Song for a Queen

I'm qute surprised with this one, since the brand name used to be Dear Rose, i expected that their perfumes would have roses or its twist (like rosine, or citrus in atelier cologne), but no. On me this perfume feels like root beer without its fizziness, like when you put root beer in the open and just leave it be until the soda wears off. The scent is thick, intense and yummy, with good silage, projection and longevity. This is a unisex and a very versatile scent, it can be casual and sexy at the same time. I love it.

Blind bought it, got it for a unbelievable price. It’s so beautiful , it’s a creamier darker version of Rouge Malachite. The creaminess borderlines a milk note similar to blanche bete & sogno in rosso. I think the smoothness of the amber mixed with the heliotrope is evoking the milky feeling for me. Ultimately the jasmine is the star of the show, so if you don’t like jasmine stay away. Worth a sniff imo.

Reminds me of Joop Homme, powdery vanilla, heliotrope, benzoin, with lots of amber facets (though that note is not listed). Cuddly, bold yet soft, a very queenly contradiction. Major sillage (scent trail) and lasts for hours. Best-suited for cold weather, so autumn and winter. Too stifling in warmer weather. Great addition to a collection!

I dont know, but i smell cherry out of this.. quite hard for me to similarize this with anything else. The blending is soo delicious and the sillage is huge and airy. Not too feminine and not too sweet. Just pleasant and different. This is not the smell you get everyday on the street, the wearer must be classy and stylish. Get it!

This smells like The Chronic 💕

For sure, for a queen (red and visible!). The sillage and the longevity are excellent, very strong. More for winter and fall, the benzoin, vanilla and cashmere are very present, with the freshness of bergamot and jasmin in top notes. Potent, sweet, not good for a blind buy... 7/10, I prefer softer perfume. If you like very present perfume with vanilla and cashmere, you need to try it! I will wear during the night (party, club) and winter. To my nose, similar to Rouge smoking of BDK (without cherry)

What a pleasant and refreshing blind buy. I got this off the second hand market for a very good price so I decided to purchase it based on the reviews. It surely did not disappoint. It smells like it is fit for a queen. I have not smelled anything like this so I am so happy to have it. I can’t even describe how it smells as I can’t decipher the notes however I would call it feminine and edgy unique without smelling dated or old fashioned. I can see myself using this through the entire winter.

One lovely and very comfy heliotrope. I can smell that characteristic hint of honey heliotrope has. It's fluffy but not in the usual flowery way. Very calm, harmonious and probably deceptively simple. Very well done and it can become addictive to people who don't mind the overdose of benzoin and musk. I do, it usually bugs me in the long run, but the texture is delightful, like taking a blissful nap under a baby blanket.

Very very good. For a queen. It has the airyness of a modern male fougere, but the edge is feminine. No vanilla in my nose. Not cloying. More leathery then musky ( cashmere?). Refined, easy to wear but luxurious.

SONG FOR A QUEEN lasts for ages! It's been 12 hours and it's still projecting very strongly. It did go away some 6 hours in, but then BOOM it was back! What I enjoy about the SONG FOR A QUEEN besides the longevity? In all honesty - nothing! It opened as an industrial glue. It wasn't just my trickery nose, people around me turned their heads and asked what the hell I just poured on my wrist..I actually have met a perfume which smells like glue on me (and no, it's not the one by Comme des garcons), but in that case I actually liked it - thing with SONG FOR A QUEEN is that it's industrial glue + something so sweet and overly feminine that it just feels wrong (even though smelling like glue is usually considered wrong despite the appeal it sometimes has, haha). Anyway - this could turn to a terrible blind buy. The price tag - 185EUR/100ml - does give me hope that there won't be many to splurge on a bottle without having many good tries before from a sample. 5/10, because the scent itself did project nicely and it have it's good moments and I could just blame my skin chemistry not the scent itself.

Cloying vanilla, I felt nauseated and had to wash it off after half an hour.

It's superb. Even more so, given there are basically two notes in play: jasmine and vanilla. Sure, some other quite expected notes help enriching this image: sweet orange blossom, which is half-jasmine; benzoin, which is half-vanilla; honeyed heliotrope as a bridge between the two and a slightly powdery facet. Some recognize tuberose, I do get it. And the brand's website lists osmanthus absolute in the middle, which I honestly don't. A reviewer below said "bold yet soft", which is so true. Strong yet clear. This is mostly jasmine and vanilla, yet truly outstanding. Thousands of scents have the same pair of notes. So what is it? Quality of materials, molecule magic, mere craft? Hard to verbalize how good it is by just listing the notes.

I'm sorry but this is a real NOT LIKE in my opinion. To me it smelt bad and real dirty like sweaty washing that's been sitting in the washing bin for days or towels that have got wet and then not dried properly. However, after washing my hands and doing the washing up it changed to a powdery sort of smell similar to end of Givenchy Play. A real no no for me but one of the only smells over the recent few months of trying possibly 100's of samples that my other half said "mmm that's a nice one". I'm still on the look out for a new signature perfume but nothing lives up to my gorgeous Poeme. :(

I am surprised that tuberuse is not mentioned... The jasmin mixed with Benzoin give a great sensation of a thick tuborose, This smell like a thick tuberose with vanillic benzoin backbound and with a touch of helliotrope that give it some airness and pordereness. I most say the the first part is the best part. I did smell sparkling and alluring... however the drydown become flat in a way since that sparkle and poderness faid away. longivety and projectinos very well.

As a man, I loved wearing this. This perfume is strong and will stick to you all daylong. There is a fruity grape juice like smell that will linger on forever. Its however a female perfume but can be worn by men who like sweet perfumes Scent: 9/10 ( more feminine) Longevity: 9/10 Projection: 8/10 Uniqueness: 8/10 Overall: 9/10 Blind buy: Most definitely not however I did.

I’m a fan of Roos & Roos fragrances. They really are multilayered and masterfully blended. The quality per dollar is unbeatable. This one is no exception. The heliotrope-jasmine experience with the vanilla-cashmeran base is different from any other vanilla I own. This has a blend of modern and vintage notes that I’m super enthralled by.

This is a gorgeous powdery vanillic orange blossom scent. It's incredibly chic and smells luxurious. This sillage is incredible, and in a wear test, I received a compliment from a stranger from whom I was adequately socially distanced. I find it highly wearable, transcending seasons I'd say.

I've got Lilla Lilla by L'Erbolario and this scent reminds very much of it just with a hint of incense note from Bouquet Ideale or Raghba.
