Cutting Garden

This smells like a very cutesy floral perfume with all the notes mixed together to where you really just get “flower garden” in the initial spray but there’s still something special about it because after the initial blast of florals, it goes a little bit green/wet garden and and then turns into what I can only describe as the smell of skin that’s been out in the hot sun after putting on lotion. For whatever reason, it weirdly makes me feel nostalgic for a scent from my very early childhood. I like it.

Cutting garden is quite appropriate because this perfume smells like a variety of white flowers and sweet grasses that have just been cut. It's extremely green and fresh, reminiscent of Gucci Envy. It makes me think of the endless lawns of green grass that surround so many castles. I can just imagine Marie Antoinette laughing and running through the grass on a sunny day while wearing a light blue silk dress and her enormous, white wig.

the notes are wrong above, or the formula changed. My box (bought today) lists the notes as: top notes: star jasmine, rose, gardenia middle notes: spring leaves, hydrangea, lily of the valley base notes: sandalwood, grass, birchwood Smells grassy and sunny, very springtime. Something about it smells very nostalgic. Reminds me of middle school in 1998. (Clinique happy? Tommy girl?) Doesn't last long.

The white florals waft briefly and then it dries down to a warm hay, cut grass smell that while not exactly exciting, evokes summer warmth. Every once in a while I get a fragrance that I don't totally love but it is so easy-to-wear and inoffensive that before I know it, the bottle is almost empty. This is one of those.
