Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

My third try in this line by Roja Parfums, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia seems to have elements of both Kuwait and UAE. It's sweet with very heavy use sweet fruit elements (raspberry, strawberry, plum, blackcurrant) but it still has a rose/oud mix that is reasonably heavy. It dries down to a base of sandalwood, vanilla, musk, and a few other elements that are well-blended. As with other fragrances in this collection, the note list is intimidatingly long, but it's superbly blended, undoubtedly expected for Roja's pricing ($555 for 50ml, in this case). I get far more of a tart berry element in the sweetness (strawberry, raspberry) than the bright sweetness of the blackcurrant or quasi-booziness of the plum or apple. It's far brighter at the onset due to a citrus/floral bouquet of opening notes, followed by the fruity blend shortly thereafter (within a half hour of application). The dry down is still sharp but is a pleasant blend of the sweet, woody, and animalic elements. The rose and other florals are still there, as well, but it's far more about the vanilla, sandalwood, leather, musk, and some lingering combination of fruit at this point (several hours in). The comparisons to Aventus seem downright odd to me but to each their own--I speculate that the blackcurrant commonality is the main cause. This is a great fragrance--I prefer it to UAE but Kuwait may still edge it out. Roja does it again. I need to try Qatar and Bahrain still. 8 out of 10

Wow! I can not even express the beautiful aura this fragrance encompasses. It seriously has the strongest personality and quality out of any niche perfume I've tried, so it is up there. For example, I can smell the dry down like scent of it from the bottle that is 6 feet away from me (Which never happens with my perfumes). I sometimes wake up and smell it just from the bottle that is on my vanity. Like a review below said, the notes are blended together so well it is hard to tell where the beauty stems from. A must have scent, that is a good ode to Saudi. It is perfectly unisex, not leaning on either feminine or masculine though the Oud gives a head strong vibe, as if it is someone in power wearing it. It would be perfect for evening or even day time scents. I can see some A listers wearing this- or perhaps someone in royalty. It is very luxurious and keeps on giving.

Gorgeous. Summer cocktail of fruits with berries and the most dominant undertone for me is leather. I do enjoy it a lot. I like it even slightly more than the Kuwait! This perfume is sweeter, more feminine, definitely more leathery and is more unique to me. The Kuwait version is on the opposite, semi-sweet to me. I love how roja combines fruits and florals into ouds in their perfumes, they are masters at that. The composition as always is well-balanced, and leather adds such an interesting touch to it. It's not an almondy leather like the one in Tom Ford's Fabulous, but is instead a sexier, sweeter leather with fruits touches and floral additions. The fruits even remind me of rose, but only slightly.

unfortunately this fragrance has been discontinued. this is absolutely my top 3 roja of all time. the fragrance starts off with stinky aoud and fruits, and it only gets sweeter and woodier as time goes on. it dries down into this beautiful creamy, leathery vanilla scent that is very appealing to my nose. projection and longevity are both great. i really hope roja brings this one back because this is easily one of his best despite all the hate the gulf collection got when it came out. 10/10. back up bottles worthy, would buy again.

My favorite Roja. I get a leather and banana/vanilla on my skin. It evolves like a symphony with a non synthetic leather as the conductor. I don't find it overly sweet as the sharp leather keeps it line. It's safe for virtually any occasion because it's a soft scent that is sexy yet relaxing. I only have a sample that was relatively small so I can't comment on its longevity but would love to own this masterpiece one day!

Great scent very elegant, tried it at the store recently would say a very unique and optimistic scent, love the fruity but heavy scent to it. but i really do not agree with the price, it is extremely good though and I would say the scent reflects it, but it is very expensive. Hopefully when I am a bit richer i could afford it because this is so good

Such a high class aroma. Definitely top ingredients were used. Everything blends in so beautifully making this classy. Performance is perfectly moderate, discovered not announced. If the high price is an issue, Al Hejaz from Zoha Aroma is an excellent inspired version.

This is a masterpiece My favorite fragrance of all time 10/10 The 100ml beauty was released recently and only 150 bottles If anyone wants to buy one and have someone in gulf country i will ship to u but asap as only 2 bottles left

As I was handing the women the $500 for this fragrance she told me I smelled like money. It’s well blended. There’s 50 notes but nothing exactly stands out. For the price a rep of the perfumer it should last longer then 4 hours

Wowza! Nice,skanky oud wrapped in rich red berries. This is grail to my nose. Pure, heavenly bliss. Lasts, projects, and kicks butt. Finally got a full bottle and I'm going to cherish it! That raspberry though!

Where to even begin. This perfume is a sultry, fruity oudy masterpiece. Plain and simple. Absolutely incredible.

This is a very pleasing unisex tutti fruity type of fragrance, lots of fruity candy notes.

One of my all-time favorites. Wish I could find it!

Edit for updated review (19 July 2019): Decided to revisit this one . . .I don't know what happened to my nose when I first reviewed it but this time I am pleasantly surprised to find this is a more mellow scent, more tamed and almost domesticated. It is lighter, sweeter and more well blended. No dirtiness, it has taken a proper bath and has come away smelling fantastic, almost as if it has morphed into another fragrance entirely. A semi-sweet woody oud. FBW fit for a king or queen! (Review March 2019): I don't get the tutti, nor the fruity. What I do get at the opening is the thought that I may have to scrub this. There is a slight undercurrent of stench to it like smelling desert dirt and camel dung on the breeze that wafts thru a forest of wood that seeps resin from within ( speaking from experience about the desert dirt and camel dung, having lived in Kuwait (UAE) for a little while). Thank goodness that calms way down, but it is still there, only muted, more tame. About 15 minutes after applying it is a sweeter, oily-oudy wood note wrapped in leather. This I can come to like, the sueded part of the leather, not the outer smooth shell. It baffles me which note(s)is/are responsible for making this a palatable drydown, but I am grateful nonetheless. A likeable, gender-neutral perfume, wearing close to the skin after about 10-30 minutes after initial application.

This is a really nice & modern "fresh" green woody oud (with slight spicy & fruity facets) akin to Ormonde Jayne Nawab of Oudh, Rasasi Oudh Al Boruzz Asrar Indonesia, etc. (I'd add The Spirit of Dubai Meydan but that's more leathery) It's my 3rd favorite from this collection :)

It is good perfume but the middle and base notes have very close similarity to Creed Erolfa

I owed this for about a year now. It’s a extremely complex perfume. To me it’s almost impossible to actually discern many of the notes. They blend and transform together into a beautiful ever changing fragrance. The first few minutes you get this dry and I mean dry sand smell. It literally smells like desert sand, mixed with a floral sweetness and animalic elements. and a light oud It’s definitely hard to pick out any notes. The dry down is one of if not the best I have ever experienced. Dry tart berry, banana, dates, but not fresh at all. Along with a spiced floral note,animalic elements. and oud incense ,and woodsy amber resin . It’s absolutely beautiful.

YES... This is as good as people say it is. The hype is very real! The citrus in this frag gives its an amazing springy-ness and effervescence that I havent smelt in such a heavy composition of a fruity/floral aoud. It is extremely unique smelling. The fruityness is quite "sharp" so its definitely not for everyone but it remains natural smelling - attesting to it's quality. I also wouldnt call this smelling "high class" as many other people have said. Its an awesome release but its far from that lol Performance is great too for the first couple of hours. Longevity - not bad. Overall: above average perf. Unfortunate that it was discontinued

Where do I begin? This fragrance gives you the best of both worlds. Fruity, oudy both at the same time. You get whiffs one second of slightly stanky oud, but the next moment the next whiff gives you a hyper realistic blend of fruits. It’s like living two realities at once. Really cool fragrance. Opening starts off a little strong and “stanky”, but dries down beautifully. Very well blended and high quality. However, performance can be improved. This lasts about half a work day with low projection. Mine is the Saudi Exclusive by the way.

There are ALOT of Aventus clones out there. This one opens up with a fresh and citrusy oud. It quickly dries down to an EXACT clone of Aventus. Not the weak airy Aventus of today, but the rich, dense, birch and pineapple of the very 1st release of Aventus. This doesnt project that much, and doesnt last that long on clothes or skin. I wish the oud lasted longer because the fresh/ dirty oud combo was intriguing. This is a very tough sale at $555 with less than stellar performance.

Fruity Stanky Oud. Starts with the stink and then moves into a sweet fruity leather, a genuinely breathtaking transformation. It's tough to recommend because it's not immediately palatable and the performance is just okay, but I figure the people who are paying the high price tag will already know what they're getting themselves into. 9/10

Never actually smelled this, but funnily enough majority of people in KSA actually tend to like there perfumes to be fruity-floral-sweet, apart from their usual obsession with traditional Oriental perfumery, so I imagine a lot of them might actually like this a lot.

Hmmmm strange one. I can really pick up the banana and the raspberry along with some marshmallow candy floss.... all that mixed together smells very sickly Not my favourite Roja release however need to see what it dries down to

Fruity patchouli opening and the dry down is very similar to the most fruity batch of Creed Aventus but the performance seem to be weaker. Nice scent but I prefer Aventus over this one considering the price.

Has anyone tried Saudi Arabia and the dupe from DUA Formula 010? are they really alike or are they different? I never had the fortune to try Saudi Arabia by of Roja. Thanks in advance.

A nice fruity oud fragrance with a vanilla base that is too similar to Candy Aoud also offered by Roja. If you have Candy Aoud, skip this one. This smells NOTHING like Aventus.
