Parfum De La Nuit No 2 Roja Dove (USD 340, special offer from close friend, thank you) Review on February 10, 2024 I have chance to wear this today, I was in the mood for something a bit more masculine leaning, it is the 3rd day of Luna near, I was wearing Orange Shirt, Chinese collar. So I want something a bit enigmatic. I trend to reserve Roja for special occasions. To me, this amber fragrance (french labdanum to be specific). I quite enjoy. It doesn’t really dark or dense to use in the day time. Most experience I got is Animalic and not so Powdery with Cuba Libre experience. It is very enjoyable. I don’t get to much of coconut (thanks god) which come more like the creaminess feel to amber instead. It is sort of citrus / cola with Rum experience. On Rooty Ambery Powdery with enhancement of Animalic. It is not really playful fragrance. But it is have certain level of fun to be appreciates. I would love to wear it more often if it is not cost usd 4 per use.. I think I will venture to this area a bit more. Pick up so variances from the other brands. But this one really enjoyable as boozy fragrance. Score 9/10 Projection: Moderate Low Longevity: 7-8 hours Classfication: slightly more masculine, but confident woman could wear with her nightgown. Summary: Adult flirting with unknown in the 5-star hotel lounge. ===== Actually, I feel so blissful that I have a chance to sniff few Roja creations before hands. 51 parfum, Enigma Aoud, Enigma, Aoud, Amber Aoud, Elysium, Elysium Intense, Taif Aoud, Nuwa. De La Nuit 3, De La Nuit 2 which, let's say. very hard to have a chance to sniff those creation in my poor country. "I kinda crystallize all the controversial around him and his brand. From my POV, I think his all creation is very excellent however vintage. His fragrance design either very influential either Amber or Powder way. His amber style reminds me alot of Shalimar Pure Parfum from 1940. To constant his creation, he load all the natural ingredients possible. But it costly. To archive the blends he wish, he either should to cut something or Increase Abusive price. which he won't cut, he want excellence. However, will all the hyper luxury material and design. This will make an impact to higher range of people. While he offers some discount, he could also offer his creation. To the fragrance lover as well, because his fragrance load of quality So his legacy can leave on" I do not sure is this statement is very true or not. But this is kinda idea I get after sniff his creation. Regards De La Nuit 2, as usual his seamless blends is out of this world. 10/10

Before a full depth reviews: 🤎 PARFUM de la NUIT 1 Very sensual and seductive, not the easiest one of these three. There are light leathery tones and an animalic touch in this -very sophisticated though- with soft Vanilla. This is definitely my favorite and it performs best on my skin of these three. Absolutely stunning and sexy, a tad naughty, resinous scent. 🤎 PARFUM de la NUIT 2 Three notes - Rum, Cocoa and Vanilla - together with balsamic notes creates a pleasant a little bit sweet, not exactly but Coca Cola kind of scent which is chic. This is the most versatile of these three because of the missing animalic nuance (in 1) and leather (in 3) and this is the most unisex one. You have to like boozy note tho. Anyway on my skin something bothers me. 🤎 PARFUM de la NUIT 3 Rose, Labdanum, Leather and earthy Saffron create the soul for this blend. This is not at all a rosy scent though, it’s only a supportive note. This is the driest one of these with woody, balsamic warmth of Amyris. Not at all sweet. This is the best on men imo. I'll first offer that Roja Parfums Parfum de la Nuit No. 2 is preferable to No. 1. No. 2 is still sharp, with some sweet accents and woody undertones, but its sweetness is more thorough and developed from the onset to balance the sharpness. I again attribute the sharpness to the cistus and cypriol, two notes that I'm not familiar with, but in the absence of iris or some other florals, I'm left to assume they account for the sharp, powdery edge. These elements are paired with an assortment of sweet, creamy, and boozy notes--vanilla, cocoa, tonka, benzoin, tolu balsam, and rum--as well a slight citrus opening, not strong to me, and resting on the same woody, earthy bed of vetiver, guaiac, and patchouli. It dries down even sweeter, with some of the top-heavy sharpness still lingering but ultimately a background component to the resinous, sweet, woody result. Performance is excellent, strong projection with extreme longevity, fitting for the cost and brand. Of course the retail price is still near-unfathomable at $1,400 for 100ml but I'm encouraged by liking this a bit more than No. 1, at least, and look forward to trying No 3. 8 out of 10

This is my favorite of 1, 2, and 3 because I looooove orange in perfumes, and it's hard to find. This starts out smelling like candied orange peel and reminds me of the ones I get from a local confectionery, dipped in chocolate. Definitely an amalgamation of rum, orange, sticky chewy tonka bean. It's a little bit animalic but not over-the-top, like in 1. In the heart I really notice the creamy guaiac wood. Like I could pinpoint it, and I didn't even realize it was in this fragrance until I saw the pyramid just now. Smells like it's mixed with another smoky wood. Patchouli in the base lends a little spice. This is a dark, deep and mystical fragrance. Edit: I am seeing reviews mentioning coconut, and I don't get why. There’s no mention of coconut in the pyramid, and I don't smell any coconut. I hate coconut in perfumes, so if you are like me, don't worry. There's no coconut here.

Very addictive. Reminds me of the 15p long chewy sweets you get in the UK, like Refreshers/Vimto/Urn Bru long chewy candy strips. But with a deep complex background like oud/middle Eastern scents. so you only need one or two sprays max. To my nose it's very feminine. I believe it is worth the price of a designer handbag.

One of the best crafted fragrances of all time. Strong but subtle. The boozy note dries down to an addictive skin scent that radiates into the air. Big compliment giver. Disappointed that it’s discontinued, I hope Roja brings this back to its line as it’s a classic that has been around for so long.

This is a Gem! That BubbleGum Vibe from the start Give me Goosebumps! Is it worth the Price tags for me yes! Its unique and Quality. If you can find it pull the trigger. ill give this one a 10/10 With Roja la nuit 3.

This is liquid gold, perfect balance between darkness and sweetnes, civet and rum combo is out of this world, even the added chocolate vibe. The best scent a man could acquire for a seductive vibe, such as a date.

Starts off smelling chewing gum but then it develops into something much better eventhough it stays quite gourmand with a hint of some animalic note. Beutiful. Scent: 9/10 Projection: 9/10 Longevity: 9/10

"Rum and Coke, or the Cuba libre, is a highball cocktail consisting of cola, rum, and in many recipes lime or lemon juice on ice." This is the best description of PDLN 2 one can find. Nothing more to add.

bought a new 2024 bottling in comparison with the old bottling the new one starts more citrusy feels like a young wine but after about an hour you can't tell them apart it needs time to infuse

Its a pity that it was discontinued, dear brand owner, add this perfume to the gold collection so that connoisseurs have the opportunity to buy this perfume.

Heartbroken it’s discontinued 😭 One of my favourite fragrances ever. A boozy fragrance with a touch of naughty. Perfect.

This is one of those fragrances that would be a great addition if it were half the price - like a Xerjoff, for example. However, Roja operates a business model much like Mark Levinsion, the super expensive stereo manufacturer, based on making a few moderately priced offerings to entice people into outrageously priced ones, much higher than most of their peers offering similar quality. I am reminded of Don DeLillo's novel Cosmopolis where a 10 M USD home is said to have the one defining characteristic that it cost 10 M USD. And so it goes...Roja releases a fragrance that costs 1 K GBP per bottle and people want it just because it cost 1 K GBP. These are not connoisseurs, they would be buying the infinite variety at a reasonable cost of brands like Xerfoff. They are the rich, the nouveau riche, the Oligarchs, who recently came into money and want to show off. That being said, PDLN 2 is a rum and coconut boozy gourmand that dries down into a kind of kinky burnt hair vibe with benzoin and vanilla. It smells kind of like rum and coke with a twist of lime at first, but then goes darker and more ashy and animallic as it dries down. It is kind of like Enigma, but more animallic and risqué. I really like it and would buy a full bottle if it were half the price. As it is I have a 7.5 mL that I bought almost for nothing from Roja's perfume credits. I have an issue with the performance. It seemed a bit weak off my hand so I compared it side by side with Manhattan EDP, which many say is light. I was surprised to find that PDLN 2 vanished after about 4 h on my back hand, while Manhattan EDP lasted about 18 hours - it was still very strong the next day. The unfortunate thing about the latter is that the projection is not great. Smell Manhattan EDP on your wrist 18 h later from a few cm and it is STRONG. But not from a meter, from which you can barely smell it. I would say projection of PDLN 2 is better than Manhattan EDP, but longevity is much less. This is really a night scent, a shooting star that will last you through a date in brilliant fashion (as it is exotic and unusual and seductive) but is not made for a day at work. In that regard it is a winner in that it does what it set out to do. My only issue is the price. But if it weren't priced so high all those people collecting Frank Mueller watches just for the sake of it wouldn't buy it. Edit - I lucked out and got a brand new unopened bottle on eBay complete with the amazing presentation, all for 55% off...now it's worth it! The full bottle also performs better than my 7.5 mL sprayer...perhaps some batch variation? Whatever the case I am pleased.

I immediately thought of Star Wars when trying the trio of PDLN. Hear me out. PDLN #1: is unmitigated rawness which is like the Sith. Unrefined and powerful. PDLN #2: is similar to a Dark Lord, especially a Sith Dark Lord, as they are in touch with a primitive baseness, yet thorough training in the dark side of the force, they have refined themselves to the point of substantial elevation above most beings PDLN #3: is somewhat reminiscent of a Jedi named Revan. He was once a Jedi turned Dark Lord, yet was able to become a Jedi once again. Revan had balance in the light and the dark that few Jedi could ever understand. Considering that anecdote, PDLN #2 is nice, but it does not hold a torch to PDLN #3. Opening: It starts off with a citric blast that is very short-lived. This portion lasts for approximately 30 mins before the heart comes out. I would like to note that this opening comes off as pretty harsh at the start, and it has a weird juxtaposition to the remainder of this fragrance. Heart: This is where the fragrance really gets its Dark Lord feels. The rum portion of this fragrance feels like you just took a bath in a bottle of dark rum. It is powerful. This portion of the scent is also a little sharp, but it does not sit in a weird contrast like the opening did. This is where the fragrance gets its "heavy" feel from, as you can tell the scent has weight to it from the beginning, but you don't truly understand it until you reach this portion. The middle lasts for 2/3 hours before the rum subsists and the base kicks in. Base: Once we reach this stage of the fragrance after about 3/3.5 hours, it has a very refined yet heavy feel to it. The longevity here is really nice (6-8hrs, possibly more as I washed it off before I could tell the full extent). The base is definitely the most refined portion of the fragrance, much like a Dark Lord would be after training in the ways of "the force. I get the Tonka, Balsam, Labdanum, and Patchouli. The animalic portions of this fragrance I can't detect too much of. This would be appropriate for a date night in the colder months, as the cost (over $1700 CAD/100 ml at retail) makes this something to use very sparingly if one can afford to. Projection and sillage are above average, with very nice longevity. Overall it is a nice scent, but it is wayyyyyyyyyyy too much money for something like this. 7.5/10 (The beginning has a very strange juxtaposition, the middle is too much rum, but the base is well blended)

🟣 ᴘᴅʟɴ 2, "The Seducer" Starts with pungent citrusy accords combined with cistus. The opening smells very deep, spicy and balsamic but also slightly fresher, sparkling and semi boozy because there is rum note. A hints of cola/root beer vibe like in opening of ROJA Enigma but in way more thick, concentrated and richer form. As progressing it goes a bit darker, leathery and woodier. The sweet composition coming from benzoin, cocoa and vanilla are lurking in the background at first to add more richness and then slowly getting more pronounce to the end giving a comforting feel. The progression of all the beautiful notes are going in a fast pace revealing a long lasting base experience.

شروع بسیار شلخته و الکلی که انگار نُت ها برعکس بازی می‌کنن فضای سنگین و آشفته‌ی چرمی که خوشم نیمد و یکم تو ذوق‌ام خورد اما با صبوری،زیبایی هاش پیدا میشه کم کم وجه بوزی عطر پیداش میشه.فضای شیرین و ادویه ای در کنار وایب بوزی خیلی شیک و مجلسی شروع به نمایش می‌کنه مرکبات کاملا در حاشیه و ضعیف کار شده اند و حتی در شروع هم خیلی حس نمیشن به مرور فضای عطر صَمغی_آمبری میشه و یک رایحه‌ی شیک و خوش‌بو درست میشه کار خوبیه ولی ارزش این مبلغ رو ابدا نداره **************** scent:7.5/10 longevity:8.5/10 sillage:8/10 purchase value:1/10 ******* overall:6.7/10

It was such a strong fragrance but in a good way. It defiantly makes you smell rich and it was good but what really put me off was the mass amount of rum in the fragrance. Though it is discontinued, I think that it was the best of the 3 and had a unique smell.

In all honesty I was a little annoyed by this perfume. The brand and I are very distant due to the prohibitive prices, general fanboyism, the questionable 'perfumer' status of Roge himself....yada yada.... but I put all of that to one side and wallow in the fantastic perfumes that I have enjoyed from the brand over the years, there really is something special about Diaghilev and Enigma, Danger and many others... If mildly derivative they are incredibly well crafted and just lovely things, Pafrum de la nuit 2 doesn't quite cut it for me. I don't dislike it, and I'm often one to say I don't care about the price of the materials going in, it's the art coming out and whether I deem it 'worth' the price, and there's something disjointed about the blend of this perfume. I personally don't like top loaded perfumes, all that wonder and complexity ultimately ebbed away to a lazy base of obvious aroma chemicals, again I'm not calling the use of them, it's essential but when I can perceive masses of fluff (timbersilk/iso e/cedar and amber chemicals etc...) I just get frustrated because someone is paying a retail price of nearly £1000 for something I perceive as crude. It's not their use that annoys me remember, it's the transition of the perfume from everything to nothing which troubles me. Specifically the opening is nice citrus, boozy, rum and a classy labdanum catalyst, which makes you think we might be in for a real treat from Roger here, but again this is not the rich smelling, rum CO2 or whatever (a very expensive material as it goes) of Enigma (the EDP original which is the only RD I own) it's more of a rum n raisin flavouring experience. The booze is deeply seeped into wood, this is a very woody perfume, brutally so. Parfum de la nuit No.2 does have a section of nutmeg and kinda, nutty leather/tobacco which almost evokes Bel ami or Equipage or something Hermes for a moment, and that's good. However, It smells ultimately smells of Iso E Super, Norlimbanol, perhaps some spicy accord of sandalwood materials, it's very dry and not very round or rich. Disappointing I felt, very tenacious but just one dimensional in the base. If this was a designer perfume, hell even if it was an expensive niche I'd say fill your boots for 200 quid. And I know....I know...I've said it before value is in the eye of the beholder and we all know the cost of the materials and the actual perfume are a tiny fraction of the cost, but something about this composition doesn't reassure me that I'm buying a luxurious perfume, and context is everything.

Mmm.... for 995£...no thank you. I mean it's an OKAY fragrance, featuring tolu balsam, labdanum and a light mixture of animalic notes (civet and castoreum), it definitely feels high quality, but it just nothing super wearable and I've smelled something like this before. Give it a try if you have you have some bucks to splurge.

The entire De la Nuit series was a disappointment for me; number 2, as its name suggests, is second best and just an ordinary perfume, nothing new, no excitement. Diaghilev is by far the brand's masterpiece.

i can appreciate that this is a fragrance that is well done, along with basically every roja, but i just dont like it. animalic and ambers in this just dont appeal to me. 4.5/10

Roja's Nuit No.2, This scent has a lot going on but once again Roja has concocted them beautifully. This quickly goes from fruity citrus to a animalic, spicy, vanilla (labdanum). By the next morning this will have dried itself down, completely, to a perfumey labdanum fragrance. In the beginning of its transition it will have a soft resemblance to roja's fetish pour homme but spicier. Ideal for fall/winter months, for the evenings. I see ages 40+ wear this. This is something Sherlock Holmes would wear or a fashionable, wealthy, widowed older lady. It's a bit mysterious... A rouge, a loner, a person who lives on their own but has obtained lots of class and elegance through life experiences. This was not what I was expecting. I was expecting this to be more original, ground-breaking, but it's not. Don't let the price tag misguide you into thinking this is going to be something spectacular it may leave you disappointed. I can't say this Roja's best work but he's put some amazing work into it. Not my choice from the Roja collection. I think Roja's main fragrance line for men is far better than this. This is a very strong scent becarful how much you apply. Longevity 10/10 you'll smells this from morning through night Projection 10/10 will def create a draft and people will know you're in the room

Prepare for the vitriol: Let's talk price...The ridiculousness in price is akin to the Starbucks tip jar for drive-thru customers. This is crazy just waiting to happen. I'm a high end kind of guy but i'm not HIGH..If you know what i mean. There's bargains then there's bullshit. Take a guess of what side of the tracks this lies upon. This is truly a concoction created for the inner sybarite in you. There's a certain expectation when you spray a $1400 fragrance on your arm. I want to see a ray of light shine upon my body, I want to see turtle doves fly over my head, i wanna hear the trumpets of Galilee. To my chagrin, i got an overpriced nothing burger as it pertains to price/smell/value ratio. This is a very average scent or should i say uber average. No need for me to break down the stages in which i smell the notes. I'm gonna do you guys a favor.. I'm gonna copy and paste the description above. "Rum accord is blended with cocoa at the heart of this creation, which is counterpointed by the freshness of citrus, lemon, and orange. Warmed by papyrus, patchouli, vetiver, and guaiac wood, the whole fragrance is sublimated by a soft, sensual base of cistus, labdanum, benzoin, tolu balsam, tonka bean, civet, and castoreum." Sounds like a great fragrance right? I can assure you that this is the same ole soup just reheated. A clone of many things that i've tried before..The sad thing about it is....I'm Pro Roja. Smh...

I have two decants of this. One is the 7.5 Discovery and the other is a 2ML spray sample from a split. I can say with absolute certainty that either there is a major difference in batches of this, or there was an error on the labeling with one of these which I think is unlikely. The 2ML Spray sample I received was absolutely gorgeous. Very similar to number 3 but without the animalic undertone. A smoother, sweeter version of number 3. However the 7.5ml discovery I received was ALL animalic notes. A blast of citrus and civet and literally nothing else, the smell was actually offensive, which is not characteristic at all of any of Rojas scents that Ive sampled to date. I don't know if this was just a dud batch or if truly PDLN #2 is THAT different from the rest of the line and the other sample I received was actually a different fragrance but im utterly perplexed at this point.

Enigma? nope. not even close , enigma is bright, fizzy at first then settles into tobacco vanilla godness, Nuit 2 is , Opulent , Regal , Seductive, Luxurious, Mesmerizing, cannot even find words to describe in the english dictionary, Yes i know, 1300$ for this, well you know what? you gotta pay for luxury friend, hehe. ,Now the scent At first you are being blasted with a cocktail of bergamot, orange peel and lime( GORGEOUS) THEN it rapidly gunfires into a mesmerizing addictive luxurious rum( not cognac like enigma) DARK RUM with cocoa and tonka vanilla aspect, the whole composition is dark, mysterious, sophisticated and verry verry Opulent , maximum Complexity that only a true fragrance master can craft, the embodiment of Royality that screams Attention , Now if you wear this , careful my friend!!!!! , this is the End-Game weapon if you want to Finish the story. Salute!.

In my opinion, this is a fragrance for formal occasions—whether it's during the day at work for leadership positions or evening social events where you want to appear friendly and pleasant, yet mysterious, rather than closed-off. So it's not that it's not suitable for informal occasions, I just use different ones for those :) Out of the three in the collection, this one is the easiest to wear and safest for a blind buy. If the animalic component (civet + castoreum) is putting you off, I think it's subtle in this composition... there isn't that typical animalic accord that bothers some people in perfumes. A pleasant, warm fragrance for a confident, mature, adult person with good, traditional fashion taste...

If you are an herbal tea aficionado this is your jam! It reminds me of an orange spice tea I enjoyed as a child. Of course there was no rum in my tea, but it does have an almost honey/camomile type nuance. It is very luxurious to wear on skin and I keep purposely smelling my arm, as it’s a “make you happy” kind of fragrance. The resins are holding it together and give it a deep solid base. I think anyone could wear it and find it pleasing. Too bad I’m experiencing this pleasure after it’s discontinued and not easy to find. That is what I get for being a unicorn chaser.

This fragrance is really beautiful, after the initial citrusy blast, I get one of the best Sweet boozy rum accords and a prominent coconut note which surprisingly works very well with the rum, there are some balsamic notes in the background. In the drydown, the fragrance becomes more balsamic,it changes to a balsamic incensy ambery accord with animalic nuances consisting of tolu, labdanum, with sweet benzoin and tonka, and a woody touch from the guaiac.

Starts off with a beautiful rum note. It smells deep, sparkling, coconutty and boozy in the best way. Then after about 15 mins it shifts to a very phase that smells entirely sour, almost lime-like kinda sour. Then the sourness goes away and leaves behind a bitter, burnt leather, burnt animal fur kind of smell. While I think DLN3 is a masterpiece, DLN2 is, while unique, not for me and not easy to wear.

Smells great. That being said, if you're on Fragrantica, this perfume probably isn’t for you. Fifty-year-old CEOs who wear suits and frequent exclusive lounges don’t read reviews here. Move on; your money is better spent elsewhere. This is my conclusion after wrestling with the decision of paying an insubordinate amount for a fragrance that will just gather dust in my collection.

Inside of a dusty wooden chest lie 3 jars, one containing semi-sweet cocoa powder, one the dregs of expensive rum, and one of dried coconut. Rather linear, slightly powdery and high quality scent that is nonetheless unwearable for me and doesn't speak to me very much. Feels similar to Creation-E. 6/10 for me, could be someone else's 10/10.

Very deeply pleasant with sublime subtle warmth; yet enhancing, probably great for any work environment. Roja Dove says it best: "Soft warm and tantalising, this fragrance revels in the power of suggestion. The warmth of a touch, the excitement of a quick glance...”, but goes no further than that, well-mannered.

PDLN 2 is my least favorite of the three. I do not find it similar to PDLN 1 at all. In fact, I find PDLN 2 to be sharp boozy, but not in a good way. I get a very distinct patchouli and papyrus and it gives the whole composition a dusty and unpleasant feel. Not for me.

Delicious and mature. After one wear of this and no.3, I felt this has more nuance and depth. I dont know if i'd ever stump up for a FB, but I can see myself getting a travel size. Complex, unique, wearable and something i'd love to reach for in a special occasion.

This is a beauty. It’s sweet with an underlying animalic scent which is wearable. I get the citrus notes in the opening which balances the drydown notes. It’s a well blended fragrance with a high price tag. Will enjoy this sample bottle for now before it runs out.

Smells like reception at the Sandy Lane Hotel Barbados - fresh but with a skanky under tone for me quite unusual but still a wow !

I cant really say that I have smelt the same thing, as I got a clone fragrance of it. To me to smells like cola lollies.
