Roja Dove Haute Parfumerie 15th Anniversary

A little bit updated 💜 Once again, First I do a simple approach to a very complex beautiful scent. 💜 So the most describing words which comes straight away in my mind: Powdery Fluffy Violets Mossy Vanilla Woody Top: Aldehydes*, Lemon, Bergamot, Grapefruit, Mandarin, Orange Heart: Lily of the Valley, Geranium, Jasmine, Cistus, Heliotrope*, Violet*, Peach*, Red Champaca Base: Coriander, Ginger, Pepper, Moss Notes*, Patchouli*, Vetiver, Casmir Wood, Amyris, Sandalwood, Benzoin*, Vanilla*, Tonka Bean, Peru Balsam*, Orris*, Frankincense, Labdanum*, Ambrarome Absolute, Civet*, Musk* * Dominant imo but all blended absolutely perfectly in Roja's style so nothing pop out. Most of Rojas are very versatile for me and it’s really difficult to find an occasion where I definitely couldn’t wear them but RDHP15 is one of the most glamorous, glorious, solemn and impressive for sure. There is a certain kind of sophistication in it but in the same time it’s enormous, regal scent. It’s charming, luxurious and glamorous, it reminds me of lavish velvet dresses from the Baroque era. Still there is some coziness in it, especially in the dry down. RDHP15 opens up with a little bit sharp sparkling aldehydes but quickly settles down into surprisingly warm scent and surprisingly since Violets and Iris are very present but not in a cold way at all - and still - the color of the metal plate and cap describes perfectly this scent. Sweetness of Peach and warmth of Champaca works together with amazing base creating that heavenly fluffy and powdery feeling which is palpable. Balsamic and ambery notes add not only the deepness but the warmth as well whereas Civet and Musk bring the sensuality to the scent. Special mention for the incredibly skillfully crafted mossy note which is present throughout the entire life cycle of the scent. This perfume gets clearly deeper and somewhat even more polished when time goes by. The longevity is easily 12 hours and it projects a lot. Thank you for reading, I hope my review was helpful. I blind bought a full bottle of it during Roja’s signing bottles event. I’ve been tempted to get it because I like most of its notes. It doesn’t disappoint me after I received it. It is a powdery floral stunner like @HackerX said but only the first few hours. The opening (first 3-4 hours) has this nice powdery floral scent with slight animalic note that adds the unique edgy feel. I think it might be the civet. Then it starts to revolve into a resinous feel along with the powdery floral and the animalic start fading away in the heart. Few more hours in the base, it revolves into a more resinous woodsy but the powdery floral is still hinting there. Although it is a warmer scent, it is definitely not too thick nor too dark so it can be used during warmer months. It is also a very complicated smooth scent that I cannot pick up any individual notes and I feel there are many things are going on. Performance wise, its longevity is superb. Last 12+ hours on my skin. I sprayed it in the late afternoon and I could still smell it when I woke up the next morning but it only has moderate projection that the person who’s sitting next to you can definitely smell it on you while it’s not filling the room, which is great for Fall and Spring, even Summer. It may be a little too light or airy for Winter. It may because I am so used to darker and warmer scents. Also my skin chemistry doesn’t give perfumes good projections. Anyway, Roja became my number one favorite brand. I was never disappointed by their complexity, quality and performance. It just depends on different tastes of fragrances for different people.

I finally got around to purchasing a bottle after trying a small decant sample. It's barely reviewed online, but the few who did unanimously agreed that it's a masterpiece. I think I agree. It's very good, enough so that I dropped big money on a full bottle with little hesitation. This is officially the most expensive fragrance in my collection. It smells the part too. It opens with a lot of aldehydes combined with citrus, peach, and florals. It's a powdery scent. Dry down is a nice woody, amber base. There's civet in here, but I don't notice it. Not animalic at all. RDHP15 is also similar to Roja's big boy fragrance, Haute Luxe. They are not the same, but when you smell them I'd say they are cousins. RDHP15 is like if Haute Luxe and Britannia had a baby, minus the cacao. Not to mention the price is actually pretty reasonable when compared to his other top shelf fragrances. Performance is great. No complaints. The bottle and presentation are both beautiful as well. To sum up, this is characteristically Roja: bold, rich, powerful, and expensive. It won't please everyone, but if you're an enthusiast it would be hard not to appreciate this. I don't think weather or occasion much mater here. I wore it every day this week because I love it, rain or shine. As a bonus, I heard that there will be a RDHP20 sometime next year!

Upon first spray of RDHP15, straight away you’re greeted by the dominant note of the fragrance - peach; It’s creamy and sweet, and smells very realistic. This is backed up by a cocktail of soft citrus and clean aldehydes, before a heart of airy florals develops; namely a powdery violet and labdanum, lily of the valley and iris. As the scent dries down, you’re left with something reminiscent of a classic chypre - leathery labdanum, creamy oakmoss and earthy patchouli create this iconic scent profile, alongside supporting notes of vanilla, sandalwood and a touch of civet. All while the peach stays front and centre to elevate this chypre into something more fruity and playful. RDHP15 does lean feminine however I think it can be worn by both genders if you enjoy fruity florals. The peach can be a bit off putting upon first smelling it, but I’ve grown to love this fragrance and will definitely be buying it at some point. It smells like true delicate and sophisticated luxury, combining both classic and contemporary perfumery perfectly.

Wow, so off of initial testing after receiving the full bottle I wasn’t sure what to think or if I would love this. I am usually more of an oriental kinda guy, but this is so complex and delicious. This has a vintage Guerlian vibe with a modern wearability that I feel is a perfect anniversary fragrance for Rojas perfumery. The bottle and cap are outstanding and honestly I want every Roja made! (Although that’s a problem seeing the pricing.) definitely test this and give it a couple full wearings on skin if you don’t initially fall in love like myself, it’ll be worth it! Edit: I wore this today and someone told me that I smelled like baby powder lol I was so offended but laughed it off 😂

Had to fork out for this one. The powdery/sweet/iris/violet thing going on is incredible. Three sprays behind each ear and one on each wrist sets you up for a whole night out. I was still getting compliments some 9 hours later... not a blind buy as a lot of people don't like powdery but imo this one of the best in my collection. Amber is a strong component of this formula but weirdly I only managed to pick it out when I had covid and my smell started to recover a few weeks after losing it entirely. Those were a few dark weeks not being able to enjoy my perfumes lol

This is a powdery, peachy violet bomb on me. Its hard to make a strong violet fragrance. Over 8h longevity. Easy on the sprayer. Evening in Paris vibe

On first sniff, I kept wondering where I would have smelled this. Then I remembered that I had sampled Turandot and Chypre Extrodanaire recently so I can definitely see the similarities. It’s sweet, floral and powdery. Less florals the turandot and less sharpness than chypre extraordinaire but it still sort of feels like a merge of both. I’m getting more civet and sharpness here which is different and nice. Pretty musky and filled with nose tickling amounts of aldehydes. Performance seems really good too. I’m pretty sure it’s gonna go in a sweeter direction tho so I have to wait for that until I decide if I like it or not. Edit: it’s been 5 hours and it has definitely changed. But unlike turandot which went really sweet and chypre extrodanaire which went barnyard like animalic, this one smells really nice on me. I still get civet but it works better here and it supports the other notes well. Still on the sweeter side but it’s a great overall creation. It’s still pretty strong so it’s definitely got great performance too. A really well made scent but I’d still say it’s a decent one kind of fragrance cause of how it reacted to others skins in the comments left by others.

What I thought was oud broke down into civet, and that forms your overtone. The rest is a constantly evolving rigmarole of quality contents. Not a huge fan of the finished product, or the pricetag, but I had to leave a favorable rating for the sheer, undeniable quality. In other words, 15th just falls short of a 5/5 to me. Civet, spices, flowers, florals and powdery fruit. Particularly delectable, effiversent peach note. Refined harmonics. Objectively...craftwork.

The opening of this fragrance is beautiful, with powdery citrusy aldehydes...the dry down of this is amazing with, again powder, woods and spicy florals...but is no one going to mention the turd that is released after about ten minutes? It is not a slight Covid note, it is a strong, pungent, animatic note that is frankly sickening to my nose. But I washed it off and it was beautiful.

I love how smooth this feels. Opens quite lemony and peachy, but quickly melts into the violet and iris. I think many men would consider this too feminine for them but if you can see past the peachy muskiness then much like I felt of Haute Luxe (which I think this overlaps quite a bit) you could consider this Dior Homme if it was made in the 1920's golden age of chypres.

Seriously having flashbacks of this one while smelling MDCI Cio Cio San. Surprisingly good alternative.

A combination of Enigma and Diaghilev

I don’t understand what people are smelling here. To me this smells nothing like Haute Luxe or Feminite du Bois or Diaghilev. Of course this is just my opinion but I’ve smelled those & I have a 7.5 ml travel spray of this directly from Roja and I see no similarities to the scents mentioned. To me this is masculine & is heavy on violet leaf. What it does smell a little like to me is Creed’s GIT (vintage). Very glad I did not blind buy a bottle of this.

I had this for over a year now and all the feedback that I’ve received is that it smells like baby powder. When you smell it up really close... you can smell a more of the notes and know that it’s something "different" ....but most people around me think I’m using some type of baby powder. This is very loud, projects like a beast and lasts forever. I’m planning on selling it.

I’ll save you some time and tell you exactly what this smells like. Smells like a more expensive version of givenchy gentleman edp. All I smell in here is Oris and a little bit of labdanum

despite having so many notes and roja being one of my favourite houses, this ends up smelling sort of designer-ish, doesn't have that roja flair to it, this is not groundbreaking or something really special. i sadly do not see the comparisons of this with haute luxe or his other creations LOL as something in this smells really sharp & off-puitting. not worth retail and i will gladly pass on it. come on roja!

And my journey with Roja continues... RDHP15 impressed me the way I didn't expect before. Not only because this perfume screams luxury and opulence in the most sophisticated way, but for some reason, I've found the floral and powdery notes in here very pleasant and alluring - sexy, and intoxicated without the vanilla dominant! But how?! I asked myself that too. Well, I guess that's a good thing given how my collection has been growing and how my taste in fragrance has been developed along the way. Some good influences also help urging me to get out of my comfort-gourmandy-zone (don't get me wrong, I still adore all my vanilla frags of course) and this is the result of that, I'm attracted to this rich, sensual, sparklingly soft, and warm of RDHP15. Upon the first few sprays, this reminded me of my first Roja, Risque. They aren't the same but with the sparkling citrusy notes in the opening, they are a reminiscence of each other as well as they're both have this sense of Roja's DNA imprinted in them. Later on, all those beautiful purplely florals unravel themselves together with the Red Champaca which is a pretty common flower for me growing up, and it's done beautifully here. However, the best phase of this fragrance for me laying in the base. The spices vibes from coriander, ginger, and pepper blended really well with the creamy woody notes with the hint of sweetness from benzoin, vanilla, tonka bean, and peru balsam in the background rounded it up nicely. Animalic hidden in there as well bringing the sensual and alluring factors into the scent even more. I only have the 7.5ml travel atomizer with me but eventually, I would love to get a full bottle of this one. And yeah, I think it worth it.

Is it expensive? Yes. Is it worth it? Also, yes. Undoubtedly one of my favourites from the house of Roja. Extremely unique for today's market. The scent opens up with an amazing, powdery and effervescent peach blend (not overly sweet), that you can tell from the jump is built on a rich vanilla and violet combo. The civet regularly peaks through in a very intriguing way but is completely inoffensive. The cashmere descriptions are spot on - as the scent progresses and the peach note exits the centre stage, it transitions into an extremely smooth and fuzzy composition with the use of vanilla, heliotrope and musks. Later on, the labdanum and oakmass make a more prominent appearance to take the fragrance into a more masculine direction with a stronger leather and earthy undertone. For reference, the comparisons to Haute Luxe, Britannia and Turnadot are definitely warranted. Although, RDHP15 stands out in its own right, drawing inspiration from all 3 fragrances. Performance is also fantastic! Not a room filler but definitely makes its presence known. I encourage you to grab a decant of RDHP15 and spend some time with it. It is a masterpiece and your fondness will grow with each wear. Strong 9/10

RDHP15 is a powdery stunner! It opens with fresh soapy aldehydes, but that very quickly transitions into a floral sweetness dominated by heliotrope and violet, this powdery and dry sweetness resembles the smells of iris. This sweetness pretty much lasts for the entire life of the fragrance, in other words this iris-like scent is the star of this fragrance. It is however, not overly sweet or floral, the powder is somewhat tempered by pepper and woods, also a touch of earthiness coming from patchouli and vetiver. On the far drydown when smelling close to the skin you will get a bit of civet and musk to give the fragrance just a tiny bit of dirtiness, and at this stage the sweetness is mostly coming from vanilla and benzoin, but the evolution is so smooth that you don't even notice it. RDHP15 is beautiful and comforting, perfect for colder weather, it lasts easily 10+ hours with good projection that doesn't intrude. If you're a fan of fragrances such as Dior Homme, Dior Homme Intense and Rochas Man then this will be your holy grail!
