Goodman's Bergdorf Goodman

Goodman’s is a gorgeously sophisticated aromatic oriental, perfectly encapsulating the wealth and elegance of the Bergdorf Goodman clientele. It’s got similarities to other creations from Roja, namely Vetiver and Semi Bespoke 10, but does go off in its own direction. Vetiver dominates the scent profile with its dry, grassy qualities, complimented by the refreshing burst of a rindy, bitter bergamot. From here the oriental aspects make themselves known, dry frankincense and subtle warm spices of cinnamon and cardamom linger in the base to give it some kick. I think this is a lovely scent - it’s not as unique or exciting as some other roja fragrances, but that’s the idea. This scent is made for the modern man, who very clearly has money but wishes to walk the streets without making a fuss. It’s a beautifully classic masculine scent, one I would definitely pick up if I found it for the right price.

Very nice masculine offering from Roja Dove. I can see this being a daily driver, albeit an expensive one. Opens with a nice burst of citrus followed by white flowers and cinnamon. The base is is a combo of the white flower nuances/cinnamon/vetiver/musks/woods/and animalics. I know this sounds kinda like a strange brew but it works. The white flowers are not "floral" but provide a fresh vibe, the cinnamon is very dry and combines with other spices notes to create spicy woody fragrance. The animalics provide a contrast to all of the above and is used in deliberate and measured doses. The end result is a masculine, fresh, spicy, wood fragrance with interesting notes and counter notes.

If you want to understand master perfumery, this is the perfect place to start. This is a perfect year round gem. The cinnamon adds a slight powdery sweetness that almost feels like violet. And the animalic notes add just a slight funk. This is so perfectly balanced that no single note pops out but together work as a symphony. It is reminiscent of an old school fougere without smelling like grandpa. This is the smell of country clubs, Rolex and CEO’s.

The best floral fougere on the market. It is stunning, and truly regal because Roja balances the florals with the civet and other slightly animatic notes so well that it becomes regal, elegant, and head turning.

Beautiful classic fragrance which has many resemblance of Creed Bois du Portugal with a higher quality and longevity.

Roja Dove's fine tuning of Green Irish Tweed & a nice finished job all told. The perfumer seems to excel in taking an already popular fragrance and modifying it to his own taste specifications. In this case the mildy abrasive and high pitched dry citrus and woods notes have been taken back a notch to include a warmth not typically found in Green Irish Tweed. All in all a very likable scent, easy to wear and does provide some joy in witnessing the development of the notes in a way Green Irish Tweed really does not compare. Probably due to the bracing dry nature with not the same level of overall comfort as Goodman's. The two players from the Roja stable of scents, Vetiver extrait and Elysium, seem to make up the bulk of this composition. 8/10

A sharp, tangy fougere-like accord driven by Vetiver & Coriander. Very masculine, elegant and mature. This is Pierce Brosnan in a bottle. It's ok, but not special enough to want a bottle. Mr. Smelly probably really likes this. 7/10

A very nice basically citrus fragrance bolstered with some very mild animalics. It's certainly pleasant but I can't justify paying Roja prices for this when Bortnikoff (just as one example) does this better for less than half the cost. Similar to Scandal, but Scandal lasts longer and its herbal notes have more personality.

Like all Roja’s, this is a high-quality juice. Goodman’s is a signature scent type of fragrance best suited for fall, winter, and spring. Unfortunately, it’s a pass for me. I find this one too anamalic for my liking. However, if you’re a fan of civet and castoreum, you should give this one a try.

I’m fascinated by Roja parfums since years now. I’ve got a Roja collection of at least 18+ bottles. Bergdorf Goodman’s is my first disappointment unfortunately. I blind bought it reading the reviews here. This HAS to be original because I ordered it from the Roja website itself. The opening is kind of harsh and it stings my nostrils (this never happens with Roja). The citruses are short lived, then directly goes into typical Incense stick smell (not lit or smoky) with some woods and animalics. Like when you smell the interior of a Incense stick pack before lighting them. Maybe 1-2 hours of decent projection and then goes into skin scent with dominant woods and animalics. Don’t get me wrong, I love my animalic perfumes but goodman’s dry down smells like an old unused cupboard with incense sticks lying in the corner. Maybe I’m a bit biased because I dislike Olibanum/Incense notes in general. Well, Sultanate of Oman was my other blind buy gone wrong. But then again there wasn’t even that complexity which I expect from Roja. For all those who are unsure please try getting a sample first. Not worth a blind buy!

This isn't a much talked about Roja fragrance maybe because it's exclusive to the Goodman store but it's very luxurious and just amazing . The civet/castoreum (or whatever mild animalic that is) with bergamot works well and is fairly long lasting. The quality of raw materials is undeniable. I didn't get the other notes individually as they are all mixed up (in a good way) Edit- I also get very mild rose that's drenched in bergamot and castoreum. This rose isn't very prominent but helps to tame the civet and castoreum. Even the nozzle smells so intoxicating. Roja Dove has taken extreme care while crafting this exclusive for the Goodman Store. This is so good that other citrus scents including the mighty Aventus have become little redundant for me.

Elevate and change the game with this. Animalic elegance like that? Humble earthy, not a green scent. Part of the Collaborations collection, but this r here is a Roja collector's step up, the threshold towards the La Nuits for sure. Has a serious superiority to it, not a fancy, pure noble, mature. Got both the ancient and the supermodern sentiment to it. Instantly get a unique, perfect magic accord, a bit of the Roja citrus, crazy good entity not too possible to describe in words, right? Saw these few reviews, good reviews but nothing to do with the actual scent, and now I'm doing the same thing, tryna wordify. Not a chance. Astonished to the fullest and very pleased with the blind buy.

This is a perfectly nice fresh leaning masculine fragrance which at first comes across as very nice indeed and had me considering FBW ness . Citrus with Cedar vetiver cinammon. Fantastic. It lasts the whole day as well which is really unusual and beat my number one slot of Scandal Parfum pour Homme in this regard. But something kept annoying me. Reading the notes it is the mandarin essence. It ruined it for me. Sorry this gets a neutral. So close. so close Roja. But Scandal and Vetiver Parfums are still my No 1 and 2 respectively. Fragrance: 6.75/10 ... and then there is the price!!! Projection: 8.5/10 Longevity: 9.5/10

Airy subtle refined musk opening mild citrus, non-pungent highs and mids overall, get the class character, base depth, sheer manly built of all many delicate accents. Get why so many Roja notes listed, again as Reckless and lots of Rojas, it's never a one, few notes dominant. Anything but linear, got the canvas profile thicker than a main piece, and since again all's super quality one's getting the truth, utter profound nuanced scenario.

It's hard to describe the exact notes that are present in this perfume. Is it a vetiver fragrance or is it a patchouli frag? Well, It's an exclusive Roja Dove for Goodman. When I wear this, I allow myself to feel like Frank Sinatra, then I feel like a Saudi King, then I feel like a character from a 50's movie, and then I feel just like me and that is enough. Works well with great Hotels, beautiful suits and shoes.

Like two musicians who are out of harmony with one another, Goodman's opens with a confused mandarin/cinnamon combo. Settles into a frankincense fragrance. This Roja showcases fine materials which bear testament to the fact you can work with top quality ingredients and still fall flat. Goodman's no longer in production, is good riddance to a dull composition

The sillage and longevity of this fragrance are shockingly poor. It may smell nice, but I practically had to spray it up my nose to find out. It is no wonder BG no longer stocks it.

I don't get much from the top and mid. Heavy spice cedar and musk. It's very slightly animalistic, but not in a funk way. It's extremely resinous.
