Woods in Love

Woods in love is a very evocative scent. It brings you back to an uncertain period in time, a period that you have maybe romanticised about at some point. But it is quite different from other violet powdery scents and mainly because it has a high dose of citruses, the mandarin being at the forefront of the composition. This citric aspect enlightens the mildly nostalgic composition, placing it between melancholic and festive, depending on your mood. It is a lovely creation, please try it out especially if you are drawn to more retro scents.

I really wanted to like this, based on the notes, the bottle, and even the name itself. And I really fell in love. You smell the lipstick but also the musk and so much violet. It's like a soft, white cashmere sweater on a grey October morning. I literally feel so good smelling this I might cry.

One of my favorites to wear to bed. Jaipur Pour Homme EDT is my favorite. As it warms under the sheets, it feels more posh.

How confusing! The brand used to be called Dear Rose, and is now Roos & Roos, this fragrance used to be called In the Wood for Love and is now Woods in Love. Nevertheless the fragrance is just great! Soft and clean woods without any smoke or harshness, citrusy with some floral notes. I don't generally like woody fragrances but I really enjoy this. Woods is like going directly to the patchouli drydown of Dioressence, Ysatis or Divine Divine. The fragrance reminds me both of Indian shops with fragrant oils diffusing and simultaneously of old hotels in Paris with massive wooden cupboards and the floors freshly cleaned with some citrusy stuff. Sillage is good, and the fragrance is so soft that it is easy to overspray by mistake. Lasting power is only so-so, 4-6h. As with most niche houses I feel the fragrance is somewhat overpriced.

Citrusy, woody, lipsticky opening, with violet dry down. Leaning into the feminine side, unfortunately I didn't get much longevity but great fragrance after all.

The opening and heart are intriguing but quite flat even a little bit bitter and astringent for me, almost soapy... But the dry down - 3 hours later... is divine!!! The cedar, patchouli and musk linger beautifully in the base and are perfectly balanced, remaining fresh and sensual. It’s making me want a FB
