Plains of Thistle

I first came across this parfum in a very obscure boutique in Missouri. Purchased without knowing how it would react to my skin. It comes packaged in a beautiful wooden box lined with a velvet material. The cap is made from a type of clay which sits perfectly on the bottle. Before I go into the scent, I will explain my journey. I have very acidic skin and usually have to go with something patchouli based. Most parfums when applied, are destroyed by my chemistry and are gone within an hour or two after application. Most older Chanel’s, Versace Blue, and Poison (original) are the only ones that last around six hours on my skin. When I applied this one I was excepting it to disappear within an hour since the base contains no patchouli and the top notes are citrus. It begins with a beautiful blend of lemon and hyacinth with the resin coming through slightly (as how it smells on me). This remains the main scent for about four hours then starts to become creamy and a bit more floral. Around the 13th hour (yes 13!) it is a sticky warm resin with the floral notes floating in the background. At this time it has settled to a gentle skin scent that is oh so good. It works wonders in the heat and doesn’t fade. I didn’t find any reviews of this one anywhere online, but I am so incredibly happy I took the plunge. Wish the company was still operational because I would buy more.

I bought this at Anthropologie eons ago. It has been my daily scent since early college days, perhaps even back into high school. Literally 10 years, almost, I've been wearing this. It lasts a long time on me and to this day smells lovely. For reference, scents usually turn sweeter on me - for this reason I like a woody or citrusy scent most often, and avoid anything more fruity. Overall, I do smell the pepper and the wood a lot. The citrus seems to be the gradient blending everything together. This is good for springtime and summer, definitely. This perfume will forever be one of my favorites.

I bought it in the hand-cream form, along with London Rose. It's floral, fresh, a bit mossy, white musky and aquatic, with a touch of (synthetic yet comforting) citrus. I don't get much mint or pepper note. I think there was definately a similar scent I've smelled before but I can't come across the name yet. _____________ Wow, I see. It's Chanel Deauville !!! The London Rose smells better in quality, like somthing between Serge Lutens Sa Majeste la Rose and La Fille de Berlin.
