Isabella

The bottle is beautiful and substantial and swoon-worthy... the price is pretty nuts. This scent is beautiful, no doubt. BUT! When I first sprayed this I thought, whoa! This is so familiar. I had to go to my vintage stash to figure it out. Turns out, Isabella starts out smelling almost exactly like my beloved vintage Bijan...and then by the dry-down smells 99.9% like Dolce&Gabbana (red cap), and that was my signature scent...in 1992. So while I love this scent, I think it's just too much a part of my past for me to wear this outside of special occasions. Seriously though, if you want this scent, try the D&G red cap first!

Perfection in a bottle! This is by far the best rose fragrance I have in my collection. First spray was magical and mesmerizing. I cannot wait to wear this out all dressed-up. So glad I did not have to pay full price, although it is full price worthy.

Wow, dreamy and creamy! Smells a lot like Love Tuberose to me, if you are looking for a (expensive) dupe!

I really like this one. I'm not sure I love it, but time will tell. Not everyone will love Isabella, and not because of the price tag, though the price tag placed on this fragrance is easily a deal breaker for many of us. It's more so that it's very understated, and as a result, it doesn't quite seem special. It's not a special occasion fragrance or a special woman's crown jewel. It's jeans and a t-shirt, casually listening to music or enjoying a good book. That's not a bad thing, I could wear it casually every day and enjoy it, but that casual wear is far from the queen who inspired it. I'm drawn to the background likeness Isabella shares with the iris and sandalwood of the original Guerlain Insolence. Isabella does not boast an iris note, so I'm not sure how the similarity is managed, but there is a shared DNA presenting on my skin. Unlike in Insolence though, it's muted (not boring) and acts as part of a woody base under sweet tuberose and vanilla mix and a late last-call rum. Together the combination of notes makes for a cozy, casual day fragrance. Royal Crown's Isabella isn't a queen, nor is she a member of the court, despite the price tag and the unfortunate pepto colored bottle. She's just you or me sitting on the couch chillin' with our feet propped up.

This is Avon’s Sweet Honesty on steroids through and through to my nose. I do not get the Love Tuberose comparison. The opening is almost exactly like Sweet Honesty but the dry down is where the Iris and Vanilla shines. Fitting for an English Princess.

This smells exactly how the bottle looks: very powdery and sweet, girly to the extreme. It is giving me a neroli mixed with major dose of baby powder vibe. I can not imagine this on someone older than 32 years of age or a man. This is a young girl scent for the spring or summer morning. The projection is moderate the first five minutes after that on my cool skin it becomes a skin scent that disappears in 45 minutes. May perform better if sprayed on clothes, but I did not test this since I was not interested in ultra girly scent profile.

I was fully prepared based off of the reviews and the notes, to buy this bottle at a discount and use it as a generic floral easy reach. Noooo... no no, I will not be doing that. Typically, I am a floral lover, but Isabella has me questioning everything. There is like a moment in the dry down where it smells like Love Tuberose (a less potent version), but that stage doesn’t last for long. I had a moment of, "oh dang, this really does smell super close to Love Tuberose", but as the wear continued the comparison became lost for me. It was a beautiful moment, though! The comparison to Rouge Malachite, conveniently the fragrance I wore out last night after using my Isabella decant during the day.... I think the moment of spiciness that Isabella gives is what causes that comparison, but it is fleeting. Not sure what note gives that, smells like pink pepper to me. I'm not a pro nose, but I do not think the two are really comparable. It does not *sustainably* smell like Love Tuberose OR Armani Rouge Malachite. I own full bottles of both, and this.... I sadly will not. It's kinda hard to put my finger on it, but I just really don't like it. I actively dislike this fragrance. Worth noting, when I got into the car with my friends they didn’t smell my fragrance (Isabella) and I had over sprayed. Eventually I asked what they thought, which required them literally putting their nose to my wrist. Nose touching wrist. I asked my first friend who quite simply did not know what to say (probably a bad sign), and then when his husband got back in the car I asked him separately - quite literally, the best I could get was a confused look and "it's fine". Later when I switched to rouge malachite I asked them both again, and they MUCH preferred it to Isabella. I translate their feedback to Isabella smelling “meh” like, “at least it’s not BO”, and then them actually thinking Rouge Malachite smelled positively actively good. I just can’t figure out WHAT this perfume is trying to accomplish. It has the potential to be really beautiful, but to be honest I think the neroli is ruining it. The scent just doesn’t make sense to my nose. If doesn’t evoke anything, it doesn’t remind me of any sweet memories. It just perplexes me.... What are you supposed to be? Big bummer, the bottle is beautiful!! If you’re like me and crave beautiful bottles, get Roja Pour Femme Elysium over this. Other basic overpriced perfume, but at least it’s committal.

This is...okay? I really dislike it. It is taking time for me to appreciate it. It is unlike anything else I have in my collection, for sure. I wish I understood it more...it is just so green (and screechy) while being powdery at the same time. It is sweet without being sugary. I do not smell any Rum or any Rose. It’s all about the Tuberose, she is loud, green and screaming for attention. It isn’t necessarily overwhelming but it is very imposing! There is no balance between the Tuberose and the rest of the notes, it is all Tuberose to my nose (I made a rhyme : ) It does settle down eventually to a more powdery tuberose and a lot less loud but oof...that first couple of hours is something else, and not in a good way : ( Longevity: 12-14 hours. Forever on clothes. Projection/Sillage: beastly on both. People will smell you from the other side of that room. Beware!! Price: yeah...it’s crazy expensive... Look of the bottle: beautiful looking bottle! She is Pink, she is Regal and Royal, she is Queen Isabella! All in all, I am not sure about keeping this bottle, I want to keep trying to like it but it is a challenging scent... Oh, what to do, what to do???

Tuberose and vanilla. If you took a tuberose and dipped it in vanilla that is what this is. It’s nice but that is all I’m getting here. It is a smooth tuberose nothing sharp or pungent. It is sweet, not gourmand, but you have to like sweet florals. As it dries down it gets a bit powdery, I don’t know where this is coming from because the notes don’t reflect anything powdery. However I am getting sweet powdery floral vibes. It’s a feminine scent for sure, and the powder I’m getting is very soft, almost like an afterthought. The more I smell this the more I like it. I recently bought Armani Rouge Malachite which is also a sweet tuberose and I need to go test this against that, but Rouge Malachite has zero powdery-ness. So I think this is truly its own thing. Edit: tested against rouge malachite and it is different enough that you could get both, but since both are expensive, I don’t know if the difference is worth all that money. Also on test number 2 of this fragrance I am getting some sandalwood on the dry down. This is truly so well blended it’s hard to differentiate what notes you’re getting. Its like a blend of tuberose vanilla and sandalwood for a bit of cleanness. It’s a beautiful and unique scent. If you like more of a Benzoin sweet creamy tuberose, go for rouge malachite if you want more of a vanilla sweet clean tuberose go for Isabella. Oh, and I’m getting zero powder on the dry down. I guess it was a fleeting soft powder that went away. Edit2: lasting power is good so far 4 hours for both fragrances I talked about and still going... Edit3: ok I’m on hour 5 and I can no longer smell the difference.

I'm apparently one of the weirdos who thinks this is an orange blossom fragrance. Isabella reminds me of Love Don't Be Shy, but more complex and less marshmallow-sweet. Probably the only orange blossom fragrance I can wear that doesn't give me grape juice vibes. Isabella is very balanced with a pinch of cinnamon, wears closer to the skin (though people in your scent bubble will be able to smell you), and gives me at least 6 hours of longevity. Perhaps not worth the full price Royal Crown is asking, but at a discount? You bet! You can tell the ingredients used are high quality, but I think the bottle is over the top and unnecessary. Maybe I'll feel differently when I see it in person. Sept.2025: I think the packaging is over the top and would rather pay less for something simpler with the same juice inside. Really, what's with the hype for Swarovski crystals?

Big fat Neroli and Tuberose scent, with some sweet amber vanilla undertones. Very similar to Oriana, Love Don't be shy...just slightly less dense and sweet. I think this scent is very nice but nothing original or to rave about. Very overpriced.. A sample is more than enough for me.

This is heavy on the tuberose, ylang, neroli, and orange blossom. It’s slightly powdery. Also, I detect something pungent in this one. Becomes more tolerable in the dry down. Reminds me a bit of Narciso poudree, but I prefer Narciso.

Stunning white floral with powdery elements this is beautiful. Such a classic tuberose/rose/ vanilla scent you can smell the mushroomyness of the real tuberose at trace amounts this smells very vintage and plush and last and last

This smells like shampoo on my skin. I get tuberose and rose only. Here, vanilla is listed as a note but I’m not getting it. Twenty minutes later, I’m warming up to it. Kinda like it now. Very potent and nice.

Love tuberose comparison is killing me ... let’s go out on a limb and guess which brand used the real absolute... I’m dead
