Disclaimer: If you already have Taif Aoud, you do not need this one. The similarities are striking. Now, in regards to the scent, you get some aldehydes and Taif rose through the beginning to the end with some oud, musk and benzoin. It feels very delicate on the clothes, On the skin, however, the scent is transformed into a gorgeous amber. This is perfect in the high heat and quite frankly, I think it's only appropriate for hot weather. In cold weather, it evaporates fairly quickly. Projection and Sillage are moderate, it's for the wearer but people around you may notice it. It has decent longevity on the skin but incredible longevity on clothes. More suitable at nighttime. I wear mine on special occasions. If you are afraid of oud, don't worry this one won't bother you. It is not animalic nor funky at all. Most Roja's scents are not animalic by nature. opens up herbally and bright, thanks to the artemisia & rose. dries down to a rose-oud forward fragrance with hints of spices, woods, musk and a light green/aromatic in the back. i pick up some qualities of this similar to his aoud, taif aoud and even kilian's musk oud. just imagine roja's aoud, you remove the leather quality, and add more freshness and middle eastern twist to it, you'll get uae. not that heavy/dark imo, airy character but beast performance. really pleasant fragrance overall! 9.5/10 (-0.5 insane price point)

Erroneously listed as a separate entry on Fragrantica, the only thing that has changed is the design of the bottle. I don't know why the notes of Taif rose and blackcurrant have been omitted here because it is all about Taif rose. This opens bitter and green from the Artemisia with a little bit of sweetness and an almost gasoline smelling oil. In the mid, this reminds me of Black Aoud with oud becoming a little medicinal while keeping that gasoline scent and a jammy rose joins in. The dry down is where the patchouli kicks in to add a chocolate twist. The jammy rose and oud are still present but the rose is now sweeter and the oud is now more woody and less medicinal. Really enjoy it.

Classy rose-oud fougere. A mix of everything, like most of Roja's offers, but distinct all at once. Awesome. Mild oud distillation alongside cypriol oil. Spices, herbs and vegetation. Something like a chocolate accord in the undertone. Stunning.

I have a full review of the original, but as a confirmation the juice is exactly same. An absolute quality fragrance! Just a shame about the bottle design, looks a little tacky compared to the original.

The opening of this new version is less oudy, more sweet fresh rose.. Had me worried at first but eventually got back to 99% similar :)

A gorgeous Oriental chypre centered around a leathery rose this is quite a nuanced composition from Roja Dove. The perfume opens with citrusy aromatic notes of bergamot and artemisia. The heart has a beautiful central Turkish rose surrounded by hints of jasmine,yang-ylang, geranium, nutmeg and cassis. The perfume settles into a powdery leathery base of a prominent musky civet, surrounded by patchouli, labdanum, guaiac, cypriol, benzoin, pepper, cumin, olibanum and oakmoss. A wonderful rendition of the opulence and decadence of the middle eastern playground country, this is the kind of smell that wafts from the opulent malls and heavily perfumed men and women that enjoy their excessive pleasures. Unisex with moderate to strong projection and excellent longevity. Decadent bliss. Enjoy!

I really enjoyed it compared to last time bout 4 months ago, coulda been the small aging but it was quite different as I hoped I would, this fragrances smells quite different from opening the skin scent while all being quite pleasant, sorta rolls with ypu throughout the day as things changes so is the way this is smelling I also love Rojas and if you do too you might like this one.

Roja UAE (2017) - herbal oud - Starts with Blackcurrant buds (fruity yet mentholated) with herbal green Artemisia, spicy clove, pink pepper, cumin and grounded by a woody yet French oakmoss base. Throughout the fragrance - Jasmine and Oud is clearly used in combination. Clever and a very refined oud accord.

I wish I loved this more, a classic oud/rose but it has this distinctive herbal/earthy undertone which my nose is unable to blend in well with the rest of the composition. I will say tho, very long-lasting scent, high quality ingredients, just not my favorite from the house. Much prefer the better composed Taif Aoud to this.

Not awful by any means, but definitely not one of my favorites from the brand. The opening is great, but it dries down musty, powdery, and sort of nondescript, and ends up not working super well on my skin. I do think Roja gets too much hate in general, and he really sticks the landing on a lot of his projects, but this one just isn't quite it for me.

Most rose-oud frags go very floral on my skin for some reason and it turns out to be a powdery old lady scent which is what happens with this one. There are very few that work for me in the rose-oud genre. The opening was good, but quickly turned too floral.

I really don't get it. This does not smell good. This could potentially smell good if you wanted to smell like a super old woman living in a musky house with 7 cats and floral bouquets in every room. Definitely not for me...HARD PASS I'm being generous here, but 2.5/10

There’s a lot to be said about the fragrance and I could very easily run of superlatives to describe it. Roja has showcased some of the finest raw materials in way that feels distinctly Arabian but finessed by traditional French perfumery techniques, while feeling entirely modern. UAE is utterly mesmerising. It’s opulent without being excessively grandiose. Simply UAE is an olfactory amalgam of two separatist fragrance styles, the result being a composition that is beautifully unique. UAE is unisex leaning masculine, with incredible versatility. I think this one could easily be worn year-round and in all occasions. In terms of performance. For context's sake, I've not smelled the earlier Roja Parfums United Arab Emirates Spirit of the Union, listed correctly as a separate fragrance. This review is for a sampling of the newer 2017 release UAE that has black-faced bottles similarly-styled to other members of the same collection, such as Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kingdom of Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, and the Sultanate of Oman. UAE is definitely more of a standard rose/oud than the sweeter, fruitier Kuwait that I sample yesterday. UAE entails a heavy taif rose--a sharper rose note, I find, than other types of roses, though I still feel the learning curve of becoming accustomed to various rose notes. Beyond the rose, the blend of UAE is spicy, woody, and a bit animalic. Oud factors in significantly, its animalic side coming out a bit more than its medicinal side in this case. I also get some cumin, patchouli, pepper, and resins, per the note list. There are also numerous florals. It's definitely at the intersection between pleasant and challenging, mostly pleasant from a cursory sniff but certainly more challenging when taken in more deeply, and I find it a big enigmatic beyond the abovementioned few note. Much like Kuwait, though, UAE is rather versatile with respect to gender, age, occasion, and season, though its relative heaviness and density at least push it toward more cold-weather use. Performance is very strong, and as with most Roja Dove fragrances, price is the biggest obstacle, as UAE, like the others from the collection, is $555 for 50ml, steep by almost any standards, so I'm likely content without it in my collection. 8 out of 10

I don't like the smell of this 4/10 However, it does an okay interpretation of the middle east as a whole. The opening has this herbal spicy incense feel that is common in the middle east. I also get a stinky oud in this and i don't know why Roja went down that route. It would be really hard to find someone in the Gulf states burning any pungent oud chips. I feel like people in the west don't understand that middle easterns don't like stinky oud. However, if this is supposed to remind you of the UAE I give it a 2/10 I do a lot of business in the middle east and have visited all the Gulf states multiple times, except Saudi Arabia. I also have all the Roja Dove Gulf collection, except Saudi Arabia. To me none of the fragrances in the collection remind me or smell like the country they are named after. If you randomly sprayed this on a test strip and asked; what does this remind you of? I would say warm and dry maybe the desert or middle east? But I wouldn't be able to pin point the UAE When people think of the non-turbulent Gulf states the first thing that jumps to mind is wealth and luxury. I'm disappointed Roja tried to make a luxurious smelling fragrance instead of making a fragrance that would remind someone of the UAE or the smell of the UAE. All the Gulf collection fragrances wear heavy so I give him credit on that. People in the Gulf states don't care and wear their scents heavy even if it's a million degrees outside. They love their dark, rich, heavy, and resinous scents no matter the weather, so that is a plus.

This is a minty fresh rose oud with dark chocolaty undertones, possibly a combination of Geranium and Patchouli, which reminds me at times of a great Charmes Chambertin burgundy which can have gunflint, mint and chocolate nuances hovering behind a rose and ash base. But it is a fresh, but balanced style of oud, which could be used all seasons, even the summer. It has some similarities to Pierre de Velay The Oud, but with less saffron and the leather that comes with it. Certainly worthy of consideration if you are looking to get into top end rose ouds, but if you already have a few in this genre you should make sure that it is not redundant. Despite its obvious quality it is perhaps the least original of the Gulf collection, but at the same time the most classic and wearable. I'm not getting a full bottle due to price but do enjoy it and would wear it if I had unlimited funds.

United Arab Emirates open with a green herbal bitter artmesia blended with a prominent green fruity blackcurrant, this combination is joined with a sharp somewhat smoky Taifi rose accord with hints of fruity and spicy nuances which are enhanced by the use of blackcurrant, the rose is combined with oud but the oud does not smell exactly like pure oud but has some nuances of it along with some leathery touches, there a cloudy spicy element in the scent that does not smell like a particular spice to my nose but it is going to cumin direction and there is a prominent civet note in the drydown. While I appreciate the blending of this scent, I could not love it, there is something about it that feel too heavy and too rich, I think it lacks some airiness.

A lembrança, se é que pode ter, por esse "odor" mais forte de rosa seria, como vi em outra resenha (Kuwait), a casa da bisavó com aqueles jardins caracteristicos na entrada(peculiar no interior do estado de Sãp Paulo/Brasil) e seu mobiliário antigo, esse mais suave. Minhas primas brincavam torcendo várias pétalas de rosa para obter um aroma mais forte e o madeiramento da casa antiga lembram esse perfume.

Very nice. The more I smell the more I love it. I mainly get oud & rose. Oud smells close to same oud in TF Tobacco Vanille. Instead of vanilla though it is rose. Very nice masculine rose too. The oud is just this side of barnyard. Well done! Just started testing so cannot speak to longevity. Very pricey. Worth it if you can afford it. I'm not a millionaire, but don't regret the purchase. This fills a hole in the collection. When you're dressed to the nines and looking like perfection, this adds the finishing touch. When you want to attract a woman and not a girl...

I got a sample of this and fell in LOVE with it... after many wears, this is becoming a little bit offensive on my skin. I made my mum also sniff it on my skin and she also didn’t like it. I’m getting a barnyard kinda smell. I’m sniffing it now and it smells like a bad mouth odor (sorry for being harsh). Will revisit it again and revert with feedback. Anyway, performance is superb 👌. Haven’t gotten any compliments so far.

Almost all of the notes list for ROJA perfumes look the same, looks like he threw in everything but the kitchen sink. Lol So you’d think they’d all smell the same. But no, they don’t. Still I’d know a ROJA perfume by smell alone. Very nice but not for me.

ISSO a bottle of this in the VINTAGE FLAG presentation. I know the newer version will be EXACTLY THE SAME, cuz Roja never compromises...... I just have to have to have it in this particular presentation for the sake of adding it to my collection...!

Mmmm not so sure about this one I think it’s probably me over spraying but it’s opening is actually quite harsh BO oud forward .... The quality is there but it’s actually too much for me - my first review below was after just one spritz ...

The opening is breathtaking but after about an hour, the animalic note gets too strong for me. If this perfume had maintained its opening throughout its life, it would have definitely been my signature scent.

Not a million miles from oud isophan by CD or a slightly more aggressive version of TF oud fleur performance is very good though stays on clothes for like ages !

Very incense-y and extremely herbal oud, with a strong artimesia note. Great performance. Not a huge fan of the scent profile to be honest. 3/5

Very similar to Mancera Aoud exclusif. Very similar, you'll get more mileage with the Mancera.

Funny on the roja website this has blackcurrant yet no one picks it up
