Field Poppy

Gosh I love this Fragrance House! I bought this scent along with Muguet Woods when I was pregnant with my youngest daughter and I am still in love with both. There is something truly magical within the world of the Apothic. It is green, that is for certain, but there is such a complex olfactory experience involved in all of Sean's fragrances that I find it almost difficult to describe how Poppy smells. There is certainly the earthen field, there is the warmth of the sun, and the not too sweet aroma of the poppy itself. But along with that, their is an unearthly magic. Love love love it. The fragrance house shut down for a while, but they are back in business! If you want a fragrance which is quintessentially Apothic, look no further than Field Poppy x

Field Poppy is a very aromatic herbal tea perfume that's flavored and lightly sweetened by fig. The highly aromatic herbs are the main players followed by the tea. Third is the fig which is both fruity and green. This scent would be at home in that fragrance line that starts with "D" and makes expensive candles. This would make a great candle scent, and I've used it as an "atmosphere enhancer" (room spray 🙂). The sweetness is light and less than that of many popular tea scents. I don't feel the harshness mentioned by another reviewer, but I do find the mid and drydown to be more pleasant than the opening. This is a neutral or "for anyone" perfume. On skin I get about 7-8-hours of useful longevity with a strong sillage during the initial hours. Normal movement brings scent to my nose without having to directly smell the application site. Spraying skin leaves a very heavy sheen! Don't fear the oud note listed as it has never presented itself after a dozen wears. As for the exotic woods, I'm certain there's some wood giving this perfume its "legs" but before looking at the notes my guess was guiac. The lily-of-the-valley and moss notes are barely detectable but their use helps separate Field Poppy from many modern, generic tea fragrances popular today. Since Field Poppy is atypical I wouldn't recommend a blind buy. I use it in moderate to warm weather, day or night, but in my climate's very hot & humid summer days it becomes cloying.

Not a safe blind buy. Personally, I find it on the men's cologne side. The greenness feels a bit harsh. Don't smel LOV nor fig. The fig is more prominent in their SANTORINI. The lily note is more like the one in TBS Aqua lily. Again, it's purely my personal opinion....
