Ahlam

i am genuinely surprised that not only i can stand this, i love this. i dislike rose and saffron, and have a hard time w ambergris and rhubarb, so you'd think that this would be an absolute wash-it-right-away kind of a scent for me, but no. obviously it's extremely complex so take everything i mention w a grain of salt, but this is a sweet yet acidic rose, it's just at the border of becoming jammy yet it doesn't cross the line. the powderiness and the fruity touches elevate it, i won't go as far as saying that it's not yet another oud + rose + saffron combo, but it's probably the best one i have tried. the opening is tangy and citrusy with a touch of salty sour rose, the dry down is obviously a sweeter rose with powdery touches, the fruitiness is still there but it's not as prominent as the opening. for some reason i start getting a powdery chocolate note on the drydown and a bit of a dirty/earthiness which i love specially paired with some other floral elements in the bacjground but I can't say exactly what. the saffron (leather-like backbone) stays there throughout the entire wear, the oud comes out more so in the drydown but it's extremely friendly warm and sweetened oud, not skanky at all. on the dry down after several hours when my nose gets used to the rose and it's put in the background, i am able to get this beautiful musky iris that I adore, this is such a complex and gorgeous fragrance I cannot say enough good things. overall extremely recommended even to oud/rose haters such as myself. it's a shame this was discontinued.

Ahlam is a discontinued treasure, a collaboration between Roja and the Emirati singer - Ahlam. This scent is the collision between two worlds of perfumery; east and west, together as one. This is an oud-rose, but not as you know it. In fact, there’s very little out there which smells comparable to this. To put it simply, this is pure floral powder. This dense and intensely dry concoction of violet and powdery notes are complemented by a slightly nutty almond and sweet, creamy vanilla. A whisper of dark, oily oud and a slightly salty ambergris and geranium go hand in hand alongside a supple rose. The base, furthering this powdery facet through the dusty character of sandalwood and orris. It’s magnificent, I cannot stop smelling my wrist. If you don’t like powdery scents or are even sensitive to them, you won’t get on with this one; but if you do, it’s a holy grail. The only comparable scent on today’s market is Nebulous by Boadicea The Victorious, which is far more animalic and brash whereas this is very classy and restrained.

This is a very beautiful perfume, with equally beautiful presentation - all gold, the box as well as the lining. Just stunning... The fragrance itself is similar to some combination of Britannia, Amber Oud, and Kuwait, along with certain other elements I'm still working to decipher. It is familiar, but still exciting, and original. More toned down and perhaps more generally appealing/less polarizing than several others from the house, for those who gravitate toward more mainstream, subtle fragrances. That said, I find myself on the opposite end of the spectrum, and still love this. It's a beautifully blended perfume. Another excellent blind buy for me...

BEAUTIFUL, just beautiful. Very feminine, sweet, gorgeous scent. If oud notes scares you like myself, please don't be put off by the oud listed in the notes as I could not really tell, it is a perfect blend. very worthy blind buy - the bottle is a beauty too!

This perfume is so beautiful. Reminds me of Oud Satin Mood but more refined and complex. Not as sweet and overbearing compared to OSM either

This is quite a stunning scent. Roja's oud base is perfection. Very western use of oud, quite wearable and feminine. A love for me!

I think I’m in heaven! This is the most beautiful concoction and has all my favourite notes blended in a perfect balance!

A powdery Floriental showcasing a lovely violet flower, this is a nice offering from Roja Dove. The perfume opens very briefly with some lemon and immediately proceeds to the dense floral heart where the violet is surrounded by jasmine, rose, ylang-ylang and geranium. The perfume settles on the typical Roja ‘Aoud’ base which is a combination of woody amber powdery notes accentuated with some almond and rhubarb. The feminine leaning perfume has moderate to strong sillage and very good longevity. This is not amongst the perfumers best work but is quite lovely and evocative. Enjoy!

What a beautiful perfume that takes you on a journey

Ahlam opens with a brief acidity of lemon, contrasting at the heart a sweet and juicy bouquet of geranium, rose, jasmine, ylang and violet, warmed by saffron and precious woods with a beautiful and easy incensed 'oud that gives a slightly incensed sensation to the fragrance. And all sublimated by a soft and sensual vanilla base and an almond iris powder flavoring the powdery accord contrasting with the ambergris and musk harmonizing the fragrance, and an unusual note of rhubarb that gives a fruity nuance. Ahlam is an oriental powdery floral woody perfume. DELICIOUS perfume, a beautiful floriental, woody, almond, slightly powdery... in my opinion, unisex, although it is officially classified as feminine, I would risk leaning 55% feminine and 45% masculine, in fact, it has the reputation of being precisely the most shareable of Roja's feminine line, which are known for being very delicate and extremely feminine. As for another fame of resembling the classic Roja Amber Aoud, at times it may remind you yes, although Ahlam is a little more airy. Excellent perfume, very good performance, Roja quality.

Oof, too feminine. I got this because I've seen some who said it smelt like Amber Aoud? I don't see it at all, if anything, it's a female version of Britannia. This is too powdery and with the slight rose and peach note that is barely there. Has a girly cosmetic store scent to it. Not worth the 150. Hard pass.

Looks like it’s discontinued ☹️ The only full size Roja I own. A soft powdery floral with oud. I’m glad I bought it.
