H The Exclusive Black Tier

To start off I have to say I own Black Afgano and also Tuscan Leather and this amazing fragrance has no correlation to either of those fragrances in any shape or form or I should say scent or smell. But I am going to use Oman and Musk Aoud here to help people to understand this fragrance better. So As you all know Roja Dove fragrances they are not linear what so ever and they have a complex and evolving life cycle. So let's begin. The Exclusive Black Tier starts of very pungent suede/animalic/musky/plasticky note mixed with a good dose of oud in there and I think it is the oud that makes the suede and the musk even more dirty and give it a medicinal/plastic type of a vibe to the fragrance in a very beautiful way. few minutes later the raspberry, vanilla, saffron and patchouli work hard to work their way in and break through that pungent initial smell that I described. Now the musk in here reminds me on Musk Aoud and the raspberry reminds on Oman's raspberry but way more mild than Oman's raspberry, you can't barely smell it. Now this goes on for at least 45 minutes to an hour, as the top leather animalic pungent vibe about this fragrance starts becoming softer and settles down, almost like a fire going out. At this point fragrance starts to shine, it becomes very creamy, warm, sensual and powdery. The Vanilla, Patchouli, Saffron and Raspberry become the main players of the show now but with hint soft initial notes but they are going in the background now. In the second hour of the show this fragrance turns into this woody a bit smoky balsamic sweet scent mixed with sweet suede and raspberry and that is how the show and the party ends, which is perfect. The dry down is like Oman but way more sweeter and more creamy than Oman and less raspberry as well. This is a very complex fragrance but beautifully executed like Roja always does. I am sorry about the long review but this fragrance deserves it.

Amazing offering from the House of Roja. This broods a dark, confident, and sensual silhouette. One meant to be dressed up and never down. Opening has a slight petrol quality to it most likely due to the oud he uses here but in no way it is an animalic one, it’s actually quite addictive when the raspberry and suede come forth smoothing it out. In the mid a subtle sweet rose along with the powderyness of the orris and violet play along to make this jammy accord smelling luxurious per Roja style. But throughout the whole wearing of this opulent fragrance, the raspberry is here with you always in the center stage drying down to a soft resinous base. This doesn’t have crazy silage but the longevity is great up to 8 hours you’ll still notice it.

When something is this expensive, you expect it to be special in some way. This has truly changed the way I look at my collection. Why will I continue to spend on other scents when there are so few that can even compare to something like this? This is beyond a scent, it’s a full blown addiction. Few scents have ever made me come back day after day like this one. And truth be told, those few scents are also Roja’s. I think it is time for me to go through my collection and realize that I do not need all of those bottles since I will never wear them as much as I wear this.

10/10 masterpiece Suitable for tuxedo wearing tycoons stepping out of Rolls Royces attending the Cannes Film Festival! This is my favourite scent DNA however this one is just out of my league unfortunately. It's extremely regal. Dark and charming. Tested it in Harrods, and compared to others I tested from Roja (Ti Amo & Diaghilev) it was the least powerful. If you're in your early 30s like me, then it's only really suitable for weddings and high profile events.

Dank, authentic, resinous oud. Opening is stunning. Then vanilla gives way to a jammy rose-powder which dominates the rigmarole of nuances. Fresh raspberry in the undertone. Leathery suede overtone. Good natural stuff. Very balanced, smooth and harmonic. Oudy goodness. I do wish the powder didn't come on so strong, but thay doesn't take much away from this princely concoction.

This fragrance has it all man... It is smoky, oudy, woody, sweet, dry, very warm. This offering is not similar to any other of Roja’s. Mysterious would describe this fragrance in a perfect manner. The quality is outstanding aswell, making it feel very natural and rounded. I get great performance from this 👌 thank you.

At first I thought I smelled Black Afgano, but after several tries I don't find them similar. I don't really get any rose, or saffron. To my nose this is mainly an oud-patchouli fragrance. Not what I was expecting but it grows on you. After two moths I can say it is to me, one of the more refined ouds.

Ok that's interesting.. at first all you get is strong oud. The oud is real and not annoying much. But you get a hard time detecting the other notes. It is basically an elegant oudy fragrance. For special occasions when you want to stand out. Drydown is better, classy and all.. you know like most of roja frags. I wouldn't buy a full bottle but I can see many appreciating this gem.

Yea no tuscan leather 😪 i have once again fallen for stupid recommendation's... H black tier ok.. i was expecting something with more character and body, i feel like this scent tom ford could take it and improve it and it would be a decent 9-10/10 fragrance give it the tom fords sexyness yk 😂 Anyway initial spray = the moon by frederic malle :/ nothing new nothing wow either... hugeee dose of resins mr roja didnt hesitate adding that opoponax and myrrh huh? 😒 that same resinous/balsamic/dark combination you could find in an orto parisi fragrance not a fan I can agree it smell’s better on paper than it does on actual skin, kinda like the same problem amber aoud and others from the brand and no its not me or my ph many comments on roja’s fragrances say the same (i can prove it), raspberry almost inexistent which is a shame as neither the moon nor this h black tier got a prominent raspberry note in them couldnt mr roja just ask if he could borrow the raspberry note ford used in tuscan leather?? It would make this wayyy better i can asure you that, anyway... florals give it a powdery very prominent smell as review below me suggests and until 4-5 hr dry down you can smell the last part which ok has a 35% similar tuscan leather dry down suede/pepper/labdanum dry down? No, its not animalic, barely smell oud in this ? And could question even if real oud is used in this... you smell better kind of oud in nomade or oud maracuja even tho they got oud ‘accords’ 😂 Opening = 5/10 not a fan (basically FM the moon) Dry down = 6.5-7/10 better dry down but nothing crazy or new in the market Longevity ain't beast mode, pretty average even kind of below average you smell a skin scent just after 3-4 hr 😐 with low sillage i like my fragrances to be a bomb in longevity and scent trail so that lowers my rating also Nothing to wear on a ‘suit’ stop with the marketing clasifications this can be worn if you wanna sleep or just a caual night walk 🙄 dont mind spraying 700 dls fragrances for those occasions that’s what fragrances are supposed to be for (worn)

A very deep and natural smelling Oud, and Oud that is distinctive to Roja's fragrance, I've certainly not smelled one like it. A fair size dose of musk in there too. Personally it reminds me a lot of Roja's Musk Aoud.

It doesn ́t smell pleasant. Smells something odd.

Wow - this is something rather special. It's up there with my favourite Roja, Fetish, which intoxicates with its pungency and treads a fine line between class and filth. But whilst Fetish is big, bold and in your face, Black Tier seduces with rich, dark opulence. They do share a similarity, a duality that lasts throughout the life cycle of Fetish, but waxes and wanes with Black Tier, opening as it does with a blast of freshly cleaned stable replete with horse and saddle. Yes it's barnyard - but laced with juicy citrus it's beautiful rather than repulsive, to my nose at least. What follows is a symphony of notes that dance across a spot lit stage, some stepping forward from the chorus to briefly bask in the limelight before rejoining what is a glorious medley of fruits, understated florals and a slightly medicinal oud. It remains throughout decidedly masculine, even when drying down to a far safer shadow of itself. In a word its heaven, and is everything i had hoped Diaghilev would be but isn't. Diaghilev, purchased from an authorised dealer, lacks bite or even the merest hint of danger. It is an intensely beautiful floral and fruit concoction that evokes past luxury - but to my nose at least lacks individuality, thanks to an absence of sourness or skank. This makes it a little feminine leaning and I tend to spray a little orange, lime and oakmoss before applying diaghilev - all of which are reported ingredients but which fail to appear, at least for me. So, Black Tier - only for those looking for a true statement in perfumery, and not for the weak. 10/10 Oh - it bears zero resemblance to Black Afgano.

This is a high quality amber-oud fragrance, very natural, but not for the faint of heart. I can see this fragrance being polarizing. The formula is actually a simple one, with some interesting twists. The base is a classic amber. Very natural, done in the form of a classic amber. 1st twist: 2 types of oud, both the medicinal and barnyard variety. The oud is authentic, I've sampled authentic oud essential oil so as to have a point of reference. I would encourage any fragrance enthusiast to do the same. Many "oud" based fragrances have very little real oud. The 2nd twist: raspberry note. To me this comes across more fruity accord rather then straight raspberry note. And there you have it: amber, medicinal and barnyard oud, and fruity notes. This is a heavy fragrance and best worn in cooler weather. Projection is moderate and longevity is excellent. This is a special one. There is a dated quality to it, but in a good way, like a classic car. This is not a daily driver, but to be enjoyed occasionally, when the mood strikes you. To be worn not for others, but for oneself. The price is high, but I think the 30mls or 7.5mls travel atomizer would fit the bill perfectly.

To me, it’s as if they took the saffron/oud combo of Tuscan leather and instead of it being the star of the show it simply wraps around the heart of the show which i think is a big bright yellow ylang ylang. The raspberry note is more velvety than Tuscan leather and I believe that to be an aspect of rose. That being said the overall smell is probably not something I could find a reason to wear out but for lovers of beautiful concoctions, this will have your mind racing. I like to imagine an evocative she genie masked with marvelous cloths, using her jeweled hands rather than words, to waft around a seductive yellow spell that lures me, nose first towards wherever she commands. One must remember she is at your command though and not the other way around. Spell bound for too long and the saffron/oud poison will bite you

Suede is easily my least favorite note in any perfume, because it can smell jarringly synthetic. And here in Black Tier, with suede being present from start to finish, it's startlingly beautiful I wonder what a difference in the quality of the ingredients it must have. There's not a single moment where I felt like I was smelling chemical, the whole thing was smooth, bright, opulent and natural. The first 15 minutes is probably my favorite phase where the whole composition is present and has the most impact. It's rich, sweet, sensual and animalic in the best way. As it dries down, what remains the longest on me is the bright suede and raspberry. This combination might remind you of Tuscan Leather but rest assured this is much much better blended without any synthetic vibe. A great buy!

Laudano Nero could have been the inspiration for this one although there are key differences. The raspberry and musk really make this superior to LN. It’s warm, rich, and woody. However, the touch of raspberry and powder manage to keep it inviting and not too dark. The raspberry note’s prominence in this fragrance is similar to the raspberry in Tuscan Leather. It’s there but not dominant. 8/10 - a total comfort scent for me on the cold winter days w great performance.

Another stellar oud variation from Roja. Different than all his others ,this is a refined oud with the fruity musky tinge just below the surface. Great stuff

FM’s the moon but more dusty, Less sweet, and more leathery, slight Tuscan leather type.
