Parfum De La Nuit

On a recent holiday in Mykonos, I stopped by a small niche fragrance shop and they had some Roja’s on sale. I tried a few that I’d been interested in and then the sales lady said to try this. Wow! Absolutely stunning from the start. I was just blown away by the intoxicating scent that lingered on my skin. I asked how much for a bottle and was floored when she said €1200! I’ve got some very expensive fragrances but nothing at this price point. I left feeling a bit deflated as nothing else I smelt came close. Over the next few days I kept thinking about this fragrance and posted about it on a a very trusted fragrance group I’m part of. Just by pure chance someone in the group was selling a new bottle at less than half retail price. Needless to say, I’m now the proud owner of the sexiest, most exquisite, enticing fragrance of my entire collection. Pure serendipity from a chance encounter on vacation to a full bottle in my collection at a price I could justify. REVIEW: It’s interesting reading the descriptions of this (previously PDLN3). You’d think it might be dark and brooding but on my skin it’s surprisingly airy. To my nose, it starts off as a fairly typical oud/rose combo which is slightly sharp combined with a noticeable hay like note and a subtle citrus freshness but give it a short while and the magic happens. As it dries down it becomes softer and more dusty. The leather note that is prominent initially starts to fade back and there’s an underlying sweetness that is neither bold nor cloying. I think it’s a wonderfully balanced fragrance with many facets. More versatile than many of the reviews suggest but still, predominantly, a classy night time scent. Brilliantly masculine without being rough or harsh. The rose adds a delicate floral softness but is never to the fore as in so many of these types of fragrances, it plays an incredible supporting role without taking centre stage. It’s familiar but still unique. I just think this is an incredible fragrance in so many ways but especially because I find it so rich without being dense or cloying. I very rarely use this word but this is a masterpiece in my book. I couldn’t ever justify this money for a fragrance but super pleased with the price I was able to get it for. It has great longevity and exudes a nice scent bubble without being overpowering. The presentation is also outstanding with the lacquered closet box on a bed of silk. A truly luxurious offering that I’ll treasure.

Just got my PDLN in the mail last night. PDLN 3 is one of my all-time favorite fragrances. I reviewed them side by side for hours. Below are the results... PDLN is definitely NOT the *exact* same as PDLN 3. However, on the final dry down, it is 99% the same. PDLN starts off smelling like a stripped-down PDLN 3, which bummed me out. It lacks the freshness of PDLN 3 initially. It quite literally smells like it is missing the rose. It comes off as much more dank, dirty, and not nearly as fresh and cheerful. In the middle stages, the PDLN finally has some rose show up, but it's about half the intensity of the rose in PDLN 3. At this point, PDLN 3 still has that freshness that PDLN is trying for, but just can't match. On the final dry down, approximately 2 hours in, they smell nearly identical. If I didn't have PDLN 3 to test side-by-side, I would definitely think PDLN is actually PDLN 3. The rose is there, powering that amazing freshness I absolutely love about PDLN 3. Overall, they definitely do not start the same, but they end up being damn near twins. I am happy I bought PDLN! PS - sorry for saying PDLN and PDLN 3 so goddamn many times haha.

PDLN 3 is one my all time favorites from the 100’s of bottles in my collection. I wear it for special occasions and when I just want to smell fancy! I have roughly 20ml left of it and cringe at what people are selling it for now. Curse you Roja for discontinuing that line!!! So here come the new and refurbished PDLN. I hunted for the best bargain I could find and pulled the trigger last week. One spray on the back of my hand and I was over the moon. They are VERY much the same. Around the 4 hour mark I’m picking up a little more cadamom and incense than the original PDLN 3. But that’s basically it. Longevity and projection are the same to my nose. Cheers!

I made an account JUST to post this because there are a ton of misleading comments on here. I just received my bottle today. I was able to acquire it for $700 on a Black Friday sale. I can confirm that this is the same exact fragrance as Parfum De La Nuit No. 3. Anyone on here saying otherwise either hasn't smelled the fragrance, or is comparing to an older batch of PDLN3 that I haven't had my nose on. This bottle smells IDENTICAL to my PDLN3 bottle from a few years back. No differences. Hope this helps those who are looking to get their hands on this wonderful fragrance. You do not need to worry that it won't be the same.

Roja Dove Parfum de La Nuit is THE most luxurious fragrance I’ve ever had the pleasure of smelling. The opening is a very earthy and dry almost barbershop-esq fragrance with a subtle citrus in the base. (A bit dirtier than PDLN 3 but similar) as it dries the ambers really show through being spread across a beautiful and smooth leather. The far dry down has an extremely woody, leathery and luxurious Amber and is absolutely nothing short of beautiful. (The dry down is the exact same as PDLN 3) overall an amazing fragrance with great longevity, I get around 8-9 hours on skin, just wish it projected more.

DO NOT LISTEN TO THESE REVIEWS OR VOTES. It's a bunch of terminally online, sourpuss idiots butthurt about a rebranding. this fragrance is, quite literally, parfum de la nuit 3. it's the exact same juice in a new bottle. It smells exactly like my old bottle. it's a masculine, nuclear cold-weather fragrance for formal occasions. smells great.

To be honest I JUST put it on and at first I didn’t know how I felt because it smelled super anamalic. But man, on skin and basically immediately after it gets put on it’s like this incredible ambery boozy type of scent. I love it already. Also, I’ve never smelled it when it was in the way cooler 3 bottle. They should go back to that lol

The votes and comment section is a freaking circus... Its PDLN 3 in a new bottle and its 995£ / 1200€ as it has always been. A beautiful scent - its not made for the masses but for more refined noses. If some people on this platform just could get a grip...

woody amber with a cumin spice. Is it ground breaking? No. Is it the most amazing fragrance ever created? No. Is it worth the price? Definitely not.

Ok so here's a real review because I actually purchased this bottle and paid $1,350 USD. PDLN3 is my all-time favorite Roja hands down and I owned the older discontinued variant that is now discontinued. I purchased the older packaging bottle about 4-5 months ago and Shortly after I sold it because it just did not smell like PDLN3 (I have a large sample atomizer from a few years back) that resinous, sweet & dark masterpiece, it smelled more citrus heavy and unbalanced. I decided to buy the new version because I heard it was #3 repackaged. I ordered it from Roja Parfums directly and after a week it was here. Upon 1st spray I immediately knew something was different. I was reminded instantly of the last one I bought with the more recent batch code. Citrus heavy opening and no benzoin/labdanum sweet resinous nature that I fell in love with. I'm incredibly disappointed with my purchase and I believe wholeheartedly they changed the formula. This version is a pale shadow of what It used to be. It is possible that it needs to age and mascerate but as it stands its Just too different. It's missing depth and character and just smells dry, completely bland and forgettable I hope this helps someone, I wouldn't recommend buying this! If you love PDLN3 look for a much older batch. The batch variation thing I expect from companies like creed, not Roja parfums and I'm just mentally tired of buying fragrances that aren't what they used to be.

Wow you really see people outing themselves as delusional with this one. It’s the exact same as PDLN 3 I did rigorous blind split testing with myself and friends of mine it’s unanimous that it’s 1:1 but you see these idiots talking about minor nuance differences they prolly made up in their head. I’ll honestly never trust reformulation talk again this has shown me wholeheartedly even if the fragrance is exactly the same some peoples pea sized brain can’t handle the concept of a bottle changing but the fragrance being the same. For the scent itself it’s a 10/10 masterpiece totally worth discounted prices. I wouldn’t pay over a thousand for anything but to me this is worth $4-600. I think it’s fantastic one of the best fragrances ever made for sure.

I want to make it very clear to everyone. As you all may know Roja's La Nuit 3 was discontinued and this was the successor. If you take a look at the bottom of the Parfum De La Nuit bottle, you can see an engraved laser numbers of markings and at the end it literally says PDLN3 engraved. This confirms that this is the re-bottled/re-named La Nuit 3. Therefore, this is literally the same juice. Regarding the scent and olfactory experience. This fragrance requires confidence and poise. Not suited for the Warmer months in my personal opinion suited for special occasions. Performance can certainly be better. However, this scent itself is very well crafted and blended of high quality.

The comment and review section on this website is an absolute circus now. If a fragrance has been just released and if you haven't smelled it, why the hell are you rating it??! And all the people in the comment section complaining about the price: it's a repackaged version of an existing fragrance which was at the same price point. Not every fragrance that is available in the world has to be within everyone's budget.

Anyone saying this is a 1:1 of PDLN3 has absolutely no clue what they’re talking about. It’s a great fragrance, but this is NOT PDLN3. Not even close. EDIT: I would like to add this edit to my review. I was 100% sent a wrong sample from the company I ordered it from. I had since ordered a full bottle and it’s identical to PDLN3.

Why is the original PDLN3 is rated as more masculine with rather good performance characteristics and the newer version is rated as feminine with quite poor performance characteristics? I have not tested the new version yet. I’m wondering is someone who is familiar with both versions can compare and contrast please.

Is this Roja perf really $1,300? This definitely would cost an arm, leg and head of a "fraghead". I'm not ready to be sacrificed on the altar of "Haute Parfumerie" for now 😂
