Reckless

Ok this was super confusing when I was trying to buy it. I wanted the sweet “new” version (reformulated in 2015) and not the original aldehydic version (2011). The notes listed here on Fragrantica are for the old original version (2011). The new (2015) version has completely different notes. I’ll break it down for you. The Original Reckless (2011) is aldehydic with notes listed on this webpage. It comes in a white box with a purple satin lining. The reformulated “new” version (2015) is fresh sweet and marshmallow. It comes in a white box with white satin lining. The notes are as follows (taken directly from the Roja site) Reckless Ingredients Top Notes: Bergamot, Mandarin, Orange Heart Notes: Geranium, Rose de Mai, Neroli, Jasmin de Grasse Base Notes: Coriander, Pink Pepper, Cinnamon, Sandalwood, Benzoin, Vanilla, Styrax, Musk Ok now for the review. I have the sweet new version and I’m in LOVEEE. This is my favorite Roja so far. Yes it smells eerily similar to Kilians Love Don’t Be Shy. Reckless is less sweet and more refined. It smells absolutely divine! It opens very sweet and bubblegum like, afterwards I get a fresh neroli/ bubblegum scent. I can also pick out a fresh beautiful rose in the background. At this point it actually reminds me a lot of Si Fiori (another fave of mine), the dry down is absolutely divine. It’s marshmallow, vanilla with a touch of rose and fresh musk. This is quickly becoming my top fragrance. I hope this information helps :)

I ordered the Essence de Parfum of Reckless and was sent the Parfum version. I'm not complaining considering there's a big difference in the price between the two, especially considering I purchased the tester form. It's a very nice, classy yellow floral scent with some white floral notes, it's sweet but not cloying and perfect for my age group. It's a younger vibe for Roja and I foresee me wearing this with a nice, feminine long dress, Nothing too formal but yet something still classy, elegant, and feminine. It is reminiscent of orange blossom's and who knows what the notes are in the parfum version considering this perfume has several editions and has changed drastically with the essence version. I'm happy to have a more mature, elegant orange blossom scent as most of mine are combined with very sweet notes, besides O'Feminin. There is a slight bubble gum note that I detect on the dry down that is kinda fun!

So, decided to go to F&M today in London and popped up to the perfumery department for a scout round and saw they have a lot of RD frags. Dithering around I tried this and I love it. Sweet with J&J baby lotion/Turkish delight/floral/woody notes which I do realise sounds rather strange but it's really gorgeous. I am not sure it's worth the £395 price tag but it is beautifully blended, really compelling and so far I can't stop taking in deep breaths of this concoction. I didn't buy it but one day I might if I ever have that kind of money to spare (unlikely).

This was my choice of free discovery atomiser when I purchased my Elysium, a treat for me and a little gift for a loved one. I chosen it because people compared it to Kilian's Love don't be shy... I don't get that from this fragrance but in the best possible way its very beautiful. This fragrance for me says sweet and gentle rather than 'Reckless' but other than the name being a ??? for me this is perfection in a bottle. Worthy of its price tag in my opinion. Would I buy: Yes for a lady Recommended: Yes its a lovely experience

Very similar to Love Don't Be Shy, maybe a touch less marshmallow and a little more orange blossom. Pretty, feminine, quite addictive with a smooth sweet base but not sugary. I love LDBS and I think these are very similar but I think this misses a little animalic note in the base, this is a little cleaner. From the original notes listed, I see this was meant to have an animalic note but I certainly can't smell it in this new formlation. Pretty though, if you like orange blossom, I do.

This perfume is beautiful. It does smell similar to Love Don't be shy by Kilian, but better in my opinion. Update:This is a beautiful scent with weak longevity. I still find it similar to Love Don’t be Shy by Kilian. The Kilian scent lasts all day. Reckless lasts a few hours on me. If you’re deciding between the two, they’re both beautiful but Kilian gives the best bang for your buck.

I am trying this perfume today and i dont find It really very special. I could find some similarities with LOVE but not too many...for me are totally different perfumes. Where LOVE IS sweet and ambery with a very noticeable praliné note reckless is woodier and drier and with a dirtier note if Jasmine. For me LOVE dont be shy is one of my favourite perfumes with one ofnthe most beautiful sweetness that i have found in perfumery, but reckkess is more like hummingbird by zoologist with a more honeyed sweetness un the background. Where LOVE IS a 10 this one for me is an 8... But the quality of the ingredients is good and i can understand people Who prefer It. I think this one is like a more mature scent. Other difference i find is that where LOVE IS for me me Anightime oerfune and reckless is more for daytime. Anyway is a good perfume and very unisex for me, even existing a man versión. A few months back, a kind Fragrantica member swapped samples with me and she included many Roja samples, a house I’m not very familiar with. Today I’m wearing vintage Reckless. And it definitely smells retro with upfront aldehydes— making Reckless smells like a classic perfume to me. Beside the aldehydes, I’m not sure I can pull out individual notes. This is a sweet, powdery floral perfume. High quality ingredients done in a style that’s not quite me. I can appreciate the composition though I would prefer smelling Reckless on someone else. I’m not compelled to own it, and the pricing for Rojas is up to the individual. It’s completely out of my league. I’m a whatever-Sauvignon-Blanc-is-on-sale-girl, and this is a 2018 Domaine Leflaive Chevalier Montrachet Grand Cru. I usually can’t spot the difference, even though I know others can. And for the money, I’d rather spend a week in Hawaii. Still, I’m hitting the like button.

Pre-formulation Roja Reckless parfum is quite an impressive creation. It smells a bit like the older cousin of Fleur de Chine by TF (and - coincidentally - what I hoped Chanel nr. 5 would smell like) with one important difference: You can't play pretend when wearing this one, you need to meet the perfume(r)s' expectations or you will be revealed as a fraud :) Though maybe a bit overdramatic, that is the general sense Roja Dove perfumes give me - they're serious business = uncompromising. This must have been what Roja meant with: "If most people are trying to find a scent for their ego, I'm trying to make a scent for your id." Sadly, this one is not "me" however much I wish it were.

The first spray was like I dove into a pool of berry juice and then dried myself off with jasmine petals. I see some people comparing Reckless to LDBS, they are similar but Reckless I believe is more balanced. Reckless is a very youthful scent that reminds me of when I would binge drink grape soda at summer camp. I really enjoy the blending of the florals and fruit, but it completely covers the base notes. It's a bit too immature for work and daily wearing, but for vacation/weekends, it is nice to cut loose and be reckless :) Husband's impression: He didn't like it at first because the fruity scent was too intense for him, but as it dried, he grew to like it more.

A very nice scent. It really is. Feminine, floral, sweet, nice and pleasant smelling. Has a certain elegance to it as well, classic yet modern. It is not that long lasting nor is it overpowering. It's just lovely. However, at this price point (and with my purse) I personally expect more. The references to Love Don't be Shy are accurate, its along those similar veins, however, from those 2, I do prefer Roja Reckless. It doesn't have the play doh smell.. I would call this the perfect gift though.

Reckless is a dreamy, soft, feminine gourmand. It's delicately sweet, gently warm. I agree with the reviewer who compared this scent to "sunny marshmallows", though these marshmallows are sophisticated confections. I'm not a big gourmand gal, so Reckless isn't my kind of thing, but I would certainly enjoy smelling it on others.

There are not two versions of this. This is Reckless, the other one described below is Risque. Creation R is the US name of Risque, they are the same fragrance, the name difference is due to copyright issues. Reckless is a completely different fragrance. They are both beautiful.

I have the old EDP version of this, a tester bought on fleabay in 2012. Apparently the formulation has changed, but in any case - there are aspects of this I like, but I think this is the first Roja Dove I overall would not wear. It's not for me. On my skin it opens as a white floral - jasmine and ylang ylang with that light bubblegum note people mention and lots of aldehydes sparkling off the top. This part is lovely. It then takes a very weird turn. The florals burn off entirely and I'm left with tarragon, leather, musk, castoreum, and vetiver in a kind of smoky jumble that does not smell nice. There is no rose, no peach, no anything but tarragon, leather, vetiver, and stinky beaver glands for hours and hours. I've smelled perfumes where these notes are spicy and sexy, but this was so borderline gross that it made me feel sick. Is it my skin chemistry? Has the bottle gone off? If it has, none of my other older Rojas have. Anyway, this is my first and only Roja scrubber. Back to the beauty that is Enslaved for me.

Sickly candy sweet. Grape soda and smarties. I would imagine Nabokov's Lolita wearing this perfume, gifted to her by her pedophile step father. Otherwise, it gives me a vibe of an older rich woman who is trying to appear younger. I apparently have a sample of the sweeter new reformulation. The tiniest dab goes a LONG way. Great sillage and longevity, WAY too sweet.

Beware: There are two versions of Reckless pour Femme. The original one, launched in 2011, smells like Quelques Fleurs by Houbigant, which means it's a rather classic aldehydic floral perfume. The current version smells like Le Plus Beau Jour de Ma Vie by Guerlain, a soft orange blossom infused candy smell. What really bugs me: The formula was changed last year without a word from Roja Parfums themselves. People just suddenly started reporting that their new bottles of Reckless smell like an entirely different fragrance. That is a BIG no go! At least tell your customers when you change a fragrance THIS dramatically!

Botox for your olfactory nerves. One spritz and you lose half a decade. But I don’t think that’s Reckless. It smells like a guest bedroom of a friend’s summer cottage or better yet, a Sunday where there is nothing to do but eat candy by a saltwater pool, put on some glamour sunglasses and pretend you are ten years younger. Not because you are trying to fool anyone. But because life is hard, gets harder as you age, and any portal to an easier path is welcomed, even if it’s temporary. Get a sample and re-bloom.

I stumbled upon this beauty in Selfridges whilst on the hunt for a Spring/Summer fragrance. When the sales assistant sprayed this on a card I immediately noticed something familiar about it but I couldn't quite put my finger on it. It just occurred to me 8 hours later that on the dry down it smells just like Armani Code/Armani Code Turquoise. I can detect tuberose and ginger despite these notes not being listed. It's a gorgeous, warm floral that is very sophisticated and smells like money (and Armani Code!).

I so agree with Alasse. Very sad personally with the reformulation. I think I can get my hands on the original-of course the SA's didn't mention anything about any discounts. Lilac has also been reformulated fyi and is very different, very spicy. I was told Nuwa was reformulated as well. Creation S smells the same to me. I didn't notice any bottle changes which I'm used to seeing with reformulated perfumes so buyer beware.

I don't understand this scent. It seems a sweet neroli and rose scent, with some retro/vintage aldehydes touch, all very charming and feminine...until the tarragon note comes strong on my skin. Do you cook? I can't separate the smell of tarragon from food memories. On my skin this scent ends up smelling like a bouquet of flowers resting on a bed of bologna sausage. Eww...I can't wear this...a sample is more than enough...
