Musk Ubar

Stepped away from fragrances a few years ago because I realized I had a problem... Spent waaay too much money trying to find the perfect fragrance. Sold almost everything!! Dipping my toes back in again and decided to try things I usually would stay from.. Musks being one of those things. THIS RIGHT HERE.... Smells like no fragrance I've ever smelled before, but so familiar. First spray is amazing! I get light nutmeg and cloves with some saffron and quick coriander spice with styrax. As far as florals, I smell the jasmine and something else slightly floral but not sure what. Nutmeg, coriander and cloves are gone. This lasts for almost 2 hours with no change. After 2 hrs the styrax fades a bit and the ambergris kicks in. As it all settles, I get some sandalwood and tonka sweetness mixed with the jasmine until the end. Lasts about 10 hrs on my skin and over 24 hrs on clothing. I actually enjoy the smell on fabric even more than my skin. My puppy that has never been a snuggler, buries his face in my chest and now wants to cuddle every chance he gets. I get why some people may find it offensive but for me it's comforting. Sits fairly close but that's fine with me. Been looking for a backup bottle already.... Here we go again

I always find myself putting on my teenagerhood records on LP Player after spraying this fragrance, and pull out my mom’s vintage clothes out of closet, put them on with a funny make-up and exorbitant glasses out of mom’s shelf to make my own oldies but goldies fun show in front of the mirror for dancing without tomorrow, it makes me feel truly nostalgic, and in a very emotional, reviving and embracing way so

The internet is full of negative reviews of this perfume. My question is why? Does it smell like urine or feces – NO!!! Does it smell like dirty man – NO!!! Does it smell like the rag for floor cleaning – NO!!! Maybe it smells very naturally, like furry friend, who spend jumping and running whole day in the garden or in the forest. Maybe it smells like spicy bazar with thousands of people, some using perfumes, other smelling naturally, walking between stalls with meat, food seasonings, coffee, soaps and all stuff you can imagine. Of course, not all corners of bazaar are like most sophisticated perfume shop, but life also is not a perfume shop with our (perfume maniacs) dreams. Musk Ubar is like such bazaar. In some moments we are bewitched in some shocked and sometimes we are confused if we love or hate – this is perfume art, isn’t it?

Royal Crown Musk Ubar is unique, I have not smelled anything like it. It is mostly a floriental musk, although the musk here is actually a well crafted accord, M Matos's article breaks it down nicely. There is no actual musk here. It is also complex as I always feel like I'm smelling something familiar, yet can never truly put my finger on it. What I can pick out is mainly jasmine with an assortment of spicy notes. It is a bit vintage smelling. I wouldn't say it is animalic or smells like fur but I can see people sensible to animalics picking that up. On the performance side of things this doesn't scream, it is a chill.. or is it? I would say it lasts somewhere between 6 to 8 hours close to skin. However I have had wearings when it lasted through the day and got wiffs of it for at least 3 hours. What is this due to? I honestly have no ideea, it might be weather but the only thing I know is that when this happened I used only a few sprays on my arm. Who's this fragrance for? I honestly couldn't say. I bought this searching for a musk grail and it was not what I expected. I would see this as being a good fragrance to own for a big collector of obscurities who is bored and just wants something different or for someone who is into vintage florals, especially jasmin. I am looking to swap my bottle.

A nice multilayered masculine Oriental with a distinct animalic feel, this one is for adventurous perfume lovers. The perfume opens with an aromatic burst of nutmeg, coriander, cloves, saffron and olibanum. There is a brief floral heart of rose, jasmine, tuberose and angelica. The perfume settles on a dense bed of ambergris, styrax and leather surrounded by hints of oud, labdanum, tonka bean, oakmoss, benzoin, synthetic musk and sandalwood. Like a more masculine companion to Absolute from the same line, this is a perfume for strong bold men. Moderate to strong projection and excellent longevity. Enjoy!

Uhmmm is this just Khiels Original Musk?? A bit stronger and more animalic in the opening but they dry down the exact same. Not sure there is much more to say here.

First of all, I own and like Kiehl’s Musk. Musk Ubar and Kiehl’s are both floral musks but they don’t smell much alike at all and have a completely different feel. Musk Ubar has a very natural feel and it’s obvious that a lot of natural materials are used here. I’m not saying natural musk because this isn’t a true musk fragrance, it’s created with layers of materials/notes that create a musk accord. There is obviously a high percentage of naturals used here that you won’t find in the Kiehl’s (which is an obviously synthetic but great smelling perfume). Musk Ubar is much more floral in feel as well and it clearly a more sophisticated perfume using much higher quality materials. I would call Musk Ubar an ambergris floral with clean and slightly dirty musky undertones and in my opinion it leans feminine. It’s a unisex perfume and can be worn by anyone but it’s not a masculine feeling musk whatsoever and I would think many men might find it feminine because of the florals. It’s what I consider a classic clean floral musk in the style similar to Tom Ford’s line that had Jasmine Musk and Musk Pure though this has a much more natural feel. It’s not dirty like Urban Musk from the same line or Muscs Koublai Khan by Serge Lutens. I’m surprised that some find this dirty and animalic because it’s actually a lightweight in that department. There is a mild dirtiness to it but really only if you dig your nose in. The trail it leaves will certainly not be stinky lol. It’s an alluring floral ambergris with a slight vintage feel but without smelling dated as the Kiehl’s does. The Kiehl’s smells straight up 70s musk to me and this doesn’t. If you like classic floral musks that have a slight vintage feel about them and lean just a little femme, you probably won’t find a better smelling one than Musc Ubar. I have no idea what Royal Crown does to give their perfumes such an expensive, regal feel, but they excel when it comes to quality perfume. Some may not like the aesthetic of their bottles with the sparkly crowns and all that and may feel it’s a bit much...but their perfumes certainly live up to the presentation. They are extravagant perfumes of remarkable quality. And I personally love the presentation.

احيانا اضبط نفسى متلبسا بمحاولة وصف عطر بطريقة المسلسلات التركيه التى اعتدناها فى المدونات ...فلا يهمنى ما الذى فعله الباتشول فى العنبر تحت بير السلم ليغضبه الى هذا الحد ..ما يهمنى ويشغلنى حقا هل هذا العطر يصلح للارتداء ام لا ...تحب ان تضع عطرا تحبه وتجعل من حولك يحبونك ..هل عطور النيش لاجل سعرها العالى تكون تحت سمعك وبصرك متجاهلا روائح كثيرة لقيمتها المعقوله... هل ما يحركك جيبك ام انفك ؟ على موقع البيس نوت وجدت من يعلق قائلا (ينبغى عليك ان تضع لافته على قميصك تقول ايها الناس انا لم اتغوط فى سروالى كما تعتقدون..... انا- فقط - اضع ديور عود ليزر ) قد تبدو هذه الصراحة شيئا مقيتا عند التحدث عن الاذواق التى تتباين دائما..لكن فى نفس الوقت لابد لكى تحب لابد وان تجرب الكراهيه ومن هنا تنبع فضيلة الاختلاف واذا لم نفعل فكأن علينا ان نردد نفس الافكار باسلوب الجرسونات البارد المهذب مقلم الاظافر . فى طفولتى وفى زيارة لمسجد الحسين (رضى الله عنه)تذكرت وانا احاول الهروب من الشخص الواقف على الباب ممسكا بشئ من العطر يغرق به كل يد تمتد له لمصافحته واتذكر فشلى فى ذلك و حاولت ان اتخلص من الرائحة الشديده بغسل يدى مرات ومرات حتى ظننت انها ستصبغ جلدى للابد . رائحة مسك ثقيل ذو طبيعة زيتيه .. خطى ليس به شئ ..يصيب من يشمه بالدهشة والاختناق معا ... يتركك فى حاله من الحيرة والملل والرغبه فى احتشاء شئ دافئ وتذكر تجربه لطيفة لكى تنسى وجدت اخيرا مقالا يصف العطر : تصف الشركه عطرها انه عطر ذو ملامح ملكيه نبيله حيث تمتزج الانجيليكا مع الجيرانيوم لتنمحك افتتاحيه تابليه ثم يبدا الورد والياسمين اضفاء طبيعه حسيه على قلب العطر الذى ينام على سرير دافئ من المسك وعنبر الحوت ...عطر مسك اووربار عطر دافئ غامض ملكى كثيف ومفعم بالحيوية يمنحك توقيعا ابديا يبدو كما لو كان كنزا لولئك التواقين والطامحين للاناقه فى كافة صورها . يقول كاتب المقال انا لا امانع فى استخدام نوتات غير مقبوله الرائحه فى العطور مثل عنبر الحوت او الروائح الحيوانيه او روائح الجسد...لكن رائحة هذا العطر تشبه خرقه قذرة قد اغمست مرارا فى منظف لتنظيف طاولة مطعم متسخه ...هذه هى رائحة مسك يوبار ليس اكثر . هذا العطر يتخطى ثمنه اربعة الاف جنيه مصرى ..وكأى جنتلمان سوف ابتلع كراهيتى واقول لك جرب قبل الشراء
