Note configuration: Top note of bergamot; middle notes of geranium, rose de mai and ylang-ylang; and base notes of galbanum, cinnamon, nutmeg, pepper, patchouli, benzoin, vanilla, birch and musk A rose backed up by geranium with its green bitter spice (some are reading hyacinth) done in the grand style of perfumery. Bergamot lends a citric tartness to the rose. At the beginning its leaning a green citric rose. A leathery green birch note begins to unfurl around the rose. Ylang ylang begins to smooth down the sharp opening as the rose starts to settle down and gets more plush. The taif roses and the rose de mai start to bloom. a sweet whiff of benzoin/vanilla emerge from under the petals while the spicy green ontop is still there with the rose, just not as prominent. It seems to do a 3-d effect on the rose idea with aspects showing itself rather than a cohesive blend. A faint shaving cream nuance surfaces so I think depending on your chemistry..this is a unisex rose. Roja's Rose isnt anywhere near grandmas powdery rose fragrances. It is modern altho how its built is quite vintage old school. The warm vanilla, custard like ylang ylang, nutmeg and spices come in (and usher out the short moment of the shaving cream) lending a dirtier sexier edge to the rose. This never drops down into the vintage dark animalistic roses say in Bal a Versailles EDC or Patou's Eau de Joy so it hovers well within modern decency. Note that there is no sweetness to this fresh rose so that may skew modern sensibilities that have grown used to candied roses over the last few years. The rose is fresher in its morning budding to bloom. Nahema's English Son is all grown up in modern times. You could also say its a Bandit-esque Rose. (less on the dirty side) Shame its discontinued already. A truly unique rose.

When Roja Dove set out to create Rose Parfum, he explained he wanted to make his take on a very modern rose - if that truly was his goal, then it’s safe to say he failed, for this is one of the most beautiful and magical vintage-style roses I’ve ever smelled. With May Rose at its core, this scent is beautifully bright and supple; the rose is dewy and pulpy, with subtle green stemmy nuances in the background, likely from the galbanum and citruses. Geranium and pepper add to this, providing you with a pronounced kick at the back of your nose, with a dense and slightly salty effect which is incredibly subtle. This is a rose perfume for rose lovers. You won’t get that horrible scratchy rose water effect here, this transports you to a royal garden filled with rose bushes on a warm spring day. I’m very picky when it comes to rose, but this is my absolute favourite and I imagine it always will be.

Wearing this today, I'm reminded of the quality that I associate with this brand... The rose in this just gives me the vibe and lift I craved for a Rose scent.... it's one for the rose lover & Mr Roja Dove did a fascinating job with this.

Velvety, Warm and sensual I smelled some expensive rose fragrances that are disappointing... this one is not. It’s a luxury take on rose with more than normal sensuality. scent : 9/10 quality : 10/10 uniqueness : 6/10 longevity : long lasting presentation : 10/10 it’s unisex. Semi french-Semi middle eastern. ( It’s not worth the price )

Nope not a soliflore at all; I smell a lot of hyacinth with a 90's vibe.. Nuwa is a lot rosier (but please don't waste your money on that).
