Harrods Parfum Pour Femme

Harrods Pour Femme is one of my favourite powdery fragrances of all time. It initially opens with an incredible medley of powdery florals including rose, magnolia, ylang, tuberose, orange blossom, neroli and above all, violet. The violet in here is some of the best I’ve ever smelled. From here the main note of the fragrance, palma rosa, makes its entry - this is a very unique note that is very reminiscent of traditional rose, but with subtle green and vegetal nuances. Bergamot lingers softly in the background to add a citric sharpness, offsetting the florals slightly. All of this rests on a ghostly Amber accord, alongside gentle woods, sweet vanilla and cherry. This fragrance smells exactly like the Haute Parfumerie in Harrods and if you’ve ever been there, this scent will instantly transport you as though you’re standing there in person.

It was over three months ago when HPPF arrived and duly opened on the spot! After aerating with the lid off and allowing the succulent nectars to imbibe with rare woods, glorious tendrils, and ancient grass, Harrods Pour Femme really comes together with pretty much everything a classic parfum should. Opening is a soapy, warm grassy haze, that leads into rich fruit nectars, almost ripe on the vine, and not overly sweet. No raisins and dates or confectionary peaches. Crisp, crated, pitted fruit grazing the light in the back of a Chevy and beginning to shade from chartreuse to yellow before orange. Wearable to any outdoor event, and suitable for Spring - late Autumn. Lasts a good week on clothes and beautifully blends with skin for the day.

Green and powdery. There is something in here that I find a little off putting and I don't find this to be a balanced composition. Not a safe blind buy and smells nothing like Roja's other powdery scents like 51 or Enigma. 7/10

Why am I getting baby lotion vibes from this? I bought a travel size. Can someone confirm or deny that they get similarities?

This is a very beautiful, unique, and complex scent. It is powdery and slightly sweet. Cherry is pronounced, but it is a sour cherry. Palmarosa gives this perfume a touch of greenness. Oud is almost not detectable but I am sure that along with leather it gives this perfume depth. This is the fragrance that reveals different facets on different days: sometimes rose takes center stage making this perfume gentle and delicate, sometimes greenness and sourness capture your attention and sometimes it is a powdery, vanilla cloud that you notice most of all. But altogether it is an elegant and alluring perfume. Longevity is great.
