Apex Eau Intense

Testing Roja Apex Eau intense from a 2 ml official Roja Dove sample. I am aware that this is a male targeted perfume but I am always curious to test various scents. This is an excellent one, but not sure if it is worth the money... The opening is gorgeous, a bright, citrusy, refreshing combo of pomelo (the most dominant note to my nose), mint, bergamot with lemon. But that initial burst of freshness it’s gone in minutes and then I am left with a green, clary sage/lavender, peppery, woody mix that’s super masculine and somewhat familiar. The classical style of fougere perfume, a combination of natural and synthetic molecules that creates an extremely pleasant smell. Versatile, works well for most of seasons, since the dry down, so to say two hours in it, Apex Eau Intense is mostly about myrrh, elemi, cardamom, sandalwood. In its final stage, this perfume transforms from the fresh, green, citrusy opening to a resinous, ambery, balsamic, ambery, soft spicy dry down. This is personally where this perfume morphs into its best version! It is an expensive perfume, but it might worth if you have the budget. It’s definitely nicely blended, balanced and rounded. Addictive juice for sure (as a female I would love to smell this on a man) and based upon my sample, it appears to last very well, around 12+ hours on skin, but it’s not a beast of a perfume to create a big scent bubble, which is a shame... Long lasting even on skin, at 16 hours mark is just a skin scent and slightly overpriced, it’s almost 300 euros per bottle... Yes, it does look premium as far as bottle and packaging goes, but if it’s indeed similar to some versions of Dior Sauvage (which I cannot confirm or deny, but many other suggested in the reminds me of section) I would say use your common sense and get the cheapest option, unless you’re a Roja Dove die hard fan!

This is a very similar scent to Aether and PDM Greenley and if you have those then you won’t need this fragrance. However, the notes are different the green shower gel vibe remains the same with the green apple being replaced by palmelo. This is good and you can get this on a discount between 155-185, but in my opinion this is an 80 dollar fragrance(I have a preference for designer as they may not always have the light elegance of niche fragrance but designer scents are more prominent/loud). It’s not ground breaking like Burlington 1819. But it’s nice gym and summer day fragrance and is mass appealing. Greenley is a nice fragrance but Apex Eau intense is a bit more pronounced than Greenley. This isn’t super strong but you won’t be too disappointed with its performance and projection in the first 2 hours. I’d give the scent an 8 and the performance a 6, which is a good rating for a niche fresh fragrance. And the scent will last for a good 6-7 hours which is pretty good.

As promised, this scent is a 'freshen up' flanker of its predecessors. I like what this newcomer, Antoine Cotton, has done here. He has upped the musks, citrus, and spices. The addition of myrrh gives Eau Intense an element of class and luxury that is missing in the other Apex fragrances. The fragrance remains unmistakably Apex but has been slightly modernized. It’s versatile enough to wear year-round, but there is a sexiness to Eau Intense that, for me, is better suited for nights. Performance is pretty good too

I can’t hate it. And I couldn’t stop myself picking it up and trying it out day after day. I genuinely think it’s one of the most ‘perfect basic’ scents ever. I can’t get my head around the longevity of this. Even when it goes close to the skin it stays punchy and bright. I just love wearing it so damn much.

I love the scent. Gives me tropical green vibes. Quality is there too. The longevity sucks though.

Roja Parfums' Apex Eau Intense presents a superior and more refreshing olfactory experience compared to its EDP/Parfum predecessor. The original fragrance's pronounced earthy notes proved somewhat underwhelming; however, this flanker is exceptional and enjoys broad appeal. Its popularity is undeniable, although elements of the original remain in the dry down. Similarly, the Elysium Eau Intense and Apex Eau Intense iterations represent significant improvements over their respective original formulations. Definitely give this fragrance a try. I rate this 9/10.

A really nice spring/summer chypre scent. Fresh opening of mint and citruses backed by the sage and lavender - beautiful but nothing ground breaking. I don’t get any of the rose. It dries down to a mix of citrus, musk and light woods. Overall, it’s a really clean and safe choice, if you are looking for something more unique or special, you probably need to look elsewhere. Rating 7/10.

This opens very bright and energized with an aromatic and juicy mint note. But as it develops, it does gets close to Coach Open Roads. But way better. You do get the resemblance. The drydown for me, reminds me more to Terre D Hermes Edt. On me it goes for a good 6 hours pushing 7 on skin scent. I want to love it but i can. Still its a good one. Try it on a 1.5 ml sample.

I have to admit, this smells amazing, but it doesn’t last for shit. You’ll get maybe 30 minutes of moderate projection before it fades to a very intimate scent. Within 3 to 4 hours it’s completely undetectable without burying your nose into your skin. It’s a shame because for me, this is the best smelling Apex

Right after spraying this I get a gorgeous creamy mango and wax in a good way.

It's OK. That is it really. In terms of Roja fragrances and the rest of the Apex line, this is probably the least inspired. It comes across as a fresh minty transparent fragrance. It's not particularly strong for the price you're paying, I received it for a brilliant price of £80 so I didn't really complain. And no, it's not fake. It's a like, if you can get it for a good price, maybe? But I think the brand has much better offerings for the spring and summer months such as oceania and Elysium.

Agree on the astringent quality but it smooths out. I was really excited about the chlorophyll note but it’s mostly citrus and pomelo. There something too sweet in the dry down too. I just wanted this to smell like generic leaves in summer but thats not what this is at all. It’s ok but would smell better on husband than me. Not terribly unisex.

Smells old school It was ok Nothing to mention or to contemplate Stayed for a little while and started to cool down but I couldn’t bring myself to spray it again It was one and done as they say Not a fragrance that I like A pass with no return

The worst of the 3. Smells like a Roja. Like a blend of Apex Parfum and Isola Blue.

Got the official sample, and my initial impression was *not* good. It smelled, to me, like a cleaning product. The particular mix of citruses just gave me a blast of "just cleaned surface" that couldn't be denied. The mint then crept up to settle that initial opening down, but overall, I was immediately sure I did not like this. Even with the mint coming through, it smells more like one of those floor wet-wipes more than a fragrance. Strong dislike. Now, trying it again on a very warm day, I've gone from dislike to OK. I still agree with my initial impression (which I actually wrote nearly 2 weeks ago but didn't submit). But in this warmth, it's better than I first thought. It's still not for me, and isn't my style - green fragrances don't suit me, and I don't enjoy them - but the warmth really dragged it away from cleaning product territory and into fragrance territory.

With the sad hearing of the discontinuation of Vetiver, Scandal & Danger from the "Parfum Cologne" line I just hope he will replace them with something new and exciting in a Roja fashion. Honestly I couldn't care less for another Apex flanker, but as I stumbled upon the notes this one looks like it has more identity compared to the previous two and obviously it will have more character since the brand states that it's a Chypré.. Very interesting. EDIT: After getting a sample, it is just a aromachemical mess with a hint of a dry woody accord in the background. You smell synthetic freshness in this, which is bothering considering standards of older Roja's offerings.

I thought I’d like this judging from the notes but this is not for me at all. There’s a sour astringent smell that’s in this that just reminds me of something you’d smell in a gas station bathroom or some cheap car air freshener. I don’t know what it is but it’s just not pleasant. The smell isn’t heavy or thick either, it wears fresh...but a certain note (or notes) just overpower this in a way that just comes off cheap. Not for me so I’ll pass on this once my travel size runs out

Cheap and a synthetic chemicals bomb. Not a Roja scent. The one who made danger, scandal and enigma can’t release something like this.

Firt impression: I liked the original even though it was old school and didn't like the flanker. Now that the 2rd flanker s coming out soon, I was able to sample spray on my arm and card. Tart and green. Very very green and smells modern. There's many chemicals used here will help extend performance because people think everything should last forever and project 800 yards. But it also serves to give it it's own personality and pop. Will I pay the premium? Probably not because I don't wear many green fragrances (unless you count vetiver). I wear Guerlain Vetiver or Floris Elite when I have the desire for green. I need to test further once it officially launches but it might be something I'd consider on the gray market.

Im not a worshipper of roja but i cannot deny the quality. Scandal parfum is one of my soul mates, and i also love danger parfum cologne and all the varieties of apex thus far. My question is about the "velvione" note/and or accord. Its supposed to mimic nitro musks, a long banned type of musk ingredients that was huge in some vintage fragrances. Anybody with experience with far vintage fragrances with nitromusks care to comment on this "velvione" and how it comes off? Thank you in advance. Just curious

Not an APEX flanker, straight up whole different release. So in the 8°C wet outdoor drizzles though: quick minute fun creamy citrus diffuses into dry bitter Lime zest, builds Cardamom, Patchouli, Pepper accord main presence. No Mint in the cold, subtle Sage, overal woody, slight spicy and dry. To me this is an edible, dry bitter greens. Great Eau de Cologne, on first couple of tries seamns to be not an oversprayer, get's kinda powdery on plus 5 puffs, don't recognize no similar general Roja notes.

Much better than I thought it'd be and little to do with the OG Apex. A modern mojito style fragrance - sparkling mint blends with green & fruity notes with only a slight callback to classic mens scents. Drydown retains the green aspect whilst having enough ambroxan to keep things sweet and youthful. Overall very well balanced and appealing if not overpriced for what is essentially a designer-ish DNA.

Don't know why Ajmal Carbon is identical to this and it came before this. I didn't like it either and I gave it away to my best friend, and funny enough just received the Roja sample today to remind me that. Can be a great smell for others but to me both those are identical and smell like a mosquito repellent . Who wants to try just buy Ajmal and you will have an idea of what to expect of this.

A lot brighter than the original apex. On the initial spray it reminds of a toned down pdm Perseus. The citrus and mint start to die and the fragrance is mostly florals. I see people comparing it to abraj and that's pretty accurate to my nose. I also get the hint of pepper. I like it but I'll need more time with it. Luckily now feels like a good time for the release due to the warmer weather

TRY BEFORE YOU BUY. Its unlike anything else Apex. Its more like a cross between 'A Midsummers Dream' and Elysium Eau Intense than anything with the word Apex on it. If you havent tried Midsummers Dream, then this can best be described as a Green version of Elysium Eau Intense. It does have an old school green vibe to it. Solid fragrance but not a Love.

This scent is definitely more citrus/fresh dominant than the other apex parfum. The fir scent is completely gone and have instead been replaced with fresh citrus. This is by far a more simple and fresh citrucy summer scent. Otherwise, it is not hard to detect the similarities in the Apex Roja DNA, when you smell it for the first time.

Can anyone confirm a comparison to Ex Nihilo Night Drive Speed Legends? Smelled this yesterday. Not sure how I feel about it. I do smell the OG Apex slightly peaking through around four hours into it. Its way in the background though. Never got the chance to check out Night Drive Speed Legends and I feel like this might be similar.

I can't trust the "smells like" suggestions. How could it smell like Sauvage EDT and Sauvage Eau Forte? Those are not even close to the same fragrances. I am guessing people mean in vibes alone and are trying to point to the fact that it is fresh and masculine, but they are also getting spicy green facets as well?

As some others have mentioned, this is a freshie with mint/pear/apple notes. It's not very similar to the original Apex, which had this pine/wood note. This is very similar in structure to Elysium Eau Intense, with a peppery, musky base that works well in warmer weather.

Am I old school ... ??? I still prefer the original Apex Cologne as I preferred the Elysium original cologne... Some classical fragrances should remain classical.... What’s next, Diaghilev Intense ???

Good mix of old school Egoiste type feel but sweetened in a modern way. Top notes are the most exciting. The drydown settled into something similar to Chris Collins African Rooibos (tea/ambroxan).

I think it’s the best of the apex line, it’s not so harsh, but my lord the longevity sucks I mean it’s a damn joke completely gone in 3-4 hours zero detection even when putting nose against skin.

Just purchased it on the Roja site. I will have all 3 versions when it arrives. Hopefully it’s good. I’m a fan of the Apex scent so I’m sure I’ll love this one as well. 🫡

The opening is amazing. The mid is fougere vibe and the dry down reminds me of Aventus Cologne or maybe hacivat. Definitely not a linear scent. It’s pretty great

Fantastic scent for me. I gather it’s not for everyone. I didn’t expect to like it as much as I do. Will give it a few more sprays before I confirm my verdict.

Not too loud like what seems to be the OG scent... Def Aqua D’Gio strong vibes from late 90s i believe but smoother.

Horrible! Please do not buy this. Fair warning! It lasts maybe 1 2hrs max and it is completely gone
