The Great Inca Priestesses

Just discovered a perfumery nearby has the whole line of roméa d'améor in store... And this was my first to try, since the saleslady said it was her favorite. According to her, the whole line has the concept that each perfume represents a different type of woman, a different charactre. Well, if this is how mystical inca priestesses smell like, they smell pretty sweet! Yes I like this, it's a warm cozy orange/mandarin sliiiightly spicey vanilla. But with the fruity overtone though. Smooth fruity. It smells youthfull but also 'motherly' at the same time. Someone you'd like to cuddle. Don't know if inca priestesses even did cuddle at all, but if they would wear this perfume they certanly would. It's slightly musculine too, I admit, but not so much that it would make it un-feminine. In fact, the masculinity adds a bit of casual sexiness to it. Inca priestesses is not a very unusual, mystical or 'niche' scent, but very pleasant and has enough sillage/staying power (on the paper at least) for me to say 'thumbs up'!

My romp through the house of Roméa D'Améor ends today with LES GRANDES PRETRESSES INCAS. My initial impression was that this was a made-for-men cologne. It really smelled quite masculine. Later, however, the composition became far more sweet than aromatic. In the end, though, I found myself reporting to my cat, “This perfume is stinky. I don't like it.” Enough said. All in all, I was unimpressed and a bit disappointed with the house of Roméa D'Améor. I might consider adding a bottle of LES IMPERATRICES JAPONAISES to my collection, and I would wear LES MAITRESSES DE LOUIS XIV, if I had it, but honestly I can live without either one and certainly the others in this line. IMNSHO, Pierre Bourdon did not deliver on the promise of his name as the creator of all of the perfumes of this house. Although I did not positively dislike most of this collection, nor did I find them at all compelling. Désolée.
