I have been thinking lately in which scent Lilac is performing in the most blooming and natural way. The answer is PIERRE DE VELAY LES CLOCHETTES DU BONHEUR BY Roja Dove - the perfect scent for springtime. It opens up with fresh glorious Lilac which immediately takes me to the nostalgic journey to my childhood when we had a garden full of Lilac bushes. Opulent Lily-of-the-Valley intertwines with Lilac bringing light green and soapy touch to the scent. There is not that much sweetness despite of Amaryllis and Ylang-Ylang nor the overly rich texture or sourness which the latter one often offers so the fragrance maintains its mild, bright and fresh character and Lily-of-the-Valley is the star of the show accompanied innocently and beautifully by Lilac. The brand nominates Jasmine as a main note and it may be that Lilac plays such a big role for me in this because of the memories. There are Jasmine like aromas In Lilac and LiLy so the combination of those flowers unfolds seamlessly creating the harmonious cloud. The base is only supporting the concoction without being creamy nor dominant but it turns somewhat intoxicating opening into very indulgent, classy and soft composition. Les Clochettes du Bonheur is utterly charming and subtle, delicate floral for all Lilac and Lily-of-the-Valley lovers who respect the natural luxurious olfactive experience. Les Clochettes du Bonheur is the cream of the crop when it comes to lily-of-the-valley perfumes. It opens straight away with an overdose of naturally beautiful lily-of-the-valley, in all its green and soapy glory. Ylang and jasmine provide back up to intensify the sweet floral goodness while a powdery note of lilac sets into the background. There’s a certain freshness likely from the bergamot, resting on a soft base of creamy sandalwood. But it must be noted all these supporting notes only rest in the background, as lily-of-the-valley is the star of the show - some might say it’s the only discernible note in here. This is easily the highest quality lily-of-the-valley fragrance I’ve ever smelled and really wowed me when I first tried it on skin. Despite seeming to be a relatively simple perfume, it demonstrates just how much depth and character such an overlooked note can have. This won’t be for everyone and I don’t think it’s a fragrance I would buy but I appreciate it for what it is and think it demonstrates incredible perfumery.

Hands down the best lilac + lily of the valley scent I have ever come across. For me lilac is very nostalgic as they bloom around when I used to go on summer holiday as a kid. (Together with bird cherry). All fragrances I’ve tried so far have fallen short in terms of replicating this amazing aroma. But this does not disappoint! If you love lilac and or Lily of the valley this is a very very good perfume. It will set you back a kidney and a half but the quality will not disappoint.

Jasmine + lily of the valley + lilac are the most prominent notes i get out of this. Smells like a luxury powdery soap. Overall a good pleasant floral smell.

I bought a sample set of the PdV fragrances and chose this one mostly to compare it with Guerlain Muguet 2013 and Dorin Cloches de Mai that I have. I don't know what I expected from another lilly of the valley fragrance but I was fascinated by the beautiful, fresh, sping in a bottle perfume. One of my best friends wore Diorissimo as her signature perfume in the eighties and if my memory serves me well this is absolutely the closest to it that I have smelt.

Yes, the best lilac & a great fresh combo with the lily-of-the-valley. Natural springtime. I think it’s a daytime fragrance, but I wore it one evening and got received great compliments all night, with one person getting in close multiple times with the specific intent to smell the fragrance and comment to me. .
