The Princess of Venice

There's a pungent, prickly opening note, but it fades within minutes, leaving behind lush warm jasmine and ripe melon, with some sparkly berry juice thrown in for good measure. It is soft, round and scintillating, very feminine. This is a warm, sunny, happy scent, it just puts me in a good mood! It has some sillage and can be oversprayed. I would not advise to buy this one without testing, it is very particular!

Don't let the amount of negative votes here drive you away. This is very beautiful for the right person. Before sampling this I expected something terrible, a fruity mess, but "The Princess of Venice" is so much more. Firstly I must advise to be careful at the start, you do really get punched in the face by indolic jasmine and orange blossom, after the first blast there is also very, very noticeable fecal note, which we simply must endure. The heart part is marvelous, the jasmine goes in the background and the dominant flower becomes lily, the cassis adds the needed amount of fresh spicyness, fruit wise - I feel only pineapple which adds a much needed sweetness, together with lily it smells really nice. The drydown is a nice lily/jasmine combo with well behaved musk underneath. Do try this is if you love spicy lily. This is not a floral fruity. At least it was not for me.

Like diving into a big spicy white lily. Then becoming a little soapy, grassy, with a prominent, somewhat putrid jasmine note. Mellowing on the drydown, it tones down and blends quite nicely and pleasantly. Soft.

Roméa D'Améor LES PRINCESSES DE VENISES is a somewhat sharp floral fragrance featuring orchid and/or lily, along with what seems to my nose to be a mimosa note. Although I did not appreciate this composition very much the first time I wore it, it grew on me as I explored it further. I've been noticing lately that my first take on a perfume is not always very accurate. Perhaps during the first wearing I am distracted by the top notes, and it takes some time to appreciate the deeper layers and complexities of all good perfumes, of which this seems to be one. I would recommend this creation to those who favor floral bouquets with lower sillage and also like mimosa. This is not a Big Fat Floral Fragrance (BFFF) by any stretch of the imagination. In keeping with the general aesthetic of this house, the floral notes are front and center but not overwhelmingly so. 3.29.11

The opening of this is like a horrible cheap plasticky brash jasmine, oh god jasmine just doesn't do too well on me. The fruits are there too but it just reads as one big yucky mess on me. Before long, 5 or 10 minutes, it has softened and now its all about the orange blossom with a hint of blackcurrant. It is now almost a delicate pretty scent! One thing I have noticed about all the perfumes in this line, is that you could hate the opening, love the middle and the end, and also that almost all of the openings of Romea's scents are loud, brash and almost horrible (on me) and then they dry down within minutes into something I could like. I've never experienced such a range of emotions (loving it/hating it) from one perfume until I tried these!

I ́ve tried the whole serie, and must say that I was a bit dissapointed. This one is very sweet, girly and fruity. The basenotes sound really good, but the one basenote I can smell is raspberry. But if you like raspberry I think you should try this. It is pretty and welldone, good stayingpower. I find it nothing but dull.
