Oud Al Melka

First lets address the Elephant in the room. Oud Al Melka DOES NOT smell like Roja's Musk Aoud. Clearly 4 people here on Fragrantica saw the notes & tried to make a scent relation to Musk Aoud & missed the mark by miles. Do not buy this fragrance with the thought that you are getting Royal Crown's version of a Roja parfum. Oud Al Melka is literally a Smoke Bomb ! It smells like Bakhoor. As the Juniper, Grey Musk, Cedar, Tonka, Ylang Ylang, & Jasmine blend with the Rose it begins to smell more like a Rose Soap underneath smoking Oud chips. As the smoke settles a bit I can begin to pick up on the Balsamic qualities of the Olibanum & Labdanum, with a very subtle, but noticeable skank from the combination of the second Musk note & the Jasmine. It almost reminds me of how the Jasmine note in Fort & Manle's Charlatan was done. After a couple of hours the composition goes from smelling like Rose Soap & smoked Oud chips to smelling Jasmine Incense like, but again, subtle, because the overall fragrance is still smoky. I do pick up on Saffron & Cardamom, but like everything else their presence is very subtle. Dont expect lots of spice here. This is hardcore Middle Eastern style perfumery. This is a Sheikh who's garments were scented over hot stones with Bakhoor. I dont expect to receive any compliments on this fragrance. Oud Al Melka isnt sexy, regal, or even gentlemanly...Its spiritual, & I love it. The projection is moderate. But the scent trail is where this fragrance shines. For hours you will leave a beautiful scent trail of smoked florals. On clothes Oud Al Melka lasted almost an entire week.

Unbelievably gorgeous! Sometimes it presents as though you have been standing in oud smoke. Sometimes it presents as a very rich mix of deep, damp woods that smell like animal musks. Sometimes the florals (dark, rich) emerge from the smoke or wood. The quality is incredible. There appears to be a base of white musks here because the fragrance is bright and radiant despite being smokey, deep, damp, and rich. Love!

Superb fragance very very long lasting

A nice enough but vastly overrated woody Oriental centered around saffron and Laotian Oud. The perfume opens with the central saffron note surrounded by slight hints of juniper, cardamom, lavender and cedar. There is a brief floral heart of mostly rose and jasmine. The perfume settles into it’s Laotian Oud centered base surrounded by hints of synthetic musk, olibanum, labdanum and tonka bean. The unisex perfume is well blended with strong projection and excellent longevity. Nice but not vastly different from many other Oud offerings in the market most closely Xerjoff Gao. Enjoy!

This is slightly medicinal and not really oud, mostly i smell musc. jasmines, slight and tiny roses, cardamom, saffron, and some factory nylon. It's more of a spicy than oudi, kind of artificial nylon & i guess it's from the sage and ylang mix. It's not that impressive as it's name, it's just kind of softer to be "Al Melka oud". Edit (10th April 2017) Now this time it reminds me of my grandmother! and it is really remind me of her ALLOT with that slightly soft saffron note that covers her shear black scarf! and her hair smell after henna! I believe it does somehow present the primal Arabian engagement somehow (Which means Melka) as i could picture my grandmother wearing a black dress with all the things mentioned above and would smell like this! and i believe there is some oud and it's not the European medicinal style type of oud! things got mixed up with me since i highly doubted that i'll find an Arabian style oud in an European fragrance! but i guess Antonio did it and presented it quite well with this one here. An Arabian fragrance that presents engagement.

Beautifully crafted high quality metallic rose on a bed of oud. Stunning composition, the more I smell it on fabric the more the florals come through the ylang keeps it juicy while the dark oud keeps it dark the mix of roses in this gives a vintage make up vibe, than all that’s slapped around with aromatics absolutely stunning material went into the making of this beauty. Middle eastern in all the good ways. Initial blast is beautiful cedar with Laotian oud... with heavy rose and light jasmine. The ylang is quiet apparent to.

I'm wearing this one right now. The dry down is the star of the show! Around 20 minutes into the dry down the sweetness and mystery of the fragrance starts revealing itself. It is such a beautiful journey, can't stop sniffing my arm and wrists. This is a beautiful smokey full on Middle Eastern scent.

Starts out like medicinal salve. You know the kind your grandmother used to put on bee stings? It is strongly medicinal. Mellows out to a semisweet woody fragrance. Nice.
