully crafted perfume that has, in my opinion, one of the best dry downs I have ever smelled. Is it original? No, but it takes the best aspects of some great fragrances and combines them to make a gorgeous fougère. The opening is where there are some similarities to Green Irish Tweed (or the lighter, fresher Chez Bond). In the mid and drydown is where it transforms and the florals bring to mind Mefisto. I am torn as to whether owning this would be redundant if you already own the aforementioned scents. After a full day of wearing, I am impressed with its longevity. I would say the sillage is moderate; although, a coworker standing about five to six feet away did notice it on me after I had been wearing it for six hours. She averred that it was one of the best fragrances she had ever smelled.

I really love this but a strange thing happened: I went and skin tested it in a boutique before making the purchase of a FB. When I tested it, I got a fleeting similarity to GIT from Creed, but more different than similar. I got some light florals but it was more green than anything. Flash forward to my first wearing from my new bottle: I got no GIT but instead got a very prominent rose note along with other florals. It was also not very green overall. I’m not sure how this drastic difference happened with the same fragrance, but after more wears I’ll edit this with my results. Overall it’s beautiful. I like rose, and this fragrance smells amazing regardless of the different experiences I’ve had so far. Longevity is good: barely discernible on skin after 8 hours, but lasts much longer on clothing. I’m not a big sprayer, one on each wrist and one on the chest, and I am wearing it in winter. Be that as it may. I’m guessing longevity will increase in the spring/summer/fall. I’m looking forward to experiencing the other fragrances Cross has created.

I got a sample of this when i bought targhee forest and chypre siam, and sat on it for a few months. When i finally wore it, i was VERY pleasantly suprised. It does share facets of green irish tweed, but is certainly not a copy. I actually get this super smooth floral (still masculine i.m.o.) that envelops the middle/heart of the fragrance that is super unique to me. It has that extremely fresh and uplifting vibe that GIT has, but smells much more high quality than the current formula of GIT anyway for half the price or less. I highly reccomend you sample this if you even casually enjoy GIT. P.s. at this point in my "journey", compliments are something i essentially never consider or think about, ever. But i was suprised to recieve multiple unsolicited compliments from a cashier at the store, a couple of coworkers and a family member. This also led to my high performance score, since it was obviously clearly smelled by people around me and myself through the entire day and considered pleasant despite its strength.

Instantly a Top 5 in my collection. Absolutely love this. It's unlike any fougere I've tried. The initial spray gives you that typical fougere experience, a lovely blast of fern forrest along the coast. Mossy, green, bitter leafy notes. Pretty much what I expected. But the dry down is where it takes a left turn and starts to distance itself from typical fougeres. Now you've left the forrest on the coast and have entered into a floral garden in full bloom. The rose and musk combine to give us a light powdery note combined with the sweetness of the hay and geranium. It starts to evolve into the same powdery/floral DNA as Silver Mountain Water and Mefisto - but still keeping a grip on the fougere...the bitterness of the galbanum and a light moss accord keeps us firmly in the green spectrum. I love multi dimensional fragrances and this is that. It takes you on a journey and keeps you guessing what you're smelling. An underrated masterpiece.

Yes this man just opened my mind on how fragrance should really smell it’s like your first time ever to smell a Parfume ... This fragrance smells like creed green Irish tweed with a hint of creed himalaya plus it has a soapy twist and natural feel to it, incredible. I did a 180 with this one. At first, it seems just so... average. It has that old school barbershop vibe that I've smelled a thousand times before. The profile is also very linear, never changing from beginning to end. After a few wears and closer inspection, it grew on me. All the ingredients are just blended so well -- there are no sharp edges, no synthetic or harsh qualities to be found. Adjectives to describe this scent: clean, uplifting, cool, invigorating, gentlemanly. Honestly at first I was also underwhelmed with performance. It was literally gone after 3-4 hours... like, gone with no trace. Took me a bit by surprise considering people were saying this is long lasting. Anyway, I've came to appreciate this more. I'd rather re-apply during the day if needed.

Wow! I'm into my second day of sampling from Rogue Perfumery. And I've been very impressed with the high quality of their offerings. This one has a crisp, sharp, rosy, citrusy, grassy gathering of notes balanced by the moss, sandalwood and oak moss. Everything is delicate, but together they pack a punch. But it is never obnoxious. It is natural, organic, considered, expertly blended. You will wear it and not know what you're wearing, for this carries a mystery to it, the mark of a genius fragrance. I would consider this a gourmet barbershop blend, something that evokes cleanliness and a bracing wake-up. It is more for daytime, more for men, leaning to a slightly older man, or at least one who is classic, mature, and gentlemanly.

It opens big, with a huge blast of sweet citrus and green florals, which then morphed after a few moments into a minty blend of geranium and camphor (the latter really opens your nasal passages). In the drydown I smelled mostly oakmoss, though I also smell the musk at the core of this. This is a real fougere, and though geranium and lavender are big here, this doesn't feel like a barbershop fragrance. I found this very pleasant--it's not my favorite fougere nor my favorite offering from Rogue Perfumery, but I still appreciated the thought that went into this. It does seem unusual and distinctive, especially in the addition of the camphor. Projection is big, but longevity for me is only okay.

This is such an amazing and unique fougere. Slight mix of barber shop and 80s/90s spicy. At least to my nose. The hay aspect in this lends a slight, very slight herbal earthiness but the fragrance remains fresh and masculine the whole time. It's a masterful blend. I love the galbanum sharpness and the fact it's a fragrance that doesn't smell like vanilla (too played out). It's such a classy scent and does amazing in the heat. Strong projection and sillage on me....your results may vary. This has quickly become on of my favorite Indie Niche brands along with Zoologist, Pineward and Fulton and Roark. Get your nose on this.

As if Green Irish Tweed were modified into a real Fougere. And the brand nailed it with their description of "Golden dewdrops sparkle upon lush green ferns. Fougere L’Aube is cool and fresh, like the brisk air that surrounds the glow of the morning sun." That pretty much sums it up. L'Aube means "dawn" and this is like an olfactory representation of a fern viewed through a magnified dew drop glistening in the dawn sunlight. Perfectly named. And t's very good. Having only a 4.08 rating is a crime. I know scent appreciation is subjective and variable, but noses, and brains, are suspect.

This is such an amazing green perfume. I used to blind buy uber masculine fougeres (lol) to see if they can provide the greenness I want in a perfume and usually get super frustrated with the entire process. Fougere L'Aube does give me that soft, wet and green garden vibe supported by a hint of florals with an even better creamy sandalwood drydown. Everything about this is so well balanced, I don't even mind that it has lavender which is not super discernable. I don't think this is vintage smelling nor that mature. It's very unisex and comforting while still being cool.

Fell in love with this from the first sniff! It smells quite similar to Chanel’s platinum egoiste. It reminded me of it instantly. However, PE is a bit more sparkly light and bright while this is a bit headier more grounded and serious. It’s green and fresh but with an austerity to it that I find so sexy. I just had to buy it for my husband. But he decides he doesn’t like green fragrances :( so now I wear it! Just one spritz and a few dabs is enough for me so it doesn’t smell overwhelming masculine. Such a beautiful well crafted perfume!

This scent has charmed me. It is warm and spicy, herbaceous, green, citrusy, velvety and slightly sweet. It has a changeable, ethereal quality that speaks to me in sparks - a hint of orange at times, in another moment a hint of lavender, pine, soap or honey. I cannot pin this scent down. It is just lovely. A wonderfully complex and beautifully crafted fragrance. I would love to smell this on a man, it is the ultimate in fresh and sexy. I will however enjoy wearing it myself as a woman.

Cape Heartache started smelling more like strawberries than pine needles to me after a while, so I spent a good amount of time hunting for a capital-G Green fragrance that felt like as good a buy for the money. Fougere L’Aube is worlds away from Cape Heartache, of course, but it has that exact botanical freshness I'd been looking for. I wear it to work a lot; it smells so much like "outside" that I feel a little bit less cooped up at the office. It layers pretty well with florals, too.

This is an instant favorite. I wore it yesterday while I was meditating and there is a euphoric quality to it. It's rich for a fougere, but so clean and well blended that it doesn't feel too heavy. I realized later that the oakmoss in this reminds me of the original formula for A&F Fierce. If you're looking for that OG Fierce punch buy this and you'll get plenty of it.

Class in a bottle for the more discerning gentleman. Not a mass-pleasing scent, but if you like Green Irish Tweed this is in the same vein, with added oakmoss, superior quality and better value for money. A must-try for fougère lovers - indeed signature scent worthy for the fougère connoisseur. mmmmgood's review is spot on. Thank you, Manuel Cross!

Beautiful fragrance! It reminds me of Christmastime, particularly being near a Christmas tree. I mean this in a good way. It's elegant and clean; in the same ballpark as Creed Green Irish Tweed and Himalaya. This and Bon Monsieur are currently my two favorite fragrances.

Fantastic nostalgia only it’s not outdated at all. Everything I look for in a perfume. If you’re around early 60ies and loved herbal, earthy, mossy aldehydic scents, you’ll fall in love with this one. Everything in his line is extremely well made. We are a fan!!

Imagine a slightly soapier, more floral take on a fougère version of GIT. In the mid and dry-down, I get a pleasant blend of florals and moss. Overall, Fougere L’Aube is currently one of my favorites from the Rogue collection, second only to Mousse Illuminee.

I like this quite a bit! The homage to Creed' Green Irish Tweed is very obvious from the opening on. It is more faint and lighter but it has an extremely long lasting longevity! Very nice blend Nothing super astounding overall though.

Maybe not the best known perfume by Manuel Cross, but one of my favourites. Like a forest in a bottle. Not so loud, quite modest, still with a lot of distinct character. This is a modern retro classic for gentlemen.

a nice reference fougere but I don't think I would buy it . I think its similar to Chanel Platinum egoiste and honestly I'd most likely grab Platinum Egoiste

This is my favorite of the Rogue men's colognes. No barbershop. This is aromatic with a nice hay note. High quality ingredients beautifully blended.

I can’t believe my nose that such a thing exists. Silver Mountain Water/Mefisto + Green Irish Tweeds in a bottle. It is incredibly UNBELIEVABLE.

Very pleasant fougere. Uplifting, fun, and easy to wear. A true mood enhancer for the lovers of green fragrances. Cross delivers as always.

Incredible scent. Reminds me of better days.

Opening is an aromatic lavender wrapped in a sharp lime, green galbanum, and dry hay? After a few minutes, a minty geranium and camphor add even more green flavor and a refreshing cool sensation. Very uplifting. If Chypre-Siam is a damp deciduous forest, this is a sharp and crisp walk through a dry coniferous forest. A light rose accord comes in after ~45min, smelling a lot like ELDO You or Someone Like You with a camphorous flair. (Too bad the mint accord is geranium and not real mint!) Performance is not great, though, at ~1.5hr weak-moderate projection with 4-5hr longevity, although this is coming from the roller ball sample. Might be less bad off an atomizer.

Manuel Cross truly is an artist. 'Dawn Fern' is exactly what this is. Apart from the delicious opening of those wonderful nitromusks and some real oakmoss, it's one of the more delicate but also complex scents - just like Amouage Dia - very polite and unassuming. A small whisper of perfection. It has more citrus in it than most fougères I've tried - and certainly no anise or cumin here. A little soft rose and camphor rounds it out after about 20 minutes - which is the best part for me - and then contrary to many reviewers, that's it on me, it's gone - very much a 'blink-and-you'll-miss-it' type performance. Magical but slightly too quiet for my big stompy tastes.

I tested this on my shirt collar, and, wow, a little bit is all it takes to let this beast out. What a scent! I was transported into a mystical land of the French aristocracy. I had free roam of the palatial grounds, lush forests, and romantic gardens. I would not have imagined that such a powerfully floral scent could lean so masculine, but the mossy and dense green and golden scents elevate the floral to a masculine warmth exuding noble sophistication. Alas, I will not seek to buy a bottle until at least I have the time and fortune to meander freely through my future French estate, but this was an enjoyable experience nonetheless.

Classy, modern take on a fougere. In the dry down, a very subtle but noticeable rose note appears but in the overall framework remains totally masculine. For me, this would be a definite dress up fragrance, not casual, but that's just me. Longevity is quite good - at least a good 9 hours for me. The sillage is another thing though. Initially, it is moderate - at about arm's length but then after not too long, it becomes a quite intimate skin scent. A bit too timid for me. I am impressed with how well this fragrance is put together and will be examining other ones from Rogue Perfumery.

Initially unassuming, it has quickly become a favorite among my Rogue sample set. I have mixed feelings about most of the fragrances therein, but this one is great from start to finish. Maybe I just really like natural smelling fresh scents, but this is a wonderful manifestation of a breath of fresh spring air with just enough musk and camphor to remind you it is a perfume. It's masculine, but only because this type of clean fougere is usually delineated as masculine. Really it's for anyone who wants to be fresh as hell. Potentially full bottle worthy.

I get all the comparisons, and I'll switch it up a little. Niche Calvin Klein Eternity for Men, maybe niche Wings for Men more than G.I.T and Platinum Egoiste. Obviously, a lot less synthetic. I do get serious vibes of Calvin Klein Eternity mixed with some G.I.T and Platinum Egoiste (more G.I.T.). It's different for sure, but this is my best example. One thing I can say for sure though is this definitely smells like a 90's fragrance. Projection is the least of the 5 samples I have. Definitely a green fragrance more than a barbershop. ⭐⭐⭐

To my nose.... Herbal, green, soapy. Deep dry-down I can see why this leans towards Green Irish Tweed, but this is about 3-4 hours in. Very nice. Hay note doesn't take away from the freshness, this is still really fresh, soapy and green. Around the 45min mark it goes really hayey and it removes from freshness. But then it comes back after 10-20 mins again. @FragheadMo. I honestly do not like the 45min mark to 1 hour mark. It goes a bit too dampy moss and hey for me. But after that, it goes to my beloved soapy clean profile again. 7.5/10

Got a sample of this and ML. ML was loud and offensive , couldn’t get past the sharp mentholated notes . Since I’m searching for colognes for my partner , we both had a say in its description . This one is more a quiet performer and I’m so glad my partner loved it . On my female skin , it smelt more citrusy whereas on his , woody and mossy . Not a fan of too much citrus notes as a lot of masculine scents go overboard for my taste . So I’m happy to say , I bought him a bottle cause a great smelling man is such a turn on! 😍

This is more similar to Creed's Silver Mountain Water than to GIT. It's definitely more green than Silver Mountain Water, but GIT has the unmistakably sporty masculine edge to it, that Fougere L'aube is lacking. Which may be a good or a bad thing depending on what you're after. It's somewhere between Silver Mountain Water and GIT, but with a Fougere focus. Green, earthy, wet, light. Overall pretty pleasant and inoffensive. Not dated, but not youthful either. Reminds me a wet spring day.

Green Irish Tweed like fragrance with some depth. The costus is slightly challenging for a moment but it settles very quickly. There's a little bit of sweetness that I think is orange and amber. The camphor contributes to the airiness without smelling like straight up camphor. A nice natural and cost effective alternative to the expensive GIT. Caswell Massey Green Briar is also a good take but I think this one is a bit more complex. Scent 7.5/10 Performance TBD

Masculine bright green fougere. Herbal and fresh lavender over soft freshly mowed hay. The camphor here is very eye opening and I recommend this fragrance as a wake up juice. Inhale deep and your sleepy brain will be on high alert. The costus here gives a very subtle oily hair smell but in a good way. It dirties up (just a bit) a very fresh, green and aromatic composition giving it texture and depth. A very lively green masculine spring and summer fougere.

I agree - the opening is like a combination of Green Irish Tweed and Egoiste Platinum, but after that it changes to something different. Sort of floral and soapy. Maybe that comes from the camphor. I'd also compare it to Fougere Royale, but a little softer and rounder. I like it a lot. It's fresh and clean and uplifting while still smelling like a high quality perfume, NOT like a generic men's deodorant. I'm curious to try the rest of this line now.

Fougère à L'Aube is delightful. Fresh, green, and soapy; sharp and cooling; somehow a breath of spring air *and* a freshly aftershave'd guy. It has an air of cheerful confidence. The galbanum zings, the citrus sparkles, the camphor cools, and the soapy floral heart lands softly. It's clearly masculine, though -- there's a woody-amber in there, and it gets steadily stronger over the first hour until it's clearly too macho for me (as a woman).
