Parfum De La Nuit No 3

I need to stop sampling Roja Parfums. I am literally in love with this one. Now don't get me wrong, I have loved almost every single one I have tried especially the parfum colognes, Vetiver Parfum, Elysium Parfum, Oligarch, Burlington 1819, A Midsummers Dream, etc, but this.....this is on a whole different level of straight up ecstasy. Earlier today I sprayed this on a tester strip four times, and it ended up being too many. It was rough, messy, hardcore and too abrasive. It was almost exactly what I was expecting since I typically only really like fresher, citrus fragrances. But then I went back to this two hours later, and the tester strip was actually...alluring in a strange way. It was still way too strong, but I could tell the base wanted to shine, however the four sprays absolutely suffocated the fragrance not allowing it to come to full life. So a few hours later (about an hour ago), I only went two sprays on the tester strip, and I spread the sprays out instead of piling one spray on top of another. Well...I think I found the blossomed fragrance....holy sh!t. This is disgusting in such a good way. I am so confused because I hate these type scents. But this one is so damn captivating. I am entranced in it's beauty. This is art in a bottle. I will try to describe the scent but I don't know if I can. SCENT: As I said above, it starts off incredibly heavy. In fact, I am thoroughly surprised it doesn't have oud in it. I DESPISE oud and I could have sworn its in here somewhere! But then it starts fading into a softer, more luscious and precious fragrance. The hardcore blast mellows out and it starts becoming a cool-chilly-like scent with the rose making its way onto the red carpet. It is still warm and spicy during this phase, but there is something exotically fresh about it. As it dries down, it occurs to me what makes this perfume so fresh....it is the ROSE! Oddly enough I despise rose as well. My nose always picks up way too much rose no matter how much of it is in a fragrance so it seriously never works for me....until now, I guess. The rose completes this fragrance. It is the star player without raising its hand. Everything blends so insanely well that the entire ensemble is just spectacular. Follow me if you can, but this is one where the rose makes this even more masculine and quite frankly alpha. There is no dude who will smell like you. You will own the room and exude confidence. OVERALL: What blows my mind the most is that this isn't just a "special occasion" fragrance. This is so shimmering and nearly fresh that it can be used as a daily driver. And that alone is something to be said. This can absolutely be a signature scent. I am considering to be my signature scent, but I am still very confused. Mr. Dove....Please close your business before I go bankrupt! A+++, 10/10, Perfect

Luckily managed to procure a 5ml decant of this scent from an online seller. I was convinced beforehand the fragrance would probably be just another potent rose based unisex perfume with a twist in the hands of the master perfumer Roja Dove. Needless to say, I was in for quite the surprise. So, applied a drop or two to my wrist one Friday night before going out and left the scent alone to settle in on my skin. The night was typically foggy overcast cool in this part of the Bay Area. Ideal conditions in fact to test most any perfume. On my way to the car and only 15 mins after applying this scent, decided to take a sneak sniff and see how things were developing. Wow !. I was almost spellbound with an instantly addictive & hauntingly beautiful cool rose aroma surrounded by rich spices and a little citrus. The rock rose in the drydown is unmistakable and blended in such a way as to compliment the other notes perfectly. On the way home, with 2-3 hours wearing on my skin, took another brief whiff. This time the only logical conclusion being that Roja Dove de la nuit 3 is one of the sexiest if not the sexiest scent ever experienced to date. Always inviting and never cloying or repulsive at any stage of development. Retail price is around $1,300 and apparently the best seller out of the whole Nuit range. A special gem of a scent used sparingly, if that is indeed possible, could last a lifetime for a disciplined owner. Just lovely stuff all around. 9/10

There’s no denying this is an absolutely stunning fragrance, but there’s two things killing it for me. 1. The price, this doesn’t smell like it should cost $1400. This should be priced somewhere between 350-400. 2. Performance is just average. I'd say around 7 hours. I know Roja likes his scents to sit closer to the skin and not be obnoxiously long lasting....but for $1400, i give roja full permission to make a perfume as obnoxious as humanly possible. At the end of the day, we also have to remember Roja Dove is not a perfumer, he’s a glorified grifter who preys on a small portion of the fragrance community who have more money than brains and NEED to have the most expensive thing out there. my final two cents on the fragrance, and i'll keep it positive. - this is definitely mass-appealing, it smells beautiful in the air. The cumin note is beautifully done and doesn't come off as "body odor" in the slightest bit. It adds a sensual depth to the base of the fragrance. Perfect for a night out with your friends, perfect for going to a nice bar or dinner or a nice club. - it evolves beautifully on the skin as the hours go by. There's without a doubt a large amount of naturals in this. - very masculine, to me, because of the leather on the dry-down. I guess a more butch woman could pull it off. - it smells of quality, that's apparent as soon as you spray it on.

Before a full depth reviews: 🤎 PARFUM de la NUIT 1 Very sensual and seductive, not the easiest one of these three. There are light leathery tones and an animalic touch in this -very sophisticated though- with soft Vanilla. This is definitely my favorite and it performs best on my skin of these three. Absolutely stunning and sexy, a tad naughty, resinous scent. 🤎 PARFUM de la NUIT 2 Three notes - Rum, Cocoa and Vanilla - together with balsamic notes creates a pleasant a little bit sweet, not exactly but Coca Cola kind of scent which is chic. This is the most versatile of these three because of the missing animalic nuance (in 1) and leather (in 3) and this is the most unisex one. You have to like boozy note tho. Anyway on my skin something bothers me. 🤎 PARFUM de la NUIT 3 Rose, Labdanum, Leather and earthy Saffron create the soul for this blend. This is not at all a rosy scent though, it’s only a supportive note. This is the driest one of these with woody, balsamic warmth of Amyris. Not at all sweet. This is the best on men imo. I recently went on a bit of a perfume tour of London and happened to stumble on a superb deal for all three of the La Nuit fragrances in a well known department store. I tested them all on skin and had some family members put 1 and 3 on and we all agreed at the end that 3 was the best, so I picked it up. Presentation on this is second to none, but onto the important stuff... So while 1 has a kind of dark woody and musty slightly boozy tone kind of like single malt barrels in a cellar, 3 builds on a similar sort of base but with a reduction of the darker woody tones that are instead replaced with a really sensual, smooth and perfectly blended rose. I do struggle with rose sometimes as it can go very feminine for me but here you may well have the best masculine use of rose in the market. It is so sexy mixed in with the wood and very mildly animalic leather tones from the labdanum, saffron and the cumin. It balances its wood, resins and florals to as close to perfection as I've smelled to date. Incredibly smooth. The scent does not push too heavily, same as with most of the Roja Dove fragrances and just sits elegantly for a good length of time. This would be absolutely perfect for an evening date scent and so fits right in with its "Parfum de la Nuit 3" moniker. Not an inexpensive fragrance by any means but I think it is some of his best work.

This smells like a soft, rich chypre to me. Maybe it's the cypress and leather masquerading as oakmoss. Gentle but complex. It's sharpened with bergamot, artemisia, spices and incense; and smoothed out with labdanum, rose and saffron. It comes across mostly green from artemisia, cypress and cedar; but the rose, saffron, cumin and balsam warm it up, pulling it in other directions, complexifying it whilst it coexists with the greenness. It is gorgeous. It reminds me of Diaghilev's subtle, younger sibling, not in flavour but in concept and occasion. #3 is smoother though and more sexy - less strikingly 'up the nose' than Diaghilev. Suitable for close quarters encounters, especially evening, or adding a distinct bit of class to the daytime. Completely unisex. If I had a million pounds, I would piss some of it up the wall to own both. That said, I don't know whether fragrances like this are a good thing. The height of mankind's sophistication? Or, at £995 a pop, literally and figuratively rubbing normal people's noses in it how much money the rich have? When I'm in control of the world, I will put an end to this ridiculousness. After I've bought both bottles.

Roja Parfums Parfum de de la Nuit No. 3 is, like many, the favorite entry of mine from the Nuit trio. The clear addition of rose makes the blend a bit more sensual than the relatively sharp No. 1 or No. 2, and while No. 3 shares some of the floral sharpness, it seems even sweeter than the others, involving a much heavier use of resins (amber, benzoin, labdanum, incense, balsam) and a woody blend of guaiac, sandalwood, and cedar. It impressively seems to combine the depth and range of a rosy scent, a resinous scent, and a woody scent all in one, which is very impressive. Its sophistication is palpable, as with the others, but while No. 1 and No. 2 almost keep the smeller at a distance via their sharpness and animalic twinges, No. 3 invites one closer with the rose and resins. This is a beautiful fragrance, and No. 3 is really the only of the trio for which I'm really lamenting the pricing (retail is $1,400 for 100ml) since I'd actually love to acquire some. Maybe in another life! 9 out of 10

This is a lovely fragrance. Not worth 1000+ bucks. If I found it on sale for 500ish I'd pick it up. For now, the little 7.5ml $90 travel thing will do just fine. This feels to me like a dress up fragrance. The rose is a fruity rose (my favorite) and it has an airy quality about it while still having depth. Sad to say it is really well made. Longevity and sillage on my skin leave something to be desired. Alexandria has a clone called thrē that's 98% Rojas creation here. Just about the same longevity too. Bought that one first then had to compare. If you're gonna spend this kind of money, though, get a bottle of Alexandria thrē and then ensar oud has some amazing offerings and so does areej le dore. Those will appreciate in value and are worth the money as the ingredients are verifiably worth more than what roja puts in his things. Plus once they're done making them, they don't make anymore clones, flankers, copies... And they usually get a cult following. Just saying.

Alright... here goes. Have a couple of decants of this, including the larger discovery atomizer that was sent to me as a gift from Roja after purchasing a few other frags direct from them. It's good. It's really good. It's very well blended and hard to explain. Individual notes are difficult for me to detect in this. I get some sweet fruity scents on top of some dark and sexy base. Sounds weird, but there is kind of almost a hot tar element in the base, and it's not nearly as off-putting as that sounds. Now here comes the hard part. I like it, yes. But do I like it enough to buy it at its price-point? Not a chance, and I'm willing to spend some $$$ on fragrances. If I found a good deal, I would add this to the collection. However, as it is now, I believe that my roughly 10ml decant will last long enough. 4/5, adjusted down due to the price.

In my opinion, PDLN 3 is the most mass appealing and “easy to ware” out of the three. It is also the least “dense” one. That is not to say that it is light, it has good longevity and moderate sillage on my very cool skin. But to me, this is the one that most appropriate to ware even during the day. It is perfectly unisex and can be worn for a trip to a museum or get-together with friends just as easily as it can be worn during evening for special occasions. Yes, the price is high, but the quality is also apparent. I believe that some notes in PDLN 3 are reminiscent of Sweetie Aoud, but they are in no way can be substituted for one another. Other Roja creations such as Lost In Paris, Aoud Extraordinaire, or Sultanate Of Oman or United Arab Emirates are completely different scents that have nothing in common with PDLN 3.

Really lovely Floriental exuding a sophisticated exotic beauty that only this perfumer can capture so fantastically. The perfume opens with a beautiful bergamot note then transitions to a lovely rose accentuated by herbal artemisia. The perfume settles on a sweet and somewhat powdery base of amber, sandalwood and leather surrounded by slight hints of several notes including patchouli, cedar, cypriol, juniper, cumin, amyris, guaiac, styrax, and cardamom. Unlike some of his sillage bombs, this is delicate and light but has a pronounced beautiful elegance from the time it lands on your skin. Some may question the huge price behind a rather delicate and soft perfume but to those who can afford, it is a lovely little treasure. Enjoy!

This is a predominantly amber old woody dusty that gives off a old fashion or vintage vibes, then theres beautiful florals in the background during the drydown phase, and there is a pinch of rose that provides it a small dose of sweetness. I remember walking in the aisles of a grocery store frustrated that i cannot find the product i was looking for but i kept saying to myself who is that wearing that wonderful pleasant scent (floral), but after awhile i came to find out that it was me. It was surprising bc when i first spritz it on myself it was mostly amber & dusty woods that later blossomed to gorgeous florals & roja loves contrasting ingredients which always makes them so dynamic and like nothing else.

Absolute magic. Really an unbelievable fragrance. My favorite of the PDLN line and probably my favorite Roja. This exudes pure class. An extremely beautiful amber, woody, spicy fragrance with such complexity. Leather, labdanum, saffron and cypriol oil with some florals is what my nose picks up on the most. Slightly similar to Amouage Overture Man which I absolutely love but not as animalic or in your face. I gifted this to myself for my 30th birthday. Luckily was able to find it on Jomashop for around 40% off of the retail price. Worth every penny I paid. Easily a 10/10 fragrance for me.

The true star in the extensive Roja line up. If we put price aside for a second, this has to be one of the most exquisite fragrances to exist on this earth. The most seamless blend, this is luxury Parfum done right. The cumin note blended with rose and incense create a mesmerising and intoxicating scent. It’s a heavy spiced, warm, resinous, woody and classy refined rose. Everything is seamless from start to finish. If money were no object, this would be worn by many people. Is it worth the price tag, that is for each individual to decide.

Putting the price aside, this is absolutely stunning. From start to finish....I've never smelled anything like this in my life. I read the note breakdown and I honestly don't feel like doing a deep-dive into what I'm smelling......I just want to wear it and drift away! I agree with a lot of the comments below....if money were no object, I would buy this in a heartbeat and have another bottle as a backup. This is what I expect from a perfumer who putting all their artistic talents on display without a budget to work with.

Wow. This stuff is amazing. It's rare for me to find a warm spicy fragrance that my wife really likes, this one does the trick. It has a deep, spicy, smoky, resinous side, but it also has an aromatic, pine and greenness about it. It also has a beautiful use of cumin and rose -- not something I usually enjoy, but it is perfect here. Incredibly complex but perfectly balanced with the spice, wood, resins, and florals. Fantastic fragrance all around. Scent: 4/5 Longevity: 5/5 Sillage: 4/5

My first try on the the house of Roja . It’s a beauty. Lot’s of personality ...dark ,mysterious and exotic . It Immediately reminded me of something... I wasn’t sure at first but then, a better ,more interesting version of Halfeti and Plum Japonais mixed together comes to mind . The name is spot on as this is definitely a night fragrance . First impressions mixed as I expected something completely unique. Nevertheless,it’s a beauty. Need to spend more time with it .

It's really hard to pin-point all these notes. Nevertheless, I do detect wood and leather accords, as well as a good dose of spices. However, first and foremost, this is an amber fragrance, an elegant one at that. La Nuit No 3 makes for a perfect night out fragrance in cooler weather. It's not as challenging as Diaghilev, but this will not appeal to everyone. Performance is great. Overall, it's very well done.

It’s been nearly a year since I received a discovery atomizer of this one, but tonight I fell in love with it. Here the Roja DNA is transmitted via the billowing honeyed comforts of Rose de Mai, and then deeply perverted by an erotic raunch of cumin Flawless. Nuit no. 3’s Rose/Cumin structure rhymes with the Lavender/Cumin that frames Danger pour Homme. Roja please send a full bottle

Pretty much all of this is fantasy note. There is a fair amount of Cypriol oil, Patchouli and Amyris Wood oil. Lots of synthetic sandalwoods and Benzyl Benzoate round it out. The overdose of vanillin synergizes well, smoothing out all the woods and spices. No, it is not expensive to make, the price is the real artistry at play here.

I sold ALL my fragrances, all of them, except for a few Rojas I like, after experiencing this. Nothing even comes close in my opinion. As mentioned by others, this has got to be the epitome of perfumery as we know it, ecstasy in a bottle.

This is my gold standard of luxury perfumes, when i smell this, the hair on the back of my neck stands up, it makes me weak, i’ve never smelled anything so luxurious! Worth every penny to set yourself light years apart from anyone else

This is so well blended and delightful. The price is quite intense but I found a bottle for less. If you are a lover of high quality fragrance or a collector I strongly recommend this! Beautiful presentation as well with the croffet.

When I smell this perfume I imagine prince ⚜️_FAZZA_⚜️ walking in a very luxurious shopping center in Dubai on a cool afternoon and as he walks he leaves a trail of this pleasant fragrance I love this smell

I have Roja Dove Parfum De La Nuit No 3 and 2. I haven't tried No 1 yet. This is my favorite. Roja Dove Parfum De La Nuit No 3 is a Beautiful sweet smoky dry leather fragrance. This is Sex in a bottle.

a more refined, elegant and less sweet sweetie aoud. Only buy this if you have disposable income. I'd rather get OG La nuit de l'homme and a plane ticket to the caribbean

To my nose, This is so similar to Roja's creation "Puredistance M No. 3". I love this scent profile so much, Yet it's so pricy to what it is!

Gentlemen's perfume. Very sensual, not for everyone. And certainly not for blind buying. Suitable for cold evenings only. 9.5/10.

Spicy sexbomb!!!!! The man has done it again. Smells like sex. This fragrance makes it feel like the night’s always young.

3 is an experience that the whole is much greater than it's parts and that's what makes a great fragrance. It's a sophisticated Oriental and it reminded me in parts of Lubin Galaad but with a dark rose that is seen in Noir de Noir by TF. Roja's entry is more robust and sensual, but it's to be expected at this price point. Definitely unisex, low sillage and one of a kind. Lovely

Rose and leather forward with a strong hint of greenery followed by spices, resinous amber and cypriol. Orange, saffron and everything nice. Every listed note in the scent profile is detectable. Awesome blend, makes for a mature scent with a distinct personality. Not overpowering. Classy.

Sweetie aoud - the gourmand accord + leather.

2 sprays in my elbow. On initial spray, I got reminded of Sweetie Aoud but then it goes more amber and resinous. There's leather in there with a nice rose too. Not much cumin and the incense is silently coming out as it drys down with a tiny bit of woods. It changed so much in just an hour. It went from sweet, amber and rose to amber, woods and smoke. It's projecting moderately on me and the silage seems nice. I think it's gonna last long for sure. I have a feeling its gonna change some more. Edit: after 3 hours, the amber, smoke, rose, leather and woods have all become balanced at its a very nice symphony of smell. The cumin has come out slightly but it’s not body odour style cumin. Instead, it’s a cumin that adds a sharp edge to the scent. Projection is still moderate with great silage. It does go past the 10-12 hour mark on me but its much lighter at that point. Definitely a decant first tho but most people might like it. Worth trying it out.

🟣 ᴘᴅʟɴ 3, “The Exoticist” Opens with an animalic leathery vibe and also still combined with the deep, spicy and balsamic cistus accord at the heart. At the mid phase saffron and dark rose accords mingling to enhance the complexity and giving a bit of uplifting nuance. The fragrance evolve from a dark profile into a fresh piney and citrusy nuance on the drydown provided by amirys note. I feel like riding roller-coaster with the constant wonderful morphing journey with this. PDLN 3 is the driest amongst PDLN series and it's slightly leaning on the masculine side. It also share the same dry chypre profile with the infamous Diaghilev.

This is the least interesting of the three perfumes in the series but only because it's basically Roja's take on the quintessential oud-vanilla-rose combo. Middle Eastern perfume for Westerners. Definitely has synthetic oud in it. Think Noir de Noir or a slough of Montales. Beautiful quality though--it's definitely Roja! It smells like there are a lot of high-quality natural ingredients too.

A complex blend with a predominant leather, labdanum, and incense smell. There's a touch of sweetness and florals to it to give it a good balance. The longevity is excellent even though the sillage stays close. Not worth £1,000 a bottle IMO, at that price I want my mind to be blown. I'm not a big fan of leathery fragrances although this is one I'm comfortable wearing.

I'm surprised no one has compared this to L'Air du Desert Marocain. It smells like a weaker clone of that. L'Air du Desert Marocain is bolder, better blended, and longer lasting. It also came out 10 years before this and is significantly cheaper.

The entire De la Nuit series was a disappointment for me; number 3 was my least favorite. I don't understand how it gets such high ratings; it's a very bland scent, it doesn't even know what it's trying to say or what message it's conveying. For this price, such an ordinary scent is a huge, inflated bubble. Diaghilev is by far the brand's masterpiece.

The sillage and projection are forgettable on my skin. It smells quite similar to Sweetie Aoud and is not a love-at-first sniff fragrance. Those YouTube reviewers nearly killed my wallet, don't blind buy this one if you want to get attention or compliments.

I became aware of PDLN3 at the same time my own life was crossing a threshold. The PDLN collection (PDLN, PDLN2 and PDLN3) was released in 2015, the year I finished my postdoc, a moment charged with exhaustion, relief and the quiet question of who I was becoming next. I remember knowing the fragrance existed, knowing what it represented and just as clearly knowing I could not have it; I just simply couldn't afford it back then using my academic scholarship and as part-time uni tutor's salary. It hovered there, distant and indulgent, like a door that would one day open but not yet. It wasn’t until 2020 during the strange stillness of COVID that I finally acquired a 30ml decant. By then, the world had slowed enough for indulgence to feel permissioned, almost necessary. The first spray felt deliberate, almost ceremonial. This wasn’t a perfume to be worn casually. It asked for intention. On my skin, PDLN3 is immediately intimate. Dry leather emerges first, warm and close, as if already lived in. Labdanum deepens it, resinous and animalic, inducing warmth rather than darkness. Nothing here feels loud; everything is restrained, controlled and undeniably sensual. The rose is not romantic but quietly present, lending a soft lift that keeps the leather from becoming severe. Saffron hums beneath it all - golden, spiced, suggestive, like the memory of touch rather than the act itself. As it settles, the fragrance feels less like something I’m wearing and more like something I’m inhabiting. Woody balsams and incense blur into skin, giving the impression of warmth held rather than projected. There is a stillness to it, a confidence that doesn’t need attention. Wearing it feels like standing in low light, knowing you’re being noticed without trying to be. This is not a scent for the public world. It feels private, almost secretive, as though its true purpose is to be discovered only by those allowed close enough. When I wear it, I feel less defined, less labelled, more instinctive. It awakens something uninhabited in me, something that doesn’t perform, only exists. The decant, though small, feels like the right measure. I wear it sparingly, usually at night, usually alone or for moments that feel charged with quiet significance. Perhaps I never needed the full bottle. Perhaps the longing, the waiting, the deferred possession are part of what make it so potent.

First of all i am a big fan of Roja dove works, i do have plenty of his work. This fragrance in particular is very strange to me. I can’t understand it, I have a 7.5 ml travel atomizer and i almost finished it trying to understand it. Very complex fragrance that smells pretty good . Does it smell like 1400$ fragrance ? Not to me . Is it worth the insane price tag ? Imho no. Especially if you factor the mediocre performance. It seems to lasts long ( 6 hours plus) but projection wise maybe 30 min at max and then a skin scent. Need to test the sillage of this maybe trying it on clothes. For me no 1 is the best of the trio so far. If this was like 1/3 of its price tag i might get full bottle but will not pay 1400$ for this.
