Apex Parfum

As a big fan of old school masculine green scents like Drakkar Noir, Polo Green and Denim original, I really like this. With the OG version, I didn't see much of a similarity with Sauvage Elixir but this one has a little for sure. It has that opening without any of the sweeter notes. The OG was green, aggressive and harsh. This is still green and aggressive but also posh at the same time. The OG feels more like something a biker or rockstar would wear but the Parfum has more of a mafia vibe. The opening of the OG opens sharper and goes straight to the greens but this one opens up with a sparkling bright lemon and pineapple. As it dries down, the greens come out but it stays deeper and more well rounded than the OG. Staying power is very very good and projection is good for a parfum too. You can easily pick it up throughout the day. It leaves a really good trail. Overall, definitely a fan and will be wearing it more before making a final verdict on it 🤩 Edit: I wore 3 sprays as my scent of the day at 5pm and it’s currently 11pm. So far I’m definitely loving this. I thought it was getting lighter but nope. Every time I move, I smell it easily. I was doing some warm up exercises and as my body temperature went up, the perfume started to push out more again which is awesome. As for the smell, there is a smoky incense coming out a little. The smokiness is kinda reminding me of a realistic ashy campfire/tobacco burning kind of smell like Amouage Myths Man or Royal Tobacco. Not as forward but I can pick it up for sure. Super interesting scent so far. Always fun to get a perfume like this that’s always changing. Can’t wait to see how it does as I wear it more 😮 Edit Edit: This is a glorious masculine perfume. I love that it has many stages. From the first spray, you get the sparkling citruses (mainly lemon and some pineapple). As it dries down, you get to the deep, heavy and well rounded greens and leather (mainly a cypress, fir and leather combo). In its third stage, it becomes smoky and you get a realistic ashy burning campfire/tobacco smell. In its forth and final stage, you get a clean earthy oak moss and ambergris combo. Performance wise, It projects well for a few hours (4+ hours) and stays a bubble after but its main forte is the silage. Thanks to that, longevity is crazy good. You can still smell it easily after 12 hours. The OG completely disappears at 9 hours. I know its pricy but the price keeps it exclusive. Overall, I really like it and think i'm gonna have to make this my new signature. Burlington 1819 has been my signature for the past 2 years but I guess Apex Parfum has won me over. Gonna be enjoying this for the years to come and I will be having this in my collection forever ❤️

Roja showcases with distinction his ability to craft nostalgia into fragrance with Apex Parfum. It is easier to describe the fragrance's imagery than it's notes as like many Roja creations, it is blended very well like a fine cognac. I get an opening that feels like 'noir' citrus and pineapple; toned down compared to the vibrant fruits of the EDP and without the forward cypress. There is a fleeting whisper of the incense to follow and then you feel this familiarity, like you have always known Apex but it's frustrating to pin down as it's not generic such that you can recall a RL Polo or other green fragrance you wore back in the day. I find myself transported to weekend getaways, staying at cabins by the woods, a date with a girl in fall, a job interview, a wedding and all things tremendous and reassuring in life. It's ethereal and familiar. You're on this trip for a good 3-4 hours without much evolution, just a steady scenic route. Apex transitions to incense (white and zesty, not smokey), woods, cinnamon, leather and mild animal musks. It again feels comforting, like how you feel when you hit the gym hard after work and get that clean dirty cloud of humid air in the changing rooms as you're getting dressed, a film of sweat emerging on your brow and blending with your pretentious grooming products. Kouros inspired in that it's feels like you're chilling in someone else's just cleaned bathroom (nod to Mr Turin). I can see how Apex can so easily be written off as 'another x and y'. And yet, nothing smells remotely like it. It is a modern day classic and I think it will gain momentum amongst those with the funds to invest and the memory bank to buy into Roja's vision.

When I walk past others (3-6 feet away), they've noticed and complimented it. The range does drop throughout the day (6ft for the first few hours, then 3ft or so after 4-5 hours, then 1-2ft from 8-10 hours onward), but that's to be expected. Appeal - this is definitely a more masculine-leaning type of fragrance, but not obnoxiously so. I've gotten several compliments on this (more so than any of my Creeds, Tom Fords, Clive Christians, or Louis Vuittons) in a variety of settings, and this is my girlfriend's favorite scent on me so far. It's a very green and classic-smelling scent, with just the right amount of fruitiness and woodsy/leathery notes to balance each other out. Could be worn for a formal occasion, but wouldn't be out of place in a casual setting. I purchased samples of both the Parfum and EDP versions on the Roja Parfums website and tried both (ended up buying a full bottle of the Parfum) - the EDP was lighter, more airy, and woodsy, while the Parfum is heavier, denser, and more balanced between the fruit, woods, and leather notes. The Parfum also performs considerably better on my skin (the EDP became more of a skin scent after a few hours).

#692 in my "Tour de Fragrance: If you were fortunate to experience Floris' 1962 and were disconsolate when it was discontinued, take heart. I thought Roja's Elysium was likeable, but nothing special. I was far more impressed with his Amber Oud Parfum. But this stuff! OMG! Everything I loved about Floris 1962 and more. To get me to drop $300 for a scent you have got to wow me. I am wowed! Got this as a sample sprayette. The low rating is just nuts. I am buying a bottle, painful as the price is. This is almost everything I have ever liked in a men's cologne. If he'd added iris and agarwood I'd have collapsed on the floor. This is fresh, bright, green, woody, fruity, ambery...if you can't find something to like in this scent I don't know what will make you happy. Absolutely worthy to be a man's signature scent. Long lasting, good projection. I love the slightly acrid citrus without the sweetness, and especially without the vanilla. I'd put this is the same camp as one of my all-time favorites Dior Eau Sauvage Parfum, but more complex and smooth. This is great stuff. For the boardroom, not the mailroom. You should at least get a sample and experience it for yourself.

Man... this is what I call masculinity in a F bottle! I had the edp and pulled the trigger for this one since I grabbed it for 240€. What can I say.. is it redundant to have both? Maybe.. but this one is an olfactory experience and I’ll use this for myself and only I should understand what this does. Now if you are familiar with the edp the best way I can describe this: slowmotion. Every facet of the edp passes now in slowmotion. The opening, the mid, the drydown and there is even a final drydown! Fruity, bright, spicey and mossy, earthy woody and mossy, woody earthy spicey at the end. Man can’t get enough. The name suits perfectly on this edition. Now would I pay the full retail? Hell no.. is it quality? Hell Yes. Can’t understand the people who voted this as very weak?? Fake bottles? If it is go claim your money back because this is in no way a weak fragrance. It’s super potent stuff in spring and autumn it will choke people.. winter I think you can use some more sprays. But yet again this is not weak.. I’ll vote for long lasting or eternal even with a moderate to strong projection depending on the climate.

Update: If you like Chanel Bleu Parfum and Dior Elixir, this is a refined, high-end perfume that you can blind buy. I really give it a 10 out of 10. I think this is the only perfume I've ever given a 10 to. As a Sauvage Elixir lover, this is like its rich, well-dressed older brother. It doesn't smell as clean as Elixir, or rather, it doesn't have that aftershave vibe. It's a bitter, fresh, innovative, old-school interpretation. If I didn't already adore Elixir, I'd rank it ahead of it, but I think it's a perfume I equally love. Apex Parfum version: A clean, juniper-based men's fragrance with a subtle hint of spice. The perception of quality is very high. It's a great option, especially if you don't like sweetness in men's fragrances. Its performance is very strong, but it develops with a sillage that's never offensive. If you really need a men's fragrance, it's one of the best options, along with Elixir. By the way, I'm not saying it's similar to Elixir at all. The scent structures are very different. They just leave a similar impression. 10/10

The king. This and the EDP are phenomenal fragrances. Problem is they only make 100ml of the EDP so I got this one because as a collector I only buy small bottles for obvious reasons, otherwise the EDP is just as good. This Parfum lasts longer making it great for evening wear while the EDP is a versatile jack of all trades day or night wear. But both similar. To be honest, I'm not a Roja Dove fan. I spent an absurd amount buying overpriced overhyped Roja fragrances, but I sold those off. The only bottles I see worthy of keeping are Apex EDP or this Parfum. The word masterpiece is thrown around all the time, but in this case Apex is a masterpiece. Do not mind the low ratings. Of course, the Parfumo site ranks this accordingly as real users there actually appreciate this -- and their higher ratings there validate this. This is a leathery green chypre at its finest. Classically blended to perfection. Not old. Not new. Not trying to show off. Just a gentleman's scent. Remarkable to say the least.

There seems to be a lot of troll voters for this fragrance, in every single section, no idea why. Italian Cypress would be the closest option to this. Apex is a very green, earthy fragrance reminiscent of IC and Clive Christian X (men’s versions). It has the aromatic qualities you find in these fragrances, along with the 80’s reminiscent style due to this. I love this style and it’s nice to find another scent featuring these heavy, green, masculine-depicted notes. This is a great fragrance that evokes being lost in a cypress forest, and the fresh, yet intensely green earthy qualities that only this style of fragrance can convey. Likely this will one I buy in the aftermarket due to the joy I receive with this, and because I never did buy IC.

This is amazing! It’s the same notes as the EDP, however just like MFK did in Gentle Fluidity Gold and Silver, he changed up the balance of the notes. The EDP is more Spring and Summer or Daytime. It has an emphasis on the mandarin and fresh green pine needles. The Parfum version is more fall and winter or nighttime. It is heavier on the woods and has a smoky element to it. It’s like you are walking in the woods and the smell of the forest floor mixed with scent of a very distance fireplace chimney smoke. You still get the green line needles, but it’s not as prominent as in the EDP. It’s a very sexy masculine scent that evokes the feeling of a very capable renaissance man that can get on in the wilderness just as easily as in the city.

In the same field as Sauvage Elixer. I'm giving a review based in the fact that I bought a full 1.7 oz bottle with zero regret. My first ever Roja purchase. I am pleased. The pineapple is very noticeable in the begining. It has that very strong initial opening of great high quality ingredients. Super masculine. I like to layer, so I've been layering with coach platinum, afnan supremacy not only intense and afnan supremacy noir in different mix ups on different occasions. To me this Apex Parfum is a classy gentleman fragrance, but not a compliment beast. It could be a compliment getter. The projection power of it lasts 4-6 hrs. I might get the edp. I like many fragrances of many categories. This one is in my work day/business category.

Having sampled both the EDP and this one, I would agree with some of the youtube reviews I’ve seen. If you have one, you don’t need the other. That said, they are both pretty great. On my skin, the parfum is denser, stronger, and it projects harder. The EDP is no slouch in performance, either. I find Apex to be a blend of the newer type of masculine scents with the 80’s powerhouses of the past. Green, musky, fruity (but not overly-so), and a bit bracing. Also, if a scent is rated overly intimate, feminine, weak, etc. and joke-scents are listed under the “smells like” section, it simply means morons are angry that it costs a lot of money. Fortunately for them, nobody is forcing them to buy it.

Similar to the EDP, but lighter and brighter. All year, any time fougere fragrance. Opens citrusy and fresh. There is woodsy feel to it as well (woodsy like in "forest"). As the citruses calms down, you don't get as deep into the forest as Apex EDP goes. It's more like you're standing at the edge between a forest and a variety of lemonade stands. I personally own Apex Parfum, but i do prefer the EDP, as it goes all the way into the forest. As an "Apex", i feel like it belongs in the deepest part of the forest, lurking in the shadowy parts of the forest floor. But the Parfum is a lot more wearable and versatile. Personal score: 8/10

If you like sauvage elixir(I do), this will make you very happy. It's better in every way, from quality to smoothness, to enjoyability. Period. If you think I'm wrong, or a snob, or I have to justify my purchase by pumping it up, etc., whatever - just put sauvage elixir on one hand and apex parfum on the other. Then compare them. They aren't close. I really like sauvage elixir and still own it and wear it. It's a great frag, and Apex parfum is not all that similar to it, but the profile and vibe are similar. Apex parfum is simply alot better. 9.5/10 If you like this profile.

An amazing fragrance. Easy to fall for first impressions of green + citrus. This transitions into many different things and is very complex. I started out doubting it based on other reviews, but after wearing for an hour, this is super high quality. The price is a difficult one, it’s very expensive. But if you want the absolute best of this style of fragrance, this is the one.

Crazy that this is pulling a 3.37 on here. Complex, masculine, great progression, eternal longevity, and balance. Dense, but not overwhelming. Projection sits closer to the skin, but the sillage more than makes up for that. What are the downsides? "Originality"? Price? This is a love, imo. Pick it up at a discounter.

Beautiful masculine scent with some throwbacks. For the price, I wanted a better silage but also it is good like this so it's not choking. Woody, aromatic, sweet, fruity, and off of my skin it's quite leathery in a good way more like suade. Year around and office safe IMO. I love this for sure.

This is essentially TF’s Italian Cypress. Very close, but with a sharper leather aspect, whereas TF’s has more of an incense/woody quality. Apex has many more subtle complexities, of course, with more distinct transitions, ending with a great, lasting ambergris.

This is almost identical to Italian Cypress off the cap. On the skin, as has been said, it is a richer and heavier scent. That aspect could be off-putting to some. It is, unmistakably, a dry-leaning evergreen/leather scent.

As for someone who loves foresty / woody fragrances this is a masterpiece! I don't get all the hate and why the raring is so low? If I was rich I'd definitely buy this! But I guess it's not for everyone.

The most elegant perfume and close to my heart in my collection, I have over 50 perfume .. this one is for all seasons and all occasions.. easy to wear and scream masculine! Beast perfume.. just love it

Smells very very close to Italian cypress which is rated 4.2. As usual because its roja it has been down voted. I love this one and it is the best performing roja I have had. Strong masculine scent.

I can only assume the reason for the hate is due to the price, however I can sense the effort that has gone into creating this fragrance, citrus with woody undertones, masculine for sure..

Complex. I get lots of oakmoss up front on this and less citrus than other reviews. It's an earthy fragrance for me. A powerful scent appropriate to the name Apex.

This stuff is phenomenal, don’t listen to the troll comments and fake ratings. Scent: 9.5/10 Longevity: 9.5/10 Sillage: 8.5/10 Projection: 7.5/10

A thicker, denser and richer version of Apex. Reminds me of a thick, honeyed, pine tree fougere. It is gorgeous and suitable for year round wear.

I’ve tried so many Roja perfumes only to find they are expensive versus the performance (as per Killian, some TF private blend and Chanel). This however together with Enigma are for me beautiful enough that I might forgive its foibles. This like Enigma also has competition which is a lot cheaper and arguably better (Givenchy). So, comparisons to Aventus are not fair. I can see why people might however this is much greener, darker and deeper and more akin to someone trapped in the 60’s as opposed to the Aventus 2000’s version. Its bubble is strong for maybe 2-3 hours (like Enigma) before it starts falling apart and for the next ten hours is very sedate and more urinic. Again like Enigma I do enjoy the ride while it lasts - the green musty dusty oakmossy leathery tobacco Fougere pineapple et al citrus make it refreshing but old school. Something a suede/tweed/velvet jacket and Les Paul playing MG driver with pointy boots would wear. Interestingly it’s cheaper and better than the Parfum which works at a lower volume level but for longer! I’m writing this only because I have yet again purchased another discovery pack to finally make up my mind as to whether to buy or not.

A much more mature, elegant and discrete take on the original EDP. You get all those green notes and citruses, but made darker. Much much darker. This is suitable for very formal events, while the EDP is an everyday wear. You'll get the surprise from the Parfum towards the middle, when it becomes brighter and louder, similar to the way that the EDP opens. Both very masculine, both very complex, both very well suited for a gentleman. If I had to choose one, I'd choose the Parfum. But because I like both so much, I think that I will push the budget limit and buy them both. They're THAT good! Later edit: After spraying it from an actual bottle and not a sample, I understood how potent this perfume really is. Be very careful with the number of sprays because it will intoxicate you, and probably everyone around you. One, maximum two sprays will suffice to make a statement.

Green. Very dark green. If you could smell a color, Roja's Apex Parfum would be the deepest, darkest green on the color spectrum. The bottle color is quite fitting. If you've ever worked with or trimmed evergreen cypress trees throughout the Southern US and got the sap on your hands, you'll immediately recognize some major notes. ...Or if you have ever been shoved into one by your grade school bully (thanks, Korey). For those familiar, imagine taking a bottle of 1970s Halson Z-14 and boiling it down to an almost thick, tar-like consistency. Then, applying a couple of dabs to the collarbone, gripping you closely all day, yet not overpowering. Rating: 8/10 (for those that appreciate classic green scents and don't have grade school bully association)

It's Homme de Roja, a fantastic perfume of very high quality wood and leather, very refined, very high perfumery, it remains the best perfume release from the brand, the eau de parfum is also good, more versatile and less efficient but remains correct. I have been using them since their release and I am very satisfied. 4.5/5 I own two bottles, a mini 10ml and a large 50ml, and I can assure you that the small bottle is more powerful and more refined than the large bottle.

Wow. I tried this and like it as well as the edp. I’m so embarrassed that so many people are comparing it to Sauvage or Polo Green. Wow! That’s like saying a red Mazda Miata is like a Ferrari 458 or a Corvette is like a Ferrari 458. Nup - do yourself a favour and don’t let these reviews make up your mind without trying it. Ironically there are other perfumes that smell more similar from famous brands that if anything makes this perfumes price more so the issue.

It's a nice masculine fragrance Thick and heavier classic fougere, but still clean and polished scent Leaning warmer months but could also be worn all year round However i think it's way overpriced for what you're getting especially when the bottle looks so tacky with the apex font reminding me of the axe shower gels 😂

Apex Parfum is more smoothly blended than the EDP. In fact, it’s one of the down-sides of the Parfum. I enjoy the cypress, tobacco, leather, etc...that is more prominently featured in the EDP. Performance is similar. Having said that, I still think it’s a good scent.

To me this is inferior to Savauge Elixir. I wish there wasn't so much bitter citrus OR there was more sweetness to counter-balance it. I get some people like that dry citrus/champagne scent style but not me. If you love citrus (Think LV City of Stars and MFK Gentle Fluidity Silver) and you love Savauge Elixir, this will be a match made in heaven for you. :)

Classic barbershop fragrance, but it's a barbershop from hell (don't mean it in a bad way, it just smells badass lol). Not my vibe to be honest, the smoky leathery pineapple and citruses give this fragrance a harsh, "IDGAF" vibe and it doesn't quite fit my profile to be honest. Performs at least 7hrs in my experience, moderate projection. 5/10

Soft, old school, green/herbal. Good quality. Reminds me a bit of Scandal pour Homme, also by Roja. I like Apex but sillage is nonexistant. 7/10

Smells like Sauvage. Not worth the price.

Another old school, overly potent, ambroxan Axe fragrance. Heavy cypress and thick juniper which is very abrasive and old fashioned to me. Feels like a 70’s or 80’s dad fragrance. Definitely the kind of scent that you couldn’t wear around the office without pissing everyone off. It smells nice as a room fresher at Christmas time but I wouldn’t want to wear this. I’m now into my 5th round of scrubbing and the ambroxan stink is harder to remove than a tattoo. It's so obnoxiously strong that I would honestly be afraid of the health hazards from wearing it. Totally toxic.

I have apex edp, they say it was reformulated, what they reformulated the bottle and price, they put it in 50ml, this is the only one that has been reformulated, I think he thinks we are all idiots to deceive us with this perfume, there is nothing reformulated, it is same as edp, the price is huge for its quality, 3/10, if you want apex, you can buy moncler, it is 80% identical, and the price is 3 times lower, and the longevity is double, sorry for roja but they have some perfumes in stock that are not worth the money

I don't like this scent, it's like the smell of eucalyptus

All of Roja’s scents remind me of a 1980s Wall Street corporate raider multi-millionaire sitting down at a bougie ass club where it costs $100 for a rum & coke, and this one is no different. If that’s your thing cool, but it’s not really for me. Maybe when I’m older I’ll get it?

Initial spray and I was like Oh my days, have I just spent over £300 for the steroid version of ElixirSausage???? The initial blast was really similar to my nose, I had to quickly spray Elixir on my other arm so I can observe both closely. Within few minutes I noticed the fougere old school vibe richness come from ROJA parfum apex while Elixir drifted more toward spicy sweet vibe -- phew! That's a relief, or maybe not, as ROJA refused to effuse through the air majestically and fill the room like I'd expected (or like Elixir did and does). After some minutes, I agreed to settle for less and thought maybe expecting it to fill the room was too much to ask, and just wanted it to fill the air around me at least, but no, all I got was the occasional trace - certainly not something I'd hoped for when I decided to pull the trigger despite the hefty price tag. ROJA, come on, it's not asking too much if I expect a faultless sillage on a near-£400 fragrance is it?! The scent itself is to die for though! I can't take anything away from that - it smells gorgeous, bold and very masculine. When you get to a public gathering and it manages to stretch out to people around you, you'll be making a statement for sure. It oozes class and masculinity. Like some would say, high-priced perfumery doesn't necessarily imply nuclear, though in my books it does! Well, that being said, it does last long on skin and clothing, it just doesn't give me that beastly sillage trail which I was really expecting tbh. Maybe I am expecting too much? Maybe not. Maybe I need to be patient and see how my relationship with it evolves? Final verdict: If price is not an issue, then this one (particularly for the scent profile alone) is premium juice and may be full bottle worthy. Otherwise, I'd say get your hands on a sample and try it for yourself.

This is the one I settled on in the end. I tried Apex EdP and it was a little too fleeting in it's composition, the scent itself was fantastic, but I was struggling to detect it after three to four hours, from a Roja EdP I expected a little better than that. Enter the Parfum, no such problems here, this one takes the EdP and kicks it up to 11! (the EdP is around a 7). The Parfum more or less has the same scent profile, but everything is ramped up, more opulence, more density, and the transition between the stages takes longer. I also find this projects better, which is odd, because I have found that Extrait strength usually does not do this in comparison to EdT and EdP. Again, Apex is a very 1980's old school woody/ leather Chypre in the same style as Polo Green/ Halston Z14 etc. But this one is brought bang up to date, Apex feels timeless and very wearable. I would absolutely recommend to sample it first, this may not be for everyone. Roja was going for Jungle here I think, but for me this falls firmly in "Nordic Forest" territory with the pine and woods etc. The one thing that baffles me are the Sauvage Elixir comparisons, I own both fragrances and wear them at least weekly. I even did a "one on each wrist" comparison, and I can assure you they are nothing alike. This release has taken a lot of stick from people saying it looks like "Axe deodorant" etc. I actually quite like the bottle design and name. Go easy on the trigger though, this one means business!

Apex smells very good, it is an upscale easy wear. I enjoy it quite a bit. It is not mind blowing in construction or scent profile, but the blend is quite nice. Some sweetness, smoke, woods, and a 1980s nostalgic feel to it. This is a fragrance that men will enjoy smelling probably more so than woman. The Parfum wears heavier and longer, I enjoy it much more. If you own the eau de Parfum then this is redundant, but the Parfum would definitely be my choice if I owned neither. The biggest issue is there are some amazing fragrances at the $500 price point and this one smells very good, it is not head of the class. 8/10 for me.

An absolutely beautiful cypress centered fragrance, I wasn't that fussed on the original but here the concentration has rounded out everything and made it an incredibly luxurious version, the pineapple note in the opening is a touch of genius , coupled with the green notes I can't help but think of a juicy pineapple and the green stalk included, as the fragrance transitions the basenotes and cypress take over to reveal a classy retro fragrance of ultimate quality, my cypress bench mark was previously Clive Christian cypress, this is just as good and slightly similar.

First impressions: this reminds me more of a slightly updated version of Polo Green mixed with TF Italian Cypress (what I remember it to smell like). I get the idea or "vibe" or something like Sauvage Elixir, but the scent profile of Apex Parfum doesn't really smell like SE; Gambit smells like SE. I'm on the fence about this; I'll be back after a few wears to give my final impressions. It isn't as strong as I thought it would be, but the sillage is great; I smell it everytime I move around. For a Roja, this has great performance.

Not sure how no one has compared to m by puredisrance or fetish by roja. All were created by roja and share pretty much the same DNA. Same smoke out of this one but more oakmoss, I like it as m and fetish are wayyyyy too smokey to my nose. I like both a lot but I can never find the time to wear, this one I can see wearing more often

I guess the ratings system won't tell me anything, too many shills & bots. In fact, this makes me even more curious about it. Why bother attacking something that's not a threat? Still, it's too expensive so I imagine it'll stop at curiosity. There's no need for pineapple in a man's scent trail anyway.
