Rosendo Mateu No 5 Elixir

This is a deeper, less floral, more vanilla version of the original RM5. It's basically RM5 taking one step in the direction of Babycat. I absolutely love these and I have all of them in my collection. I think many people would consider the extrait redundant with both RM5 and Babycat, as it lands firmly in between as the perfect mix of the two of them.

I got it yesterday and I am in love with it. I do own Vanagloria and this one shares the same dna. They are a bit different, in Vanagloria and Babycat I sense more spices. Very strong scent, I can sense it on my skin after a shower and hours afterwards, so watch your sprays ❤️😇

I think the N5 original is a dark and sweet perfume, but how does N5 elixir compare to it? I'm Japanese, so I'm using the translation function. If you are selling samples on eBay please let me know.

I just got a 5ml bottle of this to try out & I like it enough to purchase a full bottle! I don’t wanna downplay this at all But it reminds me a lot of Aquolina Black Sugar which was a cheap fragrance, But smelled so great to me I hat I have gone thru 4 bottles of it and just purchased a new 🆕 new bottle at a niche price because Black Sugar has been discontinued for some time moving from $40 to $110 This though is better! I don’t get the floral amber thats brought up about this. I get amber vanilla and what seems like rubber, But mean that in the best way...Mancera Aoud Vanille Has been on my radar for so long & although I eventually will, I haven’t yet gotten n around to it yet, But will! It def reminds me of it as well! Could it be this No5 is slightly better than them all? I get the dark vanilla & rubber note above the amber or the floral, Or anything else tbh..I am the opinion this is a lil better than all of these before mentioned fragrances, It’s damn good & now that I definitely no longer have to chase down Black Sugar at the store extreme high prices any longer! I sum it up & say it’s a cross between Mancera Aoud Vanille!! & Aquolina Black Sugar with hangin performance! Full bottle worthy for me!!...Dirty dark vanilla in the drydown..No floral or Amber detected..JS

On paper: Creamy, very powerful tonka and vanilla with lots of borderline dirty muskiness. No new notes from the EdP detected yet. On skin: Here we go, dried strawberries and strawberry & raspberry jam at the same time. Big milk accord that almost turns sour on my skin, which most lactonic scents do. Creamy, slightly smokey vanilla in the back. Fortunately it gets creamier and warmer with time and the sour milky tone dissipates a good amount. Better than the original but with an increased price. Lovers of the original owe it to themselves to try it!

As I tested at Excense, I found the word "elixir" to be somewhat misleading. This fragrance feels softer, more airy, with a lighter touch of animalic musk and spices still ambery but not that loud. It's well-blended, especially for me who find the original No.5 is too much. It’s a flanker, but in a different direction. Worth trying!

I don’t really see the point of this to be honest.. “elixirs” are usually meant to be like more dense and heavy versions of the original, but no.5 is already dense and thick.. so I don’t see how the extrait is gonna be much different.
