Pierre de Velay No. 6

Pierre de Velay No. 6 is a beautifully unique and mature creation which combines fougere characteristics with balsamic ambery accords. It opens with sharp citrus of lemon and bergamot, accompanied by herbal aromatics of bay leaf and sage before a pungent green note of davana takes charge. Subdued florals of rose, jasmine and ylang provide that signature Roja sparkle as the scent settles. A realistic juniper note emerges which is very reminiscent of fir trees here, which combines gorgeously with ambery balsamic notes of benzoin, olibanum, elemi and styrax. There’s a hint of warm, spicy clove and nutmeg alongside an animalic leathery castoreum, smoothed out perfectly by an earthy orris. This is such a complex and unique scent, a creation that probably wouldn’t sell too well outside of an exclusive range such as Pierre de Velay. However if you’ve got a taste for aromatics and balsamic notes then this is fantastic, it definitely stands out and demonstrates just how talented Roja Dove is.

If the bottle had a decent atomizer I could have finished it ten times over. As happy to have this in my rotation as I am disappointed that I can’t buy it again so it’s upsetting and joyous in equal measures to wear. 10/10 scent IMO, moderate projection and longevity but completely natural to my nose. I’d smell like this all the time if I could.

Wearable. Green and citrusy. Medium aromatic. Somewhat perfect. Pillow-cut jewel. Omani fougere. Vanillic amber. Simultaneously clean and dirty musk. Comprehensive and possibly unparalleled. Lives up to the promotional literature. I'll take it.

A wonderful scent wafts from this perfume. Its perfect balance was the subject of many compliments. It is also quite unique.

This is the best blind buy I’ve ever made so nice and has replaced Burlington 1819 as my favourite Roja

This is a herbal (bay) leather filled with cardamom, cedar, and a tart lemon note that allows it to open semi fresh. Davana gives it a slight fruitiness while the elemi gives it a sweet spice. Overall you get a unique sweet spicy leathery (more benzoin than leather) aroma reminiscent of an Indian cafe in the best way possible. 8/10 with good overall performance.

Fresh, aromatic, nicely spiced fragrance with some amber and labdanum in the base. Smells like something Guerlain would do. God knows what this costs these days. I feel like fair value for this fragrance would be $200 for a 50ml. Anything more than that and you can find cheaper fragrances that smell just as good and aren't super rare or discontinued

This is one supreme scent. Its amazing. Its hard to describe, because it isn't floral, powdery, whiskey, cinnamon, or fruity. The way its long lasting top hits my nose is like seeing a brand new color! It's dry down is similar, yet feels more effervescent as I take deep inhales in the hours after applying. I will always want more of this one.

I was worried about seeing notes for bay, clary sage, leather and castoeium, but the blend is really nice. To my nose I get a herbaceous and balsamic amber with tremendous depth, but it’s still light enough to be versatile and unisex. On my first wear I didn’t get so much citrus and florals are only way in the back. Very natural smelling.

This is nice. Opens and stays aromatic. I get a lot of bay leaf. There’s a nice combination of spice/aromatics and woods/leather/animalics. There’s a lot of contrasts in this one. It reminds me of Reckless. I own a full bottle of that one which is a pity, because I think I prefer this one.
