Sympathy For The Sun

This perfume reminds me of memories,evokes memories in me ... a delicate scent that whispers and stays with you. I love the peony here, a romantic and extremely modern peony. Overall a cute parfume, the idea of peony and salty/citrus notes is something new, however I like it enough...! Sillage: 6.5/10 Longevity: 7./10 Scent: 8./10 Overall: 8./10

Absolutely soft enchanting powdery Paris like fragrance. I couldn't pass it by. It's so rounded and ended with slight very soft powdery note, something similar rob Noa by cacharel but way higher in the class and qiluality. NEW NOA it is - and I am extatically happy, because that was my romantic date perfume back then. Now I have it back reborn.

I love this fragrance❤️ Initially (based on a test on paper) I was unsure, but it is so nice when applied. I have kept noticing it all day. It reminds me slightly of Contradiction by Calvin Klein, which I also love, although Sympathy for the Sun is a softer, more powdery floral. Bliss.

This is beautiful. Gentle, floral and citrus, which becomes softer and softer, but not so that you can't smell it, it just seems to become like a sort of beautiful musk - very smooth and gorgeous. I love it. Gorgeous, feminine, delicate flowers and sweet citrus. Lovely. Really lovely.

Ok, I must be smelling something completely different to everyone else. This was a blind buy, based on the reviews here, and I wish I hadn't wasted my hard earned money. Don't get me wrong, it is not an awful scent. It is a very soft, light, almost translucent scent. Like a light floral summer breeze or a whiff of a fabric softener. Very delicate. Generally I am not a fan of heavy hitters but for the cost of £100 I would like to actually be able to smell something. Even with generous coating of 6-8 sprays it is still barely there. Perhaps I am anosmic to it but usually I adore salty AND peony fragrances and they tend to last on me. Not sure what has happened here though. So sad, I had high hopes here and they have been crushed, expensively. Virtually no projection and poor longevity too.

Sneaky charm. The fragrance opens with the most banale sweet floral on top of laundry musk. Much like washed linen hanging outside in the sun. As the fragrance dries down there is a distinct salt note left on the skin, like traces of seawater. Lasting power is okay but the fragrance stays close to the skin.

Linen drying in the sun with a hint of citrus and jasmine. Not bad, nothing special.

Citrous, salt and jasmin. I love peonies and I do not smell a lot. Very fresh perfume, more for summer, hot days, unisex to my opinion. My image with this scent: sun, hot sand, ... Well, nice for your holiday to the Ocean. 6/10, not my cup of tea. Don't blind buy.

I noticed with this brand that the opening is often cacophonous but then it settles down into something harmonious and pleasant. Not with this one. It opens with the drydown you'd have after spraying your armpits with a perfume and running a marathon. Not even a perfume but Wella hairspray that was sold in the 90s (those who remember). If I put my nose close to the place on skin where I sprayed I detect a faint smell of lipstick (also somewhere from the 90s). I don't smell any of the notes in the pyramide, unless the combination of them gives this particular smell that I can't find pleasant.

Smells like something from my childhood that someone around me wore. Its not a bad scent but it is not for me. It has zero projection, stays a skin scent with maybe moderate longevity as your nose can sometimes pick up an extremely light scent. Too expensive to not be able to proper smell something.

I don't get freshness and summer from this scent at all. It smells like an old lady, very heavy and old fashioned powdery. Even after a couple of weeks of trying this perfume, it doesn't grow on me at all. Not a match

I hate it! It reminds me of Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male! I cannot stand it on my skin.. I was hopibg for peony, citrus and salt, and I did not get neither of them! Do not blind buy!

Smells exactly like Nina Ricci

I truly despise this scent. It is a one trick pony; so powdery. It reminds me of lipstick from the eighties mixed with masses of baby powder. Unwearable. Edit: This is why I love Fragrantica. It is so amusing to read all these loving encounters with this scent. How different we perceive scent! This is probably my least favorite scent I've tested ever, and whenever I go back for a sniff I wonder who in the world could ever love this. And then I find all you lovely people on Fragrantica who just cannot get enough of Sympathy For The Sun.

Oh wow, this is amazing! I got a 2ml sample from Notino and was immediately enveloped by a lovely powdery scent that seemed to surround me - I could smell it when I moved around (which for me is fairly unusual). I think it's the combination of peony (always a winner) and salt notes that I love so much. This brand is only available from a very few high-end suppliers in the UK, and - would you believe it - the company in Paris does not ship abroad! Very poor marketing in this modern age. Anyway, I may well hand over the £80+ to get a bottle from Notino, rather than pay full price to Harrods or Harvey Nichols. End verdict: if you can get a sample, please try this.

To me this is like BALMAIN Ambre Gris' soft-spoken younger sister, slightly floral and tinged with citrus. Not loud, assertive or quirky but then not all fragrances need to be. After about five hours it has dried down to a powdery, skin-like musk and I found myself wanting a bottle even before that. Delightful.

This must be a kind of musk I’m anosmic to, and then combine that with volatile citrus, and I can only barely smell this fragrance, and only when it is first sprayed. I feel like I can kind of smell a perfume counter somewhere, halfway across the mall.

Top note has a lovely lemony scent the first couple of minutes which then fades into a strange kind of smell similar to Elnett hair spray from L'Oreal - fortunately the sillage is very soft and the longevity is weak

Like smelling_g8 this fragrance disappears oh so quickly I love every minute of it until it fades away ,the salty citrus is just gorgeous then poof !!! nothing

Got a sample of this and it was love at first sniph! The sillage is sadly not so good, but I truly love every minute of it! A bottle is on its way!
