Roxy

I wrote a long, beautiful tribute to this, and then forgot to hit the save button. Go figure. Let's see what I can patch back together: Oh, Roxy. You were *my* first perfume. Not the first perfume I had ever smelled by far, but the first that felt like mine. My mother had a large collection growing up, and as much as I loved to explore and sample, I knew that all of her fragrances were for "big girls", and that I was just playing dress-up. I found this in a PacSun store (are those still around?) when I was 14. I went through about 4 large bottles of it over the next decade. For those 10 or so years, this was my signature scent that I wore for every occasion, during every season. This was *my* signature scent, something that finally made me feel confident, beautiful, and not an imposter playing in someone else's collection. My thoughtful and loving partner tracked down a bottle for me about 2 years ago, and I use it very sparingly, as so as to not squander the last of my youth (what a morose analogy, I know). Every time I spray it on myself, I am flooded with 10+ years of memories--the good, the bad, and the ugly. This was the perfume I was wearing when I graduated high school and college, when I met my first serious partner and I broke up with that same partner 6 years later, and for so many other life defining events. So many memories, few of them deeply saddening, but many more of youthful elation and fearlessness. A few reviews mention sweetness, but I don't detect that in my spritz--to be fair, this has been discontinued for several years, and my bottle is probably several years past its prime (me too, bottle...me too). I do definitely detect a quick fruity opening, and then musk (and some aquatic) in the base. I also remember this fragrance lasting all day, but now is gone from my skin within 2-3 hours (again, could be that my bottle is old). I feel like I need to "grow up" and find a new signature scent, and most days that's now Narciso Rodriguez's For Her EDT (I love my primal dirty musks, dangit), but this will always hold a special place in my heart an ode to years past.

This was my favorite perfume, my first perfume, and it will always have a tender, special place in my heart. It was magical. I’ve never found anything like it again. I cherished it. It was from Marshall’s. It was my very own special moment, something all my own. Growing up in San Diego and vacationing in Hawaii, I was a huge fan of all things Roxy. I wasn’t great at surfing but I loved the ocean and the water. This was my dreams and aspirations in a chic bottle that fit smoothly im the palm of my hand, the size and shape of a pebble tumbled on the shore. This fragrance was so important to me as I transitioned from a girl to a teenager. It was bright and sweet, clean and playful. I mostly remember the scent of plumeria, maybe pikake, maybe gardenia. Watery and fresh too. Heavenly. Trying to find it again, or something like it. Similar to Power of You- Armani (2026) and somewhat like Frangipani Flower- Jo Malone, but not enough. One Summer 2019 shares some of the bright, clean aquatic notes.

Very sweet & summery fresh scent. Quite a fruity frangipani initial blast that settles down into a sweet musky aquatic base that is perfect for summer days. A simple but relatively long lasting girly perfume, it never goes bad/sour on me like some other fruity scents can - it just fades away gently which I really like. A good holiday fragrance that can be picked up cheaply in the UK.

I LOVE ROXY! Ever since I smelled it in Teen Vogue in 2007, I've had 4 bottles, it's really hard and expensive to find now, but for me, worth it. It's defiantly a teenage scent, very light and fun, but it lasts a long time!! In the card I got it says "Roxy is a glowing floral scent with deliciously sophisticated notes." Be careful not to spray too much though!

Why discontinue a perfume so amazing as Roxy pink ,what can l use that is similar to that? And recommendations?

My very first perfume! I remember middle-school-me begging my mom for it in the drugstore. It smelled like the most beautiful woman I'd ever seen at the small-town walmart, buying her green-and-pink bottle mascara in layered tank-tops and wedge heels. This scent will always be a time and place to me. It's been a long time since I used up my bottle, but I remember it being powerfully fruity with no specificity at all, just an idea of something pink and ripe, while being overall too fresh and white-floral to cloy. It had a soft, unobtrusive musk you found in most youth-aimed perfumes at the time; the type that you were sure your crush would notice if you sprayed enough on after gym. Cool girls smelt like this. I've since bought much nicer, pricier perfumes, but i'll never be as cool as this girl was in 2007.

I wonder LydiaLiu if you are reviewing Roxy or Roxy Love? Roxy Love could definitely work as a unisex, Roxy Roxy to me is very feminine. It also doesn't smell cheap to me. It's a strong fruity floral with a sharpness to it almost along the lines of True Religion. True Religion gives me a headache. Roxy, if used in moderation, I can wear. While I don't smell frangipani (also a favorite of mine)and I can't call out specific notes, overall I like it. Roxy fits in line with Wrapped with Love but without the level of sweetness. If you enjoy Wrapped with Love you may enjoy this. A good summer scent. Not ground breaking, just nice, fair lasting power. About 4hrs.

I wouldn't choose this type of fragrance by myself, but a shop assistant applied this on my wristle. I was looking for a new summer fragrance and I liked it! Maybe that's frangipani what I like. I agree that this is a fresh beachy scent.

I use to love this scent but it started to smell foul on me after a few hours and gave me bad headaches.Now I am giving it away to a friend who likes.

I think im drawn to perfumes with frangipani. This is best for summer but I use it on winter days I need a pick me up. It puts me in a good mood.

Good scent! Fresh, citrusy, not overpowering and long lasting (at least in my skin). Good to wear on summer.

Roxy starts off with a bright summery fruity blast. It immediately dries down to a soft girly floral. Unfortunately the magnolia gave me a headache so this won't be a perfume I will wear. It will be a wonderful summer perfume for those of you who aren't so sensitive to the magnolia though.

I wore this purfume on my wedding day and it smelled really nice but not quite my style. I forgot to bring purfume which is a big mistake on your wedding day. My Maid of Honour had Roxy in her purse. I ended up buying it but it never has smelled as good as it did on that day.

It's a very fresh beachy scent, good to use in dry hot days. Or would be a good choice for a right guy to apply as sporty perfume. To me it's not feminine , but it has the feature of uplifting your mood in hot weather.

I agree, this smells like one of the Tommy Bahamma perfumes. I do like it but in Australia it can be very expensive so when it is a little cheaper I will get it. I am not prepared to pay 60+ dollars for it!! I have Roxy Love which if you like the green Versace or Moschino Funny or Brittney's Circus Fantasy you will probably like Roxy Love. It lasts and smells fizzy like lemonade and a little musk. These are both nice you can't go wrong. I don't think the Roxy designers were wanting anything too serious or complicated let's face it, girls on the beach or dressed in casual surf gear do not want to wear Samsara or Chanel No.5. It's not to say they have no class just a different style and I think these perfumes fit it perfectly. Citrus, fresh but not smelling like bathroom cleaner.

I had a sampler of this during the summer of 2008 and I've searched for it ever since. This perfume feels very me, especially the 15 year old me but also who I am now. I occasionally see it in stores for about 25-29 dollars but I have never actually bought it. I want it!

they sell this at Marshalls $12.99 for the gift set 1.7oz bottle and 5 oz lotion.I bought the gift set and an extra 3.3 oz for $14.99 lasts long and smells fruity and light.

Floral opening then a pinch of fruits, and then musk and frangipani, the two most dominant notes. Very indicative of the brand, a very summery and beachy scent.

light and fruity. something you can wear if you work out in the public and dont want to offend. smells good at a great price. you cant beat that.

Frangi is one of my favorite flowers. Too bad in this perfume it just smells cheap. And reading some of the posts here, it is pretty cheap!

I got this at TJ Maxx for 9.99- could not resist. I like it on days when I want something light and fresh. It reminds me of the beach.

I think it's smell like Max Mara Silk Touch. It's a good fruity scents. But not unique and bottle are look bad!!

I smelled it on a store, it smells amazing. So fresh and fruity! definitely my next purchase!

More of an aquatic-floral to me than floral fruity.
