Aoud Absolue Precieux

this is a scent that i deeply regret testing because it left such a mark in my brain that till today i feel deep emotions remembering how it smelled like and considering its price to ml ratio i doubt ill have a bottle of this stuff ever in future. its hard to put in words how this thing smells, but the opening was sour, fresh and salty( i would guess caused by the rhubarb, citruses, ambergris and rose combo) with slightly sweet- fresh and vivid juicy florals mainly rose, geranium and rose accords and some darker spicy woody notes(the saffron does wonders here).the combination of sweeter ylang ylang and jasmin with fresher rose notes creates a beautiful ritual aura. as it dried down the florals faded more for more rugged woody spicy notes to shine like the nutmeg and leather. the oud came off as an oud accord to my nose built around woody notes like cedar, guaiac, sandal wood, a hint of civet, musks, leather accords, patchouly and maybe a small hint of synthetic oud. the combination of florals spices and woods gave me "oud monarch" from bortnikoff vibes but rojas offering feels more bombastic and maybe a bit more synthetic. if money is a no issue for you and you like oriental floral spicy woody scents do not miss on this special piece of art and just get it.

Very thick, heavy yet stunning concentrated perfume. Sprays on dark so be careful with clothing. Max 2 sprays will do or it'll become way too heavy and over powering. Everything in this fragrance is heavy but balanced. The rose is strong to start with then dries down after a few hours. Oud is definitely leathery, but not 'in your face' leathery (I personally dislike most leather scents, but Absolue Precieux is pleasantly tolerable). Worth the price? Certainly! It's a small bottle, but delivers with a Middle Eastern punch from its first spray. Incredible drydown.

There are fragrances and then there is Aoud Absolue preciuex. This is a super fragrance oI the famous Aoud trio created by Roja Dove. I have a 7.5 ml vial from 2017 but had never used it before. Probably it has macerated so well over the years. One spritz each on neck pulse points and the fragrance, the dark lord Aoud became alive. Travelling long distance with friends and it was a big wow for them. This is very long lasting dark, vibrant, intoxicating rose, aoud and spices. The late dry down was spicy, mild leathery aoud. I got rose in the beginning and it just lingered with dark aoud for 4 hours or so. After about three hours the projection dwindled and yet I got wafts of spicy rose aoud for about 7/8 hours. The quality of ingredients and blending is truly exceptional. Looks like a great deal of natural ingredients have been used. With this level of refinement, quality and brilliance who cares about synthetics or naturals? 😀
