NüWa 2015 Edition

very realistic scent for comparison I took a rose flower from the garden and it had exactly the same smell as the perfume the scent is more suitable for a woman but with a bias towards unisex as a scent I will rate it at 10 the performance is at the level of many perfumes in the category 8 out of 10 I have a new batch 24

Before you think I'm crazy, smell your santal majuscule first then smell this. You will notice some similarities in the opening. Both masterpieces. Differencies are significantly vast. Similarities are subtle but palpable. Just a little observation.

not crazy about this, felt like a generic woody rose offering little beyond those two accords from one of these luxury niche houses; something that roja himself surely has done before (hints of amber aoud/aoud, lakme, etc.) i found this to be very linear compared to his other work. i did sample this reformulated version and from the looks of it, this and the original 2014 version are completely different perfumes, perhaps i'll like the later better.

To me, there’s something synthetic and plastic-like in this fragrance that ruins the whole experience. It is such a beautiful sum of notes only to be destroyed by something unpleasant and unnatural in the background! Why??? Ugh!!!!!!!!! If you want a spicy and complex rose, Le Labo Rose 31 is it. And if you want a rose that is in between fresh/green and spicy, I recommend Rose Ikebana by Hermessence.

I bought this thinking it’d be a more refined version of House of Sillage Chevaux d’Or. And while they are somewhat alike, Nüwa has an annoying note in it that I cannot shake off. This is such a beautiful and very expensive (like all Roja blends are) fragrance. However something bothers me to no end and I cannot figure out what it is. I’ll come back later if I find out what’s up...

NüWa 2015 Edition Roja Dove (USD 390, BN Tester, No Box) I shock a bit after I receive my bottle of Nuwa. It doesn’t have the gold ROJA on the side. But when I look up online, I see both version on internet. Second point, I found the juice is also coming in very pale color. I means it can’t indicate anything but can’t help it might be less amber companion. Or maybe it is rose centric. No idea... However, I trust the juice is authentic. I sniff his other creation before and yes. It is still opulent as usual. Nüwa, the spicy rose scent. I don’t find this very femme but more on unisex scale. The upperclass rose. It blast with citrus too and powdery accord start to from, similar to majority spicy powdery perfume. when spicy in base and citrus up top it make powdery feel. Powdery feel in this, both spicy and woody. It is no iris, ambery chypre. Sort of. Rose in this petty much reminds me of Nombre Noir, the higher quality rose. I think he blends various of rose both absolute and may rose. Even juice is pale, it sure do have quite a projection. The 2015 version, is easy to use. Not overy ambery. Very enjoyable from risky blind buy. But I think Nuwa is for die hard Roja fan. It is not unique enough but the blends is smooth. I think I will end my Roja quest here. I have enough from his fragrance.

I consider the new version of Nuwa to be a rose fragrance. It consists mainly of May Rose which is very similar to the one in Aoud but while Aoud is a little bit thicker, the rose here is more airy and watery. In the drydown, I detect hints of sandalwood, a faint spicy note and some vanillic sweetness from the vanilla/benzoin combination.
