Lovely smell and fantastic daily wearer that isn't like other fragrances - it doesn't smell anything like Aventus and I cannot even say they are similar to my nose. It is a more complex and dare say, more mature fragrance than that. It's certainly more subtle. You can wear it with anything. Projection is quite a lot lower than Aventus and you find yourself spraying it on clothes to maximise that longevity. You can do a lot of overspraying with this, it's very forgiving. Sillage is very low but then most of us here have collections and if you want a sillage monster that will turn noses and heads in your direction, then we mostly all have a go to for that. This isn't that kind of fragrance so I don't feel like that is a negative, even if this is an expensive fragrance for sure and some may want a bit more oomph. Loewe 001 is the Aventus clone and has a much longer performance than Elysium if that is what you are after, for example. I'd like to see more after four or five hours here but there is nothing stopping you spraying more. I just accept that it isnt going to last you all day. Doesnt mean you shouldn't wear it. I just wish it had more sticking power. I think the strength here is its versatility and ubiquity rather than performance. It's clearly a fine fragrance with some mystique and class to it but it doesnt need to be a powerhouse nose hammer. Horses for courses, people. Upon the opening, you are greeted with beautiful natural citrus notes and strong juniper berries (a great scent for gin fans out there). I experienced these for the first five minutes. After that, some woody and spiced notes began to join the juniper berries. I'll be honest: the fragrance is lovely both at the opening and in the middle, as the juniper is well incorporated into this composition. After about 15 or 20 minutes, I started to pick up on some vanilla that lingered for the rest of the wear. As for performance, I noticed strong projection for the first hour, reaching about an arm's length, and it smelled fantastic during this time. However, after that first hour, it faded to a skin scent that required me to bring my nose close to my arm to detect it. By spraying it on my clothes, I could still catch whiffs of it up to about sixth hour but this was only on cloths. Overall, while the performance isn't exceptional for a niche price. In summary, this fragrance smells great, and I enjoy wearing it. However, given its price, I would recommend opting for the EDP intense or Parfum versions instead of the cologne. Lastly, while I appreciate this bottle, I don’t see myself purchasing it anytime soon, as I already own Merakai Bliss by Patek Maison, which has a very similar DNA. However, Bliss comes with the added benefit of being an EDP, offering longevity and projection of over six hours.

I think that these reviews have already described this fragrance pretty well, so my fresh take is - Elysium is the Infinity Gauntlet, and all of the popular, heavy-hitter men's colognes are the Infinity Stones. Elysium takes the grapefruit and ambers of Bleu de Chanel, the fresh spiciness of Juniper Sling or Lothair, the woody vetiver from Terre d'Hermes, and then the smoky drydown of Aventus, and combines them into the ultimate 2000s fragrance. This is why I understand both sides of the arguments claiming this does or doesn't smell like whichever fragrance, because whilst the combination is its own scent profile, I believe that many aspects of Elysium are noticeably inspired by the afore mentioned. This amalgamation of all the classic masculine DNAs is guaranteed to be appealing, but it comes at the cost of not smelling like anything groundbreaking. The lack of uniqueness coupled with the poor performance means Elysium should not be as expensive as it is, and I think this is the main reason why so many people here aren't a fan. Nevertheless, if you like those Infinity Stones (which I do), and you're looking for a marginal upgrade in quality and complexity, then Elysium might be perfect for you. I really do not understand the blatant hatred this perfume receives nowadays. I bought this from the Burlington Arcade flagship from my recent holiday in London. What better way one can spoil himself by buying an English perfume from arguably the best scent maker in the world. On a more serious note, what do people expect from a scent profile like this? 24 hour longevity and a monstrous sillage? If you do, please find another hobby, since this one is clearly not for you. Surprisingly though, this fragrance for what it is, is exceptionally long lasting. Opening notes of the most reinvigorating, effervescent and sparkling citruses that will guarantee a good mood when you wear it. It further develops with a very interesting tart apple, lavender, pink pepper and cedar accord, only to fully dry down to a sensual masculine base of LOTS of vetiver, ambers and a very slight hint of vanilla molecules. Sillage is not monstrous, which is more than expected for a natural smelling, light fragrance. It is just enough to get you noticed from up close. As far as longevity goes, 6-8 hours++ of the bliss you get from wearing this fragrance is more than good enough. And I would rather smell great for 6-8 hours than smell ok all day.

I understand the hype. It’s addictive. After years of collecting, I finally bought a bottle and wish I had done it sooner. Yes, it is a bit generic, but it's done perfectly--top shelf genericness. It's crisp, clean, and smells so rich. This is a CEO type of scent in my opinion; however, it's versatile, fitting n the boardroom just as well as it would the beach. While it favors warm weather, I think it's not out of place in the cold if someone wants a go-anywhere scent or signature fragrance. I personally can get this to last a full workday with it getting close a skin scent around the end of the day. Sillage the first couple hours is pretty good. I do about 4-5 sprays total. I have very limited experience with the parfum version, just a quick tester spritz comparing the two. I frankly preferred the cologne and actually found the performance to be better. I do want to get hands (well, nose) on with it again to compare. The eau intense version I thought I would love, but after smelling the tester, it was a huge miss. Can't remember details, but found something off with it. I think this one is the king of series and is something I never want to be without in my collection again.

I have always fancied that Gianni Agnelli smelt exactly like this. It's nothing to do with all that heritage patter. Elysium's got no darkness, no ceremony, none of that inherited misery. It smells like aristocracy after it's learnt to take it easy; a dip off the yacht in the morning, a run along the coast with the top down, then dinner in a linen shirt that's still mingling with salt and sunshine from earlier on. Living the dream. Agnelli made formal gear look casual, made being loaded look like a habit, made being a weirdo look natural; watch over the cuff, collar hinging open. Elysium does the same move in smell form: status without straining, luxury without explaining itself. It smells like a fella that's already in the room the rest of them are still queuing for. The purists greet that it's too safe for the price. They're missing the point entirely. Elysium was not built to challenge anybody; it was built to perfect you. And ease, when it's done right, is one of the most expensive illusions going. Magical with a tux, just as good with a white t-shirt and jeans. A modern classic, and (in my head anyway); the definitive smell of Agnelli on the Riviera.

I've been smelling the Aventus DNA for years at this point. To my nose, its no longer unique to me. I still find this type of scent profile pleasant, and I could say for most people this would be great. My issue is that this type of DNA has been replicated to death and many are aware of what this is. That said Roja has their own twist obviously... it's a bit more lite and airy this would be used for the summer or warmer months I believe it just won't cut through the cold air like other frags might. I own Aventus Cologne and this reminds me of that so I find it a bit redundant to own both but I still like it and don't regret buying it at all. However, for those of you who own Aventus or Aventus cologne already you may be slightly disappointed because to the average nose it smells very close. However, I love Rojas creations and will continue to buy and sample their fragrances its really an awesome house that produces straight bangers. Lastly, Elysium isn't a frag that will last all day. But if you have a summer dinner date or you're outside by the water or beach this would be for that. Hope this review helps! Overall 9/10

A fantastic 10/10 scent that suffers from poor performance (at least on me, but I see that many others echo that sentiment). For me, it is nice and strong for the first hour, and begins to calm down after that. I periodically catch trails of it for the next 2 - 3 hours, but by the 5 - 6 hour mark, I struggle to detect it at all. I believe it is still there at the 6+ hour mark, just as a literal skin scent. So, based on the scent alone, it's an absolute masterpiece of a fragrance within a category of scents that seems easy to "get right" based on what else is on the market. The drawback of this, however, is that you don't have to spend this much money to get a nice citrus freshie. You do get what you pay for in terms of quality with Elysium, though - the ingredients are top notch. To address the Aventus comparisons (as an owner of both) - in my opinion, the similarities are in the citrus notes. That is where the relationship ends, though. To my nose, Elysium is a very different fragrance to Aventus that just occupies the same category. I am very glad to have this in the collection.

Reviewing a bottle from 2022. Elysium was launched in 2017. This is a modern aromatic fougere that is truly intoxicating. A soft but sparkling citrus blend opens into an herbal aroma. Vetiver smoothed by a touch of fruity and floral notes . Woody and earthy aromatic drydown of remarkable complexity and airiness. As has previously been noted it is a difficult scent to characterise as the many notes meld and overlap. It is very well blended. This bears no resemblance in terms of quality and beauty to the watered down designer Blue fragrances or dupes it has been compared to. Elysium or its flankers are a must to sample for anyone seriously interested in fragrance. Quality- exceptional 5/5 Unisex - leans masculine Performance- poor to average ( better in the intense or perfume version) 4/5 This is a stunning refined fragrance of depth and substance. Regarding value you need to decide for yourself but do not be put off by negative reviews which mostly complain about the price or Roja himself not the actual fragrance. * Winner in Fragrantica best British Niche of 2023* 10/10

Elysium was one of the first niche fragrances I added to my collection, just before the pandemic. I started with a 10ml decant alongside Aventus and Layton, but it didn't take long before I knew I needed a full bottle. Even today, I consider it one of the best blue fragrances on the market. The quality is outstanding. The opening blends sparkling citrus with juicy fruits, creating an aroma reminiscent of freshly squeezed fruit juice straight from a juice machine. It's bright, refreshing and instantly uplifting. Another advantage is its accessibility. Whether you're buying a full bottle or sourcing it from reputable resellers, Elysium Parfum Cologne can often be found at a far more reasonable price than Aventus. While the performance isn't as strong as the Parfum version, I actually prefer the Parfum Cologne for its vibrant and energetic character. The Parfum feels richer and more suited to cooler weather, whereas the Parfum Cologne excels as an invigorating fresh fragrance. It's the kind of scent that can lift your mood and boost your energy, even on cold, cloudy days.

This is a gorgeous sent!! Becoming one of my favorite "Blue " fragrance. Doesn't smell shower jelly....more bright and sweet in a way. It smells very high quality and does well in almost every situation. Signature scent worthy if you have the funds to do so! I also have the dupe from fragrance world and that smells 90%+ and is alittle bit stronger with the performance..... quality isn't on par with the original. I get solid performance from Elysium....6-8 hours of longevity with the first few hours (0-3) being the best with silage and projection. About a arm's length in that time with a mild to strong scent cloud. Then it tapers to a few inches off the skin ( hours 4 and 5) before becoming a skin scent ( hours 6-8). I do believe alot of people may go nose blind to this fragrance.... I do from time to time. When I do, I always ask my son if he still smells me and he copies me on that. This will definitely be a rebuy once I'm done with the bottle! I would rate the scent a 9/10 , performance 8/10 , and price point a 7/10. Overall Rating for this fragrance is a solid 8/10!

So comparing Parfum Cologne with the new EDP (they are suppose to be the same just renaming), I notice that the EDP has more vibrant citruses in the opening. The DNA and backbone is still there but there's certain sparkle to the opening in the EDP. Now this just might be that because I have a purchased decant of the parfum cologne, and maybe some of the bright citruses due to age has diminished a bit compared to my new bottle of the EDP, but it's definitely noticeable. As far as performance and longevity I can't comment as I just got my bottle and just sprayed it, I will update later. All that being said, I am IN LOVE with this profile and very happy with my purchase. Edit: Longevity and projection are fine for my skin as I get around 6-7 hours longevity with the majority of the strength coming in the first 2-3 hours before it becomes a still noticeable skin scent/bubble. Comparing the two, I would say the original has slightly better performance, but not by much, but the new version has a better and brighter opening. I prefer this newer version overall.

Roja Dove Elysium smells like a billionaire’s version of a blue fragrance. Bright grapefruit, bergamot, and lime explode off the skin with this ultra-clean, sparkling freshness that immediately smells expensive. It’s familiar enough to be mass appealing, but polished to a ridiculous level. Think Bleu de Chanel with yacht money. The magic is in how smooth everything feels. The citrus stays crisp while vetiver and ambergris give it that airy, masculine luxury vibe — less “rugged woodsman,” more “tailored white linen shirt in Monaco.” It’s insanely easy to wear and gets compliments constantly because it just smells effortlessly attractive. Performance isn’t beast mode on me, but that’s not really the point. Elysium is about smelling fresh, clean, and rich instead of announcing itself from three zip codes away. Overpriced? Probably. Smell amazing anyway? Yep. 9/10 — the king of luxury freshies.

But in fact, the scent you smell is not any of these notes, and in this perfume you are faced with an accord of these notes that together create a unique scent. The meaning of this perfume in Greek mythology is; heaven. Fragrance Journal Entry #106 One of the best "blue" fragrances ever released, this stuff put Roja on the map. Starts off with this sort of metallic blue fruit punch smell with some earthiness in the background from the vetiver, as it dries a little leather and vanilla come out but it mostly retains the opening scent. A truly unique freshy that captivates the wearer moreso than other "blue" fragrances out there. There is nothing else like it on the market and i honestly don't mind the price, i've found 100mls full presentation for 150-160$ which is what you'd pay retail for a new designer release so pretty good value considering. The performance isn't amazing but i'd say it's pretty average for a freshy (4-6h) Rating: 8.6/10 Blind Buy Safe? YES

I think they shame those who don’t constantly criticize this perfume, I honestly don’t get it. I made a blind purchase, and it has become a perfume that I will keep buying because I love its scent. It might be my signature scent. I believe its longevity has been unfairly criticized like a snowball effect because it’s not below the average of perfumes on the market. It’s suitable for daily use, and the reactions I get when wearing it are always like, "Wow, is this your perfume? It’s such a masculine scent, what’s its name?" I agree that the price is high, but it’s not insanely high, and I can say that it's one of the good options you can get at this price. In short, it’s a rich, masculine citrus bomb that I love and wear with excitement. 9/10

There are only a few fragrances that, if I see a fantastic deal, I’ll grab it even if I don’t need it. Elysium by Roja Parfums, and African Rooibos by Chris Collins. Hip Hop by Zernell Gillie is another I always keep a back up of, but I’ve never seen any deals on it. Anyway, to me Elysium is still incredible. I’ve had it virtually from its release and it just puts me in a great mood when I wear it. Not to mention I just found testers for $143 each, so I bought two more bottles. That’s about what you’d pay retail for a designer fragrance these days. This is a fragrance I just never get sick of. I have so many fragrances, around 600, so I don’t wear it as much as I’d like, but spring and summer are coming, so I’ll rock it quite a bit.

Such a beautiful and natural fresh/citrus/woody men's scent. Really bright, uplifting and energising. Long lasting considering it's a freshie, with a perfect projection for the first 4-5 hours (arm's length, not obnoxiously loud). Super versatile - can be worn to any occasion, by any age, all year round. Always seems to be well received; I've had many people tell me how good it smells and men often ask what it is so they can get it for themselves (until they see the price lol) I appreciate it's not cheap, but the quality of the ingredients is obvious as soon as you smell it. I think the price is reasonable when you compare to other niche fragrances. I would rate this a 9.5 out of 10. Truly a masterpiece in my opinion!
