I’m thrilled to say the new Roja Parfums exclusive for Bergdorf Goodman feels like it was crafted by Roja Dove himself. This fragrance carries Roja’s unmistakable DNA—luxurious, detailed, and deeply refined. I truly hope that Roja continues to work here and there for the most special releases from the house. No shade to Mr. Cotton, but let’s be honest...Roja understands the BG client like few others do, and he’s masterfully converted Bergdorf devotees into lifelong Roja collectors. This is a modern take on the aldehydic experience and it’s beautifully done. Aldehydes, often linked to the golden age of perfumery, suddenly feel fresh again. Here, they’re reimagined in a way that’s as refined as it is unexpected. Like Tea at BG, this scent captures the spirit of the experience rather than a literal “tea” or “champagne” note and it’s more about the feeling than the flavor. The opening of C@BG sparkles. It’s as if you’ve walked into a lively toast with multiple flutes of fruity champagne clinking together. The fruits are luscious, ripe, and full-bodied. The aldehydes add a soft effervescence, recreating that champagne fizz and giving the composition a playful sense of lift. As the fragrance evolves, the sweetness of the fruit transitions seamlessly into a warm, creamy vanilla, gently wrapped in soft musks. I don’t detect any animalic edge, but there’s a quiet woody warmth in the base that gives it depth and polish. The dry down feels distinctive and elegant. I can’t think of anything that smells like it outside of the Roja brand. Roja loyalists will be pleased because it’s modern, joyous, and effortlessly sophisticated. I love C@BG’s versatility. It’s the kind of fragrance that works year-round, from black-tie evenings to chic, casual afternoons. Like other Roja exclusives at Bergdorf’s, these bottles arrive straight from France before they’ve had much time to macerate and mature, so early impressions may not reflect the perfume’s full potential. For reference, my bottle of Tea at Bergdorf’s is far richer today than the early testers from launch last year. So, I’d suggest giving this one time—it will likely blossom beautifully in the bottle, growing even more special with age. As for price—let’s not even go there. No one buys Roja for a bargain. You buy Roja because you refuse to smell ordinary. And while a few recent releases have leaned a bit safer, this exclusive proves that Roja Parfums still delivers what we crave from the house: luxury, artistry, and distinction. Below are my first impressions from initially smelling and from my first full wearing from a sample today. My bottle has been reserved🙌 Initial Impressions: Opens very bright with a berry medley and is very very sparkly and bubbly. Very much champagne and aldehydes that’s dry but soft vanilla is present right away to sweeten it up. Soft and elegant projection and not as loud as Tea. The sweetness almost has a bubblegum designer feel but it’s smooth. It has an easier appeal compared to Tea at BG. The beginning stages of the dry-down has that Aoud Extraordinaire DNA but this has more bubblegum sweetness and the fruits are juicier and not as sweet. The dry aldehydes and champagne linger in the background still. The musk choice is very clean, fluffy and airy and pairs very nice with the vanilla. Not cloying at all and is balanced perfectly. So far, it’s a beautiful scent that is balanced to perfection. The fruits, vanilla, and champagne/aldehydes are what I pick up the most. Very much unisex and can be worn all year-round. My only gripe is that it does have a designer bubblegum sweetness that may turn people away from the $1300 price tag. First full wearing: A follow up to yesterday’s first impressions of Champagne at BG. Today, I did my first full wearing. Champagne at BG shows why fragrance must be sprayed on skin. On paper, the aldehydes and champagne are very intense with the sparkling and bubbly quality. Also, a slight fruit loops type fruitiness is present. This stage lasts for a long time on paper, and rather, disappears very quickly on my skin. The depth I get on skin from the vanilla and slight bubblegum sweetness does not come out as much on paper. This scent continuously changes on skin from the brighter notes to the woody, sweet depth. Spraying on paper only highlights the sparkling qualities with the juicy and slight fruity berry medley. From a performance standpoint, Champagne at BG does not project as much as Tea at BG on my skin. The projection is softer and more elegant as the slight sparkle, fruits, vanilla, and fuzzy and clean musk permeate through the air. When it comes to longevity, the vanilla and woody backbone sticks around for a long time. This lines up with Tea at BG as this is still lasting on my skin 8 hours later. Overall, I enjoy the scent of Tea at BG more, however, Champagne at BG has a very elegant wearing experience that I actually enjoy more. This has grown on me since first smelling yesterday and finally wearing it for the first time today.

Here are my amateur thoughts on Champagne at BG by Roja Parfums, which will be limited to 150 bottles at Bergdorf Goodman. Right off the bat, I get that sparkling champagne and soft aldehydes...bright, fun, and much gentler than something sharp and “statement-making” like Chanel No. 5. There’s also this designer bubblegum vibe in the background, reminiscent of Paco Rabanne 1 Million or JPG Le Male flankers, that doesn’t really go away, and while it makes the scent more mass-appealing, it also keeps it from feeling truly “special.” The drydown is very light and smooth with vanilla, soft woods, and musk, while oud is basically nonexistent. The oud may be just a placeholder, which adds to the unfortunate continuance of large companies deciding that synthetic oud needs to be in EVERY new release. Performance seems a little low on my sample, becoming a skin scent after an hour, though it probably needs time to settle after transit. I will need to retest it again in a couple days. Even with its quirks, I’m still picking up a bottle for my collection...this is partly because it’s such a limited release and my fiancée likes it too. But if I’m honest, I personally prefer the Tea at BG release; it feels more unique and memorable to me than Champagne at BG. Update: this one is growing on me. To be honest, it’s got a fantastic opening.

This is so lovely. Thank God I got it during the BG money off event otherwise, I might not have splurged. I believe this is an easy to understand fragrance. It’s not complex but the tropical notes give it a little special edge. The aldehydes are perfectly proportioned (no Chanel no 5 here ya’ll). I wish Roja would reconsider keeping more of his limited editions. It’s hard when I fall in love with them and they are limited. I fell for the OG Vetiver and Bergamot fragrances but, alas, I can’t purchase them again. I actually emptied both. The price may turn some away but if you are browsing through Bergdorf Goodmon, it’s worth a sniff.

I think a lot of fragrance "reviewers" take the name of a fragrance, or the brief, or whatever information they get prior to actually smelling it and let it color their opinion; I'm not calling anyone a liar who says they get "Sparkling, effervescent champagne" as a top note, but I think the notion that this fragrance offers some sort of fizzy, three dimensional experience is a bit hyperbolic at best, and disingenuous at worst. I will say that this is pretty impressive with regard to blending classic and modern perfumery, it's incredibly unique (at least to my nose as I haven't smelled anything quite like it) Champagne at BG is very clean, light, airy, sweet and all around likable. The fruits are blended in a way that no specific fruit sticks out to me, it's just a clean fruity scent that feels appropriate for any time of year, but I am interested to see how this reacts to warm weather and sun. The dry down is nice, but really just a soft woody vanilla. *** Edit - After wearing this to a concert last night and getting the overheated skin version of the dry down, the honey note was definitely the strongest in the dry down, at least in that situation. I do feel this fragrance leans quite feminine, if you're a male who has trouble feeling comfortable wearing feminine leaning scents, this most definitely isn't for you. Is this fragrance worth the price tag? Absolutely not, but I don't know that any fragrance is objectively worth $1200. The sum of the ingredients aren't what dictate price, it's the scarcity of the production run, and the notoriety of the house that created it. If you're an avid luxury fragrance collector, I'm sure the price point won't bother you too much, if you're an enthusiast with no brand loyalty and just looking for the latest and greatest scent, I'm sure you'll be sorely disappointed.

Not a review (yet, the bottle isn’t even out yet) but fragrantica users have such a hate hard on for Roja fragrances simply because of the prices. It’s not truly about scent for some of these people

From my experience, I am really happy I managed to get a bottle. Yes, the price is up there, but the quality and the limited availability make it feel worth it. The fragrance opens like walking into a tropical party right at golden hour. Sweet fruits and honey fill the air, glowing under soft lights, and the whole vibe feels warm and happy from the first sniff. As it settles, it chills out into a smooth mix of patchouli and vanilla, giving the sweetness a cozy, steady warmth. Everything feels super clean, well blended, and low-key festive. To put it simply, this is a tropical fruity and honey-driven scent with a patchouli and vanilla base. It is very sweet and super easy for almost anyone to enjoy. I honestly do not get any champagne note at all. The quality is high, the blend is smooth with a soft aldehydic touch, and the only downside is the sillage, which is pretty weak and stays close to the skin. The good part is that it lasts for hours once it settles, even if it keeps things quiet.

Opens up fruity and aldehydic. I detect a whole brunch of fruits. Pineapple, guava, melon, pear, papaya, bergamot. Perhaps one of the most complex fruit accords out there The champagne note really does not remind me of champagnes I've tried. The honey isn't present in the opening but reveals itself more every passing minute after spraying. The oud here is very very distant in the opening at least. Overall perhaps not my favorite roja but I could see this really fitting someone else's taste
